Loeb was born in Beit Hanan, Israel in 1962 and took part in the national Talpiot program before receiving a PhD in plasma physics at age 24 from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1986. From 1983 to 1988 he led the first international project supported by the U.S. Strategic Defense Initiative. Between 1988 and 1993, Loeb was a long-term member at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, where he started to work in theoretical astrophysics. In 1993, he moved to Harvard University as an assistant professor in the department of astronomy, where he was tenured three years later.
Avi, an Israeli American Harvard professor, is now the latest to publicly jump on the alien bandwagon...alleging that our solar system was visited in 2017...and will likely soon be visited again.
He's the chair of Harvard's Department of Astronomy, and believes he's already found some of that garbage that has come into our system.
In his upcoming book, "Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth" (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), out Jan. 26, the professor lays out a compelling case for why an object that recently wandered into our solar system was not just another rock but actually a piece of alien technology! However, "In July 2019, astronomers reported that ʻOumuamua was an object of a "purely natural origin". This came after speculation of ʻOumuamua being an alien object.
The object in question traveled toward our solar system from the direction of Vega, a nearby star 25 light-years away, and intercepted our solar system’s orbital plane on Sept. 6, 2017. A picture of it looks something like a cigar or a log washed up on Cannon beach that had been through a fire, now called ‘Oumuamua."which is Hawaiian for — roughly — “scout.” . It was named this because it was spotted by an observatory in Hawaii.
Loeb said. “If we are not alone, are we the smartest kids on the block? If there was a species that eliminated itself through war or changing the climate, we can get our act together and behave better. Instead, we are wasting a lot of resources on Earth fighting each other and other negative things that are a big waste.”
Since ‘Oumuamua’s appearance, a second interstellar object known as 2I/Borisov was spotted entering the solar system by a Crimean telescope in 2019. But that turned out to be a plain old comet.
In June 2020, Loeb was sworn in as a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) at the White House. In December 2012, TIME magazine selected Loeb as one of the 25 most influential people in space. In 2015, Loeb was appointed as the Science Theory Director for the Breakthrough Initiatives of the Breakthrough Prize Foundation. In 2018, he attracted media attention for suggesting that alien space craft may be in our solar system, using the anomalous behavior of 'Oumuamua as an example. In 2019, and together with his Harvard undergraduate student, Amir Siraj, Loeb reported discovering a meteor that potentially originated outside the Solar System.
A former Israeli government official, born in 1933, says extraterrestrials have been in contact with Earth, and that President Donald Trump is aware of an agreement between the U.S. and the aliens. Haim Eshed, who headed Israel’s space security programs for 30 years, has been in the spotlight in recent days, after claiming that aliens exist, that Israel and the US have long been in contact with them, and that Donald Trump was going to blab but the extraterrestrial beings of the “Galactic Federation” stopped him.
The official, Haim Eshed, is the former head of Israel’s Defense Ministry’s space directorate and made his comments during an interview with the Yediot Aharonot newspaper. Eshed is a respected professor and retired general, according to NBC News.
The Unidentified Flying Objects have asked not to publish that they are here, humanity is not ready yet," claims Eshed. A respected professor and retired general, Eshed said the aliens were equally curious about humanity and were seeking to understand "the fabric of the universe." Eshed remarked that Trump knew about them.

In 1967 Eshed was awarded the Chief of Staff Citation, the highest non-combat decoration awarded by the IDF. Throughout his career he also received the Israel Defense Prize - the highest civilian defense honor of the State of Israel - three times, but the reasons remain classified.
Eshed served at the highly secretive Unit 81, which provided technological solutions to the IDF's Military Intelligence Directorate.
In 2020, Eshed became notable for promoting a UFO conspiracy theory claiming that world governments were secretly working with aliens.
Current chairman of the Israel Space Agency, Isaac ben Israel, was of a different opinion. "He thinks that Eshed arrived at his theory invoking real information, including records of non-coherent signals from space, but interpreted it wrongly.
“There is a lot of information gathered by Americans and it’s a matter of interpretation,” said Ben-Israel. “Most people including myself interpret everything reported as natural phenomena; some people interpret it as something different. If you have a very creative mind, you push toward the second option.”
The policy calls for the NASA administrator to “lead an innovative and sustainable program of exploration with commercial and international partners to enable human expansion across the solar system and to bring back to Earth new knowledge and opportunities.” The effort will more effectively organize government, private industry, and international efforts toward returning humans on the Moon, and will lay the foundation that will eventually enable human exploration of Mars.
