Are We In The Times Predicted About "End of Times?

 Nadene Goldfoot

My son and I were talking about the serious anti-Semitism, the rise in terrorist attacks in Jerusalem and the rest of Israel, and then the earthquakes.  He commented, "Unstoppable forces meets an immovable object.  The paradox of the Immovable Object meeting the Irresistible Force. No object can resist an irresistible force. No force can move an immovable object. So if an immovable object meets an irresistible force it will move and not move. What do you think will happen to Israel, Mom?

I commented that with the earthquake added to this recipe, it sounds more like the prophesized End Of Times have the answer.

Already, some are wondering if Israel will be hit with a stronger earthquake like Turkey and Syria has been.  My son asked what the prophets had said.

I answered that all 3 major religions expected a Messiah at the end of Times.  Christianity expects a 2nd coming of Jesus, Islam expects a Mahdi and we Jews certainly await the Moshiach.  All three religions agree on one thing, this Messiah is due to appear sometime starting anytime, now.

                                    Dr. David Jeremiah

Dr. David Jeremiah is one of America’s most trusted Christian Bible teachers.     Jeremiah said, " I can say with certainty that we are closer to the Rapture and the Tribulation than ever before...and even as the world hurtles towards earth's Last Days, we can find hope..." These are events that will happen during the end of Times to Christians.

Many Muslims anticipate that the end of days is here, or will be here soon. In a 2012 Pew poll, in most of the countries surveyed in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, half or more Muslims believe that they will personally witness the appearance of the Mahdi. In Islamic eschatology, the messianic figure known as the Mahdi (the Guided One) will appear before the Day of Judgment. This expectation is most common in Afghanistan (83 percent), followed by Iraq (72), Tunisia (67), and Malaysia (62).  Mahdī, (Arabic: “guided one”) in Islamic eschatology, a messianic deliverer who will fill earth with justice and equity, restore true religion,(Islam) and usher in a short golden age lasting seven, eight, or nine years before the end of the world.  The Mahdi  'the Guided') is a messianic figure in Islamic eschatology who is believed to appear at the end of times to rid the world of evil and injustice. The Palestinians have been fed so many lies about their origins and Israel that they feel a great deal of injustice, fixed only by destroying Israel.  They were fed such lies by the important Arab nations surrounding Israel who were inflamed with the Jewish presence, thinking the land was theirs---why--who knows?  More lies to them to fight against the Jews.  To them the League of Nations and the UN were evil.  The West was evil.  Jews were evil.

Flag used by various Islamist organisations (since the late 1990s) with the white text of the shahada on a black background.

Muslims also take in the 2nd return of Jesus along with their Mahdi at the End of Times.  For years, al Qaeda invoked apocalyptic predictions in both its internal and external messaging, by using the name Khorasan, a region that includes part of Iran, Central Asia, and Afghanistan, and from which, it is prophesied, the Mahdi will emerge alongside an army bearing black flags. Internal al Qaeda documents and communiqués from Osama bin Laden often listed his location as Khorasan, and more recently, an al Qaeda cell in Syria adopted the name.5 These claims were, however, mostly symbolic.

The Jews' opinion of the End of Times is:  According to the Talmud, the Midrash, and the Zohar, the 'deadline' by which the Messiah must appear is 6000 years from creation (approximately the year 2240 in the Gregorian calendar, though calculations vary). Today we are in the year 5783.  That means that by 217 more years, the Messiah will have been here.  This is the time preparing for the event.  It could happen at any time.  We're in the time of leading up to it.

The Jewish Messiah is a different person from the Christian and Islamic expectations.  The Messiah in Judaism (Hebrewמָשִׁיחַ is a savior and liberator figure in Jewish eschatology, who is believed to be the future redeemer of the Jewish people. The concept of messianism originated in Judaism, and in the Hebrew Bible a messiah is a king or High Priest of Israel traditionally anointed with holy anointing oil.

However, messiahs were not exclusively Jewish, as the Hebrew Bible refers to Cyrus the Great, king of the first Persian empire, as a messiah for his decree to rebuild the Jerusalem Temple.

In Jewish eschatology, the Messiah is a future Jewish king from the Davidic line, who is expected to be anointed with holy anointing oil and rule the Jewish people during the Messianic Age and world to come. The Messiah is often referred to as "King Messiah" (Hebrewמלך משיחromanizedmelekh mashiach) or malka meshiḥa in Aramaic.

Jewish messianism gave birth to Christianity, which started as a Second Temple period messianic Jewish sect or religious movement.

Islam was started by Mohammad born in 570 in Mecca.  He died in 632.Mohammad did not read or write, but listened to Jewish story-tellers in Medina reading to their audience in Saudi Arabia.  He learned much; that Jews were People of the Book, and he thought he could provide the same for his people.

Earthquakes have caused widespread destruction and the deaths of millions of people. What does the Bible say about earthquakes in the end times? How should we respond?
Isaiah by Michael Angelo
The ancient prophet Isaiah issued a similar warning for the end times. In a message that applied first to ancient Jerusalem and then to Jerusalem  the prophet said, “You will be punished by the LORD of hosts with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with storm and tempest and the flame of devouring fire” (Isaiah 29:6). (By Hashem, Master of Legions, will you be remembered, with thunder and with earthquake, and loud sound, storm and  temptest, and consuming flame of fire.)

During the “day of the Lord”   (Isaiah 2:18,)And the false gods will perish completely and idolators will enter caves in the rocks and tunnels in the ground, because of the fear of Hashem and from the glory of His greatness, when he arises to break the land.  (Isaiah 21-9) Behold, it is coming;  a chariot with a man, a pair of horsemen.  each says loudly, "It has fallen!  Babylonia has fallen!  all the statues of its gods have been shattered on the ground!  it is like grain of the threshing floor for me to thresh!" Babylonia is in Iraq. It still exists, but probably felt the latest earthquake like Israel did as a 3.5.

Isaiah was a prophet who prophesied in Jerusalem from the death of Uzziah until the middle of Hezekiah's reign (740-701 BCE).  He was born into a noble family, closely connected with the royal court under Hezekiah, put to death by Manasseh.  He protested against moral laxity. He was for kindness, pity, and justice to the poor and underprivileged which is more important.  He taught that the hand of G-d is predominant in all historical events, even Assyria serving only as an instrument of Divine anger.  He opposed all treaties with neighboring states.  He said that Israel as the people of G-d must trust soley in Him.  The people of Israel will be punished for its sins but not exterminated;  a remnant will return and renew the link between G-d and the Land of Israel.

Isaiah is the seer of eternal peace at the end of the days when the Lord's Anointed shall judge the nations.

Gershom Gorenberg wrote a book called THE END OF DAYS-fundamentalism and the struggle for the Temple Mount in 2000. He said that a believing person knows that G-d exists and is good.  I say that each religion has a different concept of G-d and goodness.  He said that things happen in this world that simply don't fit with a good G-d.  I say that 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust.  Many Jews lost their belief from that, as many didn't.    His book is a clear-eyed and compelling account of the messianists, would be prophets, and adventurers who have fixed their sights on Jerusalem's holy places.

Then the New Testament Bible also has its warnings and referral to Jesus's 2nd coming.

The McMinnville UFO photographs, also known as the Trent UFO photos, were taken by a farming couple, Paul and Evelyn Trent near McMinnville, Oregon, ...on May 11,1950.
I have one more question about hints of this taking place.  What about  all the UFP's spotted by so many people lately?  Is that also a precursor of the End of Times?  I immediately thought of the angels that looked like people who med Abraham and Sarah at their tent and helped Sarah to be pregnant somehow.   A Christian writer said that a notable instance of their interaction with us is found in Genesis 6:4 with the arrival of the "sons of God." The Genesis account states that these powerful beings had sexual intercourse with women and produced a super race of beings known as the Nephilim. This sounds like what Greeks believed in.  The whole world believed in many gods at one time.  Only the Jews through Abraham decided there was only one source--one G-d.  This sounds like the stuff of science fiction, yet it is right there in the Bible. (To me, the bible is also a great history book.)  There are striking similarities between this account and the accounts of other ancient cultures. The writings of the ancient Sumerians, for example (who were the first to produce a written language) mention the presence of the “Anunnaki” who were deities that came from heaven to dwell on earth with men. It is also interesting to note that the Sumerians’ gods often came to them in the form of snakes.

What I see in the constant battle between Israel and Palestinians is not only political but mostly religiously originated.  We've also been battling the rest of the world for religious reasons as well.  I see that Spain just dropped their connections with Israel.  They   did the  same and exiled their Jewish citizens in 1492 with the Spanish Inquisition.  We wouldn't become Catholics or Protestants with Martin Luther.  We wouldn't convert to Islam.  We just want to remain as Jews and that's what so much of the world has held against us.  We've been the dumping ground for blaming all the evils of the world on us.

Beautiful Haifa where the Ba'hai found refuge.  The Bahai Gardens is possibly the most distinct tourist attraction in all of Haifa, and is very likely the most visited. Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists and locals alike travel to the Bahai Gardens on Mount Carmel in Haifa. This is the most holy site of the Bahai faith. Last year alone, 750,000 people enjoyed the beautiful terraces of the Bahai Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Isaiah's words are read as harbingers of a future better than anyone has ever known with the Moshiach's coming arrival.  And this has always been Israel's consolation, no matter how dreadful the circumstances.

Jews Waiting For The Moshiach

Nadene Goldfoot

The world is, according to Jewish history, 5,779 years old.  We use that on our calendars.   We're all Homo Sapiens who go back farther than written history over 100,000 years ago, but we feel that a special spark entered our mankind about this far back. We people are all connected to each other through our mothers who were but a handful of women living  tens of thousands of years ago.  It was only about 10,000 years ago that mammoths ruled the lands with cavemen and women.  They now say that Jews come from 4 unrelated women as well some time ago.

One of the greatest movies I remember was   10,000 BC which is now   a 2008 American epic adventure film from Warner Bros. set in the prehistoric era, about the journeys of a prehistoric tribe of mammoth hunters.
I love books by Jean M. Auel like THE SHELTERS OF STONE

Biblically:
"First, we know that the entire human race consisted of eight individuals at the end of the Flood, around 2350 BC. (This was about 4,369 years ago.) This was one “family,” but four were women who married into Noah’s line. So the maximum number of family lines who brought their genes onto the Ark was five (four potentially unrelated women, and one line of men.

Landed on moon 50 years ago
in 1969

We're at the height of the world's technical inventions and intelligence.  We've been to the moon, have sent a space ship to Mars, can give a person a new heart if his has worn out, such capabilities!  Yes, but the world is in desperate need of Messianic redemption.  So many belonging to Judaism, Christianity and Islam are waiting and expecting THE MESSIAH at any time now as this is considered THE END TIMES.  Maybe it's because things can't get any worse along with these great inventions.  We've got not only the atom bomb but the hydrogen bomb where we could blow up this lovely planet or at least harm it for centuries and make it unlivable.

People are at the point of hating each other though these 3 religions are meant to foster love and care for each other.  What is lacking, here?   What seems to be man's base nature, anyway?  Religion is supposed to make them better people.  The United States has been at each other's throats with an impending Republican Democrat Civil War.  The Middle East is constantly unsettled, now with Iran trying to take over the world, and Russia is involved with Venuzuela!  What a love affair that is turning out to be with the electric lights continually going out in this South American country.

Israeli doctors at Gaza fence giving medial aid

How are we to help the coming of the Messiah?  The best way is to love all humanity generously, and this already proves to be impossible for the whole world to follow.  Jews are also told that we need to keep the mitzvot of the Torah as best as we can, and to encourage others to do so, as well.  Perhaps the 10 basic rules are those to work on.  They are still hard to follow, even after Moses gave them to us about 3,300 years ago.  Our math skills may be great but not our inner empathy skills that separate us from our Neanderthal genes.
What other explanation can I give and still be nice?

The qualities of the Messiah as seen in Jewish literature  will be:

1. Born to human parents, have normal physical attributes like other people.  No supernatural qualities like Superman and will not be a demi-god as seen in Greek narratives.

2. Genetically, from his father's side he will be descended from King David.  This means to me that his Y haplogroup will show he is of the Cohen gene, a J1 or J2 .  It's only now that we can tell for sure just what the line of Kind David would be, and even that is not 100% to be trusted.  We have not sampled his body's cells to find his haplogroup.  We are trusting in the fact that at least half the Jewish men today carry this haplogroup.  The fact is that most men of the Middle East also carry this haplogroup, which gives credence to the Torah saying that there was Ishmael who was a son of Abraham and that Esau went off to live with Ishmael's people instead of staying with his twin, Jacob and his father, Isaac.  This makes them our cousins.

Rabbi Samson Wertheimer

Right now, genetic testing is not used to declare anything legally.  How one can prove someone is of King David's line without it would need quite a well developed tree to remain readable with the care that the Torah has had.  There are such trees, but continuing on to this day is rare.  There is one on Rabbi  Elijah ben Solomon-who went by the name of THE GAON OF VILNA.  His parents were Rabbi  Shlomo-Zalman who died in 1758 and wife Treina.  Another was Rabbi Samson Wertheimer born 1658 in Worms, Germany.  The tree of RASHI is still in existence and may be the one used.  Rashi -Rabbi Solomon Yitzhaki ben Isaac-born in Troyes, France in 1040 had a tree that did go back to King David and this was well known and well-used.  RASHI was about the best known commentator of our Bible and is still quoted in our prayer books.  Rabbi Wertheimer connected to Rashi as many others did as well.  In biblical days,
your genealogy was very important.  Serving in court systems depended on it.  I connect to this same Rabbi Wertheimer as many others do, too.

He will be a rabbi in that he will lead the Jewish people in full Torah observance.  Anyone coming to change the Torah in any way will immediately be identified as a false prophet, and we've had our share of those in more than one claim in the past.

3.  Prophetic passages in the Bible speak of a descendant of King David who will rule Israel during the age of perfection.  This Messiah most likely will be a citizen of Israel.  We will recognize the Messiah by seeing who the King of Israel is at the time of complete universal perfection.   Therefore it will have a lot to do with who the president or prime minister of Israel will be then, or king for that matter if reverting back to kingship should happen.

4.  What is his duty?  Role?  Messiah or Mashiach simply means the anointed one, a person in G-d's service who was anointed with oil as the initiation.  This is an ancient practice for every king and high priest was initiated into service with this prelude.  Prophecy from our prophets included a promise of a future age of perfection that would be of universal peace and the recognition of G-d.  This is because without G-d, the people would run amok and do wild things like sacrifice people in the hope for better weather, better crops, the appearance of herds of animals for food, and go wild during earthquakes with fear.  Today we again have many atheists who believe they have no need for the concept of a G-d in control of the world.  They have no concrete yardstick of measuring their behavior, which is something religion gives to others who do.  They have no answer to questions such as why do right or not do wrong other than their own civilization's rules.  The Mashiach's duty would be to establish the ushering in of this special period of universal peace.

  A.  He is to build the 3rd Temple.

B.  He will gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel.  (This has been going on already with the Israeli government.  We still have yet to bring in some Pashtuns from Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of India.  It may be that there are Christian groups from nearby neighboring states of Israel who also have a claim of being part of the Lost 10 Tribes or from the Babylonian Judaea, Benjamin group.)  Even the Palestinians may also claim to be Lost Tribal members.  The question is, do they want to become followers of the Torah?  Those that have already returned are.  Israel is a teeny state.  Need I say more?  I'm waiting on the Mashiach for that.  If some are left out, he is to do it.

C. Usher in an era of world peace and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease.  That is one big order.  It would have to be of the END OF TIMES for that to be fulfilled.  Involved would have to be a melding of politics, psychology, sociology, the medical profession, and science.  We're getting close.

For it says:  NATION SHALL NOT LIFT UP SWORD AGAINST NATION, NEITHER SHALL MAN LEARN WAR ANYMORE.  We can thank Isaiah's prophecy for that.

D. The Mashiach is to spread universal knowledge of the G-d of Israel, which will unite humanity as one.  As it says, "GOD WILL BE KING OVER ALL THE WORLD--ON THAT DAY, G-D WILL BE ONE AND HIS NAME WILL BE ONE.  The prophet Zechariah said that one.  This covers the fact that Jews have not prophesied at all, were not permitted by the laws of the new Roman Christian church.  Since then, every religion under the sun has been busy proselytizing to us Jews!  We haven't  appreciated this one iota since it hasn't shown any respect for our religion, which happens to be the parent religion of both Christianity and Islam, by the way.  So this last position on the Mashiach's list of to do's makes even me nervous.  I have a Christian friend who has been doing just this; and he follows Judaism, the Torah, studies it with a group, and remains a Christian.  He's a great person.  Perhaps this is what the Mashiach is to do, what his end goal is to be.  We cannot expect more.  I have a lady friend nearby who is also of the same belief.  So people are starting to inquire about the Torah and respect it.  I don't think we could have found even 2 people like this 100 years ago.

It will not be easy to find the Mashiach.  If an individual fails to fulfill even one of these conditions, then he cannot be THE MASHIACH.

The Mashiach we await will be the greatest prophet in our history, 2nd only to Moses.  This causes problems.  Prophecy can only exist in Israel when the land is being lived in by a majority of world Jewry, a situation which has not existed since 300 BCE.  Right now there are 6 million Jews living in Israel.

We have about 6 million in Israel and 6 million in the USA and 2 million elsewhere in the world, many of which are still in Europe.  During the time of Ezra when the majority of Jews refused to leave Babylon where they had been taken to by the Babylonians in 597 and again in 586 BCE, prophecy came to an official end upon the death of the last prophets-Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

Conditions today as far as anti-Semitism goes, is very bad throughout the world.  Europe again is the scene of a great deal of serious anti-Semitism.  The UN is one of the greatest producers of this thinking.  This is why such a little teeny state has gained such interest to people.  It's one reason why some people care what is happening to 0.02% of the world's population-the Jews.

One apparent sign is that the Jewish people have returned to the Land of Israel and made it bloom again.  A major movement is  that of young Jews returning to Torah tradition.   I've seen this happen in my own city and even in my own family.  I myself had made aliyah to Israel in 1980 and was able to stay for over 5 years.  As Jews become interested in their religion, hatred and accusations are developing such as in our own USA Congress against Jews and Israel.

Judaism is not a belief in miracles.  It's the history of the personal eyewitness experience that our ancestors had, all the men, women and children who stood at Mount Sinai 3,300 years ago.  What happened there were no miracles.  Our belief is not in miracles as then we would have lingering doubts.  Miracles can be performed through magic tricks.  What one might consider a miracle that he pulled in the desert he did because of necessity-and using some kind of basic science, and not as proof of his prophecy. We're a people who have been discouraged from believing in such things as miracles that are used as a base to cause a belief.

This comes to us through Maimonides, who was MOSES BEN MAIMON who was born in 1135 and died in 1204.  He was a philosopher, halakhist and medical writer.  Born in Cordova, Spain, he would be a Sephardic Jew.  He and his family escaped the Almohade persecutions.  See, anti-Semitism way back then in Spain was happening.   He arrived in Palestine in 1165 at age 30.  One thing he studied was logic;  our thinking skills.  He established a list of the 613 Precepts.  He suffered from the Crusades, kept from  settling in Palestine, so he and his family went to Egypt and later became the physician to the viceroy of Egypt.  He died at age 70 and was buried in Tiberias.  All his life he was a writer about Judaism.

I remember reading about several rabbis who were walking about looking at the small children, and asking themselves if this could be the Mashiach.  One never knows.

Madness Encompassing Many in Senseless Killings in Forecast

Nadene Goldfodot
Brandon Roy, former Blazers of Portland, OR, Shot in front of
Grandmother's home in the leg in California
As a senior citizen in the USA, I have been appalled at the senseless killings I am confronted with on the news I see on TV lately.  Every time I turn it on, the reporters are reporting another crazy killing of someone shooting others for apparently no reason.  It's always innocent people that have nothing to do with the shooter that gets killed.  They were just in the way.

I was talking about this just yesterday to my good friend and other grandmother of our shared grandson.  I said it was like there had been a virus or a gas let loose in the air and people are being affected and are going crazy.  Neither of us felt safe going anyplace anymore.  Too much has been happening.   So many shootings have been happening everywhere, but especially in places like Cleveland, Florida and Las Vegas.  What's going on?  Is it drugs?  The underachievers?  Lack of jobs?  Lack of parental control?  I wonder what is going on in places like Damascus, Syria where people are surrounded by rebels, soldiers, and ISIS?  Are Damascans dodging bullets?

Then this morning, what was the morning news?  Portland's former Blazer basketball star player, Brandon Roy was shot in California in an apparent gang shooting.  Brandon was an innocent bystander being it took place right in front of his grandmother's home and he was shielding some children and got shot in the leg.

All this anger, shown in shootings, politics, and problems taming Iran and North Korea have been forecast by people thousands of years ago in the 3 major religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.  This outburst of behaviors has been expected.  It's the foretelling of the Messiah, an entity each religion sees differently, telling of a time each sees through their own ideas that are quite different from each other.  However, each wants and expects their own idea of what a Messiah is.

The Mount of Olives which is in Israel is prophesied in the book of Zechariah as the place where the Messiah will show up at the end of this age and before the new expected period will begin.  Zechariah said in 12: 2,3, "Behold, I am making Jerusalem a cup of poison for all the peoples all around;  also Judah will take part in the siege of Jerusalem.  It shall be on that day that I  will make Jerusalem for all the peoples a burdensome stone, all whose bearers become lacerated;  and all the nations of the world will gather against it.  On that day---the word of Hashem---I will strike every horse with confusion and its rider with madness.

Jerusalem
But I will open My eyes to the House of Judah."

For those that don't know.  Jews of today are the people of Judah, one of the 12 tribes of Jacob that has survived.  Remember that Israel, made up of 10 of the 12 tribes,  were taken away as slaves when the Assyrians attacked in 722-721 BCE and conquered Israel.   Judah, the most southern tribe, was not attacked as they held off the invaders.  They were the largest tribe.

Stabbings in Jerusalem by Palestinians
The UN has been thumping against Israel after voting her in twice as an accepted country of the world; the first time through the League of Nations;  2nd time being May 14, 1948 when it was officially through the UN, voted on and accepted after Israel's announcement of being formed as Israel once again.  Even today, after the Palestinians have continually attacked Israelis and express their plan of taking over the land of Israel, UN members insist on allowing them to create a state right alongside Israel.  It's as if they are doing everything in their power to allow the Palestinians the opportunity to meet their goal of getting rid of Israel and its 6 million Jews.  The Palestinians have been refusing to stop attacking and change their attitude, shown in everything they do from naming parks for murderers of Israelis to teaching such hatred in their schools and changing the maps to show Arab ownership instead of the Jewish.  They are manufacturing their own kind of history by denying that Jews were ever in the land.  Israel is asking that they stop acting like this before they are rewarded their own state on former Israeli land of Israel and Judah.  That was expected to happen many years ago and hasn't happened.  In fact, aggression always steps up against Israel.  The only change I see is that Syria and Iraq are no more the countries they were, but are being taken over by ISIS, an extremely violent group who cuts off people's heads with similar violent religious views.

In another piece of Jewish literature, the Yalkut Shimoni, we read the warning of a conflict in the Middle East involving the Arab nations and Persia-today's Iran. This is a midrashic collection relating to all the books of the Bible, compiled by Simeon Ha-Darshan presumably of Frankfort-on Main in the 13th century.  The work preserves many sections from Midrashim which are no longer extant.   This is amazing because it tells exactly what's happening today.  Iran has been repeatedly threatening Israel with atomic bombs being carried on their missiles and being destroyed.  Not only by missiles but Iran has been supplying the surrounding enemies of Israel with weapons just for this purpose.

The writings continue to say that the Persian conflict will cause Israel to be in fear.  This true statement is shown to have happened when Prime Minister Netanyahu flew to Washington DC and begged the Senate-those who respected him enough to attend, for the Democrats did not, to not give Iran the advantage in the Iran Deal that they were working on.  His fears have been ignored and the worst deal possible had been made, allowing Iran to most likely reach their goal within the next 10 years.  North Korea, who had helped Iran with the creation of their missiles, keeps testing theirs, hoping they will be able to reach the USA.

The Yalkut Shimoni prophecy leads to the final redemption through the coming of the Messiah king.
The term is originally Hebrew, pronounced as mashiah or moshiach.  It means the Anointed One, the ultimate deliverer.  It's in the Bible and used as an adjective referring to kings, etc. who have been anointed;  therefore one who has received divine sanction and a unique inviolability of status.  High priests were also anointed.  Jews see the moshiach as a man, a strong leader, general, king, president.
Not all people are aware of the times we are living in.  So many do not believe anything written in any of the Old testament today.  They just consider it Old and not applicable.  Othodox Jews do and are aware of the period we are in.

According to other Jewish writings, the coming of the Messiah will be preceded by days of spiritual decline and trouble.  Rabbi Sokolovsky, in his book "Prophecy and Providence," quotes a number of passages from the Talmud speaking of times of distress during the Ikveta d'Meshicha (the heels of Messiah, the days before the coming of the Messiah).

"Tragedy will come upon you at the end of all the days."  Targum Yonathan.
"during the Ikveta d'Meshicha, insolence will abound.  The young will make the faces of the elderly grow ashen with shame;  the elderly will have to rise before the young;  sons will disgrace fathers;  daughters will rise up against their mothers;  the members of one's family will become his enemies."  Sotah 49b.  I've seen families divided over our latest Presidential election.  The failure of Hillary Clinton being elected has caused much hatred to erupt.  She was just interviewed and it was being shown on today's news.  She accepted responsibility but then blamed acts of others that caused people to not vote for her, which was originally brought about by her insisting on having own server in her home for email while the Secretary of State.  The domino theory of events took place after this was known that her world fell apart.

Right now the world does seem to be falling apart in many avenues.  Drugs are no longer against the law but big business.  People have turned against Israel's existence.  Socialism is being accepted in a Democratic country.  Orange is the new black.  Alice in Wonderland fell down the hole and can't get out.  Everything is topsy turvy.    Even we seniors are prey to those trying to make a buck in an illegal way.  I hate to see life getting any worse.  We're ripe for the Moshiach to come along any time.

Moshiah's Arrival and IS's Destruction

Nadene Goldfoot

Like his father and uncle, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky is considered one of the greatest scholars of our generation, and thousands of people each week, in person and through the mail, seek his blessing, halachic guidence, and personal advice.

One report is that Saturday, September 12, 2015 has been named as the arrival of the Moshiach,  said Rabbi Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim Kanievsky in Israel.  This happens to be the end of the sabbatical year.

This happens to be an important event, ending a period where every 7 years, the soil  is not worked, but gets to rest.  Any crops in the 7th year or year of release are communal property.  The year following 7 fallow years is the 50th year or the Jubilee when cultivation is also prohibited, slaves are freed, and land reverts to its original owner. (7 X 7=49.  49 +1=50th year.  ) In Hebrew the word is shemittah, meaning "fallow."  The next "Shemitah" or "Biblical Sabbatical Year" runs from:
September 25, 2014 until… September 13, 2015.
Jerusalem was restored: the past 49  (7 X 7) prophetic years since 1967.
Leviticus 25 promises bountiful harvests to those who observe the Shemitah, and describes its observance as a test of religious faith.

The Hebrew people count and observe 7 year cycles. Every cycle would fulfill a "Sabbatical Year known as a "Shemitah" or "Shmitah" and means, "to release!"

Right now he is urging Jews to return to Israel before his arrival.    With all the attacks of anti-Semitism in France which caused 7,000 French Jews to make aliyah last year, he feels the arrival of the Moshiach is imminent.  3,000 more are expected to arrive throughout this summer.  Parents want to arrive before school starts to let their children settle in first.  Evidently they don't see the situation improving.

The rabbi  is from a very religious section in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak.  He was born January 8, 1928 in Pinsk, Russia to a well known rabbi, Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, and is the father of 3 rabbis.

His area of expertise is that he is a posek, one that is an expert in the codification of the laws.  Among his many published works are the laws of the Jewish Temple Rites.  "His mind is encyclopedic.  His advice is sought everywhere."

In Safed, Israel's Old City is the Joseph Caro Synagogue.  He was the rabbi who wrote the Shulhan Arukh.  Joseph Caro followed Alfasi, Maimonides and Asher ben Jehiel in their decisions.  Moses Isserles added to this work supplementary notes giving the views of Ashkenazi scholars and incorporating their customs that were omitted by Caro.  Ashkenazi Jews follow the former and and Sephardim the latter.  Their codes have been combined and accepted as standard by all Orthodox Jews.  Subsequent legal codifications have not found general acceptance, so it is interesting that Rabbi Kanievsky has made recent inroads. to this procedure.  The role of the posek is found especially in haredi Judaism.

We have Haridi rabbis  living in the USA telling their followers not to go to Israel.  "So here goes perhaps the greatest Charedi Rabbi alive today named Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky  who has declared clearly and unequivocally that is it’s a “Mitzvah Dioraita” meaning a biblically ordained commandment to ascend to the Land of Israel today!"  How's that for a turnabout?

It may also be of interest that in the latest bible code deciphered, ISIS will be destroyed by 2016.  That means the moshiach is to arrive first.  I wonder if he will have anything to do with ISIS being destroyed?  According to  Rabbi Matiyahu Glazerson, an expert in the Bible Code, he is suggesting that IS will be destroyed by the messiah, the son of Joseph, called the Mashiach Ben Yosef.   He is the predecessor of the Messiah, son of David, who is the real Messiah. " Ben David) is  the ultimate redeemer of the Jewish people.   Glazerson explained that Mashiach Ben Yosef “will fight the evil forces against Israel.”

One can disagree with a rabbi in such good standing without any repercussions.   Harry Maryles did so on his website, and he had valid reasons.  Harry felt that the rabbi's age meant that the rabbi was not in tune with certain things of this day and age such as computers or cell phones which makes certain rulings invalid.  One cannot do such things in Iran where you have one Ayatollah who rules the whole state with an iron fist.  There many are hung every day for their attitudes.

Rabbi Kaduri was a renowned Mizrahi Haredi rabbi and kabbalist who devoted his life to Torah study and prayer on behalf of the Jewish people
Then again, other rabbis in Israel also are zeroing in on the coming moshiach and expecting him soon.  In 2013,   "Rabbi Kaduri also added that few people in Israel will recognize the Moshiach by intuition: not well known rabbis will recognize the identity of the Moshiach, but there are only a few people who can recognize the ability to lead – without the ability to explain their recognition!

Rabbi Kaduri: when the Moshiach will be revealed, many people will be surprised and they will ask: "is he really the chosen Moshiach"?"

"Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri was known for his photographic memory and his memorization of the Bible, the Talmud, Rashi and other Jewish writings. He knew Jewish sages and celebrities of the last century and rabbis who lived in the Holy Land and kept the faith alive before the State of Israel was born. He lived to be 108, almost unheard of today.  He's the rabbi some thought had said that Jesus was the moshiach, and that has since been found to be a false rumor.  Rabbi Tovia Singer has examined the note and has found it to be a forgery.  Kaduri would have never written such a note besides the fact of being done by someone else.  What is happening  is that Christians are using this as their proof. What the note is made up of are 6 words, and the first letter of each word spells out Yeshua.  Interesting that one feels it would have to be a mystery answer within a note and be understood as a direct fact from a highly respected rabbi.  Just watch Tovia Singer's video.

“When he comes, the Messiah will rescue Jerusalem from foreign religions that want to rule the city,” Kaduri once said. “They will not succeed for they will fight against one another.”

Update:  Rabbi Kaduri's son and grandson do not believe that this note which has lain unopened and supposedly in a safe place was written by the well known Rabbi Kaduri since it goes against everything he has taught.  Neither does Rabbi Tovia Singer.  The note is a scrawled 6 word phrase which Christians are looking at and assuming there is the acronym, the taking of the first letter of each word, which spells out Yeshua-or Jesus.  Right now, my answer is that it is one of 2 things, either the actual note the rabbi in clear mind, wrote and wanted to be read as an acronym for what reason we don't know, or--it's definitely a planted forgery meant to convince the Jewish people that Jesus is god and the savior of mankind--of which Jews have never felt the need for.  My opinion is with Rabbi Tovia Singer for many reasons, and that being my own understanding of the messiah.
