My grandfather born in 1871, Illinois, had been an ice-man; delivering ice. He delivered a load to A special home in Sioux City, Iowa and met my Swedish immigrant grandmother. She was the cook.
Today's ICE men are usually wearing masks and grab children and women while readying their guns to retrieve unlawful immigrants under different laws than my Swedish grandmother had. Sometimes they grab a woman by her hair, throw them on the ground, and are not saying kind words to them. I saw either a man or woman kicked by an ICE man while on the ground on TV. They will not be leaving my grandmother's immigrant home of Minnesota unless the state turnover all the voter's information to the Feds.
Five or six agents had Pretti on the ground and CNN"s video was spot on. Heck, I, a woman, was trained by Montana's police to do take-downs by myself grabbing one arm. This looked to me like a pack of wolves attacking a rabbit. Pretti may have had a gun, as most Minnesotans can carry a concealed one today, but he never had a chance to get it out. We now know that Ice Agents have shot 2 people dead and 1 injured from their shootings.
Who trained these hit-men ICE agents? ICE agents are primarily trained by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia, a division of the Department of Homeland Security. The training covers essential skills like firearms, de-escalation, and driving for both ERO deportation officers and HSI special agents. Some training may involve specialized contractors.
- FLETC instructors provide the bulk of the training.
- Training Duration: As of late 2025/early 2026, training has been condensed to approximately eight weeks for recruits, down from previous longer programs, according to AP News and NBC Los Angeles.
- I had much less time from the Police in Montana and we had no guns. We were working with children judicated by the court from ages 6 to 18, and some of those teens were very tall. If we were working with a wild older one, they went to the padded room, and if calmer were taken back to their classroom where we watched and kept a record on them. I don't think this nurse, Pretti, shot to death by ICE 5 or 6 times, had any training of any sort other than shooting at a shooting range, perhaps. As a nurse, he had stopped to help a person on the ground. Then he was attacked.
- Specialized Units: Specific units like the Special Response Team receive advanced training for high-risk warrants.
- Additional Contractors: Some training is provided by private companies, such as security or tactical firms, according to reports in Truthout.
- ICE excuses seems to be fear, fear of being shot, so they shoot first.
- I don't think a well-trained agent should be that unsure of themselves.
- They're men that have undergone training, and the people involved are
- simply family people of a very cold Minnesota. The Immigrants today
- are not our Swedish and Norwegian ancestors but Mexicans. Governor
- Holz did not call ICE in. Trump sent them because of his political plans.
- He's put his foot through the ice this time.
