Soul-Shaking Events Happening Right Now

 Nadene Goldfoot

Gaza City after Hamas attack on Israel and slaughter of 1,400 Israelis.  Not only was this attack a First happening to Israel by Hamas coming from para-gliders, sea and land-even on motorcycles, by foot, etc, and was the most gory attack, beheading babies and people in worst ways than ISIS, but the slaughter of bodies, the kidnapping of hostages both elderly and infants, and all at a time that the Israeli government had let their guard down thinking these were peaceful days, good to repair their government and not to put money and minds into security.  After all, they thought, it had been 50 years since Yom Kippur War when they were caught off-guard  of less worry.

That all made it a horrible first event.  But also, many will believe that it is the start of the end of times.

Mostly, Christians have been the religion most interested and verbal  in the end of times, having Jesus as the Messiah.

Known to many of Israeli citizens is that this war with Hamas was foretold about in the Torah, the first part of our Bible-The Five Books of Moses. It is also seen as the end of times. The Othodox know of this, but not the Secular, not those blase to their own history.

At the culmination of a horrid war against their people would appear a great man, the leader of the people, bringing about Peace, something they haven't had since their origin.  He is called the Moshiach.  So it's pretty eerie, knowing the future and finding yourself in the middle of a story in your own bible.  At least, according to your author, it will have a happy ending for your people.  The author, of course, was Moses himself, through the word of G-d.  as the written and oral words tell us, if you notice what was said and know your history to connect it all.

The Kotel (the wall) where Jews pray.

Interesting how it always comes back to Jerusalem. The Bible predicted, thousands of years ago, that the end time events would revolve around Jerusalem. Not San Francisco. Not Los Angeles. Not Moscow. Not Paris.

But Jerusalem, this tiny little city, in this tiny sliver of land, will play a key role in the events of the last days. It’s the focal point of end times events. It’s amazing when you think about it, because in Zechariah 12:3–4 God says, “I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves” (NLT).  A  lot can be read into this statement if you know your recent history.

I notice that in the Dark Ages, Nostradamus wrote in code, too. Nostradamus's father's family had originally been Jewish, but had converted to Catholic Christianity a generation before Nostradamus (December 1503 – July 1566) was born.   Sadly, there's no answer book for his codes.  One doesn't know the correct answers.

Many prophets told of this end of days.  Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, and Psalms.   In many Psalms, whose authorship are traditionally ascribed to King David (i.e. Messiah/Moshiach David), the author writes about his life in third person, referring to himself as "the/God's/your messiah" while clearly discussing his military exploits. Thus it can be argued that many of the portions that are asserted to be prophetic Psalms may not be.  Messiah (Moshiach in Hebrew) means "annointed one" of which all of Israel's kings were annointed-by oil kept for this purpose.  The Jewish moshiach is a man, a leader like a general, not a G-d.  We have but one G-d who is unseen, like a force and today use the word, Ha shem (The Name).

Both Jews and Christians have been reading the material and have used codes to find a deeper meaning of the words to prove their theories. All 3 religions; Judaism, Christianity and Islam, agree that the end of days are near, but I don't think Judaism thought it was now; the word I heard was more like in about another couple hundred years from now.  Anytime we Jews have been in terrible danger, the Moshiach was prayed for, and there have been many many false Moshiachs. Even Bar Kohba was thought to have been the Moshiach.

He was a man to remember of our history, for sure.  Simon bar Kokhba (Hebrewשִׁמְעוֹן בַּר כּוֹכְבָא Šīmʾōn bar Kōḵḇāʾ‎) or Simon ben Koseba (שִׁמְעוֹן בַּר כֹסֵבָא Šīmʾōn bar Ḵōsēḇaʾ‎),was a Jewish military leader in Judea. He is the namesake of the Bar Kokhba revolt, which he initiated against the Roman Empire in 132 CE. Though they were ultimately unsuccessful, Bar Kokhba and his rebels did manage to establish and maintain a Jewish state for about three years after beginning the rebellion. Bar Kokhba served as the state's leader, crowning himself as nasi (lit.'prince'). Some of the rabbinic scholars in his time imagined him to be the long-expected Messiah of Judaism. In 135, Bar Kokhba was killed by Roman troops in the fortified town of Betar. The Judean rebels who remained after his death were all killed or enslaved within the next year, and their defeat was followed by a harsh crackdown on the Judean populace by the Roman emperor Hadrian.  Bar Kokhba had fit the description quite well.  "Bar" means "son" of Kokhba. People were identified by their fathers names and as a genealogist, I think them so much for doing that.

The Temple Mount at end of days

This book stimulated an American movie made in 1999 of the End of Days.  Rotten Tomatoes had a comment:  "The movie pits Arnold Schwarzenegger against the devil (Gabriel Byrne), with director Peter Hyams delivering tense moments of action amid not-so-subtle choices for character development".which tells enough about the movie.  Sylvia Celeste Browne (née Shoemaker; October 19, 1936 – November 20, 2013) was an American author who claimed to be a medium with psychic abilities. She appeared regularly on television and radio, including on The Montel Williams Show and Larry King Live, and hosted an hour-long online radio show on Hay House Radio.  Browne frequently made pronouncements that were later found to be false, including those related to missing persons. In 1992, she plead no contest to securities fraud. Despite the considerable negative publicity, she maintained a large following until her death in 2013.
