Oliver AnisfeldJTV gave me a lot of food for thought this morning. A Rabbi, Rabbi Manis Friedman, interviewed by Oliver (Ollie) Anisfeld, Director, was giving his opinion of the feeding of Palestinians by Israel.

"Rabbi Manis Friedman quoted that Israel should end the war quickly. Yes, this does create the condition of starvation, but end war quickly" and then food can be brought in. This way, the way it has been involved, is creating a longer condition of starvation ! If the war were fought in 6 days or 2 weeks, it would have been over and actually, there would have been very little starvation.
Manis Friedman (full name: Menachem Manis HaKohen Friedman; Hebrew: מנחם מניס הכהן פרידמן; born 1946) is a Hasidic rabbi, author, social philosopher, and public speaker. He is the dean of the Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies. Friedman wrote Doesn't Anyone Blush Anymore?, which was published in 1990. Friedman was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1946 to a Hasidic Ashkenazi Jewish family of Kohanim. His father, Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Friedman, was a son of Rabbi Meir Yisroel Isser Friedman, the Krenitzer Rov. Yaakov Moshe Friedman was later arrested and tortured by the Soviet Czechoslovakian authorities due to his work with the Vaad Hatzalah, rescuing Jewish children from the Soviet Union. His mother was Miriam Friedman, a descendant of the Baal Shem Tov. In 1950, he moved with his family to the United States. He received his rabbinic ordination at the Rabbinical College of Canada in 1969
Everyone has been overly sensitive to the problem of eating enough. War is War! Even Israel's past wars have never had to go on this long. What kept Israel fighting so long? HAMAS WOULD NOT GIVE UP AND THINK OF THE CONTINUING LIVES OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE. THEY CREATED TUNNELS TO HIDE IN; THEY HID AMMUNITION IN PLACES ISRAEL AT FIRST DARE NOT HIT; SUCH AS SCHOOLS, MOSQUES, HOSPITALS !!
European countries meddled through the UN who has been complicit in the war against Israel! Their power has affected the power of the USA and Israel, keeping Israel only fighting in their proper plans.
As for the Israelis taken by Hamas, the Assyrians, a far less murderous people who thought in terms of trading, took 27,290 Prisoners of War Israelites to Assyria in 721 BCE; which was 2,746 years ago. Wasn't our people that were taken on October 7th actually Prisoners of War? Hamas had attacked Israel and in turn, Israel declared war on Gaza.
Today's rules for Prisoners of War (POWs) are primarily governed by the Third Geneva Convention and its protocols, which mandate humane treatment, respect for their honor, and protection from violence, intimidation, and public curiosity. POWs are entitled to adequate food, clothing, housing, and medical care, and cannot be forced to participate in dangerous or degrading work. They must be released and repatriated after the end of hostilities.
- 148 hostages have been returned alive to Israel (140 were released and eight were rescued by the Israeli military).
- 57 deceased hostages have been returned to Israel.
