Is Defending Swalwell Accused Sex Offender Hopeless?

Born November 16, 1980) is an American politician who served as a U.S. representative from 2013 to 2026 (13 years). He was first elected from California's 15th congressional district in 2012, and served until 2023 when new maps switched him to the 14th district. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

I'm tired and shouldn't write this, the the story that came out " about Rep. Eric Swalwell is still on my mind settling in there in amazement at today's education of young women. I was born a Democrat with a mother who changed as she saw fit to do, so I guess I take after her.  I am tired of both parties, but independent wins nothing, usually.  I'm a mother of a son and a daughter.  

Suddenly so close to election time, four women appeared from the Democratic side describing sexual misconduct by him including a former staffer who says he even raped her!  

His Democratic competition:  The list of other potentially viable Democrats in the race includes billionaire activist Tom Steyer, who has blanketed the television airwaves by pumping at least $110 million into advertising; progressive former Rep. Katie Porter; former Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra; former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan; California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond; and former state controller Betty Yee, 7 in competition !  

His bad luck in dealing with Republicans was back in May 215.  Given Swalwell's position on the House Intelligence Committee, he played a role in investigating the links between Trump associates and Russian officials during his third term, saying, "It's always smelled like collusion.

In 2018, the U.S. Department of Justice under the Trump administration seized Swalwell's personal data. The record seizure also targeted Adam Schiff, who chaired the House Intelligence Committee.

Swalwell served as an impeachment manager (prosecutor) during President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial.

He garnered another incident.  In December 2020, Swalwell was named in an Axios story about suspected Chinese spy Fang Fang (方芳; Fāng Fāng), known as Christine Fang.  Swalwell ended ties with Fang in 2015 after U.S. intelligence briefed him and top members of Congress on concerns that Chinese agents were attempting to infiltrate Congress.  Swalwell had done nothing bad. 

On April 11, 2026, in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations which caused Swalwell to drop out of the 2026 California gubernatorial election, Axios reported that Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna intended to file a bill forcing the expulsion of Swalwell and representative Tony Gonzales, another member of the House of Representatives accused of sexual misconduct. On April 13, Swalwell announced his plan to resign from Congress. That same day, Gonzales announced his own resignation.  These men have dropped out.

What got to me was the report of the one lady most on TV was her telling of trading nude pictures of each other !  Then she told how she drank so much alcohol that she lost control of herself, winding up in his bed feeling like she had had relations with him;  so she winds up causing him to lose what he has been preparing for all these years....and don't say,  copying Bill Clinton !  

Didn't her mother ever tell warn her about such things?  Mine did.  I'm 91 years old, so people of the past were helping their daughters to be safe rather than sorry.  The woman cried briefly when sobbing  that no one protected her.  Well, she is expected to know about such things herself!! Or have schools stopped completely?  I even remember a gross movie we were presented with at the theater showing nude men from the waist down  and what made them different than us women.  It was part of our sex education here in Portland, Oregon.  

Thus, anybody with common sense should know what can happen when you share nude pictures of each other and drink alcohol with that person at any time and what the man might be expecting.  

My mother told me that when a man gets overly exciting smooching, their sexual expectations cannot be changed.  They cannot stop!  

Now, Homo Sapien men go back to Africa approximately 300,000 to 350,000 years ago. The oldest known fossils, discovered in Jebel Irhoud, Morocco, indicate that early, or "archaic," Homo sapiens were widespread across Africa by roughly 300,000 to 315,000 years ago. Anatomically modern humans emerged closer to 200,000–300,000 years ago.  The point is, they have had such hormones for a long long time.  We've had our own hormones to protect our children for the same length.  There was a reason for both;  for men, to procreate, which, if they aren't more careful, could do that when they don't mean to.  

I see Democrats on the View, and they are desperate to get Trump out, as most all Americans want at this point, so sometimes, people create setups to destroy the other party, and Democrats surely thought there was enough of that going on hurting their own party.  All these attacks before election could have been set ups, but no one wants to take on proof of rape or sex when it happened so long ago.  I see no defense. 

Are investigations of Swalwell finished already?  What kind ?

Based on reports from April 2026, the allegations against Representative Eric Swalwell regarding sexual misconduct with four women (including a former staffer) have led to the following investigations and actions: 

• House Ethics Committee: The committee officially announced an investigation to determine if Rep. Swalwell violated the Code of Official Conduct or any laws regarding sexual misconduct, particularly toward an employee under his supervision.
• Manhattan District Attorney's Office: This office confirmed they launched an investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Swalwell.  This doesn't say it has ended.  
• Law Enforcement: A woman who alleged she was assaulted in 2018 (8 years ago)  stated she planned to report the incident to law enforcement.  When?  
• Media Investigation: The San Francisco Chronicle and CNN were primary outlets that published the allegations from the four women, which included claims of sexual assault, unwanted advances, and inappropriate messaging, prompting a chain reaction in the 2026 California governor's race. 

Following these allegations, Swalwell dropped his bid for California governor and announced his resignation from Congress. He has denied the claims, calling them "false" (what does he think he did?)  and "politically motivated".

Differences Between Merry Old England's Sexual Morals and the New World of Boston

We forget that our first ancestors to the settle  in Plymouth Rock spoke English as they were Englishmen who had moved to Holland, and finding that and the language inadequate, moved onward on the ship, the Mayflower.  The reason they were seekers of a better life for themselves was that they had left the British state Anglican religion  for their own stricter one that followed much of what the Old Testament had to offer.  England had been a Roman Catholic country until 1534 when Henry VIII had the religion become the Church of England with a few changes to the Catholic religion.  

Laura Ulrich b: 11 July 1938 in Sugar City, Idaho, a Pulitzer Prize author.  Her parents were John Thatcher and Alice Siddoway.  She was valedictorian from Utah, but also  Harvard educated and known for her study of early America and the women.  Her other book, “A Midwife’s Tale,” was later the basis for a PBS documentary film.  Ulrich self-identifies as an active feminist and Latter-day Saint (Mormon), and has written about her experiences.  She married Gael Ulrich, now emeritus professor of chemical engineering at the University of New Hampshire. 

In the book, GOOD WIVES, by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, the author shows the difference in the morality of the new immigrant from England and the new settlers already in America who were very moral, especially sexually, unlike merry old England                             

 Ulrich gives us the example of an Englishman who hopped into the bed of a neighbor after testing her gullibility, and she didn't yield but told her mother who brought suit against him.  She explains that men were called roges (rogues)  and women were whores.  "For a woman, sexual reputation was everything, for a man, it was part of a larger pattern of responsibility.  

Pilgrim punishment;  put in the stocks.  

A whore bestowed her favors indiscriminately, denying any man exclusive right to her body.  A rogue tricked or forced a woman into submission with no regard for consequences.    The words mirror traditional gender relationships.  A woman gave, a man took."  Evidently the British Isles was made up of a lot of rogues.  Not so yet in Massachusetts.

Our early settlers were very very religious.  What surprised me was the importance of the Old Testament, our Jewish Torah and Tanakh. What my husband read from the Good Book every Shabbat when we sat down about the Good wife  in Proverbs 31: An accomplished woman who can find?  Far beyond pearls is her value.  her husband's heart relies on her, and he shall lack no fortune.  She bestows goodness upn him, never evil, all the days of her life.  She seeks wool and flax, and her hands work willingly.....etc.  

...was also used by the Pilgrims.  They were big admirers of Bathsheba, King David's love and wife.  King David is the author of all proverbs, which our Jewish history tells us.  This proverb expands on the virtues of the ideal wife, so all the Pilgrim women tried to follow in her footsteps.  Scriptural models can mean quite different things to different people, thus we have the differences between Christians and Jews.  Here, Proverbs 31 stands alone as a great model of behavior, but is a hard act to follow.  The good wife is so very good!  What energy she had!

To believe in Moloch as Canaanites did was to believe and accept human sacrifice;  the opposite of what Moses brought to the descendants of Abraham-the Jews who had been expulsed from England in  1290 and not allowed back in until 365 years later in 1655.  Pilgrims had landed on Plymouth Rock by 1620.  They never met any Jews.  I wonder if they did in Holland.  That was quite the country in those days for Jews as well.  

Marranos (hidden Jews caused by the Spanish Inquisition of 1492) rather-people hiding the fact that they were Jews, started to settle in Amsterdam.  They started to settle in Holland in the Middle Ages because of the anti-Semitism in Germany. They had freedom of worship in Holland by the 17th century.  Dutch trade was expanding and that's what they were good at as a profession.  Sephardis were there first, followed by Ashkenazis later.  With the occupation of Holland by the French Revolutionary armies in 1796, the Dutch Jewry was formally emancipated.  

Also, they followed Leviticus 20, Any man from the Children of Israel and from the proselyte who lives with Israel, who shall give of his seed to Molech,(having intercourse with Canaanites who sacrified human beings- believing in false gods like Moloch-a statue)   (shall be put to death;   the people of the land shall pelt him with stones.   the Laws and Liberties of 1648 established the death penalty for adultery, yet defined the crime according to the marital status of the woman, reinforcing the old notion of a man's property rights in his wife.

She is one of the four executed Quakers known as the Boston martyrs.  This shows the ultimate Puritans (Pilgrims) not allowing another Christian group in their town-the Quakers. 

When Peter Stuyvesant had to make a decision of whether to let a small boatload of Jewish refugees into New Amsterdam (New York), he said, absolutely not.  He had to eat his words and change his position, or not get a paycheck from Holland. 

In September 1654, 23 Jews arrived in New Amsterdam aboard the St Cathrien. The Jews had come from Recife in Northeast Brazil, where they lived under Dutch rule. The Portuguese captured Recife from the Dutch and expelled the Jews.  (Spanish Inquisition).  
When the Jews arrived the captain of the ship sued them for the money to pay for their passage. The local court sold their belonging and imprisoned two of the party.

Peter Stuyvesant the governor of the colony was not happy to receive the Jews. He described the Jews as "deceitful" and very "repugnant". Stuyvesant asked permission from the Dutch East India Company, who the colony belonged to remove the Jews from the settlement. The board, which included several Jewish investors, refused and instructed the governor to allow the new Jewish settlers to remain in New Amsterdam.

The 23 Jews who arrived are not the first Jews, to arrive in North America, but it is the first record we have of a group of men women and children arriving to make it their permanent home.

Peter Stuyvesant (also known as Pietrus Stuyvesant), the son of a clergyman of Friesland, was born in the Netherlands in 1592. Stuyvesant served in the Dutch Army before receiving his appointment as director-general of New Netherland in 1646. He had served in the West Indies and was governor of the colony of Curacoa. 

A married man who had sexual relations with an unmarried woman risked only a fine or a whipping for fornication.  A married woman risked death.  A single woman risked only a fine or a whipping ---and of course, pregnancy!  That also happened with our ancestors.  Again, these laws were written for Jews 4,000-350,00- years ago, and the Pilgrims were trying to understand and follow literally in the 1600s CE without any rabbinical advice.  

The Pilgrims were a Separatist group, and they established the Plymouth Colony in 1620. Puritans went chiefly to New England, but small numbers went to other English colonies up and down the Atlantic.

Puritans played the leading roles in establishing the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1629, the Saybrook Colony in 1635, the Connecticut Colony in 1636, and the New Haven Colony in 1638. The Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations was established by settlers expelled from Massachusetts because of their unorthodox religious opinions. Puritans were also active in New Hampshire before it became a crown colony in 1691.

 Puritanism ended early in the 18th century and before 1740 was replaced by the much milder Congregational church.  Within the United States, the model of Congregational churches was carried by migrating settlers from New England into New York, then into the Old Northwest, and further.

 Unlike Presbyterians, Congregationalists practice congregational polity (from which they derive their name), which holds that the members of a local church have the right to decide their church's forms of worship and confessional statements, choose their own officers and administer their own affairs without any outside interference. Congregationalist polity is rooted in a foundational tenet of Congregationalism: the priesthood of believers. According to Congregationalist minister Charles Edward Jefferson, the priesthood of believers means that "Every believer is a priest and ... every seeking child of God is given directly wisdom, guidance, power."

Congregationalists have two sacraments: baptism and the Lord's Supper. Unlike Baptists, Congregationalists practise infant baptism. The Lord's Supper is normally celebrated once or twice a month. Congregationalists do not use the sign of the cross or invoke the intercession of saints..

Today there has been arguments about showing a sign of the 10 Commandments.  "In two 5-4 votes, the Supreme Court ruled Monday it is constitutional to display the Ten Commandments on public property as long as the intent of the exhibit isn't pushing a religious agenda. After a report from The Chicago Tribune's Jan Crawford Greenburg, two advocates debate the rulings and their fallout."

Republicans Aren't Taking the COVID 19 Vaccine and Why?

                  Trump was reported to be taking other safer methods for protection against COVID 19

        He was trusting in hydroxychloroquine.  Current data shows that it does not reduce deaths among hospitalized COVID-19 patients. nor help people with moderate disease. Do not take it without medical supervision.

             We have 328.2 million population in the USA as of 2019. 

 39,989,196 people in the USA are fully vaccinated to this date of 3/18/2021.   Many are refusing the vaccine.  Why?  Many are Republicans!  

538,000 of us have died so far from COVID 19.  We have had 29.6 million cases of this virus so far.

My father used to say that Republicans are for BIG BUSINESS and Democrats are for the small businesses. Republicans are called the Grand Old Party or GOP.  There's a lot of changes since then.   Republicans tend to take a more conservative stand on issues. They believe that the federal government should not play a big role in people's lives. Most Republicans favor lower taxes and less government spending on social programs. They believe in less government intervention in business and the economy.  Many Republicans feel that Democrats are too close to Socialism and that it only takes one more step that becomes Communism.  This has developed more so since 2008 with the emerging of President Obama.  

The Democrats  are "the Party of the People," attracting immigrants, blue-collar workers, women, and minorities. Democrats tend to take a more liberal stand on important issues. They believe that the federal government should take a more active role in people's lives, particularly those who are in need and help them financially.  

In the 2010 Census, the number of people under age 18 was 74.2 million (24.0 percent of the total population). The younger working-age population, ages 18 to 44, represented 112.8 million persons (36.5 percent). The older working-age population, ages 45 to 64, made up 81.5 million persons (26.4 percent).

How many of those Republicans are from 18 to 44-36.5% ?  That the largest age group in the USA.  

Those from 45 to 64 make up 26.4%.

Those from 65-100 are Seniors.   are about 16.2%.  WOW!  I'M A RARITY !

                                                                   

2018 and Republicans are dominant in Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, Alaska and South Carolina.  That's 13 out of 14 dominant Democratic states.  Again, it's almost even.  

                                                                     

It's amazing that there are political differences relating to protecting oneself against the newly found virus that's killing so many, that of COVID 19.  Trump wasn't backing the vaccine whole heartedly when the virus was found and facts about it were released to the populus.  He didn't follow the guidelines about not meeting in groups or the wearing of masks that our scientists were relating to us. 

 California has had the most cases with 56,952  deaths.  Worldwide, 2.68 million have died from it.  121 million cases have been recorded.  

Mutations of the virus have been developing that are stronger.  So far our vaccine is still a good protection against them.                                                                      

Now it's being reported that there is an actual difference between the two political groups in accepting  the vaccine as it has been shown to wearing masks in public.  How can that be?  Does this mean  that the difference in viewing what a political party stands for also covers trust in vaccines or the need for them as well?  As the deaths multiply, we're told to wear two masks at once.  

Ages 65 and older are hit the hardest.  Retirement homes are hit the most.  I was 85 last year in 2020 when we were first aware of such a danger. Yesterday I had my 2nd vaccine follow-up.   COVID 19 is hitting the whole world.  This virus is attacking EARTH, and the deaths are happening in great numbers .  It makes the flu epidemic of 1917 look like peanuts, but of course those earlier people had nothing to fight the virus with, and we are more advanced. 

  About 1,500 people in the U.S. are still dying every day.  Old people have the worst immune system, and we have plenty of things wrong with us now, like many of us take pills for our heart.  We are all on Medicare.  Most of us are not putting money back into the system; we're finally receiving it and using that money.  As for our value to the USA now as seniors, our value peaks at US$12.3 million for people aged 20 to 44 and declines until it reaches $5.3 million for those 65 and up.

A survey in 2018 found : that the only group voting Republican by a majority are those 65 and older.

The survey by AP Votecast, reported by The Wall Street Journal, found that 49 percent of voters 65 and older voted Republican this election cycle, compared to 48 percent who voted Democrat. Those 65 and older accounted for 26 percent of total voters in the survey.  So it's almost even in the 65 and older group of being Republican or Democrat.  

Fifty-one percent of voters ages 40 to 49 voted Democrat, while 43 percent voted Republican; 56 percent of those 30–39 went Democrat, while 37 percent backed Republicans; and 58 percent of people 25–29 years old went for Democrats, while 34 percent voted Republican.  

Sixty-three percent of those ages 18 to 24 voted Democrat, compared to 30 percent who voted Republican. Those young voters accounted for 6 percent of voters surveyed in the poll.  The younger they got, they were voting Democrat.  

Voters over the age of 60 accounted for 39.4 percent of all voters during the 2014 midterm elections, while those ages 45 to 49 made up 30.3 percent of the total.

26% of Jews are Republicans . 64% are Democrats, but Jews only make up 2% of the USA population.  9% have no preference.  

70% of Mormons are Republicans.  19% are Democrats.

44% of mainline Protestants are Republicans, 40% are Democrats.

10% of Black Protestants are Republicans, 80% of Black Protestants are Democrats, 10% neither

56% of Evangelical Protestants are Republicans, 28% of Democrats, 16% neither.  Evangelical leaders in the US have helped sow distrust in public health professionals — and COVID-19 vaccines. But some church leaders within the ranks are confronting the resistance amid the coronavirus pandemic.  Many evangelical Christians — a loosely defined group of mostly doctrinally conservative Protestants — have been fractured by myths about the COVID-19 vaccine and the pandemic.  Critics have accused right-wing fundamentalist pastors of perpetuating baseless theories that encourage their flock to ignore public health data and experts fighting the coronavirus. Some unfounded claims include the assertion that the vaccine is the mark of the beast, or will cause sterilization in women. "There is a suspicion that it (the coronavirus) is not real. They are stepping further and further away from reality," says Mark Labberton, president of the Fuller Seminary, an evangelical Christian seminary in California.  With global leaders and governments starting to approve and distribute vaccines, that misinformation could complicate the efforts of public health professionals urging people to get vaccinated.  Followers of Billy Graham are a good example, though what party he belongs to is not known.  Many presidents held him in high esteem.  

37% of Catholics are Republicans, 44% are Democrats, 19% neither

 A recent CBS News poll found 34% of Republicans say they will not be vaccinated against the coronavirus. Independents aren't too far behind, with 30% refusing the shots, while only 10% of Democrats say they'll abstain. Republicans are the least likely to say "yes," they will get the vaccine or "already did" — 42% — compared to 46% of independents and 70% of Democrats.                                      

College is affecting whether or not a student comes out as Republican or Democrat with many professors leaning towards the Democratic side.  A 2018 Pew Research Center survey took a deeper dive into the reasons for these shifting views. The survey first asked whether the higher education system in the U.S. is generally going in the right or wrong direction. A majority of Americans (61%) say it’s going in the wrong direction. Republicans and Republican leaners are significantly more likely to express this view than Democrats and Democratic leaners (73% vs. 52%).

AGES AND DEMOGRAPHICS

The Northeast had a higher percentage at the older ages, while the West had a higher percentage at the younger ages. In the four census regions, the region with the oldest median age was the Northeast (39.2), followed by the Midwest (37.7), the South (37.0), and the West (35.6).4 Table 3 shows the variation in the distribution of population across 4 The Northeast region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Midwest includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The South includes Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. The West includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Republicans hold wide advantages in party identification among several groups of voters, including white men without a college degree, people living in rural communities in the South and those who frequently attend religious services.   Republicans have leads among whites – particularly white men, those with less education and evangelical Protestants – as well as members of the Silent Generation.  The Silent Generation is the demographic cohort following the Greatest Generation and preceding the baby boomers. The generation is generally defined as people born from 1928 to 1945. By this definition and U.S. Census data, there were 23 million Silents in the United States as of 2019; in other words, Seniors from 76 to 93 years old.  I'm a part of the Silent Generation. Ha!  I haven't been very silent.  

Democrats hold formidable advantages among a contrasting set of voters, such as black women, residents of urban communities in the Northeast and people with no religious affiliation.  Democrats hold advantages in party identification among blacks, Asians, Hispanics, well-educated adults and Millennials.

A new analysis by Pew Research Center of long-term trends in party affiliation – based on surveys conducted among more than 360,000 registered voters over the past 25 years, including more than 12,000 in 2018 and 2019 – finds only modest changes in recent years.

Overall, 34% of registered voters identify as independents, 33% as Democrats and 29% as Republicans. The share of voters identifying as Republicans is now the same as it was in 2016, after having ticked down in 2017; Democratic identification is unchanged. Slightly fewer voters identify as independents than in 2017 (34% vs. 37%). See detailed tables.

Most independents lean toward one of the major parties (leaners tend to vote and have similar views as those who identify with a party), and when the partisan leanings of independents are taken into account, 49% of registered voters identify as Democrats or lean Democratic, while 44% affiliate with the GOP or lean Republican.

Though the government would expect everyone to take the vaccine, many refuse.   Title VII requires employers to provide exemptions and accommodations for employees who raise objections to receiving employer-mandated vaccines based on their sincerely held religious beliefs.  They can use religion as the basis of their refusal.  

Distrust of the Democratic Party includes distrust of the vaccine.  More Democrats demand more from the government so are happy with the vaccine.   I have a neighbor, a senior, born in a European country, little education, a Republican, affiliated with a small Christian religious group, who will not get the vaccination.  She doesn't trust it.  However,  that's only one person out of many.  

Being Our Earth is in a state of attack by mother nature  with this virus, I believe the government is doing what they should be doing to protect us.  It has taken all the scientists of the earth to fight this challenge to life.  I used to be a Democrat, and for the past 12 years have been a Republican-but then I'm a member of the Silent Generation, too, and I'm more than a college graduate.  We've seen a lot of history.  

There are several differences between the Republicans and the Democrats involving religion, ages, place they live, education and sex.  These Parties have evolved, too.  

The highest Evangelical states are Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi.  

Kentucky and Oklahoma go back and forth between the two parties, being more competitive.  As it turns out, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi are also high with Evangelical Christians and are traditional Republican states.   They are also Southern states.        Republicans have the most people refusing to take the COVID 19 vaccine.
