"Antony John Blinken (born April 16, 1962) is an American lawyer and diplomat who served as the 71st United States secretary of state from 2021 to 2025. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under President Barack Obama. Blinken was previously national security advisor to then–Vice President Joe Biden from 2009 to 2013."
Knowing his background makes it all the more shocking as to the Leftist Democratic Stand he is taking, yet also showing his environment being under Obama and Biden.
Blinken was born on April 16, 1962, in Yonkers, New York, to Jewish parents. His mother was Judith (née Frehm) Blinken and his father was Donald M. Blinken, a co-founder of the private equity firm Warburg Pincus who later served as the U.S. ambassador to Hungary. His maternal grandparents were Hungarian Jews. Blinken's uncle, Alan Blinken, served as the U.S. ambassador to Belgium. His paternal grandfather, Maurice Henry Blinken, was an early backer of Israel who studied its economic viability, and his great-grandfather was Meir Blinken, a Yiddish writer.
During the 2021 Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Blinken expressed "absolute" support for Israel's right to defend itself but warned that evicting Palestinian families from their homes in East Jerusalem is among the actions that could further escalate outbreaks of violence and retaliation.
During a visit to Tel Aviv following the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel, Blinken promised to help defend Israel "as long as America exists." Blinken said that "Israel has the right, indeed the obligation, to defend itself and to ensure that this never happens again." He rejected calls for a ceasefire in the Israel–Hamas war but said he supported "humanitarian pauses" to deliver aid to the people of the Gaza Strip.
Ministers of the Israeli war cabinet meeting with Blinken, January 9, 2024Blinken participated in Netanyahu's cabinet policy decisions on humanitarian aid, which allowed the targeting of aid convoys that could "reach Hamas." Implementation of the policy resulted in assaults on UNRWA aid trucks, Palestinian police escorts for aid convoys, the World Central Kitchen aid convoy attack, and assassination of Anera aid workers.
Blinken is now out of a job with Trump coming in as President. Is he still the Jewish ambassador?
"In what could be his final speech on the job, Secretary of State Antony Blinken also accused Israel of systematically undermining the Palestinian Authority, which he said should govern a unified Gaza Strip, in addition to Judea and Samaria after Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists concludes.
May I remind readers and Blinken that the PA lost the election for who was to govern them, encouraged or even more by Obama himself. They lost to Hamas terrorists. The Arabs were not familiar with governing, elections, or freedom and they cast their vote probably at the end of a gun, knife or rifle, at least without thought, only might.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the Atlantic Council, January 14, 2025."What followed was a psychedelic fantasy with no connection to recent events in the Middle East, with Blinken floating in the sunny air of Narnia inside his head:"
“We believe that the Palestinian Authority should invite international partners to help establish and run an interim administration with responsibility for key civil sectors in Gaza like banking, water, energy, health, and civil coordination with Israel,” Blinken began. (Who is "WE?")
“The international community would provide funding, technical support, and oversight. The interim administration would include Palestinians from Gaza and representatives from the PA – selected following meaningful consultation with communities in Gaza – and would hand over complete responsibility to a fully reformed PA administration as soon as it’s feasible.”
"The “capacity and legitimacy” of the PA, which Blinken described as the “only viable alternative” to Hamas, has been undermined by the current government in Jerusalem, Blinken claimed."
What Netanyahu says, and it is Israel who has bore the pain, bloodshed of defending their country; is slightly different, not choosing the present PA to run Gaza since he has had experience in dealing with them for years and years.
"Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly prepared to allow Palestinian Authority officials to govern Gaza when the war against Hamas has ended. Top aides of the Israeli prime minister told the Times of Israel that while he is opposed to the “current PA,” Netanyahu could accept a reformed Ramallah leadership playing a role in running the territory. That would likely involve the authority better addressing extremism and terrorism in the West Bank, the Israeli newspaper wrote." Netanyahu has considered many options for the position,
Mahmoud Abbas, President after Arafat died, since May 8, 2005. born 15 November, 1935; almost 90 years old, a little younger than me; and I can tell you that he's in no position to run Gaza. The Palestinian president has yet to condemn the October 7 attack, though he has criticized Hamas’s decision to launch the terror raid.
Blinken let the cat out of the bag today through Glick that Hamas has been non-compliant for 2 main reasons. 1. When Israel is pressured by the USA, they are happy so refuse to agree to a cease-fire and the hostage releases. 2. They are waiting for more attacks from their friends to supplement theirs. They expect more from Hezbollah, for instance. In other words, they want more fighters than those already signing on. So has Blinken done his best to shore up Netanyahu's defense plan for Israel? I certainly hope so. We never want to see another October 7th again!
