PM Orban's Hungarian Associates: The Anti-Semitic Type And Jewish Hungarian, George Soros, Part II

George Soros, billionaire,  is antagonistic towards Israel.  Is it just a pretense to protect Israel from more hatred?  It doesn't seem to be.  The list of organizations is a veritable who’s who of hostile, anti-Israel actors.  One of the leaked documents shows that between 2001 and 2015, Soros funneled over $9.5 million into a range of groups including Adalah-A leading Palestinian Arab non-partisan, community-wide, non-governmental organisation located in Israel, which was established by four healthcare ..., the Al-Tufula Center-that supports Arab women in Nazareth, Israel and empowers them;  the Arab Association for Human Rights, Baladna-a Qatari agricultural company that raises livestock and produces dairy products;  The Galilee Society-A leading Palestinian Arab non-partisan, community-wide, non-governmental organization located in Israel, which was established by four healthcare ..., Molad,-promoting ending all Jewish settlements in West Bank;   the New Israel Fund-NIF is a tool for people who want to pool resources to help build a better Israel. SUPPORT JUSTICE AND EQUALITY. Take a Stand for a Better Israel, probably in Soros's view; . and others.    Billionaire George Soros generally does not hide the fact that he uses the considerable funds at his disposal to support his extremist, leftist ideals.     

Admiral Miklos Horthy, b: 1868,  with Hitler:  Miklós Horthy de Nagybánya, was a Hungarian admiral and statesman who served as the regent of the Kingdom of Hungary between the two World Wars and throughout most of World War II – from 1 March 1920 to 15 October 1944. 

 Orban is denouncing Hungary's role in the Holocaust of which  Horthy was involved.  Orbán’s statement came days after Hungary’s government received major blowback for launching an anti-migrant campaign with posters depicting the face of Hungarian-born Jewish billionaire George Soros and praising Hungary’s controversial World War II leader, Miklós Horthy​.

 What about the attacks against billionaire Jewish philanthropist George Soros? I ask.  I don't like Soros, either, but for far different reasons that Orban, I'm sure. Soros was a teen during the Holocaust, a victim who was as emotionally damaged as many other survivors.  How he turned his life into luxury and money is beyond my understanding.  The New Israel Fund he donates to describes itself as active on the issues of civil and human rights, women's rights, religious status, human rights for Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied territories, the rights of Israel's Arab minority, and freedom of speech. The New Israel Fund is the largest foreign donor to progressive causes in Israel. Its financial support for Breaking the Silence, Adalah, B’Tselem, Yesh Din, and other groups allegedly hostile to Zionist values has drawn criticism.  He helps the Palestinians, not the Jews.  It isn't making the Palestinians ending their firing rockets from Gaza or flying kites of fire into the forests or ending the terrorism.

 It's obvious to me Soros is anti-Zionistic, and to me that's anti-Semitism in itself; pretty bad for a man who suffered in the Holocaust.    Even if no antisemitic insinuation is intended, casting a Jewish individual as a puppet master who manipulates national events for malign purposes has the effect of mainstreaming antisemitic tropes and giving support, however unwitting, to bona fide antisemites and extremists who disseminate these ideas knowingly and with malice.                        

Born in Budapest in 1930, George Soros is chair of Soros Fund Management LLC. As one of history’s most successful financiers, his views on investing and economic issues are widely followed.  (He's 92 years old).  This is the official site for information about George Soros.  Born in Hungary , he lived through the Nazi occupation of 1944–1945, which resulted in the murder of over 500,000 Hungarian Jews. His own Jewish family survived by securing false identity papers, concealing their backgrounds, and helping others do the same. Soros later recalled that “instead of submitting to our fate, we resisted an evil force that was much stronger than we were—yet we prevailed. Not only did we survive, but we managed to help others.” 

George Soros HonFBA is a Hungarian-born American businessman and philanthropist. As of March 2021, he had a net worth of US$8.6 billion, having donated more than $32 billion to the Open Society Foundations, of which $15 billion have already been distributed, representing 64% of his original fortune.

 In the 2017 parliamentary election, Orbán promoted anti-Semitic imagery of powerful Jewish financiers scheming to control the world. Thousands of posters of a grinning Soros with the slogan “Let’s not allow Soros to have the last laugh!” were posted around the country on billboards, on the metro, and on the floors of Budapest’s trams. Israel’s ambassador to Hungary issued a statement denouncing the campaign, saying it “evokes sad memories but also sows hatred and fear”, an apparent reference to Hungary’s part in the deportation of 500,000 Jews during the Holocaust.

The New York Times ran an article announcing Orban was a friend to Israel and to Bigots.  He plays a double game on anti-Semitism.  One of Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s close political allies, journalist Zsolt Bayer, published a vicious rant this month denigrating, among others, the United States and President Joe Biden.  Then he picked on the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.

Blinken, who later served as U.S. ambassador to Hungary.His maternal grandparents were Hungarian Jews. Blinken's uncle, Alan Blinken, served as the U.S. ambassador to Belgium.His paternal grandfather, Maurice Henry Blinken, was an early backer of Israel who studied its economic viability, and his great-grandfather was Meir Blinken, a Yiddish writer.

The most disturbing element of Bayer’s column, however, is that at a time when Secretary of State Antony Blinken is taking a lead in decrying the recent explosion of worldwide antisemitism, Orban’s friend wrapped up his argument by using a time-honored antisemitic slur to characterize Blinken, who is Jewish.  Bayer ridiculed the assertion that Blinken had “Hungarian roots” even though his mother’s family were Jewish Hungarians who immigrated to the United States. Bayer rudely addressed the new secretary of state and exclaimed “You are completely a ROOTLESS! Hungarian as you are a rootless American.”

Remember, Hitler maligned Jews as a “rootless international clique that incites nations against each other”; Stalin employed the “rootless cosmopolitan” charge to question the patriotism of Soviet Jews and as a prelude to begin purges against prominent Soviet Jews in the 1940s and ’50s.

Zsolt Bayer, a founding member of Orbán’s ruling Fidesz party, received the Order of Merit of the Knight’s Cross this weekend for his “exemplary journalistic work,” according to the official gazette Magyar Közlöny, Bloomberg reported.  His anti-Semitism passed with colors and was exemplary!  If that's how Orban sees it, it makes him all the more of an anti-Semite.  

In a 2013 article, Bayer wrote that “a significant portion of the Gypsies are unfit for coexistence;  not fit to live among human beings. These people are animals and behave like animals.” The article was deemed racist, and the state media authority fined the Magyar Hírlap daily where it appeared, according to the Hungarian Spectrum website.

It seems that PM Viktor Orban, telling the world that Hungary had no part in the Holocaust,  has forgotten that Miklos Horthy, past government official who cozied up to Hitler, had a lot to do with the Holocaust.  He seems to ignore the fact that Zsolt Bayer, of his own party,  is a real anti-Semite. 

On an early page of Night, Elie Wiesel’s autobiographical account of the Holocaust, he recalls the Hungarian police’s orders as they echoed throughout his small Jewish ghetto. “Faster! Faster! Move, you lazy good-for-nothings!,” they screamed.

“That was when I began to hate them, and my hatred remains our only link today,” he writes. “They were our first oppressors. They were the first faces of hell and death.”

The Hungarian police were almost as bad as the Nazis.  

In a country where anti-Semitism is alarmingly commonplace, it’s irresponsible for the government to use taxpayers’ money to run a campaign that plays into anti-Semitic tropes and encourages hateful views. Hungary’s government should aim to tamp down intolerance, not stir it up.  And why are the American Republican Party listening to Orban?

Julie Bosman's, Others and Myself's Critique on "Palestine-Peace Not Apartheid" by Former President Jimmy Carter

The book  by former president Jimmy Carter, Palestine--Peace  Not Apartheid,  was published by Simon & Schuster in November 2006.  I note that this was our first president to attack Israel,  in a whole book yet.  Since he had won the 2002 Peace prize, this makes his book almost biblical in admiration.  

It was shocking to me and most of my friends back then. 

Apartheid was a system of institutionalized racial segregation that existed in South Africa and South West Africa from 1948 until the early 1990s.

It is acclaimed to be a great book by amazon readers today.

What was going on in Israel when this book came out?

 In January 2006, the Palestinians held parliamentary elections. In a surprise victory, Hamas ousted the Fatah government, but Abbas remained PNA president. The two factions briefly formed a national unity government, but, in June 2007, Hamas took control of Gaza, routing Fatah forces and killing more than 100 people. Israel responded to Hamas' seize by maintaining even tighter control on the goods and people entering and exiting the territories.

In June 2006, Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups took Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier, from Israeli territory and dragged him into Gaza. Despite prisoner exchange attempts, Shalit has been held hostage ever since. On July 12 2006, Hezbollah militants crossed the Lebanon-Israel border and attacked an Israeli army patrol, killing three soldiers and kidnapping two others. The incident coincided with a series of mortar and rocket attacks on northern Israel by Hezbollah. Both incidents provoked a month-long war in which 1,200 Lebanese and 128 Israelis were killed. Both sides stopped fighting on August 14, 2006. 

The UN and international human rights groups condemned Israel for using cluster bombs in Southern Lebanon. The war was criticized within Israel and sparked more resentment from the Arab world.  

Ha'aretz stated as fact: "The ground invasion was preceded by large-scale artillery shelling from around 4 P.M., intended to "soften" the targets as artillery batteries deployed along the Strip in recent days began bombarding Hamas targets and open areas near the border. Hundreds of shells were fired, including cluster bombs aimed at open areas."

All of these claims are based on the appearance of the shell bursting,

 and none of the sources indicate that actual cluster bomblets have been found. This looks like a case of mistaken identity showing "multiple projectiles" is actually a white phosphorus round or similar, used to 

create a smokescreen. Of course WP is also very controversial. 

However, when Carter's book first came out, that was not the case.   

There were strong critiques against it, thank goodness.  Some people were seeing the inaccuracies thrown against Israel.

Critical response to Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid has been mixed. According to Julie Bosman, criticism of the book "has escalated to a full-scale furor," much of which has focused on Carter's use of the word "apartheid" in the subtitle. Some critics, including several leaders of the Democratic Party and of American Jewish organizations, have interpreted the subtitle as an allegation of Israeli apartheid, which they believe to be inflammatory and unsubstantiated. 

Tony Karon, Senior Editor at TIME.com and a former anti-Apartheid activist for the ANC, said: "Jimmy Carter had to write this book precisely because Palestinian life and history is not accorded equal value in American discourse, far from it. And his use of the word apartheid is not only morally valid; it is essential, because it shakes the moral stupor that allows many liberals to rationalize away the daily, grinding horror being inflicted on Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza".

The truth is that the American students have not been educated about The Holocaust, Jews or Israel either.  People only believe what they see in print, which was in those days, the newspaper and their church and of course, the TV news with reporters themselves being slanted in their opinions.  Even the book used at Portland State U, Middle East-Past & Present by Yahya Armajani and Thomas M. Ricks, is highly slanted in their chapters covering Israel.  I took the course.  I read the whole book.

 Former President Bill Clinton wrote a brief letter to the chairman of the American Jewish Committee, thanking him for articles criticizing the book and citing his agreement with Dennis Ross's attempts to "straighten ... out" Carter's claims and conclusions about Clinton's own summer 2000 Camp David peace proposal.  Carter's meetings were a failure whereas Clinton's were successful.  

Critics claim that Carter crossed the line into anti-Semitism. My feeling is that the whole book was defaming Israel right from the title, and Israel was created for our remnant of Jews in the world, so in effect he was attacking Jews.  What was happening in Israel was that Palestinians were trying to destroy the Jews-drive them into the sea, and have the country for themselves.  It's obvious, not a time to be pussy-footing around with semantics--oh, he's calling Israel names but certainly not the Jews--oh yes, I know how much we are loved.  For heaven's sake, the title of the book was accusing Israel of Apartheid, a terrible word used against British-held Africa.  It has connotations of cruelty, hatefulness against a defenseless people.  What more do you want in being anti-Semitic?  

Abraham Foxman, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, initially accused Carter of "engaging in anti-Semitism" in the book;  "Foxman told James Traub later that he would not call the former president himself an "anti-Semite" or a "bigot". Ethan Bronner also asserted that Carter's "overstatement" in the book "hardly adds up to anti-Semitism."  

Some journalists and academics have praised Carter for what they believe to be speaking honestly about the Israeli–Palestinian conflict in a media environment described as hostile to opponents of Israel's policies.  I argue, what about accuracy?  The honesty comes only from 

Carter in that he's writing about his own belief system; not from facts.

 

Some left-leaning Israeli politicians such as Yossi Beilin and Shulamit Aloni argued that Carter's critique of Israeli policy in the Palestinian territories reflects that of many Israelis themselves.  

 Norman Finkelstein, a pal of Norman Chomsky,  two of the biggest American-Jewish anti-Semites, did Israel  ultimate harm  who defends Carter's analysis in Palestine Peace Not Apartheid: "After four decades of Israeli occupation, the infrastructure and superstructure of apartheid have been put in place. Outside the never-never land of mainstream American Jewry and U.S. media,  this reality is barely disputed."  They have been so anti-against

Israel has said that they are no longer welcome in Israel.  Finkelstein has eased up, but not Chomsky.  

 In this book Carter argues that Israel's continued control and construction of settlements have been the primary obstacles to a comprehensive peace agreement in the Middle East. That perspective, coupled with Apartheid in the titular phrase Peace Not Apartheid (which many regard as a subtitle) and allegations of errors and misstatements in the book, sparked criticism. Carter has defended his book and countered that response to it 

Even the use of "settlements" is a mis-conscrewed term.  Foreign writers such as Carter keep calling cities 50 years old as settlements.  In USA, a settlement was used when forts were built in the wilderness, but then after a few years were called villages, towns and cities.  A settlement feels like something that  is only temporary.  

Here's what Carter said about his title.

Regarding the use of the word "Apartheid" in the title of his book, Carter has said:  It's his denial: 

"It's not Israel. The book has nothing to do with what's going on inside Israel which is a wonderful democracy, you know, where everyone has guaranteed equal rights and where, under the law, Arabs and Jews who are Israelis have the same privileges about Israel. That's been most of the controversy because people assume it's about Israel. It's not."I've never alleged that the framework of apartheid existed within Israel at all, and that what does exist in the West Bank is based on trying to take Palestinian land and not on racism. So it was a very clear distinction."

 "Sorry but that's not distinction at all.  A title refers to what you're writing about.  The title said it all.  This is double talk.   

Book reviews in the mainstream media have been written mostly by representatives of Jewish organizations who would be unlikely to visit the occupied territories, and their primary criticism is that the book is anti-Israel. 

Two members of Congress have been publicly critical. Incoming Speaker Nancy Pelosi for instance, issued a statement (before the book was published) saying that "he does not speak for the Democratic Party on Israel." Some reviews posted on Amazon.com call me "anti-Semitic", and others accuse the book of "lies" and "distortions. A former Carter Center fellow has taken issue with it, and Alan Dershowitz called the book's title "indecent."

Evidently Carter had to do a little apologizing-after the deed had been done.  

He also wrote a "Letter to Jewish Citizens of America" explaining "his use of the term 'apartheid' and sympathizing with Israelis who fear terrorism." 

As president, didn't he realize such reactions when using that  title?  

He's implying that Israel is apartheid against the Palestinians.  

 He was attacking Israel's integrity, purpose, all they stood for by

  doing so. 

 He was giving ammunition to Israel's enemies to use against  her.   

Carter blamed his title.  He chose that title. 

 From reading that title, I would not stoop to buy  the book and read it. Millions did.  

Today, the book store my friend just visited was full of  Obama's book that also attacks Israel.

 Bookstores can attract customers with such books, and the authors rake in the proceeds, 

so that Israel's enemies gain more power and ammunition.   

Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer from Georgia before he became President, not a historian and expert on Israel, though he was a Sunday School teacher.

Khamaeni, the Holocaust Denier and Why He's So Wrong

The Mufti  issued a fatwa, a summons to a holy war against BRITAIN in May 1941 and this was declared in Iraq.  The Mufti of Jerusalem  was then instrumental in the pro-Nazi coup.    However, when the Jewish immigrants  were attempting to get to Palestine by shiploads in the late 30's, Nazis were at the apex of attacking Jews in Germany.   Then  England decided not to follow the  mandate to create a Jewish State there.  Instead, they decided to re-admit former supporters of the Mufti of Jerusalem, the Arabs, into Palestine instead and forcibly kept the Jews out!

"Most Holocaust denial claims imply, or openly state, that the Holocaust is a hoax arising out of a deliberate Jewish conspiracy to advance the interest of Jews at the expense of other peoples. For this reason, Holocaust denial is generally considered to be an antisemitic conspiracy theory, frequently encountering criticism."  Holocaust deniers are calling themselves revisionists, lately.  They can call themselves many things, but I call them stupid.

" Aushwitz was a network of concentration and extermination camps built and operated by the Third Reich in Polish areas annexed by Nazi Germany during World War II. It consisted of Auschwitz I (the base camp); Auschwitz II–Birkenau (the extermination camp); Auschwitz III–Monowitz (a labor camp to staff an IG Farben factory), and 45 satellite camps."  This was just one of many.  

Germans were good at many things, and the one thing they were outstanding in from the 30's onwards was in keeping records.  They recorded every minute of the Holocaust including all its ugliness.  To say that the Holocaust didn't exist is ridiculous.  There are so many records of every detail taken by the Nazis themselves. They took still pictures and moving pictures as well as moving picture news reports.   One would have had to have been either just born recently and kept from the library or if elderly, had been in some sort of prison where news never got to you.  Whatever Khameni of Iran's problem is  must be pure denial.  He is in big denial. Just recently he pronounced that "If Shoah did indeed take place, there is no certainty about what happened there."  

What happened there was brutality of Nazis and other anti-Semites who worked as fast as they could to slaughter 6 million Jews.  They gassed them and burned them in furnaces.  They shot groups who fell into already prepared pits.  They had decided that their economic woes were all the Jews' fault and so to deal with that and make themselves richer, they set about to kill a whole people.  To them, six million would have been a good start.  If they hadn't been stopped they would have continued to kill every Jew on the face of the earth.  Canada and the USA would have been the next site to find us.

Jews have been scapegoats for others to blame all the ills of the world on for centuries, ever since they lost their country in 70 CE to the Romans.  They have had to wander and depend on the emotions of the king of a county as to how he was feeling towards Jews at that moment.  Sometimes they asked them into a country to help out with their economic woes, as they were good accountants.  They were smart people.  Then, eventually that got in the way as it caused jealousy within the people of the land and eventually they were exiled.  In Germany's case, Jews had been there since before 1,000 CE and were loyal Germans, industrious people, and the first to be attacked for being "different" from all the other Germans. Being different meant that they weren't Christians.   

One way the Germans kept tract of how many Jews they had was through the use of IBM punch-out cards, made in the good old USA. They started their IBM-Nazi agreement in 1933.   The same type of cards were used in the USA on their Japanese in internment camps during the war, too.  The Germans identified and catalogued Jews in their programs executed in the 1930s to the selections of who lives and who dies in the 1940s.  Eventually everyone died.  They could have used a computer, but they weren't invented yet.  Hitler's identification program was essential for quick and efficient confiscation of their property, clothing, gold in their teeth, etc, and putting them in ghettos for storage, deportation, enslaved labor, and the ovens.  

Records of evidence are in our USA government archives that are public.  The Khameni should fly over sometime and sit down and read some of the evidence. Khameni cheers people who join him in this denial.   

What's frightening is that the USA seems to be basing their policy towards the Islamic republic, Iran, as being  an honest broker.  Why are they taking Iran at its word?  They have been lying to us before, and are lying now.  If it turns out that they truly are lying to us about uranium and their goals, Israel and the USA are heading into an abyss of no return.  An example of lying from Iran is "Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif  who had told ABC's George Stephanopoulos last September that reports that  Khamenei had openly denied the Holocaust were as a result of "bad translation" and were taken "out of context."  Not so.  He knew that's how Khameni thinks.  He's a consummate Holocaust denier since it really goes against Islam as well.  

Surely he has heard of the Nurenburg trials held in Nurenburg, Germany from November 20, 1945 to October 1, 1946, trying 23 leaders of the 3rd Reich of Nazi Germany.  After the atrocities of what the Nazis had practiced in trying to erase a whole people, the Jews, and other victims, they were put on trial and found guilty.  There's even a movie about it, Judgement at Nuremberg which was made in 1961.  This brought out the fact that their crimes were committed in violation of the Law of Nations or the Laws of War.  It was directed by Stanley Kramer and such famous people as Spencer Tracey, Burt Lancaster, Richard Widmark, Maximilian Schell, Werner Klemperer, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, William Shatner and Montgomery Clift were in it.  An earlier version was broadcast as a TV episode of Playhouse 90.  Somebody, send Khamenei a copy of this trial!  

As it turns out, the Arabs put the pressure on the British to not fulfil their obligation to create a Jewish State in Palestine so that the Nazis could capture them all and kill them.  Those trying to enter Palestine in the late 30's and early 40's were turned away by the British who were mandated create the Jewish state and failed miserably. If the USA hadn't stepped into the war, Britain would have been taken by the Nazis.  I find it ironic that two of the judges at Nurenberg were British.   "Geoffrey Lawrence, 3rd Baron Trevethin, 1st Baron Oaksey, DSO, TD, KC, PC (2 December 1880 – 28 August 1971) was the main British Judge during the Nuremberg trials after World War II, and President of the Judicial group." 

 One wonders if he was related to Lawrence of Arabia.  Thomas Edward Lawrence was #2 in a family of 5 illegitimate boys whose father was Sir Thomas Chapman. "an Anglo-Irish landowner, the last of the Chapman baronets of Killua Castle in Ireland."  They all took the surname of Lawrence when the parents, Sarah Lawrence and Thomas Chapman  lived together but didn't marry. Sarah Lawrence had given him the 5 boys.  He had daughters from his 1st marriage who Sarah was governess for.  Unless the judge was related to Sarah's Lawrence family, they were not connected.   

Israel is wary that Khameni is plotting to finish what Hitler started, and that is to exterminate all the Jews now living in Israel with his uranium plans of creating a weapon of some sort, most likely an A bomb.  

Different religions have tried to wipe out Jews.  First it was the Christian Crusaders of Europe starting in 1096 who attacked Jews as well as their target, the Muslims, and then the Spanish Inquisition culminating in 1492, the Holocaust of a Catholic Hitler who was quite irreligious but political from 1933 to 1945, and now the Muslim Arabs since 1948 who will not abide Jews within their circle of the Middle East.  Perhaps it is meant that Jews are to survive.  Our saying is Am Yisrael Chai!  The people of Israel live!  The world would be much better off if those who haven't would  just accept us. Note that not once have Jews been aggressive towards anyone in the world, but have had to be defensive against all the attacks in order to survive.  And survive we have!
