Photos from Gaza became 3 IDF's last: Noam, Yaniv, Uri and Ehsan documented before they fell; Capt. Noam Ravid, Maj. Yaniv Kula, Staff Sgt. Uri Bar-Or and Col. Ehsan Daxa were photographed during the height of the fighting in the Gaza Strip, at times only moments before they were killed.
Hamas terrorists announced Monday that after nearly two decades of governing the Gaza Strip, it will dissolve its government and hand over power to a Palestinian technocratic governing authority.
The move is part of the U.S.-brokered peace plan that paved the way for an October 2025 ceasefire between Hamas and Israel which did not hold for long. Israel had accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire deal by withholding the bodies of the remaining 13 deceased hostages thought to have died during or after the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023. Hamas had said the return of the remaining bodies "may take some time" due to the destruction. The militant group has now said it was prepared to hand over governmental responsibilities as part of the deal, but did not pledge to disarm—a key demand of both Israel and the United States.
The way that Hamas has this set up is not acceptable to Israel.
"Israeli politicians dismissed the premise of the transition, arguing that it allows the group to retain power via its military wing.
Comparing the proposed model to Hezbollah’s role in Lebanon, where the Iran-backed militant and political group holds significant power, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar wrote on X that “a technocratic administration would be responsible for garbage collection and other municipal services, while Hamas would remain the dominant military force.”
But “as long as Hamas retains its weapons, any civilian government will of course operate as Hamas dictates,” he said.
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem told Agence France-Presse that relinquishing power was intended to “remove any pretext for the occupation” of Gaza by Israel.
Do they forget that Gaza was part of the land won by Israel in the 1967 War and that Israel gave them the land in the name of peace and had removed all Jews from the area when they handed over the land to them? During the Gaza war, at least 2,039 Israelis have been reported killed. This figure encompasses both military and civilian casualties, but I would think mainly IDF and on October 7, 2023 with 828 deaths of civilians. I haven't forgotten and I wonder if the Trump Administration would even know about that little fact!!!!They all were only about 21 years old in 1967, and I wonder how well they have covered history of Israel in their high school history classes when the teachers were also coaches??? How well did the world learn of this other than some Jewish people besides Israelis???
The move marks the biggest shift in power in the territory since Hamas seized control of Gaza from rival Palestinian movement Fatah in 2007."
