Date of Exodus Discovered

Nadene Goldfoot
A new Blood Moon analysis by a  computer scientist and Blood Moon expert who happens to also be a high tech entrepreneur, Bob O'Dell, has come up with  the dates of 1579-1578 BCE for the Exodus.  By using the Blood moon's appearances, the date fell on one of only 2 Blood Moon tetrads (4 moons in a group) in a 1,000 year period.  O'Dell started the group,  ROOT SOURCE, an organization of Israeli Jews teaching Christians.  His partner is Gideon Ariel, an Orthodox Jew.  Their website explains that Root Source is answering a call

Update: This is close to Garstang's theory that it was in 1447 BCE that the Exodus happened.  Otherwise, my Pentateuch and Haftorah II says it happened in 1230 BCE.

Knowledgeable, Orthodox Israeli Jews teaching Christians around the world online about Jewish concepts, ideas and thought, to more deeply understand the roots of their faith, in an informal and loving manner is that call.  Bob and Gideon sound much like our own Oregon's The Teacher and the Preacher, who are a Jewish scholar and a Christian minister who broadcast over the radio.  Bob was the founder of Root Source and examined the Blood Moon theory of Christians.  "Christian Blood Moon theorists were wrong about the signs in the heavens," he says.  He's also an astronomer, which must have started his search in the first place concerning the Blood Moons that come in sets of 4.

"Bob O'Dell has been a long time friend and collaborator of the Hubble Heritage Project. An avid Hubble observer, Bob's main astronomical interest is nebulae, one of the more photogenic treasures in deep space. Bob has been a science advocate for our team on many Heritage observations and the Hubble archive is studed his science work."

Wikipedia records information about Egypt's ancient history during the times of the Pharaohs during this period of 1579-1578 BCE.  "

Kamoses's sarcophagus

  • [1570 BC]—The Second Intermediate Period of Egypt ends and the New Kingdom begins in Ancient Egypt.  Kamose was the last Pharaoh of the THEBAN 17th Dynasty from 1573 to 1570 BCE.  The 18th Dynasty Pharoah was Ahmose I from 1570 to 1546.  Kamose and Ahmose were brothers.  Kamose's father was "  Seqenenre Tao (The Brave) who may have risen to power in the decade ending in 1560 BC or in 1558 BC (based on the probable accession date of Ahmose I, the first ruler of the eighteenth dynasty, see Egyptian chronology)

  • "Kamose's reign is important for the decisive military initiatives he took against the Hyksos, who had come to rule much of Ancient Egypt.   His father had begun the initiatives and, quite possibly, lost his life in battle with them. It is thought that his mother, as regent, continued the campaigns after the death of Kamose (also in battle with the Hyksos), and that his full brother made the final conquest of them and united all of Egypt.

  • The Hyksos were a Semitic people who overran Egypt after the destruction of the Middle Kingdom.  Archaeological digs have found royal Hyksos scarabs, etc, bearing names similar to Hebrew., while Hyksos remains have also been uncovered in Israel.  The Hyksos ruled Egypt about from 1720 to 1580 BCE and during this period, the Children of Israel entered the country and were favorably treated.  Becoming slaves is believed to have begun after the expulsion of the Hyksos.  Bob O'Dell, using science, came up with 1579 for the Exodus!  The Hyksos left and the next year the Jews with Moses followed!
  • The word, Hyksos, is Egyptian, meaning "rulers of the foreign lands."
I have, according to The New Standard Jewish Encyclopedia, that Moses, of the tribe of Levites, who led the Israelites out of Egypt on the Exodus to have lived from 1391 to 1271 BCE.  That makes the ordinary records off by 188 years.  O'Dell did his very scientifically according to astronomy.  So according to him, the events took places even later in time.

He then places King David and the writing of his Psalms to have happened in 1058-1057 BCE.  My encyclopedia places King David ruling from 1010 BCE to 970 BCE.  This isn't bad; pretty close, as a matter of fact, only off by about 40 some years.

We have one more blood moon to see.  " A blood moon will also accompany Sukkot or Sukkah (Feast of Tabernacles)  which starts on the 8th of October 14 Tishrei) .  It lasts for 7 days and ends on the 16th of October.  It commemorates the special protection given the Israelites during their 40 year wandering in the desert and recalls the little booths they built in the fields and lived in during the exodus and during the harvest. "

All this was calculated by when blood moons appeared.  From Joel, in the Bible, we read, "“The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.” (Joel 3:4)  O'Dell noticed that "The Blood Moon tetrads all took place after the pivotal historical events.  He also noticed that Christian commentators about the Blood Moons left out many occurrences.  So he tackled the puzzle and came up with something different.

1. Following O'Dell's theory, he has the Mishnah and Talmud written in 162-163 CE.  Mishnah was compiled by Rabbi Judah Ha-Nasi.  He was born about 135 to 220 CE according to the encyclopedia.  He was a rabbi who lived in the Galilee.  He spoke pure Hebrew in his home, buried in Bet Shearim.
2. The Siddur Prayer Book would have been written in 860-861 CE ; no date for this Ashkenazim volume of the daily prayers in encyclopedia.
3. The Guttenberg Printing Press would have been invented in 1428-1429 CE: Gutenberg died in 1468.  Interesting that he had been  a Goldsmith and lived in Mainz, Germany, a city that used to have many Jews.
4. And here we are in 1949-1950 with Israel created in 1948 and the Dead Sea Scrolls found.

These were events that came after the appearance of Blood Moons.

  5. Thanks for the websites, Andre. It brought back memories of my 5 years of celebrating Yom Hatzmaut. I see in the 2nd one a Christian in Israel is also celebrating as well, obviously a citizen. All true about Truman and his cabinet. Truman was farsighted and the only one sympathetic to our cause of creating the Jewish Homeland planned for way back in the days of the League of Nations and even before. I'm happy to say I've connected my mother's genealogy to Bess Truman, but she wasn't as far sighted as Harry was. Truman was miraculously the right man for the right time.

  6. yes. joel rosenberg is a christian jew. he has written many books. amazing reads. one of the reviews of his first book said: as though ripped from the headlines........tomorrows headlines. his first book was at the publishers being printed right when 9/11 happened. the book has jihadists flying planes into buildings in the story. the story and the timing of his book was of God. he is very current with what goes on in israel. he was once in an advisory position to benjamin netanyahu and speaks very highly of him. he has done a wonderful job of making people aware of israel on many many levels. loving israel so much he moved his family there to be more at the heart of whatever the nation is going through that he may help any way he can. the man is a blessing.

  7. I would say he's now Christian. Pretty hard to be both. He converted from Judaism then. On 9/11 his book about jihadists flying planes into buildings was being published? That should have made Ripley's Believe it or Not. Then his book was quite prophetic. Wonder what he's writing about next. Here's a little on him. Joel C. Rosenberg is an American communications strategist, author of the Last Jihad series, and founder of The Joshua Fund. Wikipedia

    FICTION
Rosenberg’s fiction has captured the attention of our nation. Labeled as a "modern-day Nostradamus," his political thrillers have an uncanny way of coming true.. starting with his first book, The Last Jihad. Written 9 months before 9/11, the story is about terrorists flying a plane into a skyscraper in a major U.S. City. Joel’s books read like they’re ripped from tomorrow’s headlines.
