Sudan Seeks Help From Israel Offering A Lovely Carrot On The Stick

 Nadene Goldfoot

Sudan, a country of 51,662,147 population which is 0.63% of the world population while Israel is 0.02%

Israel and Sudan signed a normalization agreement in October, 2020.

  • This agreement is more complicated than the others because Sudan's government is going through a transition with the stated goal of becoming more democratic.

  • There are some difficulties in implementing a normalization agreement, namely that Sudan must first repeal a domestic law that prohibits relations with Israel. Progress has also been slowed by opposition from some groups in Sudan and a precarious transition in the government.  Right now Sudan is involved in war.

The African refugee population in Israel, who caused an uproar, primarily consisted of Sudanese and Eritrean migrants arriving through the Sinai Desert, with early waves coming mainly from Sudan, and later from Eritrea. African immigration to Israel is the international movement to Israel from Africa of people that are not natives or do not possess Israeli citizenship in order to settle or reside there. This phenomenon began in the second half of the 2000s, when a large number of people from Africa entered Israel, mainly through the then-lightly fenced border between Israel and Egypt in the Sinai Peninsula.

According to the data of the Israeli Interior Ministry, 26,635 people arrived illegally in this way by July 2010, and over 55,000 by January 2012. In an attempt to curb the influx, Israel constructed the Egypt–Israel barrier. Since its completion in December 2013, the barrier has almost completely stopped the immigration of Africans into Israel across the Sinai border.

According to the Israeli Police report to the Knesset in March 2012, there was a steady increase in crime among the illegal immigrants from 2007. In 2011, 1,200 criminal cases were opened against illegal immigrants from Africa, half of them in the Tel Aviv district. This was an increase of 54% in comparison to the previous year.

On January 6, 2021, the government of Sudan signed the "Abraham Accords Declaration" in Khartoum. On February 2, 2023, Israel and Sudan announced they had finalized an agreement to normalize relations, with the signing to take place after the establishment of a civilian government in Sudan.  United Arab Emirate shows tension  over his leadership and the Sudanese army more broadly.

According to a report, he conveyed al-Burhan’s desire to complete the normalization process between the two countries and formally sign the Abraham Accords, in exchange for Israeli support in the next phase. Now, Sudan seeks help from Israel for military support.  In return, they will join the Abraham Accords.  Do they realize that Israel is fighting against 7 fronts and is a little busy right now?  They seems to have their hands full, like Sudan.

                                    Abdel Fattah al-Burhan

Al-Sadiq Ismail, envoy of military leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, offers to finalize Abraham Accords and address Iran outreach tensions in exchange with aid in fight against rebel militias.

Sudan was visited by Jews in remote times.  In 1885, the Mahdi compelled all Jews and Christians to embrace Islam, which was a forced conversion if carried out.  The community dated from the end of the 19th century, but few Jews now live there.

A civil war between two major rival factions of the military government of Sudan began during Ramadan on 15 April 2023. The two opponent factions consist of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) under Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its allies (collectively the Janjaweed coalition) under the Janjaweed leader Hemedti.

Minor factions have also participated in the fighting, allying with either major combatant or remaining opposed to both; these include the Darfur Joint Protection Force; the SLM (al-Nur) under Abdul Wahid al-Nur; and the SPLM-N under Abdelaziz al-Hilu. Fighting has been concentrated around the capital city of Khartoum (the largest and initial battle of the war) and the Darfur region.

South Sudan’s political landscape is fragile and recent violence between government troops and armed opposition groups has escalated tensions. Last week, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged regional and international leaders to prevent South Sudan from falling “over the abyss” into another civil war. Guterres warned that the world’s newest and one of its poorest countries is facing “a security emergency” with intensifying clashes and a “political upheaval” culminating with last week’s arrest by the government of First Vice President Riek Machar.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stands with Sudanese Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan, the head of the ruling sovereign council, in Khartoum, Sudan, August 25, 2020. (Sudanese Cabinet via AP) Donald Trump was then president.

Here it is, plain and simple:

 On October 23, 2020, Israel and Sudan agreed to normalize ties;

On January 6, 2021, the government of Sudan signed the "Abraham Accords Declaration" in Khartoum.

The agreement is unratified as of 2024. As part of the agreement, the US removed Sudan from its list of state sponsors of terrorism and gave them a US$1.2 billion loan.

Frankly, I would not take this new offer.  It would be wonderful to have an additional Muslim country belong to the Abraham Accords, but this is not the time to take on more fighting.  Israel has enough, thank you.  Anyway, anyone joining the Accords should be deeply enthusiastic about the whole idea.

I would hope, of joining in peace a Muslim country with the remaining and only Jewish country of Israel who kept a record of their people and their 12 tribes along with their own records in the Torah. It even includes why we split up before the religions were defined with the family spat that became so serious.   UAE has been a good member of the Abraham Accords and has worked well with Israel.

Enemies of Iran and It's Tentacles: Big Satan and Little Satan

 Nadene Goldfoot

We are witnesses to this!  One of the littlest states in the world, Israel, standing up to the most important and one of the largest states in the world to their conditions of appeasement and misplaced trust of others, the United States, and coming out with the most  successful outcomes said  to happen way back in the past few thousand years.

David (Israel) standing up to Biden (USA) on ceasefire conditions

Yet Iran calls us the Little Satan and the United States as the Big Satan.  Israel is roughly the size of the US state of New Jersey. Israel is a small country in the Middle East, covering an area of 8,522 square miles.  The population today is about 9 million with 20% being non-Jews.  That's about the same as New Jersey.

PM Netanyahu explaining in the UN in September 2012, about the danger of Iran's uranium goals to wipe out Israel that the USA had walked out on for lunch engagements, causing UN to ignore.  It's been 12 years since then and we see that Israel is fighting against 7 fronts of Iran's tentacles who are still trying to wipe out this tiny state holding 6 million Jews once again since the time when Hitler tried to do it.

And what's happened since then?  The UN and all the world's country's except the USA have warrants against Netanyahu who is facing their arrests who has been the defender of his country's demise.  This 2nd Ayatollah wants him killed!  It's nonsense in a crazy upside-down world.  The 8 million other Jews in the world are aghast at the events, facing anti-Semitism at the highest level, about as high as it was in 1939 in Germany for many already.

It is amazing that Benjamin Netanyahu, loved, our leader, then hated and cursed, has stood with his internal love for Israel and hasn't given up fighting for it.  When the chips have been down, we've had Bibi standing as our father, our leader, trusting in his religion and his people,, knowing we could pull together and survive.

                                               Iran's leadership, the first Ayatollah

The Israeli prime minister addressed the UN general assembly, urging the international community to halt Iran's nuclear programme. (Reuters)

When a senior Israeli official told Reuters that Binyamin Netanyahu would be drawing a red line on Iran's nuclear program, he was not kidding.

Speaking at the United Nations general assembly in New York in 2012, the Israeli prime minister unfolded a chart with a cartoon-style drawing of a nuclear bomb, and proceeded to draw on it with a red magic-marker.

"This is a bomb," he says. "This is a fuse." The chamber was almost empty when Bibi spoke. I'll never forget the feeling in my stomach when this happened.

Ethiopian Jewish IDF soldier guarding Israel, the in-gathering of Jews has been taking place;  coming from countries attacking their very lives for being Jewish.   The first "legal" group of Ethiopian Jews to enter Israel was in August 1977, when 122 Ethiopians arrived through the "front door". 1979–1983  Aliyah activists and Mossad agents in Sudan called on the Beta Israel to come to Sudan, where they were eventually taken to Israel.  On the 24th of May 1991, a Guinness world record was broken for the most passengers on an aircraft ever. The record was broken during a daring Israeli operation, the evacuation of Ethiopian Jews from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This operation called Operation Solomon continued non-stop for 36 hours and included 34 jumbo jets of the Israeli air force, hundreds of soldiers and the evacuation of 14,200 Jews to their promised land.

Now, this minute, Israel has committed to a cease fire that Biden of USA has put together to be a permanent event.  It is on condition that the Hezbollah terrorists abide by it and show no attempt at starting the fight again under any circumstances, or Israel, who will be monitoring , will react in kind by putting an end to it.

That's been the problem with other cease fires;  nobody has had the spine to prevent the enemies from ignoring the rules and breaking them.

With Israel, this is a life or death situation.  With the UN and other countries, it is a boring tiresome period that interferes with their travel plans.  It doesn't take but a Ho Hum from the world to forget and join the more powerful; but this time they have been defending Iran in the fight against wiping out Israel's existence.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stands with Sudanese Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan, the head of the ruling sovereign council, in Khartoum, Sudan, Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020. Pompeo is the most senior U.S. official to visit the African country since last year’s ouster of its autocratic leader, Omar al-Bashir. Pompeo’s visit Tuesday is meant to discuss the normalization of ties between Sudan and Israel and also show U.S. support for the country’s fragile transition to democracy. (Sudanese Cabinet via AP).  Incidently, Khartoum is the city where the Arabs held their 1967 meeting and coming up with their 3 NO NO NO towards Israel.  What happened?

Our big brother, yes, the United States, is coming through in standing with Israel's right to exist and helped with the cease-fire's acceptance of Bibi's conditions. They have been backing Israel since Harry S. Truman days.   Finally, they understood the situation and used their power before Biden was to leave his seat in January.  He can rest assured that he did the right thing and was on the right side of democracy and morality.

USA Just Emptied Their Embassy in Sudan

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — As foreign governments airlifted hundreds of their diplomats and other citizens to safety, Sudanese desperately sought ways to escape the chaos Monday, fearing that the country’s two rival generals will escalate their all-out battle for power once evacuations are completed.

For Sudan's more than 45 million people, the conflict between Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo is set to deepen an already intense economic and humanitarian crisis.  A bitter rivalry between Sudan’s top two generals erupted into open warfare this weekend, further destabilizing a country that has been at the center of geopolitical power competition from the Middle East, the U.S. and Russia.   It will also further delay a promised transition to civilian rule.

States of Sudan, more like our counties in Oregon, showing well-known Darfur on the SE and Kartoum in central East.

Sudan is huge, about as big as Alaska.  Everyone wants a piece of it, and the USA is at the end of the line these days.  It is Egypt's neighbor to the south, shown as purple.  Thousands are trying to leave the country and are stuck.

Sudan is the 8th largest Muslim populated country with a population in 2011 of 43,939,598. of which 70% were Muslims. Out of them about 104,500 belonged to their military power of active troops.  They are Sunnis.

It has a population of 45.7 million people as of 2022 and occupies 1,886,068 square kilometres (728,215 square miles), making it Africa's third-largest country by area, and the third-largest by area in the Arab League. It was the largest country by area in Africa and the Arab League until the secession of South Sudan in 2011, since which both titles have been held by Algeria. Its capital city is Khartoum and its most populous city is Omdurman (part of the metropolitan area of Khartoum).

The name derives from the Arabic bilād as-sūdān (بلاد السودان), or "The Land of the Blacks". The name is one of various toponyms sharing similar etymologies, in reference to the more or less dark skin of the inhabitants. Prior to this, Sudan was known as Nubia and Ta Nehesi or Ta Seti by Ancient Egyptians named for the Nubian and Medjay archers or Bow men.

NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) — As continued fighting

raises fears that Sudan could plunge deeper into chaos, foreign governments are scrambling to get their diplomats and other citizens safely out.
