How Obama Really Stepped Into It In Handling Middle East Problems

Nadene Goldfoot

Obama thought he had a handle on Muslims.  He gets a big fat F in doing so.  He started off on the wrong foot with  his Cairo Speech. He was condescending to them by having the Muslim Brotherhood, an outlawed group, attend his speech and not only that, but sit in the front rows.  What he had done was "to indulge their concerns for honor by backing off the behavior that they claimed offended them.  Obama participated in honoring and confirming their most belligerent attitudes" towards Israel and the USA.  They got a lead in this way.  It turned to be be not a move leading to peace but ended up "confirming and weaponizing the Arab world's most toxic weaknesses, their insecurity "with having to deal with the Western world and having Israel in what they thought was THEIR back yard.  Here Obama has been backing the Muslim Brotherhood, the most hateful group of Jews, who want to kill us all and destroy Israel.  He put Jews' lives at risk everywhere in the world and caused a complete upset in Egypt as well that they are continuing to deal with.  .

Here so many of us all thought he himself was a Muslim through his father who was from Africa,  Muslim for a short while but now Christian, but Obama didn't have a clue about Arab psychology.  He might have been operating from  his knowledge of his Black Christian ethics in attending his church led by  Jeremiah Wright, a man who did not like Jews, placing Arabs as the underdog in the white society  like Blacks were and needing a boost of kindness of loving Christian attitudes.  Wrong.  He had helped to bring on their "all-or-nothing conflicts, their addiction to revenge, their paranoid scapegoating, their shame-driven hatreds" against Jews.  In the beginning of Islam, Jewish tribes in Medina were forced to convert or die by the sword, and then they were expected to assist in fighting against the enemies of the new Muslims.  Some turned traitor and assisted the wrong ones.  They are still to this day reminded of this and all are referred to as the bad Jews in Islamic writings.

You might have to be part anthropologist and part psychologist to understand that the Islamic society in the Middle East has developed a different way of thinking from the West, but they have, and what Obama did was the opposite of what needed to be done to bring peace.

In the Middle East, the culture has been that of a warrior.  Even Muhammad was a merchant warrior.  Nomadic warriors had their codes of honor that differ from the West.  East-West.  There is a difference.  It was important to a tribe and then to a clan to follow one's honor codes or they would bring shame upon themselves.  If someone kills your father, you were expected to take revenge on the killer.  Well, we're not too far from that ourselves.  Remember the Hatfields and the McCoys?  That battle went on for a few generations from deaths in the Civil War.  .

King Faisal bin Hussein bin Ali al-Hashimi, b: May 20, 1885 in Mecca d: September 8, 1933 of Hashemite dynasty

Now, the man who was able to think outside the box, who must have had an IQ that was very high, was Emir Ibn Hussein Feisal.  Faisal was a direct descendant of Muhammad. "The Hashemites trace their ancestry from Hashim ibn 'Abd Manaf (died c. 511 AD), the great-grandfather of the Islamic prophet,Muhammad, although the definition today mainly refers to the descendants of Muhammad's daughter, Fatimah."  They are Sunni Arabs.

His father was the sharif of Mecca, the Grand Sharif of Mecca, Hussein bin Ali.  He was  more cosmopolitan, having grown up in Constantinople.  He learned how to be a leader from his father.   He fostered unity between Sunni and Shiite Muslims to encourage common loyalty and promote pan-Arabism in the goal of creating an Arab state that would include Iraq, Syria and the rest of the Fertile Crescent, like Lebanon.  Unlike ISIS, when in power he tried to diversify his administration by including different ethnic and religious groups in offices.  On the bad side, his pan-Arab nationalism may have caused the isolation of certain religious groups.

Arab nationalism and independence was his main motivation, not religion.   He was above and beyond the constrictions of his society.  Probably that's because of his genealogy, being descended from Muhammad.   He made the rules of society;   he was a leader, not a follower, and he was brilliant.  This man was the oldest son of Hussein, sherif of Mecca.  A leader of his people from the start, he was most sympathetic to Zionism!  It was because he understood that through these Jews, cousins of his, that their experience in Europe and their talents would be of assistance to improving his people.  He foresaw that the Jews could help him in building his own future kingdom.  He had taken part in WWI fighting against the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) with England from 1916 to 1918.  That led to becoming King of Syria in 1920.  He met with Dr. Chaim Weizmann in Transjordan in 1918 and then again in Paris, France in 1919 where they reached an agreement on mutual aid.  It was conditional on the implementation of the British promises to the Arabs.  Feisal became the King  of Iraq from August 1921 to 1933.   His becoming king of these two new nations was through the Western powers like England and France because of the Ottoman Empire's losing the war started in 1914.  They had chosen well, but really, there was no contest.  He was outstanding.   However, England and France broke their promises and Feisal was expelled from Syria by the French and the other jealous Palestinian Arab leaders in 1920.  This changed his attitude towards the Zionists and he became hostile.

Faisal signed the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement on January 3, 1919 as part of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 which was created to settle disputes stemming from WWI.  It was an agreement of cooperation on the development of a Jewish Homeland in Palestine and an Arab nation in a large part of the Middle East.  The Sykes-Picot Agreement had called for an "Arab State or a Confederation of Arab States under the suzerainty of an Arab chief.  This turned out to be a secret agreement.   The French and British also proposed an international administration.  As to what kind of administration was to be decided upon after taking it over with Russia and other allies and the representatives of the Sherif of Mecca.

So there the West almost was getting along with the East but loused it up by not being honest about their intentions.  That set in motion 100 years of unrest and wars and brought out their honor code.

Feisal did not look upon the Jews as past dhimmis.  He saw them as his equals.  He looked down on his own uneducated more primitive people and expected them to improve with the Jews' living in the area.

King Abdullah, Emir Feisal's brother, another son of Husssein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca
of the Hashemite kingdom created TransJordan.  "The kingdom emerged from the post-World War I division of West Asia by Britain and France. In 1946, Jordan became an independent sovereign state officially known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan. After capturing the West Bank during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, Abdullah I took the title King of Jordan and Palestine. The name of the state was changed to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 1 December 1948."The Jordanian legal system is derived from Sharia and an Ottoman- Egyptian form of the Napoleonic Code. It has also been influenced by tribal traditions.  Today's King Abdullah II of Jordan is his grandson.

But like Hillary Clinton not understanding the economic problems of the average Americans, Faisal wasn't into the "oh my god-the Jews are beneath us, dhimmis of the average Arab.   Arabs hate Jews and therefore Israel because of the role we have played in the Muslim Arab honor-group.  Ever since 632, more than 15 centuries, Jews had been subject to a political status in Muslim lands designed around issues of honoring Muslims and shaming the Jews.  Dhimmi was the Jew, protected but put upon as long as they accepted their place in society of daily public degradation and legal inferiority.  Chateaubriand said in the 19th century that Jews were the special target of all the Muslims and Christian contempt.  The Jews themselves were crushed by blows.  Penetrate the dwellings of these people, you will find them in frightful poverty. "

Now with the creation of Israel in 1948, the Arabs couldn't abide it happening.  The creation was like blasphemy against Islam, an insult to Arab virility.  Jews were traditionally the most passive, abject, cowardly of the populations over which Muslims ruled.  This creation was more than humiliating.  It is a danger to all of Islam.  Seven (7) Arab armies were defeated by 650,000 population state with only about 100,000 army if that.   They lost face.  These Jews were the "surviving remnant of the most devastating and efficient genocide in history.  This was a most humiliating event that played out the same way again and again in 1956 and 1967 and 1973.  One could even think that G-d was helping them!   This is their Nakba.

Their leaders have always chosen denial that the Jews have won.  To them a war is not over until they drive out the Jews.  They react by putting the catastrophe on its own refugees and have made them suffer in camps, "frozen in time at the moment of the humiliation, waiting and fighting to reverse that Zionist victory that could be acknowledged. "

As to what to do differently, we cannot continue to indulge Arab and jihadi Muslims and their concerns for honor by backing off anything that they claim offends them.  That has been exactly what our government has been doing with the Palestinians and now Iran.  It's what they are doing in Iraq as well.  If they try to sit down and talk with Abu Bakr al Bagdadi of ISIS, they'll only lose their heads instead.  Our government has only strengthened them by doing this.

They will only respect strength.  Possibly, that's what encouraged Emir Feisal with the Allies to be cooperative.  Feisal has shown us that not all Muslims are subject to this honor system and are more interested in the good of the population and peaceful times.  There are cooperative people to work with of stature and respect from their own peer group.

The Jews are also in a bad position.  They may understand the psychology of the Arab, but their own psychological background gets in the way often.  They have had to appease every nation they have lived in in order to survive.  Being a small number of people, they had no way of rising up in rebellion at the way they have been treated.  They come from a religion of which the main thrust is to treat people like you want to be treated.  They are a righteous people, and had been told that their destiny was to be a nation of prophets, the light of the world.  When they were in the position to oversee another people, they only wanted to do the best for them, and so they stepped into the same muck that Obama did, and it backfired.  That's not what the Arabs wanted or needed.  And of course, after being scapegoats of the world, with people taught in their very bible or Koran how bad Jews, were, they have continued to be scapegoats in the UN, and they have had the automatic reflex of taking it on the chin and wondering why it was happening.  Obama and Israel, appeasement and concessions are signs of weakness.  Arabs want honor.  Benjamin Netanyahu did the wrong thing by stopping the settlement building for 9 months.  Land for peace has only worked on Egypt who we are connected to by "apron strings".  Jordan's peace comes from a dynasty of intelligence , strength and honor in their own society where they can do as they see fit and righteous and they are not dependent on other's ideas of honor.

The secret is that Arabs have to become proud of themselves to have reached nirvana or honor.  If they're not proud of their own accomplishments, then their whole being revolves around what other people think of them. and that has become the driving force of their society.

Obama has helped out in this by mentioning many times their accomplishments. They must also hear of other people's accomplishments, too, and learn to not think of Jews as something to step on and squash like an insect.   Perhaps that's a lesson that has been left out of the mix.  It's like introducing civilization back to the American soldier, Bowe Bergdahl,  who wandered off his post in Afghanistan and was held by the Taliban for 5 years, and not being immediately threatened by desertion, but having to wait for the right time to question him.  It will take a little more time for the Arabs to get used to Jews living in the Middle East and that it's not a slap in the face to their honor.  Maybe another hundred years will do the trick.

Muslims wish to copy the behaviors of Muhammad.  Surely they should see that his descendant, Emir Feisal, thought highly of the Jewish people and should emulate Feisal in doing so.  100 years.  Let's pray for this enlightenment.

Jews In Turkey's Ottoman Empire and Today's Turkish Peacemakers with Jews

Nadene Goldfoot

"According to Jewish scripture, Noah's Ark landed on the top of Mount Ararat, a mountain in the Taurus range in the Republic of Turkey, near the modern borders Armenia and Iran." This was way before the days of Jews, who are named for Judah, the largest of the 12 tribes of Jacob.  Judah traces his father's line back to Noah,  like this:  Jacob to his father, Isaac, to Abraham, Terah, Nahor, Serug, Reu, Peleg, Eber, Shelah, Arpachshad, Shem and Noah.   Jews  lived in Asia Minor at the time the Ottoman Empire was created.  A synagogue was built in the old capital of Brusa in 1326.

The Ottoman Empire lasted for over 400 years, ending in the outcome of WWI when they were on the wrong side by being aligned with Germany.  It's heyday was from the 1300s to the 1600s.  Jews living there were treated according to the whims of the Sultan. It actually started in 1299.  Mehmed II in 1453 took Constantinople and turned the empire into a Transcontinental Hyperpower.

Sultan Bayezed II sent Kemal Reis to save the Sepharic Jews of Spain who found themselves in the Spanish Inquisition and being forced to leave Spain or convert to Catholicism in 1492.  Then again, the Sultan, Murad II, expected all non Muslims to show humility and abjection.  Jews were 2nd class citizens called dhimmis which meant they couldn't live near a mosque, not that they would want to, or live near tall building or own slaves besides many other could nots.  Perhaps this is why some finally left the Turkish Ottoman Empire.

The Ottoman Empire was vast  with 2.008 million square miles or (5.2 million km squared) and included Jerusalem since Palestine was included by 1517 as well as Egypt, Yemen and  Iraq.  Jews of Turkey made up the 3rd largest group after Russia and Austro-Hungary by 1900 with 350,000.  Turkey's core Jewish population today numbers 17,300 or 0.023% of their population.

Some Jews were able to leave the Ottoman Empire.  Jewish merchants from Turkey first settled in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, in the 16th Century.  Some refugees from the Spanish Inquisition came to Walachia, a Romanian principality after being expelled from Hungary of the Balkans in 1367.  A few served as physicians and even diplomats at the court of the sovereigns of Walachia.    By  the 18th and 19th Century these Sephardic Jews  were joined by Ashkenazai Jews who were mainly craftsmen who came in considerable numbers, probably escaping pogroms.  None were allowed to build a synagogue until 1787.

Throughout the 19th century the community was attacked and suffered from economic discrimination, the city's own system of a BDS movement.  Many Jews left as a result.  After WWI, Jews were to receive equal rights, it was nominal.  The condition didn't improve a great deal.

By 1921 the Jews had unified.  during WWII, Bucharest became the seat of the central office of the Jews of Romania, and suffered from pogroms and confiscations but suffered less in Bucharest than the rest of the country.

Romania established their own Romanian People's Republic in 1948 causing all Zionist activity to be prohibited and Jewish communists took control of the community.  The community kept their identity of being Jewish anyway, and services which included religious activities like a Purim spiel and even a Yiddish theater.

Many Jews immigrated to Israel and the Jewish community shrunk.  In 1990 it numbered 10,478 which was half of the original population.  Romania's core Jewish population numbers 9,400 today or 0.044% of their population.

In the early 1900s many Turkish Jews came to the Pacific Northwest of the USA to live with many settling in Seattle, Washington or Portland, Oregon.  Some had been in the fish business and continued that in these 2 cities.  The first Sephardic Jews-those who came from Turkey and the Isle of Rhodes and who spoke a unique language called Ladino-landed in Seattle in 1902. Expelled from Spain in 1492, now they fled the Ottoman Empire. The early Sephardim peddled fish and fruit. They joined their Ashkenazi brethren in living in the Yesler Way Cherry Street neighborhood of central Seattle.  The Sephardim founded a synagogue in Portland in 1910 that still exists today.  They also came from Turkey and the Isle of Rhodes.  We have a family from Marmora, Turkey whose members are living in both Seattle and Portland.

Things with the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan,  and Israel have not been good.  "At the 2009 World Economic Forum conference, the debate became heated in relation to the Gaza conflict. Israeli President Shimon Peres responded to Erdoğan's claims, stating that Turkey would have done the same if rockets had been hitting Istanbul". Erdogan reprimanded Peres and said, "When it comes to killing you know it too well. I remember how you killed the children on beaches..." Erdogan left the panel then.
Following the Gaza flotilla raid in May 2010, tension between the two countries dramatically mounted. Erdoğan strongly condemned the raid, describing it as "state terrorism", calling for Israeli leaders responsible to apologize. Erdoğan has described Israel as "the main threat to regional peace", and has called for Israel's nuclear facilities to come under IAEA inspection. Erdoğan accused Israel of turning Gaza into an "open-air prison". UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon subsequently described Erdoğan's remarks as "hurtful and divisive."  What is noticeable is Erdogan's falling back to be connected to the more strict Muslim Brotherhood group from a secular position.  Israel had warned all
ships that they would need to board the flotilla due to the terrorists being able to gain
shipments of ammunition that way, and all the other flotilla members did allow the Israeli
sailors to do that, all except Turkey, who was supposed to be a friend of Israel.  In the
end, Turkey demanded a huge sum of money to be paid to Turkey for the defiant Turks
who attacked the boarding Israeli sailors.

"In 2012, after a round of rocket fire from Gaza aimed at Israel, followed by Israeli retaliatory strikes, Erdoğan demanded that Israel must stop 'massacre' of Palestinians in Gaza, saying that it was a part of an Israeli campaign of "genocide" against the Palestinian people.  The Palestinian people had chosen terrorists, the Hamas terrorists, to be their governing power.  They have been attacking southern Israel every chance they can since 2001 with rockets, mortars and missiles. "
In February 2013, Erdoğan called Zionism a "crime against humanity", comparing it to Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and fascism.

He later walked back the statement, saying he had been misinterpreted. He said "everyone should know" that my comments were directed at "Israeli policies," especially as regards to "Gaza and the settlements." Erdogan also said "in several statements "I openly condemned anti-Semitism", and it clearly displays my position on this issue" Erdoğan's branding of Zionism as a crime against humanity was condemned by the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, criticized by the US Secretary of State John Kerry and called unacceptable by the German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, and EU High Representative Catherine  Ashton"

On the other side of the coin is the executive producer of Turkey's A9 satellite TV program, Sinem  Tezyapar,  who broadcasts from Istanbul and supports a peaceful  coexistence between Muslim and Jews.  She is a strong Muslim and points out that the Koran is not against Jews or killing them.  She is joined in this endeavor by the writer, and TV owner of satellite TV channel, A9, her boss,  "Adnan Oktar,a self taught preacher of Islam,  who has been against Jews, but has taken a turn for the best. "In 2009, Oktar expressed his new views on Jews in his own words, "hatred or anger toward the line of the Prophet Abraham is completely unacceptable. The Prophet Abraham is our ancestor, and the Jews are our brothers. We want the descendants of the Prophet Abraham to live in the easiest, pleasantest and most peaceful manner. We want them to be free to perform their religious obligations, to live as they wish in the lands of their forebears and to frequently remember Allah in comfort and security."

Nevertheless, that year the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) described Yahya as "an anti-Semitic Turkish writer whose articles demonize Jews who support Israel as "godless" and blames them for committing atrocities." The ADL also argued that Yahya (his alias) quotes Holocaust-denier Roger Garaudy and still cites The Holocaust Deception in the articles on his site.  Hopefully,  he has changed for the best.  If so, perhaps he can also change Erdogan as well one of these days.

Islam, That Religion Professing Peace Having It's Problems With Adherents

Nadene Goldfoot

The Middle East is raging war.  Islam, the religion touting the label as the "religion of peace", is having its problems in following Mohammad's wishes for such peace.  Perhaps it was his way of recruiting followers; by a sword.  In trying to bring his message to a violent group of tribesmen, he had little choice but to get tough.  He even used this method on Jews who already were living peacefully in Medina, Saudi Arabia,  and believing in the one G-d that Mohammad intended to bring to his own people. He even married a Jewish girl, Safia.   It is said that his own city of Mecca at first rejected his teachings and him, which usually happens to gifted artists, anyway, so he fought hard to spread the word he received from the angel Gabriel.

The differences between the two entities are political as to who the next leader was after Mohammad died. Those that wanted to elect the next leader did so, and Abu Bakr, Mohammad's close friend and advisor became the leader of the Sunni Sect.  The others felt that the leadership should stay in the family and wanted his male cousin and son in law, Ali bin Abu Talib as the leader and he became the head of the Shi'a movement.  This led to some variance in following Mohammad's rules.

Even Arab cousins have disagreed with each other and fought.  The Hajj Mohammed Amin el-Husseini, who was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, disagreed with his cousin, Abdullah, grandfather of the King of Jordan, Hussein.  The Mufti went to Hitler in Germany and sided with him against the Jews, causing riots in Jerusalem.  His cousin, King Abdullah of Transjordan, had already met with Chaim Weizmann and had a moderate attitude towards Zionism.  He thought the Jews would bring in education for his Arabs to upgrade themselves.  He was later assassinated by his cousin, the Mufti, Haj Amin el Husseini.  Both were probably Sunni Muslims.  Abdullah had been the 2nd son of Hussein, sherif of Mecca who was later the King of Hejaz.  He had been the most educated and recognized Arab leader of his time.

From 1980 to 1988,  Iran, a Shi'a Islamic state,  fought against Iraq, a Shi'a/Sunni secular state so long that they were including young boys in their armies.  Today's papers are full of the violence going on.  The ongoing civil war of Syria, a Sunni/Shi'a state,   has taken over 100,000 lives by the people's own government, and now includes possibly over 1,000 that either the government or their adversaries have taken in chemical warfare.  This political battle includes elements of Shi'a against Sunni with the Alawite president Assad leading the way.  The Alawites are a sect of Shi'a.

Iraq had been ruled by Saddam Hussein. The USA stepped in after 9/11  and on May 1, 2003, killed him  and left  Shiite and Sunni still attacking each other.  A Shiite district was hit by a car bomb around Baghdad in the yesterday morning  that killed 80.  Iraq is spiraling into mayhem again.  Their government is also on high alert due to a possible retribution against Syria by a coalition of Western powers.    Iraq has suffered from a wave of killings of thousands since April, the worst ever since 2008.  The worst seen was in 2006 and 2007 when they were almost in their own civil war.  This month of August has had 510 killed.

A military convoy was hit south of the capital, so security forces sealed off the blast scene.  "What sin have those innocent people committed?" asked Ahmed Jassim who was a witness in Baghdad's Hurriyah neighborhood.  Another neighborhood, Kazimiyah, home of a Shiite shrine, was the worst hit.  2 bombs went off in a parking lot followed by a suicide car bomber who rammed the  crowd who had gathered. This alone killed 10 and wounded 27.  Al Qaida, a Sunni terrorist group under the name of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, is thought to be the culprits.  They've been becoming more practiced and brazen.   Al Qaida, the terrorist group started by Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, is a radical Sunni group also following Sharia law.

Afghanistan, a Sunni/Shi'a Islamic state,  is fighting against the Shi'a Taliban terrorists who just killed 7 Afghans and wounded 10 Wednesday at a base used by Americans and Poland in the eastern section.  The total killed was 19 and 63 were wounded.  3 other attacks were from insurgents in their campaign against the international coalition and government of President Karzai.  Those storming the base in Ghazni were repelled and who suffered 10 killed.  The terrorists had rammed a truck full of explosives into a wall, but the wall didn't break while another terrorist group fired from the opposite side of the base.  Those were killed by Afghan security forces.  Their hospital had 7 dead of which 4 were just civilians and 3 police officers.  35 others were treated including 12 children, all wounded in the melee.

Another suicide bomber rammed into a car on an Afghan army base in the Nad Ali district. which killed 3 soldiers and wounded 4.  Then a rocket fired overnight at another parking lot used by truck drivers carrying fuel for the coalition.  it hit a loaded truck with caught fire, killing 6 Afghani drivers and wounded 10 others.

The one thing all the Middle East groups seem to agree on is to oust Israel, and have tried it in unison in 1947-48, 56, 67, 73 and so on.  Thanks to our one G-d that we all believe in, Israel has survived these numerous outnumbered attacks somehow.  It's odd because they agree that Jews and Arabs stemmed from Abraham of Ur,  They look upon Noah, Moses, Kings David and Solomon as well as Jesus as prophets, forerunners of Mohammed.  Islamic legends absorbed much material from the Jews' Midrash, much as they might want to deny that.  We have many religious laws in common, such as not eating the meat from a pig, images, fixed times for prayers.  Jews and Christians were regarded by Mohammad as "People of the Book"who should enjoy religious freedom in return for paying their poll tax.  The Shi'a were more reactive and stern in their attitude towards Jews.  Jews were rarely  persecuted  for religious reasons, but now political ones have crept in and are being used instead of a deep religious hatred taught to their people since the Ottoman Empire fell in WWI. Today I can't tell the difference between Shi'a and Sunni hatred for Zionistic Jews.

Qaradawi, head Sunni preacher from Egypt living in Qatar, broadcasting from al Jazeera TV, said, "Oh Allah, take your enemies, the enemies of Islam. Oh Allah, take the Jews, the treacherous aggressors. Oh Allah, take this profligate, cunning, arrogant band of people. Oh Allah, they have spread much tyranny and corruption in the land. Pour Your wrath upon them, oh our God. Lie in wait for them. Oh Allah, You annihilated the people of Thamoud(Sodom) at the hand of a tyrant, and You annihilated the people of 'Aad with a fierce, icy gale, and You destroyed thePharaoh and his soldiers – oh Allah, take this oppressive, tyrannical band of people. Oh Allah, take this oppressive, Jewish Zionist band of people. Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one"  He thinks of himself as an Islamic Sufist.   Qatar’s new emir, Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa, may have ousted him back to Egypt.  He was seen in demonstrations in Egypt June 30th.  He was probably there to stir up protests for the Muslim Brotherhood.

If one prefers to blame Zionistic Jews for their problems, what is motivating both sects of Islam who fight in their own territory?  They have had this tendency ever since Mohammad (570-632 CE) came along and tried to tame them.  One needs only to study the clash of Arab civilizations over the centuries to see this.  The culture is much different than found in the West, but the cause of problems comes from within their own competitive culture, not from the Jews or the West.  Christianity is known as the religion of "love."   Jews are to lead  by example and to be the "light of the world,"  Islam's leaders are not practicing peace in order to earn the title of the "religion of peace." Maybe that is because they refuse to turn on the light to see better.
