                                                Islamic Jihad Terrorists

Israel found out that Tayseer al-Jabari of the Islamic Jihad terrorists, was reportedly involved in planning imminent major attacks on Israel, including the use of lethal anti-tank missiles close to the border. Islamic Jihad had been planning a major attack on Israel.  Israeli security forces arrested Palestinian Islamic Jihad senior member Bassam al-Saadi in Jenin. Jabari replaced Baha Abu Al-Ata, who was killed in a similar airstrike in November 2019. Other senior Islamic Jihad figures were killed in well-conducted strikes over the weekend, including Islamic Jihad’s southern division commander Khaled Mansour.

Israel’s southern communities had been in a lockdown since last Tuesday, Jerusalem Post reported on August 7th after the arrest. it lasted  66 hours and ended with a ceasefire on Sunday (August 7).
1,100 rockets launched towards Israel.  990 rockets of them made it into Israel.  200+ fell into Gaza.  380 of them intercepted by Iron Dome with a 96% success rate.

The Israeli tactical mission that used smart bombs to target terror.  Israel does not just bomb an area like the terrorists do to Israel.  Many of the terrorists bombs fell back into Gaza, and they are the ones that killed their own children and other civilians.  Israel held off from many of their strikes when they saw children in the way or any civilians.

How did the current round of tensions begin?

1. As per the IDF, on Monday, August 1, it "apprehended the Head of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in Judea and Samaria."

2. Israeli intelligence identified a direct threat from Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip who had threatened retaliation. As a result, "precautionary measures were taken to protect civilians in southern Israel."

3. "After the threat of a terrorist attack continued through Friday afternoon," the IDF officially started Operation ‘Breaking Dawn’.

The Operation Breaking Dawn was a military operation launched by the Israel Defense Forces, which was planned to last for one week. The operation followed  a raid in Jenin in Judea-Samaria, in which Israeli forces arrested Bassam al-Saadi, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader in that area.

On 1 August, Israeli forces arrested Bassem al-Saadi, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine leader in the West Bank (Judea-Samaria). In the aftermath of the attack, amid heightened tensions, roads were closed in the south of Israel by the Israeli-Gaza border wall and reinforcements were sent south after threats of attack from Gaza. The same day, Israeli communities in southern Israel were placed in lockdown by the military as a security precaution against attack from Gaza, as, according to Israel, the PIJ had positioned anti-tank missiles and snipers at the border to kill Israeli civilians and soldiers.

Al Saadi will no doubt go to jail or prison and then he will be paid by the PA for being there.  Terrorists receive pay that way for killing Jews.  With all the red tape, Israel hasn't been able to do anything about it-yet.

On 3 August, Khaled al-Batsh, head of the politburo of the PIJ in Gaza said: "We have every right to bomb Israel with our most advanced weapons, and make the occupier pay a heavy price. We will not settle for attacking around Gaza, but we will bomb the center of the so-called State of Israel."

Early on 5 AugustTor Wennesland, the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, reportedly visited the home of al-Saadi in Jenin and met with his family members as part of efforts to prevent an escalation between Israel and the PIJ. Later that day, Wennesland issued a statement expressing concern over the "ongoing escalation between Palestinian militants and Israel", and calling on all sides to prevent further escalation.

After a truce, brokered by Egypt was agreed upon, the IJ

terrorists fired more rockets.  Finally they stopped.

(JAAFAR ASHTIYEH / AFP).  This is a problem when Israel defends itself by ending the attacks, those Palestinians in Israel and in Judea-Samaria become more than agitated and act out.  Thus the burning tires.

The operation comes with tensions in the West Bank already heightened due to the violence in Gaza. The three-day flareup was touched off after Israel arrested a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist in the West Bank, sparking Israeli fears of a revenge attack and the eventual tit-for-tat battle.

Israel stopped a major attack by Islamic Jihadist Terrorists.  Hamas terrorists stayed out of it this time.  It cost Israelis having to spend 3 days in the bomb shelters , but it saved their lives, too.  Israel has warned that it won't allow such attacks to take place. Terrorists would rather attack and kill than make peace.
