A wheat field in IsraelHow can the world think that Jews of all people would starve other civilians to win a war? Where in our long history have Jews ever done such a thing? However, they have had this done to them several times; in 70 CE when Jerusalem was taken by the Romans, many died from starvation. Then there was the Holocaust, remember? The Golden Rule came from the Jewish people, Hillel the Elder, "don't do to others that which you don't want to happen to you." It's a compilation of Judaism in a nutshell. People have tended all through history to believe the worst about Jews; coming from their education and family. Jews have been the scapegoats of the world. It's time to cut it out.
Prior to October 7, 2023, Israel played a significant role in global food security through its agricultural expertise and innovations, according to the Helmsley Charitable Trust.Since Israel’s earliest days and even before it was established, agriculture has been crucially important. A dry region with little water, Israel needed innovative solutions to successfully produce its own food.To believe we can supply food with this land was a dream… Now, we are one of the global leaders in agricultural technology.— Danielle Abraham, International Friends of Volcani
Recent Helmsley funding has led to the development of Volcani’s first Model Farm, a “life-sized,” 120-acre farm designed to showcase the environmental benefits of sustainable agriculture and demonstrate the economic viability of such innovations. The Model Farm is translating laboratory research to a working farm setting and providing a hands-on learning environment for farmers and researchers alike.
The students in agriculture continue to stay in Israel even during the war with Hamas.
Israel isn't even this big anymore as the West Bank doesn't showup in this example. Most sources agree that Israel's area within the Green Line (the 1949 armistice lines) is approximately 8,019 square miles (20,770 km²).
- When including the areas Israel considers part of its territory, such as East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, the area increases to around 8,522 square miles (22,072 km²). Therefore, a general estimate for the size of Israel today is around 8,000-8,500 square miles.
Specifically, organizations like the Arava International Center for Agricultural Training (AICAT), in partnership with the Jewish National Fund-USA, provided professional agricultural training to over 850 students annually from 14 countries in Asia, Africa, and the South Pacific Islands. These countries included Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, East Timor, Kenya, Azerbaijan, Tanzania, Liberia, Laos, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Indonesia.
Thida Win, student from Myanmar attended AICAT, graduated in 2012; returned to Israel for 2 years as a group leader, met with Dr ArviBar Tzur on a project; both improving agriculture.
In summary, before October 7, 2023, Israel was helping to feed many countries by sharing its agricultural knowledge and technology, training over 850 students from 14 countries annually, and contributing to advancements in global food systems.
Gazan's Israeli Food -Col. Conricus Explains War and Food
Colonel Conricus's statements regarding Israel facilitating the entry of food trucks into Gaza primarily revolve around Israel's efforts to increase the flow of humanitarian aid into the territory amid growing international pressure and concerns about a deepening hunger crisis.
- Increased Aid Flow: Following international pressure, Israel has allowed a greater number of aid trucks into Gaza, including resuming the entry of trucks into the northern Gaza Strip through crossings like Zikim (also known as Erez West).
- Facilitating Distribution: The Israeli military has indicated its intention to facilitate the movement of aid convoys inside Gaza, often in coordination with the UN and other humanitarian organizations.
- Humanitarian Pauses and Routes: Israel has declared daily "tactical pauses" in some areas of Gaza and established humanitarian corridors to expand aid access, according to the American Jewish Committee. These measures aim to provide secure pathways for aid delivery.
- Concerns about Hamas: Conricus and other Israeli officials have expressed concerns about Hamas potentially taking advantage of aid distribution or diverting aid intended for the population.
- Aid Falls Short: Aid agencies and the UN have emphasized that the amount of aid entering Gaza is still only a fraction of what is needed to address the severe humanitarian crisis. The UN World Food Programme (WFP) notes that the delivered food is a small fraction of the monthly requirement.
- Challenges and Delays: Aid convoys face delays at checkpoints, restrictions on movement, and security risks, including the potential for clashes and violence around distribution points where desperate people gather.
- Conflicting Accounts: There have been conflicting reports about incidents surrounding aid convoys, including accusations of Israeli forces firing on crowds seeking aid and counter-claims about Hamas actions. (Believe Conricus.)
However, it's important to note that despite these efforts:
In conclusion, Israel, as stated by officials like Colonel Conricus, is actively involved in facilitating the entry of food trucks and other aid into Gaza through various measures. However, the effectiveness and sufficiency of this aid in addressing the severe humanitarian crisis remain a subject of debate and concern, with ongoing challenges regarding aid distribution and security within Gaza.
Why is it that main TV carriers are only showing attacks on trucks for food, or starving children with buckets, pans to holdsoups, eat as well as orderly places of receiving foods?--answeris that it makes better copy for the news outlet; not for history.
