What Kind Of Cease Fire Is This?

 ;Nadene Goldfoot

Shula Giladi lives in Shtula, a village in Israel’s Western Galilee near the Lebanese border. She cooks authentic Kurdish cuisine, made with love! She had a dream to become an entrepreneur, selling homemade Kurdish food from recipes her family brought from Kurdistan. She basically began selling her food out of the back of a van and from her home... and through word of mouth she started making a small living. The result... that drive up to her town on the Lebanese border is worth the schlepp for her Kurdish meals. There’s much more to her personal story - Shtula is a moshav and agricultural community in Israel's Western Galilee, established in 1967 near the Lebanese border. (She looks so much like my cousin Harriet, deceased, may she rest in peace).

As of April 2026, it is a largely deserted, closed military zone due to ongoing security threats, with many homes damaged by anti-tank missiles and rocket fire. The community is part of the Ma'ale Yosef Regional Council.

The ceasefire in Lebanon has been extended for 3 more weeks.

After meeting with the Israeli and Lebanese representatives, along with J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio, in the Oval Office, President Trump posted,

"“The Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by THREE WEEKS.

I look forward in the near future to hosting the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, and the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun.

It was a Great Honor to be a participant at this very Historic Meeting!”

               The Shooting Goes On

Israel maintains the right to act in self defense.

Last night, Hezbollah fired rockets at the community of Shtula, in the western Galilee.

The IDF destroyed the 2 rocket launchers used in the attack.

Today, the IDF struck buildings in the areas of Kherbet Selm and Touline in southern Lebanon.  Kherbet Selem is a municipality in southern Lebanon. The municipality of Kherbet Selem is located in the Kaza of Bint Jbeil, one of the eight mohafazats of Lebanon. Khirbet Selm is 104 kilometers away from Beirut the capital of Lebanon. The village's elevation is 630 meters above sea level.  "Touline" most notably refers to a town in the Marjayoun district of southern Lebanon, which was the target of an Israeli airstrike on April 24, 2026, resulting in two fatalities during a ceasefire period.

These are the places that Hezbollah used “to advance terrorist operations.”

One can see that Hezbollah are the ones breaking the ceasefire, only it will come out in  the major reporting that only Israel broke the ceasefire and will not even mention their defense position.  Hope I'm wrong.
