How Osage Tribal Members Declare War on Tribe of DOGE

Chief Standing Bear of the Osage Nation signs the fee-to-trust agreement.  The Osage Nation Reservation is located in northeast Oklahoma and was established in 1870.

The Osage Indian Tribal members could have all suffered heart attacks with high blood pressures  as the lopping of Federal funds reached their reservation population members.

Tribal leaders scrambled Tuesday to respond to the abrupt decision by the Trump administration to freeze federal grants and loans, a move that could impact more than $1 billion in federal funding in tribal communities for health care, education, climate projects, agriculture, law enforcement and other programs.

For the Osage Nation, photography has harmed.....and healed .  The Osage women were swindled out of the holdings, their money by the White Man, and they're not about to be swindled again by the Federal Government's Elon Musk and his band of merry men.

One lady had her money in their account through the tribe.  She was told it was frozen.  She cannot draw it out and needs it to pay for her assisted living quarters.  Money held by the tribe has always been protected by the Federal government, not stolen away by them.

“The Trump Administration’s funding freeze is not only reckless and flagrantly illegal — it is a direct assault on Tribal communities, rural America, and vulnerable populations across the country,” U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, a Democrat from Maine, said in a statement.

The Osage Nation is a Native American tribe, part of the Dhegiha branch of the Siouan linguistic stock, with ancestral territories in what is now Oklahoma, and they are known for their rich history, culture, and the discovery of oil on their reservation which led to their wealth.

The Osage Tribe, a branch of Sioux Tribal origins, have declared war on the Federal Government.  If you watched Killers of the Flower Moon in disbelief, you weren’t alone. After the movie premiered, Google searches for “Osage” increased 75%, and one of the most searched-for phrases was “is Killers of the Flower Moon true?” This is often the reaction whenever a little-known chapter of our history is made into media for public consumption. But the story—and proof of it—have been in the National Archives for decades.  Yes, it's true.

You're witnessing the war dance of the Osage Nation here on their reservation in Oklahoma. Who are they going to war against? Their new enemy is called the Tribe of DOGE.

DOGE has just ordered the closure of 25 Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) offices, including the Osage Agency in Pawhuska, OK. It is devastating to the self-determination, the sovereignty of the Osage Nation. This is the beginning of a new Trail of Tears.

Is this how our government treats their family?  Their friends?

The Osage Minerals Council said in a statement March 2 that it "opposes and rejects" a plan by the U.S. Department of Governmental Efficiency  (DOGE) to close the Pawhuska office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.  Dating back to 1906. when surface property in what is now Osage County was allotted, the Osage tribe retained control of the subsurface, including but not limited to resources such as petroleum and natural gas.

Evidently the Federal government have been terminating many Indian tribes, but not the Osage.  They are a viable tribe , now producing some lawyers who are knowledgeable about their history and wish to preserve it.

Under the unofficial Department of Government Efficiency, Bureau of Indian Affairs offices are undergoing sudden and unexpected layoffs and closures across the state of Oklahoma. Tribal leaders are taking matters into their own hands to mitigate the impact on their citizens.

Following numerous layoffs across Indian Country earlier this week, agencies across Oklahoma in Watonga, Pawnee, Seminole, Osage and Carnegie were listed for closure on DOGE’s ‘Wall of Receipts.’ Additionally, layoffs were reported at the Miami Agency, with 15 employees losing their jobs.
