Walking From Egypt To Israel For Moses and Exodus and Today

 Nadene Goldfoot

Notice Edom and Moab in relation to water and Judah

While the general geography is recognizable, the physical landscape has undergone subtle changes over thousands of years.  Water Bodies: Some scholars believe the coastline of the Gulf of Suez gradually receded over centuries, meaning the exact crossing point of the "Red Sea" (or "Reed Sea") might have looked different (possibly marshier) at the time of the Exodus than it does today. Water Tables: The water tables and general availability of water sources have likely changed significantly since the Early Iron Age, affecting agricultural potential and settlement patterns.
  • Wandering Route: The land the Israelites traveled through during the 40 years in the wilderness (the Sinai Peninsula and Transjordan plateau) is also a region that modern Israel has only briefly controlled at various times in its recent history (such as the Sinai after the 1967 war, which was later returned to Egypt).
  • Biblical Boundaries: According to passages in Genesis and Exodus, the ideal boundaries extended from the "River of Egypt" (likely the Wadi el-Arish, not the Nile) to the Euphrates River. This territory would encompass all of modern-day Israel, including Gaza and the West Bank, as well as significant portions of Jordan, Syria, and even a small part of modern Saudi Arabia and Iraq.  Maybe that's what these countries were worried about-losing their countries!

The land from Egypt to Israel, historically the Sinai Peninsula and Canaantransitions from Egypt's fertile Nile delta to arid desert, crossing the Sinai's rocky expanse (often depicted as the Red Sea crossing point, perhaps the Gulf of Suez or Aqaba) into the hills, valleys, and Mediterranean coast of the Levant, a land bridge rich in ancient history, contrasting sharply with Egypt's irrigated agriculture, relying more on rain and diverse terrain.

The Sinai Desert has a hot, arid desert climate with extreme temperature swings, featuring scorching summers (up to 32°C/90°F) and cool winters (down to 2°C/36°F in mountains), very low rainfall, and significant regional differences, with cooler, wetter winters in the Mediterranean north and mountainous south, while coastal areas see higher humidity and strong, dry Shamal winds, but climate change is bringing more erratic heavy rains and drought.

The path involves crossing the vast, harsh Sinai wilderness, featuring mountains, desert plains, and nomadic routes, leading eventually to the fertile "Promised Land,"

Edom (also called Idumea) also (Mount Seir)  land in southeast, with mountainous and easily fortified terrain and bordered on the Red Sea at Elath and Ezion Geber.  The Edomites were of Semitic origin, descendants of Esau, lived by hunting.

Moab: lies in southern Transjordan, the land for "field"  of Moab is bounded by the river Heshbon in the north and the river Zered in the south, the Jordan and Dead Sea to the west.  and the Syrian Desert on the east.  The Moabites were also kindred to the Israelites, being traditionally descended-- like the Ammonites--from Lot (Gen. 19:37).  Their language was akin to biblical Hebrew.  they settled in their land which had been captured from the Rephaim (Deut.2: 10-11).

During the Exodus Period, part of this territory came under the rule of the Amorite monarch, Sihon, but after his defeat by the Israelites.  The land was occupied by Israel and became an object of contention between Israel, Moab and Ammon.

Originally divided up into small tribes, the Moabites united into a single kingdom, and it was their 2nd ruler, Balak, who summoned Balaam to curse the Israelites. Under their king Eglon, the Moabites extended their territory to the Jericho region until Eglon was killed by Ehud, a judge from the tribe of Benjamin.  King David conquered Moab (II Sam. 8:2)   which remained under the suzerainty of the Northern Kingdom down to  the rebellion of Mesha of Moab (II Kings. 1:1) also read about the Moabite Stone.  In the reign of Tiglath-Pileser III, Moab became an Assyrian province.

Sinai Wilderness The Wilderness of Sinai is a rugged, mountainous desert region in the Sinai Peninsula, best known as the biblical setting for the Israelites' journey after the Exodus from Egypt. It is here that Moses received the Ten Commandments on what is traditionally identified as Mount Sinai (Jebel Musa). The wilderness is described as a harsh and challenging environment, symbolizing a time of testing, divine revelation, and the establishment of God's covenant with the Israelites, according to sources like Bible HubDr. Claude Mariottini, and Wisdom Library.

The people who attacked the Israelites during the Exodus, specifically targeting the rear guard of the old, sick, and weary, were the Amalekites.

They were always hostile to Israel, a nomadic people who wandered between the southern land and Canaan, attacked the Israelites in the desert near Rephidim shortly after the Exodus, annihilating the weak and weary.

Joshua finally defeated them with the Israelite army (Exod.7: 8-13).

Highway 10 is a road in the South District of Israel. It is one of the longest routes in Israel, extending for nearly the entire border of Israel with Egypt from the Gaza Strip in the north to Sayarim junction in the south. Under a military security advisory, its entire 113-mile length is almost permanently off-limits to civilian traffic.

The route begins in the north with the communities of Hevel Eshkol in the west, nearest to the Sinai Desert. The northern terminus is the intersection with Route 232 near Kerem Shalom. From there, it continues south adjacent to the border with Egypt. It passes by Nitzana and the Nitzana border crossing.

Highway 10 intersects with Route 211, which leads east toward Yeruham and Sde Boker. Farther south, Highway 10 intersects with Route 171, which leads east toward Mizpe Ramon.

The route continues south until Sayarim junction, where it meets Highway 12 in the mountains near Eilat. Highway 12 continues south to Eilat.

A rerouting of part of the highway was approved by Israeli planning authorities in 2012. A 30-kilometer (18.6 miles) -long section of the highway will be relocated east, further away from Israel's border with Egypt than the original route. Originally, the plan had called for two lanes of traffic in either direction. After appeals from the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel and other conservationists, who argued that the new highway would profoundly impact the local dune-based environment, the plan was modified to one traffic lane in either direction.

People have walked from Egypt to Israel, but it's a challenging desert trek requiring significant water and logistical planning, often following routes similar to the biblical Exodus through the Sinai Peninsula, though modern travel is mostly by vehicle due to dangers like ISIS activity and water scarcity in the desert, with the journey typically involving crossing the Sinai to Eilat/Taba and then entering Israel.

While there isn't a widely reported recent mass walk from Egypt to Israel, thousands of people, primarily Israelis returning home and Palestinians fleeing Gaza, have crossed the Egypt-Israel border (Taba/Eilat & Rafah crossings) by land recently, often using buses or cars, with some walking short distances within border areas, especially during conflict periods. Specific "walks" are less common than vehicle crossings, but movement through the Sinai to Eilat (Taba crossing) happens regularly for travelers, and

during crises, people walk to the Rafah crossing to exit Gaza, as seen in late 2023/2024.

added 10:49am 12/7/2025:  The distance from Egypt to Israel varies greatly by location, but the direct land border across the Sinai Peninsula is about 128 to 206 miles (206-330 km) long, while a common driving route from Cairo to Jerusalem is around 250-300 miles, taking a few hours, though the biblical journey for Israelites took decades, symbolizing spiritual wandering, not just physical distance.

After 3,000 Years; the 12 Tribes of Israel Meeting Each Other Again

Nadene Goldfoot

Pashtuns of Afghanistan and Pakistan Visit Jerusalem
a revered City of David, King of Israel (1010-970 BCE) son of Jesse of
the tribe of Judah.
It was some 200 years later when the ancestors of Pashtuns were taken away
by the Assyrians in 722-721 BCE.  The 1st king they knew was Saul, Israel's
first king, son of Kish of the tribe of Benjamin
They lived in Israel with King Solomon (961-920 BCE) who was
David's son.  The Pashtuns were the 10 Northern Tribes comprising
Jacob's descendants of his 12 sons as we understand today.

How big do you think Israel is?  President Bush was shocked that it was so small, saying it could fit into a part of his Texas ranch.

"Prairie Chapel Ranch is a 1,583-acre (6.4 km²) ranch in unincorporated McLennan County, Texas, located 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Crawford (about 25 miles(40 km) from Waco). The property was acquired by George W. Bush in 1999 and was known as the Western White House during his presidency."   Actually, the ranch is as big as 2.473438 sq miles big, 1/4 the size of Israel.  The state of Texas is made of 268,597 sq miles.
Afghanistan is made of 252,072 sq miles.
Pakistan is made of 307,374 sq miles.
USA is made of 3.797 million sq miles.

The USA has gained Alaska and Hawaii, making 50 United States.  The lower 48 is shown above.

It was slightly smaller than the American state of New Jersey ( shown on the map as a piece of the coastline to the east of Pennsylvania-the yellow state), but with its territories gained back since 1967's ultimate attack by all the surrounding Arab nations it now has 10,762 sq. miles.

Their population in 2006 was 7,026,000.  According to the CIA of the USA, Israel's population was 6,353,117 including 187,000 new residents in Judea-Samaria (West Bank) and 20,000 in the Golan Heights and then the 177,000 in East Jerusalem which would be an Arab population.  Of these Jews, 76.4% were Israeli born Jews
22.6% European-born Jews
5.9% African-born Jews
4.7% Asian born Jews
23.6% non-Jews (Gentiles) which again would be the Arab population (mixed Christian, Muslims)

When Israel was created on May 14, 1948, they had 600,000 Jews, the very same number that Moses had brought to the Promised Land he had brought his Jews of the Exodus to live.  Ironically, Jews lost 6,000,000 (million) Jews in the WWII's Holocaust.

As of on September 22, 2018, Israel's population was 8,485,501 and the area covers 20,770 sq km or 8,019 sq miles; 8 thousand sq miles is not very big.

Compare this population with Mexico City which had 8,720,916 that same year in the inner part of their city proper.  Actually Greater Mexico City had the population of 19.2 million people.  The total area of Israel was 20,770 sq km which includes 440 sq m of water, or 8,000 some sq miles that makes up Israel, almost divided in half.

Moses and the 10 Commandments

Why must Jews live in their ancient of Israel today?  Why there?  Because their blood-line is from the Middle East, not from Bush's ranch in the USA.  Their original ancestors came from the area around the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and had moved Westward in an Exodus to Ur, of today's Iraq as the group that Terah and his son, Abram had belonged to.  From Ur and Abram we get the command through Moses from G-d that we were to return to Canaan and live there, a place Jacob, Abram's grandson, had been living.  Jacob is the one who, after wrestling with an angel, was named ISRAEL.

The Bible is our compass, the Tanakh, that is, comprised of the 5 Books of Moses and the prophets, the Old Testament to Christians.  This is our story and our destiny.  Moses is our teacher.  With him, our ancestors traveled for 40 years learning about themselves and what their job was to do.  It included teaching their descendants, and here we are, a pared-down group of descendants of which less than half, 6 million,  are now living in Israel with another 6 million in the USA and 2 million still scattered in other parts of the world.  Jews as a group kept their faith, their belief in one G-d, even after losing 6 million people to those who hated them for being different.

Husseini with the Nazis, plotting against Jews in Palestine

At this time of finally, through blood and tears and much fighting, we have gained back our ancient land-enough to claim it to be Israel, and still we are now in the in-gathering stage of finding our lost 10 tribes, lost to us in 720 BCE by the Assyrian attacks.  The ugly head of anti-Semitism still exists, driving some of those not yet into Israel heading that way and wondering where they could live in this tiny space.

Fatah of Judea-Samaria and Hamas of Gaza,
leaders who can't get along with each other,
vying for power.

Now the nations that are leaders on this planet, including Trump's very recent decision,  are planning on the 2 STATE SOLUTION, something the Arabs really do not want as they view their own solution; taking over all the land for themselves their goal.

Out of this some 10,000 sq miles making up Israel today, where on earth are they plotting to cut land to make a Palestinian state?  There are many possibilities online, and this shows how impossible it is.  Remember, the Arabs are not willing partners of peace.  They swore to destroy Israel in 1967 at the Kartoum Conference.  Continued Peace has always been Israel's goal.  There are talks about land swaps.

Some rabbis and our prophecy says that we will never see the Moshiach (Messiah) until we are united again with out lost 10 tribes.  This is a vastly huge group of Pashtuns, mostly living in Pakistan and Afghanistan,  who are very happy living where they are, of course.  Pashtuns are thought to number 50 million.  They have about 13,750,117 in Afghanistan and 30,699,037 in Pakistan.

As it stands right now, 801,000 people live in Jerusalem, the coveted city that the Arabs want to make over as theirs but which is the capital of Israel; from David's time onto today.
West Jerusalem, populated by Jews, has 400,000.

The fact that the Palestinian Arabs have no history in this land other than riding through on their camels or at one time owning some land that they gladly sold at extremely high prices to incoming Jews, makes no difference, it seems.  They have no ancient claims like the Jews do.  There was never a country of Palestine.  1.7 million Arabs are already full citizens of tiny Israel, so the ratio is 1.7 million to 6 million, and must be kept at this ratio to keep Israel's claim of ownership.

Muslims in the world

Israel is the only scrap of land in the world that is a Jewish country. You can barely visualize it on the map above.   There are 44 Muslim states with 1 billion people in an area 672 times the size of Israel.  22  of the 44 are sovereign Arab states right in the Middle East including oil rich Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, who steadfastly refuse to absorb the so-called "Palestinian refugees, preferring to keep them as political pawns in order to blame Israel for their plight.  The Arab world boasts at least 21 states with an area greater than that of the USA.  None of these states are a democracy, except now, possibly Iraq can become one, but that won't happen if ISIS has their way.  All these Muslim countries outnumber Israel, yet Israel had to win all the wars thrust upon her since 1948, no matter if the odds were ridiculous.

This is a Druze IDF soldier. Druze consider themselves to be Arabs in Syria and Lebanon, but not in Israel, except for a part of the Golan Heights Druze, who consider themselves to be Arabs.  They are wonderful
citizens of Israel, a population of 130,600.  They decided on their own
to serve in Israel's army.  Arabs are not expected to do this.

Note that Israel has taken its Arabs who remained there in 1948 as full citizens along with the Jews, now totaling 1.7 million.

Biased Reasoning from Obama and Kerry From Actual Facts

This is what Obama is demanding of Israel, to go back to a 9 mile width of land. That's the pre-1967 Armistice lines.
This is why Netanyahu cannot possibly consider going back to pre-1967 Armistice lines.  Look at the distances that rockets, mortars and missiles can reach.  Obama is asking Israelis to commit suicide! What audacity; he doesn't even study the map, evidently.
1917 was the end of World War I in which the Ottoman Empire colluded and joined Germany in a world-wide battle against allies of the West.  We all know that the Allies won the war and the Ottoman Empire lost their empire.  Britain was given the mandate over it as they had been allies in the battle and fought in the Middle East.  With the help of the Jewish chemist, Chaim Weizmann, they had won their battles due to improved ammunition from Chaim.  Also on their side was the Arab leader, Abdullah, and his horsemen.  We've seen movies about this episode.
The story of how the Jewish Homeland was cut down in 2 years from a 1920 promised Jewish Homeland mandate of Great Britain to 1923.
Nadene Goldfoot
On April 24, 1920, the British mandated land in the Middle East-area of ancient Israel, land 120,466 sq km. (46,512.1826 sq miles) , was set aside to be the Jewish Homeland.
The “Mandate for Palestine,” an historical League of Nations document, laid down the Jewish legal right to settle anywhere in western Palestine, between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, an entitlement unaltered in international law. The “Mandate for Palestine” was not a naive vision briefly embraced by the international community. Fifty-one member countries – the entire League of Nations – unanimously declared on July 24, 1922:
“Whereas recognition has been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country.”

By July 24, 1922, the Jewish Homeland had been cut by Britain and reduced by 77% of the original plan. Now the Jews were promised 28,166 sq km (10,874.953 sq miles) , but not including Judea and Samaria, their original homeland.  Instead, Britain had appeased Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia who wanted to be a king by giving away most of the Jewish Homeland. which became Jordan. It is important to point out that political rights to self-determination as a polity for Arabs were guaranteed by the same League of Nations in four other mandatesin Lebanon and Syria (The French Mandate), Iraq, and later Trans-Jordan [The British Mandate].

In 1948, when Israel was fighting the battle of their life 5 minutes after declaring statehood in their first of many battles, their War of Independence  (29 November 1947) when Arabs responded with violence to the United Nations resolution on Palestine, which they never have accepted, and which lasted until the signing of the Armistice Agreements in 1949.

Now look at how the 10 thousand sq miles has been cut down to accommodate the Arab Palestinians who for 69 years have been SAYING they must have their own homeland but not accepting any conditions other than the whole 10,000 sq miles which was Israel Israel's given domain after much cutting that Israel was forced to accept or be left with nothing.

And outgoing President Obama and John Kerry have the audacity to scold Israel and take them to the Security Council for allowing the building of some apartment buildings for  Jews in the rightful land they won in the war of 1967 when a gang of Arab nations attacked Israel all at once-and won ; of course miraculously!  Israelis want to live, not die!

After all the shenanigans pulled on Israel through the ages, the bets must have been that the Jews would fold and be finished that summer in July of 1967, and they didn't.  They were stronger and wiser than ever.  Still the enemies of Israel continue to try and have spent all the United Nations time finding fault with them over not giving into Palestinians, enemies who refuse to accept their lives, their presence once again in the Middle East.

As far as nations go, it was Israel who was there first as a nation, for there has never ever been a nation of Palestine.  The Romans picked that name to hurt the Jews of Judah who fought for 3 years against them from 132 to 135 and held Jerusalem during that time.

Am Yisrael Chai!  The Jewish people live!  Despite such organizations of bullies-the United Nations.
I want to know what the Palestinian Arabs have been asked to do and give up in the name of peace.  Egypt and Jordan are the only ones who have signed peace agreements.  That must be considered.  The Palestinians have not done so in the length of Israel's life of almost 69 years since May 14, 1948.  Yes, I'd agree, the academic idea of a peaceful Palestine next door to Israel was giving them half of what was left to the Jews for an Israel, but if peace was promised, the Israelis would go for it; for they want peace more than the Palestinians obviously do for to Jews, life is the most important thing..  To Jews, life is not something to be wasted.  Now, the pundits may be right.  This resolution  is not helping to bring about a Palestine coming in peace; so like Netanyahu has  said, "A 2 state solution?  Not yet; not at this time Palestinians are not ready.."    And believe me, when I say that the Israelis will not go for a Palestine that is another Gaza, another platform to shoot rockets, mortars and missiles into Israel.

Moses' Awesome Dictum About Jewish LAND TO BE

Nadene Goldfoot
12 Tribes of Israel-1271 -920 BCE

April 24, 1920, U.N. Mandate for the Jewish National Home of 120,466 square Kilometers/ 46,512.1876 square miles:  Originally was 58,000 square miles of  Promised Land

The facts were recorded by Moses in what would become the Bible.  The frontiers were approximately on the West of the Mediterranean Sea;  on the East the Syrian Desert;  on the South the Brook of Egypt (Wadi El-Arish) to Kadesh Barnea, also to the Brook of Zin as far as the Valley of Zoar South of the Dead Sea, and in Transjordan from the river Arnon to Mt. Hermon, and to the Valley of Tyon..
July 24, 1922 after Britain gave Transjordan to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia-politics
It didn't take long for them to break their promise of 1920.
Jews wound up with about 20% of original PROMISED LAND -from British Mandate
1949 Armistice after birth of May 14, 1948-cut down from original UN promise
1967 Armistice
I lived in Safed (Tzfat) in the Galilee (northern Israel) which is on top of a mountain,
about as high as Jerusalem is.  Syria is on the northern border.

The total surface turns out to be 17,500 square miles of which about 45% is in TRANSJORDAN.

The extent of the Promised Land reached the Pelusium arm of the Nile Delta, the Gulf of Elath, and the Euphrates River opposite Aleppo (Syria) in the East.  It included most of Syria and altogether covered about 58,000 square miles.
The Jews keep returning to their Promised Land like salmon going upstream to spawn, or the swallows returning to Capistrano.  Why?  The place had been inhabited by someone so different since their absence, with obviously such different values that they want to kill Jews, so what's going on?  Evidently the rest of the world thinks that Israel has no business being there since they keep siding with the other people of the Middle East.  There never was a Palestine country, only a Palestine territory. It had become part of the Ottoman Empire who held it for 400 years up till WWI and was still, just a territory.

When the Israelites first entered with Joshua, the Canaanites, made up of little city-states, were very different from the Israelites.  After the battle, those who survived were assimilated into the Israelite society, most likely giving us some of the different DNA Y (male) haplogroups other than J1c3d.  (today's Cohen gene). For example, we have found E, G, I, J, R male haplogroup majority  in the Jewish population.  There were a few groups who were converted to Judaism, but it was rare.  Jews were a family of Jacob to start with, and have remained an endogamous society as well as a religion and culture.  They were warned by G-d through Moses not to assimilate into the Canaanite society because the moralistic value system of the Canaanites  was too different.  Their moral values would not continue if it happened.  The awesome thing is that Israel  has lasted for the past 3,000 plus years.  All the other ancient nations have died out except the Israelites who later were called the Jews since it was the state of Judah (southern part of the state of Israel) which had survived after the attack of Babylon in 597 BCE and again in 586 BCE.

Moses was the founder of the Jewish religion, Prophet and Lawgiver,  that seems to be so contentious today to so many.  He was born in 1391 BCE to and died in 1271 BCE just before he could enter the Promised Land at age 120.  Joshua had to take over his position at that time.  He had been found in some sort of little basket on the water  by an Egyptian princess who was childless and raised by her, so was a Prince of Egypt, raised with all the royal education and position.  As it turns out, he finally found out that he had been the child of Israelite slaves, Amram and Jochabed.    Amram was the grandson of Levi, one of the tribes of Jacob, who originally came to Egypt 400 years previously with his 70 family members escaping a drought that had hit Canaan, their home.

The Muslims say that Moses is a respected Prophet.  Are they following anything G-d-through Moses,  laid down for the Jews to follow?

The Israelites were not to stay in Egypt any longer.  Moses at age 80 was chosen as the leader to free them from this captivity that had lasted most likely about 300 years, since part of the 400 years were in living in Egypt over the time expected and frightening the Egyptians into thinking that the tribes had become too plentiful for the Egyptians"  own safety.  Egyptians were afraid that the Israelites would attack them because of their numbers.

Exodus 3:2-the rabbis consider this to be symbolic of the history of the Jewish people
when the angel of G-d appeared to Moses prior to his Divine call. The bush appeared to be on fire, but was not being consumed by it.  Moses was told that he was to be G-d's tool to lead the Israelites out of their suffering from Egypt.
Moses had several wild experiences.  One was of hearing a voice-the voice of G-d and seeing that which was an angel of G-d.  One time he heard the voice speak out of a bush that looked like it was on fire but wasn't.  Finally the voice told him more about his new job, that of leading the Israelites back to where Jacob had come from.  He was told they were to take the land and gave Moses the geography-the size of the land it was to be.  Moses had not been there.  None of the Jews after 400 years had been there.  But now Moses thought he understood how to get there and how big it was to be.

This entire area was occupied by the Israelites under King David  (1010-970 BCE) and his son, King Solomon (961-920 BCE).  The facts are recorded in (I Kings 5:4).  The actual area under Jewish control fluctuated, and there were extensive gentile enclaves within Jewish territory.

Moses could not have known much about the land except what he learned through Egyptian education.  This was G-d telling him of the exact measurements that Moses passed onto the Israelites who 40 years later entered the land and had to fight to do so with Joshua  leading in about 600,000 former slaves who had been on the march for 40 years.

The Prophet Ezekiel-writing for the Jews in Babylon  in Ezekiel 46:13 writes of the boundaries for each of the 12 tribes as G-d stated:  2 portions for Joseph...each tribe equal to his brother...this land shall become yours as an inheritance. Ezekiel foresees the time when Israel to rise again and return to its home.  There, in Jerusalem, it will assume a new and eternal name-HASHEM (G-d) is there (48:35). The Jews returned in c516 BCE and again populated their tribe's land, joining the remaining descendants who were not stolen away.
 15. On the north side; From the Great Sea, by way of Hethlon, to the approach to Zedad, Harnath, Berothah, and Siraim which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath, and Hazer-hatticon which is on the border of Hauran.  The border shall tus go from the Sea to haar-enon by the border of Damascus, with the northern border extending northward to the border of Hamath.  This is the northern side.
The eastern side:  Between Hauran and Damascus, between Gilead and the Land of Israel, the Jordan, you shall measure from the northern border to the Eastern Sea.
The southern side:  southward-from Tamar until the waters of Meriboth-kadesh, to the stream, to the Great Sea.
The western side: The Great Sea, from the southern border until opposite the approach to Hamath.

Today we have many people who do not believe in this power of creation we refer to as G-d.  They think that perhaps it was some aliens from outer space in a space ship broadcasting this to Moses.  If you have ever watched History 2 on TV, you have seen these theorists.  IF they are right, these aliens, as well as G-d, knew why this was to be.  Perhaps they, or G-d saw the future and had to see certain events come to be.  However you believe, this was something from a power higher than Moses, and Moses also gave us more than the geography of the Promised Land.  He gave us the rules of living in 10 Commandments and 613 other laws of ways to act under certain circumstances and what to do.  All these things came to Moses and he wrote them down.   They all are in the Bible.

The armistice agreements of 1949 left Israel with the broken promise of the U.N.  Instead of the land including Transjordan, they were given 8,000 square miles with complicated borders.

Update: 3/13/16, 1:36pm, The Ettinger Report: The Precariousness of Israel’s Narrow Waistline
The width of pre-'67 Israel (8-15 miles) equals the distance between JFK & La Guardia airports in NY (Jewish Press.com).

So why are people of the world demanding that Israel is always wrong about their living in a fraction of what is the Promised Land?  The circumstances of the past 3,000 years has been that Jews have been treated like Pariahs.  They have not been made welcome for any length of time in other lands.  Why didn't we pick Tasmania to return to live our lives?   We knew we had to live in one place.  G-d has ordained this.  It is our job to carry out this dictum.  This is a special time in the world.  It has been prophesied.

Today we see the USA still pushing for Israel to give more of it's 20% to Arabs who have denied them peace for the past 67 years.  Islam, as the Palestinians understand it, denies Jews living in their land again.  They will not make peace for their religious reasons. Muslims say Moses is a Prophet and a messenger.   "Moses is regarded by Muslims as teaching and practicing the religion of his predecessors and confirming the scriptures and prophets before him." If that is so, why does the Koran change things?

Ba'al idol, 14th-12th century BCE in Canaan

This is where they get their historical facts confused.  Moses's predecessor was Abraham who did teach the idea of one G-d only.  However, there were no prophets before Moses, lawgiver and first Prophet of the Jews who brought Judaism.   People of Canaan did not believe in one God.  They believed in many gods; a "polytheistic religion using idols, with families typically focusing worship on ancestral household gods and goddesses, the Elohim, while acknowledging the existence of other deities such as Baal and El, Asherah and Astarte." They cannot say that Moses was reflecting the religion of their Arab ancestors.  Canaanites and Abraham himself were familiar with human sacrifice.  That's not something Moses supported through G-d.  Abraham was about to sacrifice his only child but in the Jewish version, was stopped by G-d and that was to be the end of such practices.  The Muslim version is not found in the writings of Moses-found in the FIVE BOOKS OF MOSES of the Bible but in the Koran.  .
