Biased Anti-Israel Woman Activist In North Carolina Running For Congressional Position

 Nadene Goldfoot

The last thing we need in Congress is to be populated by people who are already anti-Israel activists.  That means that they are already biased, coming in as people who will vote every time against anything friendly about Israel. Nida Allam in Durham, North Carolina has been spotted as just such a woman.

Allam has been checked out by researcher, Peter Reitzes, speech-language pathologist, author and reporter for Algemeiner of Chapel Hill, NC. but who works in Durham.   She won a seat as Durham County Commissioner in  2020.  Now she's filed and is running for Representative  David Price's seat who is a Democrat, so Democrats of North Carolina, please note who you are voting for and what they stand for.  Quote Peter Reitzes, "I first researched Allam during her 2019 campaign for County Commissioner, due to her anti-Israel positions. What I found was a history of abhorrent statements that extended far beyond Israel.

"In 2019, Allam tweeted a picture of herself standing with a Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), an anti-Zionist group sign.  "Jewish Voice for Peace is a left-wing activist organization in the United States that supports the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign against Israel. Its critics say it musters Jewish opposition to and works to undermine public support for Israel."  In other words, they are anti-Israel.  How disgusting a group they are who use their name as a ruse to cover what they really stand for.  Noam Chomsky is on their board.  No wonder!  He's a man born Jewish but has never understood what that means at all.  He's what I call a self-hater and an anti-Semite.  JVP has come under criticism from other Jewish groups that have branded the movement not only as anti-Semitic but also traitorous.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) describes JVP as “a radical anti-Israel activist group that advocates for a complete economic, cultural and academic boycott of the state of Israel.”

A little background about Allam.  She was born in Ottawa, Canada to a father from India and a mother from Pakistan. "A devout Muslim, she did not begin wearing the hijab full-time until she was in eighth grade."  She is the first Muslim to run for public office in North Carolina.

That in itself isn't a bad thing at all.  One of my best friends is a Syrian Muslim who is very open-minded, highly intelligent  and  loves Jewish people.   I haven't heard from him in a long time, though.  Hope he's okay.  He is a rarity, I might add.

However, Allam is openly biased and is being extremely anti-Semitic. She has accused pro-Israel advocates of “allegiance to a foreign country” at a public event in an open letter.  Allam has repeatedly promoted her close ties with noted antisemite Linda Sarsour, calling Sarsour “my shero, role-model, mentor, and so much more.”  "Sarsour has been widely criticized for advocating for the destruction of Israel via the BDS movement and other means, saying, “Nothing is creepier than Zionism,” and advising Muslims not to “humanize” Israelis."

"Bob Gutman, a Jewish leader in Durham, said: “In her bid for local office, Nida Allam [ran on] an anti-Israel position. She has served for less than a year as a County Commissioner, and in that time, Allam has caused painful division in the city. Now she wants to leave Durham and take a seat with The Squad.”"  Then she'll be able to influence not only Durham County but Orange County as well.  In her short political career, Nida Allam has alienated both black and Jewish constituents. North Carolinians need a representative who will foster peace and cooperation. Instead, Allam offers hate and division."

One thing that is hurtful to me is that Allam worked as a political director for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign.  Bernie, born a Jew,  is another self-hater in that he never stands for Israel that I have seen, and really didn't need anymore help from another anti-Israeli Muslim.  I imagine that Bernie thought she was just right.  My problem isn't with them, it's that they can induce others who are not prejudiced yet to be infected with their prejudice against Israel.
