IMPORTANT ! An interview of Julia Ioffe On PBS That Is The Most Informative of All Histories On Putin and Our Future

 Nadene Goldfoot

Julia Ioffe, born August 1, 1982, age 40 “Julia Ioffe is an indefatigable reporter, a gifted analyst, and an elegant writer.” She's also amazing when she's answering a question.

I just watched an interview of Julia Ioffe, Russian expert,  on PBS done 3 days ago which is now on youtube.  It was long, but worth every minute of it.  She is an amazing journalist, a Jewish Russian born American who understands the psychology and thinking of Putin amazingly well.  And that's scary, for he's in a terrible state of mind right now.

I urge everyone to watch this interview if you're curious about what's been going on since about 2012.

Julia Ioffe (English: /ˈjɒfi/RussianЮлия ИоффеromanizedYuliya Ioffe; born August 1, 1982) is a Russian-born American journalist who, in June 2021, became a founding partner and the Washington correspondent for the news site Puck. Previously she covered national security and foreign policy topics for GQ. Her articles have appeared in The Washington PostThe New York TimesThe New YorkerForeign PolicyForbesBloomberg BusinessweekThe New RepublicPolitico, and The Atlantic. Ioffe has appeared on television programs on MSNBC

Ioffe was born in Moscow, to a Russian Jewish family. When she was 7, her family emigrated to the United States. They settled in Columbia, Maryland. Ioffe attended Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School where she graduated in 2001. She later attended Princeton University where she majored in history with a focus on Soviet history and Russian literature and graduated magna cum laude in 2005.While at Princeton, Ioffe was vice-president of the Princeton Israel Public Affairs Committee. In a college newspaper column published in 2003, she wrote in support of Israel's “methods of defense against terrorism”, including the construction of the Israeli West Bank barrier. According to Ioffe, the barrier was “necessary for Israel to protect its citizens” against an outburst of attacks by Palestinian suicide bombers, which was rapidly growing from five attacks in 2000 to 40 and 47 in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

In 2009, Ioffe won a Fulbright Scholarship to work in Russia There, she also became the Moscow correspondent for The New Yorker and Foreign Policy.

While covering the 2014 Sochi Olympics for The New Republic, Ioffe traveled to Ukraine, where pro-Western protestors had toppled the Moscow-friendly president. "Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, athletic festival held in Sochi, Russia, that took place February 7–23, 2014. The Sochi Games were the 22nd occurrence of the Olympic Winter Games. The Sochi Games marked the first time that the Winter Olympics were held in Russia."  She predicted that Russia would invade Eastern Ukraine after its annexation of Crimea. In the spring of 2014, she traveled to Eastern Ukraine to cover the war in Donbass.

Her predictions have come true.  Russia has invaded all of

Ukraine, and has now taken over Donbass on the East.

It was announced about this presentation:  Ioffe is scheduled to appear in an interview for the upcoming 15 March 2022 FRONTLINE documentary “Putin’s Road to War.” She discusses Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. In the interviews, she expresses the belief that Putin has made grievous miscalculations about Russian support and especially opposition to his 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

She's very sad as she has good friends in both Russia and

Ukraine and told a little about her Russian friend trying to get

out of Russia  before Putin declared Marshal Law.

She spoke about the period during Covid and what happened

in Russia and how Putin handled it, which was most interesting.

You'll get a much better picture in your mind about the whole

state of affairs about Russia's Putin and Ukraine if you watch

this video.     Hope you all take advantage of seeing this

important information.
