Watching C Span Debate Israel's Position on Living in Judea and Samaria

Nadene Goldfoot
Our Congress commenced today, this first day of the new year of 2017 and what were they talking about?  Israel.  They were debating a resolution backing Israel's position after Obama shocked everyone with Kerry voting against Israel at the UN, and then having the Chutzpa to defend this stand afterwards, breaking a 30 some year practice to be defensive for the tiny Democratic state of Israel who is fighting for her life.
The Democrats were against Israel while I was watching, and the last I noticed was from Vermont.  They are aghast that 600,000 Jews now live in their ancient homeland and think it is strictly land for the Palestinians to claim as Palestine.  Good Grief!
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel meeting with Arab citizens
Does anyone realize that there are 1.7 million Arabs living in Israel?  They are full citizens with every right anyone else has there.  May I remind our people that there is but one Israel and 49 Muslim majority states already?  Yet another Muslim state, Palestine, is to be 100% Muslim?
Why do these  Democratic Congressmen allow a Palestine to be strictly Muslim without any Jews living there at all and yet it's fine that Israel is so Democratic to have so many Muslims living among them?  No one has brought this fact up.
Is the United States all one religion like England started off to be?  One had to be Episcopalian there.  That's why the Pilgrims left in 1620.  So that's okay for the Palestinians because they have already stated it will be Judenrein, like Germany wanted to be.  If Israel can hold 1.7 Arabs in their 8,000 sq miles of land, why can't the Palestinians have 600,000 Jews in their Palestine I'd like to know?  Why is it that whatever they want--no one questions it?
Israel has already done this with Gaza and got in return land holding families to be turned into an arsenal and platform in their backyard in which to shell Israel from.
Your argument is so lame.  Israel has the right to have as many Jews living in their own ancient homeland as they wish.  It was their land originally and was granted to them again by all the nations of the world who belonged to the League of Nations.  It was granted state's rights again by the UN.  International lawyers such as Professor Eugene Kontorovich have stated that Israel is in the right to do so.  They had been attacked in an aggressive war by a gang of armies and they won.  That means everything.  It means they now have their own land back, despite what Europe thinks.
Listen, world.  Europe has never been fair to the Jews.  We have suffered anti-Semitism for thousands of years.   It's time you realize that your pronouncement against Israel is age-old anti-Semitism and you have not-through the United Nations of today, been treating Israel fairly at all.

It has always been Israelis who have fought their wars.  No American has ever had to fight for them.  It was Israelis who fought in 1967 when 5 countries attacked them.  It was Israelis who won the battle allowing their families to finally be able to visit the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount where their Temple of Solomon had once stood.
Israel expects borders which will be defensible, not the 1967 Armistice borders, that will not constitute a temptation to a potential aggressor as did these pre-1967 lines.  Israel has, since 1967, offered to negotiate with the Arab Governments a true peace which would also provide for secure borders.  Israel has insisted that it makes no prior conditions, and that everything will be open for discussion in the negotiations.  Israel must have a few positions on where the secure borders ought to be.  Israel has never wanted to annex a large Arab population , but its position is that the River Jordan should no longer be open to crossing by Arab troops and that, to assure this, there must be an Israeli foothold in the Jordan Valley.  These conditions  are as they stood in 1973.  Now, 2017 is upon us; Forty-four years have since passed.  Arabs have been attacking during these years.  Peace has been wanted by Israel but the Arabs still opt for attacking them.  And the Chutzpa of it all is that the world, including some in Congress, expect Israel to sign on any paper for a 2-state solution.  They expect nothing from the Arabs!
Israel has been most fair to all their people as the Republicans who spoke today explained.  They said much that you  Democrats were not listening to.  I've never been so ashamed of a group of people in my life as the Democrats who spoke today against Israel.  I'm certainly glad I switched over years ago from being a Democrat to a Republican.  What used to be a party for Jews is sticking it to them and they don't even realize it in their desperation to defend their party.  Who is the party who is hurt by it?  Israel.  May the Republicans win their debate today.

  1. Caroline Glick is getting prophetic. I just ran across this comment from her in her article. "This is important for Israel to understand because the clock is ticking. Obama’s onslaught has made clear that the Democratic Party no longer supports Israel. Like the PLO, Obama and his advisers view the PLO’s conflict with Israel as a zero-sum game and they have cast their lots with the terrorists against the Jewish state." After what I watched today, she was right on. At this point, education might not ever turn the Democratic heads as they've become so one-sided instead of using common sense.

  2. i am making folks aware nadene and reference your articles too. caroline glick is absolutely on point.

  3. Thans Andre.
I just ran across this information about the fact that they passed it, thank goodness.
    1. Netanyahu thanks US Congress for opposition to UN resolution
    by David Rosenberg

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu addressed members of the United States House of Representatives in a video statement Friday afternoon, thanking them for their support of Israel in the face of the anti-Israel resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council in December.

“After the outrageous anti-Israel resolution at the UN, the US House of Representatives voted yesterday resoundingly to support Israel and reject this one-sided resolution.

“Democrats and Republicans alike know that the Western Wall isn't occupied territory.
They voted to either repeal the resolution at the UN or change it—and that's exactly what we intend to do.

“I want to thank the US House of Representatives which reflects the tremendous support Israel enjoys among the American people. Thank you, America. Thank you, Congress.”

On Thursday the Republican-controlled House voted 342-80 to rebuke the UN for Resolution 2334, calling upon the White House to veto future UN Security Council measures which seek to impose solutions to final status issues, or are one-sided and anti-Israel.”

  4. That means that many Democrats also voted in favor of Israel. When it came to this issue, they voted with the Republicans, as it should be. Whew! I hated hearing that tirade of illogical thinking that was all against Israel. What's going on with Vermont, anyway? I know Bernie Sanders is from there, too, and both these Reps are against Israel. Hmmm. What bothers me besides their position is that my mother's grandparents came from Vermont. I have lots of genealogy from there. I hate to see them so negative about Israel. Well, maybe that's why her grandparents left Vermont.

  5. I found the answer about Vermont. Just 33.70 % are religious to start with, and of them, many are of Christianity that has never been a fan of Jews and some are actively involved with BDS now as an international church group. So to most, Israel means nothing to them, and therefore they support what they think are the underdogs-the Palestinians supported by billions of Muslims. Some underdogs they are. They're just against making peace.

  6. i'm glad a majority are still capable of being rational. to side with the palestinians in this whole issue is insane because these people do not want peace and will stop at nothing to keep absolute turmoil going (with lots of $$$ and weapons help from more haters). they have proven they do not intend to be neighbors. why reward these haters with their own state? how wrong not to side with israel, the only is the good neighbor in the region and beyond--good neighbors to the world....

and besides God gave the jews that land.
is going to get down and dirty before all is said and done but...those that hate israel no matter how many of them there are...won't get past God.

    end of story ;)

  7. Thank you Andre. You are so right. Now, if only Trump and Israel can do something about this terrible vote in the UN. We sure have a lot of illiterate people in the world who have spewed so many false facts about Israel that need to be educated.

  8. i was "educating" somebody on my facebook page a few days ago when a person made the comment that there was no israel before 1947.

well......i said a bit to refute that garbage and told this person to go do some searching and find out some facts before i would engage anymore. a little more exchange happened and i referenced your blog. no more comebacks. don't know if they actually looked and saw how wrong they were but at least facts were being stated and a place to go to start searching out the truth concerning all this. a few lookers at my page saw the discussion and a couple messaged me to say i helped them understand more about the situation with the palestinians and israel.
it amazes me how many are simply not paying attention or just don't care or just never thought they needed to know about these things.

it is crucial to know what is going on with israel! it has a big impact on us as americans.....huge stakes for the world!!!!!!

  9. Thank you a lot, Andre. You are so right. Americans have not been educated about the history of Israel. Perhaps they have stayed away from it because it gets biblical. I don't know. It seems to be one of the smallest states in the world and yet no matter what, one of the most important states in the world, yet too many remain uneducated about it. Being a retired teacher, that's what I'm striving for; to educate people about her. Obama's pundits tonight are saying how empathetic he is. Well, he hasn't been about Israel. I don't think he knows a thing about our history, either. Well, the more people we can reach, the better the world will be. Education is the key to peace in the Middle East. I'm sure grateful that you are one of my constant readers. Stay well.
