Mike Rogers, Republican Running Against Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan

19 years later, we see Mike as running for a Senator position,

Our Republican candidate for a Senator position is Michael J. Rogers, who will be facing  the Democrat's Abdul El-Sayed, a man backed by George Soros and his money,  in the General Election on November 3, 2026.  

Michael J. Rogers was born on June 2, 1963, making him 63 years old.  Rogers was born in Livonia, Michigan, the son of Joyce A. and John C. Rogers, and spent his early years in neighboring Redford Township.  His family moved to Brighton Township in Livingston County, where he graduated from Howell High School in 1981. He graduated from Adrian College in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology. Rogers served in the United States Army from 1985 to 1989. Rogers is on Telefonica's Technical and Security Advisory Committee and a board member of IP3 International.

From 1989 to 1994, Rogers worked as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in its Chicago office, specializing in organized crime and public corruption. He is a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In 2017, Rogers was interviewed to be director of the FBI after James Comey was dismissed,

Rogers is an American law enforcement officer and politician who served from 2001 to 2015 as the U.S. representative for Michigan's 8th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, he chaired the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence from 2011 to 2015.  Rogers was the Republican nominee in the 2024 United States Senate election in Michigan and narrowly lost to Elissa Slotkin.  He doesn't give up on  a goal.  

In August 2023, Rogers announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate to succeed the retiring Democrat Debbie Stabenow. He won the Republican primary with over 60% of the vote on August 6, 2024, and was the Republican nominee in the general election. He lost to Democratic nominee Elissa Slotkin in the general election by fewer than 20,000 votes, while Donald Trump won the state in the concurrent presidential election by just over 80,000 votes.

By April 14, 2025, Rogers announced his candidacy for his state's other U.S. Senate seat. He won the Republican primary on August 4, 2026, and will face Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed in the general election on November 3, 2026,

Rogers is strongly pro-Israel. In July 2025, he said of opposition to Israel's conduct in the Gaza war, "it is very short-sighted and politically naive to walk in and say we're not going to allow Israel to defend itself.

Since he seems to be a man of few words, I found what his party stands for:  The Republican Party is traditionally and widely considered the more staunchly pro-Israel major U.S. political party. 

Strategic Alliance: The party strongly views Israel as a core democratic ally in the Middle East and vital to U.S. strategic interests. 
Base Support: White evangelical Christians, a major component of the GOP base, strongly support Israel for religious and theological reasons. I believe that's because they use the "Old Testament" more than other Christians do, as examples of their spirit.  
Policy Actions: The party has historically championed moves like moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and supporting strong military aid packages to Israel.
Emerging Nuances: While congressional leadership remains firmly pro-Israel, parts of the newer "America First" and isolationist factions—particularly among some younger conservatives—have questioned unconditional foreign aid and deep foreign entanglements, reflecting minor emerging debates within the broader conservative movement.                           



   That's all right !  As a senior, I would love to try to debate with them.  Maybe my son even might join me, a champion debator who went to state here in Oregon from his high school.  As a teacher, I want young people to look at both sides of a position and not just one, one station, one reference only.  I was born to this reality before Israel was even created  and have been following it forever.  I've been hearing from both sides.  I know the value system of my side and the value system used on the opposing side, and believe me;  it is different, even though it may be true that a "people hurt hurt people" which is a Sayed saying that he has used.  No one, including Palestinians, have ever been hurt more in this world than Jews have, and they are not trying to hurt others.  On the contrary, we chose to teach that you do NOT do unto others that which you do not want to have done to you.  Its's original and the negative of the Christian saying, if you notice.    
I cannot say this for the Democratic party anymore.  They manage to blame all their  problems onto Jews, Israel, both.  We've been the scapegoats of the world in every generation except a very few, I've found.  Even our own Jewish brethran hold so many that are now Hellenized Jews that I can't count us anymore correctly.  We're losing traction:  
Older and younger Republicans also diverge in their views of US support for Israel, largely mirroring the differences between MAGA supporters and non-MAGA Republicans. This is in part because of the significant overlap between the groups: 71 percent of Silent Generation, Baby Boomer, or Gen X Republicans consider themselves supporters of the MAGA movement, compared to 59 percent of Millennial or Gen Z Republicans.
The MAGA movement, derived from Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan, is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political movement in the United States. Centered around Trump, it reshaped the Republican Party and American politics by emphasizing an "America First" agenda.  So we're losing ground within our own party while the youngsters are backing others.  Let's hope that well-worked debates clear the air quality.

Michigan Primary Democrat Results That Break My Heart

Abdul  El Sayed won the primary race with 48.53% of the votes . 

He ran against Haley Stevens had 47.5% of the votes, so it was split down the middle with voting.  

Now the voters have chosen a man who stands for this: 

Sayed is A progressive Democrat, El-Sayed supports Medicare for All, and in  enforcing an arms embargo on Israel and abolishing ICE. He ran for governor in 2018, placing second to Gretchen Whitmer in the Democratic primary.  

He is the son of Egyptian immigrant parents. His father, Mohamed, was raised in Alexandria, Egypt, and immigrated to the U.S. to pursue a PhD at Wayne State University. His mother, Fatten Elkomy, is a nurse practitioner in Missouri. Abdul was raised in the Detroit area by his father and stepmother Jacqueline (a native of Gratiot County, Michigan), both of whom are engineers. Sayed is also a Muslim.  In 2014, he completed a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, funded by a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans and the Medical Scientist Training Program El-Sayed did not pursue a medical license, and instead went into

public health epidemiology work.

I'll continue about his feelings about Israel as that is of importance to me.  El-Sayed has criticized Israel over its conduct in the Gaza war, calling it a genocide; in a January 2024 podcast, he called the war in the Gaza Strip a public health catastrophe and called for a ceasefire. El-Sayed has called the Gaza genocide a morality test, asking: "If you can't call it what it is, which is a genocide, then how are you going to stand up to Donald Trump? How are you going to stand up to pharma CEOs? 

 The definition of genocide is:  specific acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. The term was coined in 1944 by lawyer Raphael Lemkin and codified by the United Nations in the 1948 Genocide Convention. In no way has Israel practiced genocide on the Palestinians or any other group.  The Nazis did commit genocide on the Jews of the world.  Jews, of which I am, are the least in this world to do this to anyone.  We live under the Golden rule of not treating others as we wouldn't want others to treat us.  That is why its so hard on us.  We are living in a war period where Iran wants to wipe us out for their radical religious goal, and we cannot be complicit in helping them, for heaven's sake;  Israel is fighting for its very life, a life we thought safe once under the United Nations.  We're fighting to stay alive, to be a state that was born in 1948...78 years ago and is now the center of Shi'a Muslim's plans of destruction.

Sayed goes on:  He delivers the term, ethno state:  Definition is: An ethnostate is a political unit or country where citizenship and national identity are explicitly limited to, or dominated by, a single racial or ethnic group. In this system, the state is organized to serve the interests, culture, and power of that specific group while excluding or subordinating others. For his information, Israel is a Jewish state, all right, but differing from the Muslim state of Saudi Arabia in that 20% of the population are Muslims and other denominations. It is Jewish because we have had experience in other states that were deplorable, and learned, we needed a refuge of our own, and why not go back to our own roots?   We can not allow ourselves to be swallowed up by other religious dictates;  we know how they turn out;  been there, done that.  

In April 2026, El-Sayed said in a CNN interview: "Killing tens of thousands of people makes you pretty damn evil. It's not how evil is this one versus that one. Hamas: evil. Israeli government: evil. We can say both." In July, he said, "The question of Israel's existence is not a question. I'm not going to play this gotcha game about whether or not it has a right to exist. The question, ultimately, is about whether or not we want a politics that dignifies equal rights." 

Oh, give me a break, the others in our country of Israel are #1 citizens, not 2nd class citizens like we had been in Arab countries and Christian countries.  Just look at their record.  

El-Sayed believes Israel to be an ethno-state and has said, "I don't believe in ethno-states, and I certainly don't believe that our country is responsible to sustain ethno-states." He has said his rejection of ethno-nationalism has nothing to do with whether a country has a "right to exist", saying he "just [disputes] the idea that you should have an ethno-state" and objects to Egyptian and Saudi Arabian ethno-nationalism in the same way he objects to Zionism. (Sure, he does--he is living in a dream)

El-Sayed attributed the 2026 Iran war to AIPAC's influence in US politics. He called Israel a "rogue state" that is committing "human rights abuses, genocide, and apartheid" and said the U.S. should "stop funding the Israeli military unilateral blank checks". People like El-Sayed have even managed to change Jews into people just going along with the crowd, not checking into facts;  and this is more disturbing to me than anything.  I've seen them protest against AIPAC, Israel, and so their ignorance of their own original roots.  

Ah hah, that's what he's trying to do:  Well, the money Israel has received is another story-center of another of my blogs;  the money has kept a lot of American businesses going, surprisingly.  He hasn't checked into this at all.  USA doesn't just give money away, period, at least not to Israel. it's a "you scratch my back and I'll scratch your back as I see it.  We have helped each other.  And today, Israel has even announced the need for not being under the USA thumb as much as time allowed it to happen, that Israel is a state and does not owe their soul to the company store anymore. They are now just friends, mates in the fight for democracy, freedom and respect.                            

American Israel Public Affairs Committee.(AIPAC) It is a prominent American lobbying organization that advocates for pro-Israel policies in the United States government and aims to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. and Israel. It's our only connection to the world and does the job correctly.  

And El-Sayed is being backed to the hilt by George Soros financially. He will have to run against Mike Rogers, the Republican.  George has lots of money.

Is Defending Swalwell Accused Sex Offender Hopeless?

Born November 16, 1980) is an American politician who served as a U.S. representative from 2013 to 2026 (13 years). He was first elected from California's 15th congressional district in 2012, and served until 2023 when new maps switched him to the 14th district. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

I'm tired and shouldn't write this, the the story that came out " about Rep. Eric Swalwell is still on my mind settling in there in amazement at today's education of young women. I was born a Democrat with a mother who changed as she saw fit to do, so I guess I take after her.  I am tired of both parties, but independent wins nothing, usually.  I'm a mother of a son and a daughter.  

Suddenly so close to election time, four women appeared from the Democratic side describing sexual misconduct by him including a former staffer who says he even raped her!  

His Democratic competition:  The list of other potentially viable Democrats in the race includes billionaire activist Tom Steyer, who has blanketed the television airwaves by pumping at least $110 million into advertising; progressive former Rep. Katie Porter; former Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra; former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan; California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond; and former state controller Betty Yee, 7 in competition !  

His bad luck in dealing with Republicans was back in May 215.  Given Swalwell's position on the House Intelligence Committee, he played a role in investigating the links between Trump associates and Russian officials during his third term, saying, "It's always smelled like collusion.

In 2018, the U.S. Department of Justice under the Trump administration seized Swalwell's personal data. The record seizure also targeted Adam Schiff, who chaired the House Intelligence Committee.

Swalwell served as an impeachment manager (prosecutor) during President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial.

He garnered another incident.  In December 2020, Swalwell was named in an Axios story about suspected Chinese spy Fang Fang (方芳; Fāng Fāng), known as Christine Fang.  Swalwell ended ties with Fang in 2015 after U.S. intelligence briefed him and top members of Congress on concerns that Chinese agents were attempting to infiltrate Congress.  Swalwell had done nothing bad. 

On April 11, 2026, in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations which caused Swalwell to drop out of the 2026 California gubernatorial election, Axios reported that Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna intended to file a bill forcing the expulsion of Swalwell and representative Tony Gonzales, another member of the House of Representatives accused of sexual misconduct. On April 13, Swalwell announced his plan to resign from Congress. That same day, Gonzales announced his own resignation.  These men have dropped out.

What got to me was the report of the one lady most on TV was her telling of trading nude pictures of each other !  Then she told how she drank so much alcohol that she lost control of herself, winding up in his bed feeling like she had had relations with him;  so she winds up causing him to lose what he has been preparing for all these years....and don't say,  copying Bill Clinton !  

Didn't her mother ever tell warn her about such things?  Mine did.  I'm 91 years old, so people of the past were helping their daughters to be safe rather than sorry.  The woman cried briefly when sobbing  that no one protected her.  Well, she is expected to know about such things herself!! Or have schools stopped completely?  I even remember a gross movie we were presented with at the theater showing nude men from the waist down  and what made them different than us women.  It was part of our sex education here in Portland, Oregon.  

Thus, anybody with common sense should know what can happen when you share nude pictures of each other and drink alcohol with that person at any time and what the man might be expecting.  

My mother told me that when a man gets overly exciting smooching, their sexual expectations cannot be changed.  They cannot stop!  

Now, Homo Sapien men go back to Africa approximately 300,000 to 350,000 years ago. The oldest known fossils, discovered in Jebel Irhoud, Morocco, indicate that early, or "archaic," Homo sapiens were widespread across Africa by roughly 300,000 to 315,000 years ago. Anatomically modern humans emerged closer to 200,000–300,000 years ago.  The point is, they have had such hormones for a long long time.  We've had our own hormones to protect our children for the same length.  There was a reason for both;  for men, to procreate, which, if they aren't more careful, could do that when they don't mean to.  

I see Democrats on the View, and they are desperate to get Trump out, as most all Americans want at this point, so sometimes, people create setups to destroy the other party, and Democrats surely thought there was enough of that going on hurting their own party.  All these attacks before election could have been set ups, but no one wants to take on proof of rape or sex when it happened so long ago.  I see no defense. 

Are investigations of Swalwell finished already?  What kind ?

Based on reports from April 2026, the allegations against Representative Eric Swalwell regarding sexual misconduct with four women (including a former staffer) have led to the following investigations and actions: 

• House Ethics Committee: The committee officially announced an investigation to determine if Rep. Swalwell violated the Code of Official Conduct or any laws regarding sexual misconduct, particularly toward an employee under his supervision.
• Manhattan District Attorney's Office: This office confirmed they launched an investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Swalwell.  This doesn't say it has ended.  
• Law Enforcement: A woman who alleged she was assaulted in 2018 (8 years ago)  stated she planned to report the incident to law enforcement.  When?  
• Media Investigation: The San Francisco Chronicle and CNN were primary outlets that published the allegations from the four women, which included claims of sexual assault, unwanted advances, and inappropriate messaging, prompting a chain reaction in the 2026 California governor's race. 

Following these allegations, Swalwell dropped his bid for California governor and announced his resignation from Congress. He has denied the claims, calling them "false" (what does he think he did?)  and "politically motivated".
