The California International Marathon takes place on Sunday, December 6, 2026 in Sacremento.  

Registration:  Blue level:  $180.  

Race Details & Course
  • Date & Start Time: Sunday, December 6, 2026, at 7:00 AM PST 
  • Location: Point-to-point course starting in the Folsom foothills and finishing at the California State Capitol in Sacramento 
  • Elevation Profile: Net downhill drop of 366 feet (111.5 meters) with rolling hills over the first portion and a flatter final 10K
  • Time Cut-Off: 6-hour official course limit 
  • Significance: Official Boston Marathon qualifier and host of the USATF Marathon Championships.

    Our point-to-point, net-downhill course has remained unchanged for 42 years, starting from Folsom’s scenic foothills and ending at the historical California State Capitol. CIM has provided over 100,000 runners of all speeds–from first-timers to the fastest of the fast–the best chance to achieve their marathon goals.

    Our own Kali (Keliq) Washington of Portland, Oregon as he ran in the late Denver Marathon and made it, picking up 3 new medals.  He is now in training for the Sacramento race.

    With a net elevation drop of 366 feet (111.5 meters), the CIM course falls well within Boston Marathon Index standards and is NOT subject to any index penalties or time adjustments.
