Hollywood's Youth Blind To Our History As Oscars Prove

 Nadene Goldfoot

The primary source of the Oscars  of frustration was No Other Land’s win for Best Documentary and its creators’ acceptance speeches, which criticized Israel and called for the release of hostages while advocating for national rights for both of our people.”

Co-director is Basel Adra on left, a Palestinian activist who is from Masafer Yatta, a region of Judea Samaria and Yuval Abraham, the other co-director.

“No Other Land,” a portrait of a West Bank village under Israeli military occupation, won the Oscar for best documentary feature at the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday. In their acceptance speech, two of the film’s four directors pleaded for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

First, how about the rights of Israelis to live in their homes without being attacked by the Palestinians who showed how merciless they were in their slaughtering of our people!

We've gained our rights by going through the correct channels beginning in WWI  by dealing with the powered people, the Allies fighting against the German side of the battle.  It took years, but we were able to announce the birth of our nation, Israel, on May 14, 1948 when the 30 year British Mandate was up.  That was 30 years of waiting for us during the Nazi regime when 6 million of us were about to be and were murdered.

Second, what rights Palestinians have were already given to them by the Israelis over and over again but they have refused them, opting out instead for driving Israelis into the sea and off the land.  in other words, killing Jews and putting an end to Israel as they had tried starting in the 1920s.

Basel Adra, born in 1996, will be 29 in June.

Adra went on to describe the issues faced by his village, including home demolitions and displacement.  injustice and ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people, which is what he sees, which is at the fault of Hamas terrorists who will not stop attacking Israel in trying to wipe it off the map.  This is something the population like Adra does not like to admit.  Israel gives the Palestinian population every chance to leave the areas that Hamas is hiding and sniping from, there on purpose to give Israelis the bad rap, not caring that their own people die in the result.

Born 1995, Abraham at the 2024 Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) is 30.

Yuval Abraham, an Israeli investigative journalist who co-directed “No Other Land,” described Adra as his “brother” but decried that they are considered “unequal.”  He had the audacity to say in a mike to a packed audience "“We live in a regime where I am free under civilian law and Basel is under military laws that destroy his life,” Abraham said.  I can't believe how he could say this!  Doesn't he attend school in Israel?  Hasn't he learned our history?  It's like his brain has been taken over by AI and he's not an Israeli.  So I've checked out his history:

"Based in Jerusalem, Abraham was born to an Israeli middle-class family in the southern city of Beersheba. He is of Mizrahi Jewish and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry; his Jewish Yemenite grandfather was a fluent Palestinian Arabic speaker. One of his grandmothers was born in an Italian concentration camp in Libya, and one of his grandfathers lost most of his family in the Holocaust. At 19, Abraham was enlisted and assigned to the Israel Defense Forces's Intelligence Corps, but he never assumed his role: after a week in training, he refused to serve for political and personal reasons and decided to leave the army. The process of leaving took a few weeks, during which he was assigned to be a quartermaster in the Air force. After he left the military he did volunteer work with Israeli and Palestinian children at schools for two years.  Learning Arabic and meeting Palestinians in the West Bank, including staying with families as their homes were demolished by the Israeli Defense Force, is how Abraham became an outspoken critic of the military occupation of Palestinians. He has worked in language education and taught Arabic."

If Israel just gave up because they would kill Palestinians in the wake of war, they would of course lose, be killed themselves plus their families, and so the only decision they can make is give them the way to leave and continue the war.  Remember, it was Hamas who started the war.  This particular attack starting it all was the October 7th invasion of hoards of Palestinians, Hamas and "Innocent Palestinians?"  Ha!   They took lives as brutally as can be done, lives celebrating the end of a Jewish holiday, slaughtered them horribly as if in a horror movie, taking others on orders from their leaders to be tortured later and used for bait.  Oh, we Jews could certainly create a movie about this, and may do just that one day.

Look, Abraham, it's time you studied about the Ashkenazi world of Jews and how they have suffered and were in need of their own national home where all Jews living in Jerusalem were that was destroyed in 70 CE by the Romans who overwhelmed their ancestors, killing so many by starvation and force, causing the remained to flee with the wind into other parts of the world.  It's taken us over 2,000 years to gain back the land that was waiting for us, and here we are---all legal through the UN of the day;  League of Nations and the United Nations.  Sephardis had it bad, too, such as being treated as 2nd class people, and there were a few pogroms in your territory against Jews, and it's all studied about in Israel's schools, I should hope.  I was a teacher in Safed, but the English teacher, and was not teaching history.  I know they did some re-enactments of different parts of history, something my husband , a teacher and actor, would have loved them doing as well.

Read some history, like The Settlers by Meir Levin and Joan Peters' From Time Immemorial and of course, The Source by James A.Michener!  Exciting reading and getting history at the same time!

United Nation and Europe's Report Card From Ron Prosor

Jewish Press, Ron Prosor
Nadene Goldfoot
Ambassador to UN Ron Prosor of Israel-11/24/2014.  He has served as Ambassador to UK and director-general of Israel's Foreign Ministry
"The world's unrelenting focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an injustice to tens of millions of victims of tyranny and terrorism in the Middle East.  As we speak, Yazidis, Bahai, Kurds, Christians and Muslims are being executed and expelled by radical extremists at a rate of 1,000 people per month.

How many resolutions did you pass last week to address this crisis?  And how many special sessions did you call for?  The answer is zero.  What does this say about international concern for human life?  Not much, but it speaks volumes about the hypocrisy of the international community."

(Even today, 120, mostly children from 16 to 20, were killed in a Pakistani school by a Taliban attack.  Taliban terrorists want the families of these children to feel their pain.  This was a revenge attack for having military operations within their tribal land.)

"Of the 300 million Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, less than 1/2 a % are truly free--and they are all citizens of Israel.  Israeli Arabs are some of the most educated Arabs in the world.  They are our leading physicians and surgeons.  They are elected to our parliament, and they serve as judges on our Supreme Court.  Millions of men and women in the Middle East would welcome these opportunities and freedoms.

Nonetheless, nation after nation will stand at this podium today and criticize Israel---the small island of democracy in a region plagued by tyranny and oppression.

Our conflict has never been about the establishment of a Palestinian state.  It has always been about the existence of the Jewish state.

67 years ago this week (spoken on November 24, 2014) the United Nations voted to partition the land into a Jewish state and an Arab state.  The Jews said yes.  The Arabs said no.  But they didn't just say no.  Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon launched a war of annihilation against our newborn state.

According to the United Nations, about 700,000 Palestinians were displaced in the war initiated by the Arabs themselves.  At the same time, some 850,000 Jews were forced to flee from Arab countries.

Why is it that 67 years later, the displacement of the Jews has been completely forgotten by this institution while the displacement of the Palestinians is the subject of an annual debate?

The difference is that Israel did its utmost to integrate the Jewish refugees into society.  The Arabs did just the opposite.

The worst oppression of the Palestinian people takes place in Arab nations.  In most of the Arab world, Palestinians are denied citizenship and are aggressively discriminated against.  They are barred from owning land and prevented from entering certain professions.

And yet none of these crimes are mentioned in the resolutions before you.

When it comes to matters of security, Israel learned the hard way that it cannot rely on others---certainly not Europe.

In 1973, on the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, the surrounding Arab nations launched an attack against Israel.  In the hours before the war began, Golda Meir, our prime minister then, made the difficult decision not to launch a preemptive strike.  The Israeli government understood that if we launched a preemptive strike, we would lose the support of the international community.

As the Arab armies advanced on every front, the situation in Israel grew dire.  Our casualty count was growing and we were running dangerously low on weapons and ammunition.  In this, our hour of need, President Nixon and Secretary of State Kissinger agreed to send Galaxy planes loaded with tanks and ammunition to resupply our troops.  The only problem was that the planes needed to refuel en route to Israel.

Our very existence was threatened and yet Europe was not even willing to let the planes refuel.  The U.S. stepped in once again and negotiated that the planes be allowed to refuel in the Azores.

The government and people of Israel will never forget that when our very existence was at stake, only one country came to our aid---the United States of America.  Israel is tired of hollow promises from European leaders.  You failed us in the 1940s.  you failed us in 1973.  And you are failing us again today.

Every European parliament that voted to prematurely and unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state is giving the Palestinians exactly what they want--statehood without peace.  By handing them a state on a silver platter, you are rewarding unilateral actions and taking away any incentive for the Palestinians to negotiate for compromise or renounce violence.  You are sending the message that the Palestinian Authority can sit in a government with terrorists and incite violence against Israel without paying any price.

Israel learned the hard way that listening to the international community can bring about devastating consequences.   In 2005, we unilaterally dismantled every settlement and removed every citizen from the Gaza Strip.  Did this bring us any closer to peace?  Not at all.  It paved the way for Iran to send its terrorist proxies to establish a terror stronghold on our doorstep.

I can assure you we won't make the same mistake again.  When it comes to our security, we cannot and will not rely on others---Israel must be able to defend itself by itself.

Israel is the land of our forefathers---Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  It is the land where Moses led the Jewish people, where David built his palace, where Solomon built the Jewish Temple, and where Isaiah saw a vision of eternal peace.

For thousands of years Jews have lived continuously in the land of Israel.  We endured through the rise and fall of the Assyrian, Babylonian, Greek and Roman empires.  And we endured thousands of years of persecution, expulsions, and crusades.  The bond between the Jewish people and the Jewish land is unbreakable.

Nothing can change one simple truth---Israel is our home and Jerusalem is our eternal capital.
At the same time, we recognize that Jerusalem has special meaning for other faiths.  Under Israeli sovereignty, all people, regardless of religion and nationality, can visit the city's holy sites.  And we intend to keep it this way.  The only ones trying to change the status quo on the Temple Mount are Palestinian leaders.

President Abbas is telling his people that Jews are contaminating the Temple Mount.  He has called for days of rage and urged the Palestinians to prevent Jews from visiting the Temple Mount using, quote, "all means necessary."  These words are as irresponsible as they are unacceptable.

You don't have to be Catholic to visit the Vatican;  you don't have to be Jewish to visit the Western Wall;  but some Palestinians would like to see the day when only Muslims can visit the Temple Mount.

Israelis are ready for peace, but we are not naive.  Israel's security is paramount.  Only a strong and secure Israel can achieve a comprehensive peace.

Recent events should make it clear to anyone that Israel has immediate and pressing security needs.  Palestinian terrorists have shot and stabbed our citizens, driven their cars into crowds of pedestrians, and savagely attacked Jewish worshipers during morning prayers.  These attacks didn't emerge out of a vacuum.  They are the results of years of indoctrination and incitement.

As a Jew and as an Israeli, I know with utter certainty that when our enemies say they want to attack us, they mean it.

Hamas's genocidal charter calls for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews worldwide.  For years, Hamas and other terrorist groups have launched rockets into our towns and sent suicide bombers and terrorists into our cities.

And what about the Palestinian Authority?  It is leading a systemic campaign of incitement.  In schools, children are being taught that "Palestine" will stretch from the Jordan 'River to the Mediterranean Sea.  In mosques, religious leaders are spreading vicious libels accusing Jews of destroying Muslim holy sites.  In sports stadiums, teams are named after terrorists.  And in newspapers, cartoons urge Palestinians to commit terror attacks against Israelis.

Children in most of the world grow up watching cartoons of Mickey Mouse singing and dancing.  Palestinians children also grow up watching Micky Mouse, but on Palestinian national television a twisted figure dressed as Mickey Mouse dances in an explosive belt and chants "Death to America and death to the Jews."

Most people believe that at its core, the conflict is a battle between Jews and Arabs or Israelis and Palestinians.  They are wrong.  The battle that we are witnessing is a battle between those who sanctify life and those who celebrate death.

Following the savage attack in a Jerusalem synagogue, celebrations erupted in Palestinian towns and villages.  People were dancing in the street and distributing candy.  Young men posed with axes, loudspeakers at mosques called out congratulations, and the terrorists were hailed as "martyrs" and "heroes."

This isn't the first time we saw Palestinians celebrate the murder of innocent civilians.  We have seen them rejoice after every terrorist attack on Israeli civilians and they even took to the streets to celebrate the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center right here in New York City.

Imagine the type of state this society would produce.  Does the Middle East really need another terror-ocracy?  Some members of the international community are aiding and abetting its creation.

As we came into the UN, we passed the flags of all 193 member states.  If you take the time to count, you will discover that there are 15 flags with a crescent and 25 flags with a cross.  And then there is one flag with a Jewish Star of David.  Amid all the nations of the world, there is one state--just one small nation state for the Jewish people.

And for some people, that is one too many. As I stand before you today, I am reminded of all the years when the Jewish people paid for the world's ignorance and indifference in blood.  Those days are no more.

We will never apologize for being a free and independent people in our sovereign state.  And we will never apologize for defending ourselves.

Louis Farrakhan, America's Big Anti-Semite, At It Again Through Nation of Islam

Nadene Goldfoot

Islamic leader, Louis Farrakhan spoke at a Detroit Baptist Church and attacked Jews, calling them "Satanic Jews."  He spoke of the "Synagogue of Satan."  In his speech he claimed that Jewish people control the news media!  I have to laugh at this one.  He should know that the news media is the worst in the USA in promoting Israel.  They rarely say anything good about Israel and love to print anything demeaning if they can find it, and that goes for any Jewish scandal as well.   This is the ago old "say something with verbosity and people will believe you," but saying Jews control the media beats all.  This is ancient anti-Semitic propaganda.  Why, the only TV news station that says anything fairly good about Israel has been Fox, and they're always in trouble for doing so, and I have detected a softening even with Bill O'Reilly. CNN makes me shudder, especially from one of their prized commentators when covering the subject of Israel.

Covering this speech of Farrakhan's, who is the well known leader of the mainly African-American religious movement, the Nation of Islam (NOI), was the Detroit Free Press.  He has been the minister of major mosques in Boston and Harlem.  Appointed by the longtime NOI leader, Elijah Muhammad before his death in 1975, he became the National Representative of the Nation of Islam.  So he's definitely a leader of anti-Semitic ideas with his people being so much anti-Semitism is coming out of mosques these days. I cite Qaradawi of Qatar as one big example who has a fatwah out to kill all Jews. he speaks out on al-Jazeera.    Farrakhan  is responsible for reopening over 130 NOI mosques in America and the world.  Perhaps it is he who has coerced the media into their anti-Semitic stand.

Farrakhan wasn't even letting Obama off the hook by saying that  he surrounded himself with Satan...members of the Jewish community.  This in itself is rather amusing, being he has had a few Jews on his staff, but they have been in complete harmony with him, being staunch Democrats.  It is their political viewpoint, not their religious one that connects them to Obama.  These Jews barely know a thing about Israel, which is my personal opinion based on what problems Israel has had to face with this administration.  I don't know what they could have coerced Obama into agreement with being they are just like him.  Being that Jews make up only 2% of our American population goes to saying that Farrakhan just can't understand why they can rise to such importance as being advisers to the president.  He shouldn't complain, though, not in this 2008-2116 period.  Blacks are only about 11% of the population of the USA.

Representative John Conyers was in the audience and was quite embarrassed.   He said, "Farrakhan made unacceptable racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements, which I condemn in the strongest possible terms."  He said he thought the speech would be about the challenges facing the city of Detroit.  Come on, Conyers.  You know who Farrakhan is and what he has stood for in the past.  His biggest thing is attacking Jews.  Here was his chance at age 79 to tell a congregation at a Black Baptist church how he feels about Jews.  I don't know of any leopard  that can change his spots.  He has changed his name a lot, though  Louis Farrakhan Muhammad, Sr, was born as Louis Eugene Wolcott  and was also formerly known as Louis X, which is rather like the famous Malcolm X.

Malcolm X was born as Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska whose father was a Baptist minister and supporter of the Black Nation's leader, Marcus Garvey.  Malcolm studied the teachers of the NOI leader,  Elijah Muhammad.  "By 1942 Malcolm was coordinating various narcotics, prostitution and gambling rings in Harlem, New York."  What he learned from Elijah was that "among other goals, the NOI fought for a state of their own, separate from one inhabited by white people."  So he learned that white man purposely kept the black man down, to hate whites and especially to hate Jews.

Louis Farrakhan and  Malcolm X's mentor, Elijah Muhammad was born as Elijah Robert Pool in Georgia in 1897 and died in 1975.  His father was also a Baptist lay preacher and sharecropper and was only able to get a 4th grade education.   "In August 1931, at the urging of his wife, Elijah Poole attended a speech on Islam and black empowerment by  Wallace  D. Fard.  There you have the beginning of a movement lacking peace and promoting hatred.

Rep. John Conyers is a man, also black,  of 84 in his 25th term in Congress.  He is someone who has an anti-Israel voice in Congress.  Now who do you suppose is his informant about Jews?  He has been against Iran sanctions and against the US funding the Iron Dome and anti-missile system.  His other side is that he's a typical left wing Democrat who wants things on his agenda fixed.  Luckily, others besides me attacked him for attending Farrakhan's night at the church.  Matt Drudge, an internet journalist who has the "Drudge Report" attacked him, and the ADA told Conyers and others to condemn these nasty remarks.  Conyers apologized to those who may have been offended by the "minister's" words.  Isn't he more like an Iman than a minister?  Well, I, for one,  am not only offended, but I am incensed at his words.  They're malicious and evil words that have nothing to do with truth.  .

Detroit is a big important city that has seen better days.  It has been going downhill fast in this economy.  They haven't tackled their deficit.  What has Farrakhan done to help his people get jobs and improve their lot?   His only religious lessons are to blame and hate Jews.  He reminds me of another leader in the 1930's and 40's who did this.  Better and more useful words have been spoken by Bill Cosby, who encourages education as the formula for successes and happiness.  I note that these anti-Semites have been very short on this end.

I can throw in that my father, Jewish, also had to quit high school and not finish because he had to help support his widowed mother and younger sisters.  It happened, but he didn't blame anyone.  He worked hard, challenged himself and developed skills as a butcher, then a cattle buyer, and finally owned his own meat packing business.  That's the American success story.  He did it even though there were a lot of anti-Semitic people around, too.  You have to believe in yourself and like yourself and know that you can succeed.  You don't join a hate group and blame others for your lacking.  You build your own support group of a loving family.  You give life your best shot, again and again if need be.  That's how you become proud of yourself.
