Sderot Before Attack : Sderot is a western Negev city and former development town in the Southern District of Israel. The Negev is the desert. In 2021, it had a population of 30,553. Sderot is located nearby Gaza, with the closest point being 840 metres (2,760 ft) away. Israel was born May 1948. Sderot was founded in 1951 as a transit camp for Israeli immigrants, primarily from Kurdistan and Iran. It was originally called Gabim Dorot and housed 80 families. It was later renamed Sderot, a symbolic nod to the numerous avenues of trees planted in the Negev to combat desertification and beautify the arid landscape. Like many localities in the Negev, a green motif was chosen in keeping with the Zionist vision of "making the desert bloom."Sderot, Israel, the Israeli town so close to Gaza.
Hamas has let it be known that the plans for this surprise savage bludgeoning along with rockets, mortars and missiles against Israel October 7th which hasn't stopped was started two years ago in 2021.
Read the article I wrote then about how Israel had the plan to stop further attacks listed below. "Hamas 2021 Rocket Attack of 4,340 on Israel and How Israel Aims At Stopping Future Attacks"
What brought such an attack, so unusual compared to the never-ending rocket attacks that Hamas shoots at Israel periodically? This time it was an incursion by para-gliders, by sea, by land in the form of motorcycles, vehicles, by foot, as if Israel were attacked by a swarm of locusts. Even Israel was caught off-guard, their security seemingly having the power-switch pulled out of the socket, without any reason for going mad; like having a nervous breakdown. No, it was planned 2 years ago, methodically, on purpose, even having maps of where babies were kept, vicious unbelievable bloody slaughter of innocent people.
Palestinians, Arabs from many points surrounding Israel, came into the land looking for jobs in the 1880s. Before that, the Arabs living there were having a tough go of it with the Ottoman Empire who were the land-owners for the past 400 years who expected them to pay their high taxes. They were not very good farmers so couldn't pay easily. It was a time that Jews were leaving the Russian empire and returning to their native land which was Palestine-renamed that from Israel by the Romans in 135 CE. These Jews bought and paid for the land and the Arabs were delighted since they asked atrocious prices and the Jews paid. The Arabs left for such places as Paris. This was the Jews' holy land that they had been kept out of for too long and now it was available.
Weizmann and Feisal at the Paris meetings in the 20sEven the famous Arab leader, Emir Feisal, along with his friend, the Jewish Chaim Weizmann, was all for the discussed Jewish state to be born, hoping for their assistance in educating his followers, the Arabs.
Husseini with HitlerBut the Arab population just followed Haj Amin al-Husseini, the home grown leader who was a violent man, who had even gone to Germany and was a co-conspirator with Hitler. Feisal saved himself, becoming King over Iraq and Syria in the process.
The history is such that Israel was declared a state on May 14, 1948 by all the legalities of doing so through the League of Nations that had turned into the United Nations. Golda Meier was one of those who announced it on the radio to the world.
Arabs attacked 5 minutes later, and kept it up with wars, with one happening in June 1967 where they had all the armies of Arabs involved attacking. However, a miracle happened with Israel coming out the winner, gaining back land originally theirs in the first place-so the attack gained the Arabs nothing; they lost land instead.
Their meeting in Khartoum, Africa afterwards came to the decision of never ever being compliant with peace with the Jews. The Arab population-called Palestinians-and one must realize that Jews were also called Palestinians up to the creation of Israel in 48, because they all were living there; kept up attacking the Jewish centers.
This led to more wars but never peace. The Arabs turned down every opportunity that Israel offered, swaying back and forth between the Left and the Right governments of Israel as the conditions changed with the Arabs.
The question asks what conditions were 2 years ago. The world was in the middle of COVID. Iran's arms-terror groups used by Iran and aim to destroy Israel is active.

In 2021, 10–17 May – Arab-Israeli protests and riots occur, particularly in towns with large Arab populations, and in intercommunal violence, Arab rioters set ten synagogues and 112 Jewish homes on fire, loot 386 Jewish homes and damaged another 673, and set 849 Jewish cars on fire and there are 5,018 recorded instances of . stone-throwing against Jews;

- in action which means that some Jews could be killed by the terrorists.
