Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Earth's Creation: Both Awesome

 Nadene Goldfoot

Today, we know, according to scientists in the field  from radiometric dating,  that Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, actually 4.543 billion years.   Had naturalists in the 1700s and 1800s known Earth's true age, early ideas about evolution might have been taken more seriously.

Thermal ionization mass spectrometer used in radiometric dating.

Radiometric dating calculates an age in years for geologic materials by measuring the presence of a short-life radioactive element, e.g., carbon-14, or a long-life radioactive element plus its decay product, e.g., potassium-14/argon-40.

That's what we used to think, but now?  The last idea is that we were not on the tree with the chimps.  We had our own, but this does show the bone fossils found and how we came to this idea.  Now, in studying DNA, we know that almost all (99.9%) nucleotide bases are exactly the same in all people;  and 97% are the same as the chimpanzee's.  We cannot mate and produce a child half chimp and half human, even though we may think we've found one in a former mate or acquaintance.

The Neanderthals have a long evolutionary history. The earliest known examples of Neanderthal-like fossils are around 430,000 years old. The best-known Neanderthals lived between about 130,000 and 40,000 years ago, after which all physical evidence of them vanishes.  Then we find Cro Magnon.  The Cro-Magnons were the first modern Homo sapiens in Europe, living there between 45,000 and 10,000 years ago.

Abraham, Sarah and their son, Isaac; yes, she thought she was too old, too.

Abraham lived in the 2nd millennium BCE (before the common era) or about 1948 BCE. which was about  1948+2023=3971 or rounded out-about 4,000 years ago;  well into our modern age.

Think about how science has improved in the past 4,000 years!  How about in the past 100 years from 1923 to 2,023?  Evidently discoveries in science come in leaps and bounds!  Wait till you read to the end of this article and see what is happening!
Moses and the pharaoh, an act in freeing the Israelites;  a first in understanding our past as G-d dictated facts and Moses wrote them down as he received them.  If G-d, in my opinion, told him of this period in time, Moses could not had understood and neither could his people.  What he wrote was what he could understand, especially  the concept of one god at a time of polytheistic religions over all the world.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is taking over the world.  Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision. Actually, it's now a special program on its own that can create things more like a human.   Can it do worse than we have?  We're just about ready to blow the earth up with one too many nuclear bombs, so much so that we're seeing worried other-worldly UFO's in the sky shocking our jet pilots with their presence.

Rabbis studied in German cities like Metz, Worms, Mainz, Speyer, Cologne

As far as that goes, our own rabbis going back over 1,000 years, figured that the world began (Earth) that our calendar started 5, 783 years ago; and then again, the Christian world decided that all started with Jesus of importance so we have the calendar showing this is the year 2,023.  It's hard to wrap our minds around our planet being 4.5 billion years old.  What is a billion?  One billion =1,000,000 thousand (one hundred thousand).

The bible (Torah) starting with Genesis explains the steps involved in starting the creation of Earth.  The subject of creation comes under the topic of Cosmogony and cosmology.  Our book of creation in Hebrew is called Sepher Yetzirah Creed.

There are 2 kinds of creation.  There is a creation of mountains and valleys, of solar systems and brain cells---and there is the creation of the people who give meaning and purpose to the universe they inhabit.  The events of the 6 days when heaven and earth and all their fullness were brought into being  occupy but a small fraction of the Book. Didn't scientists call that the Big Bang Theory?   Rather, the primary emphasis of the Book of Creation is how the Patriarchs fashioned a family into the nation that became the Chosen People.  "With 10 utterances the world was created..." It was not until Abraham that its human heir had come forwards....  that there is but one G-d  that we know,  and led the way.

Philo : an age of trying to understand the world

I don't know about the Greeks, but the Romans who followed were big on bathing.  Then the Dark Ages came about and no one took baths.  We Jews did, often as once a week in the Mikvah, though, not big on soap but to cleanse their soul.  It had to be in clean running water-an outlet to the ocean somehow.

Philosophers led the way of our thinking about the world in the beginning.  Our Jewish beliefs differed from Greek ones so popular.  Philo set out 5 chief articles of faith ever since the time when Judaism came into contact with Greek thought.

The Rambam or Moses ben Maimon (Maimonides (1135-1204)Philosopher, halakhist and medical writer who left Cordova, Spain at age 13 with parents  to escape the Almohade persecutions that came way before the 1492 Spanish inquisition.

Our famous rabbi Maimonides listed 13, and this idea won the greatest popularity.

Hasdai ben Abraham Crescas  Hebrew: חסדאי קרשקש; c. 1340 in Barcelona – 1410/11 in Zaragoza) was a Spanish-Jewish philosopher and a renowned halakhist (teacher of Jewish law).

                        Joseph Albo's Spain in 1400s

Along with Maimonides ("Rambam (1186-1237) "), Gersonides ("Ralbag"-1288-1344)), and Joseph Albo (1380-1435) , he is known as one of the major practitioners of the rationalist approach to Jewish philosophy. Albo condensed the article of our faith into 3 catagories;  existence of G-d, revelation and retribution.  The elements of prayer are the Shema (Hear oh Israel Deut. 6:4) and the Shemmona Esreh which proclaim the unity of G-d and belief in His providence and in resurrection.  So this is how Judaism has come to believe about such things as the beginning of the world.  Now, instead of philosophers, science has been added to the inquisitive minds, and their findings are  awesome.

We do believe that G-d exists and so it was this great power, G-d, a Oneness, called in our writings as "El or Elohim, YHVH (unpronounceable on purpose-the Tetragrammation or Shem ha-Mephorash) which is written 7,000 times in the Bible.  By the 2nd century BCE, the word for G-d  was no longer pronounced except by the High Priest on Yom Kippur but read as "Adonai" (MY Lord).

Family Tree DNA lab in Houston, Texas

Geneticists are heroes of artificial intelligence.  They, such as people like Bryan Sykes, have worked on mitochondrial haplogroups of DNA, and have come up with the fact in 1996 in his paper that Europe was settled by the gene pool of 80% Palaeolithic-hunters and 20% Neolithic-early farmers.   ancestry.  Another scientist, L. Luca Cavalli-Sforza wrote that his data supported this conclusion.

Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza; 25 January 1922 – 31 August 2018) was an Italian geneticist. He was a population geneticist who taught at the University of Parma, the University of Pavia and then at Stanford University.Cavalli-Sforza was among the first to use genetics to track human migration patterns. His blend of anthropology and genetics led to a new field he called genetic geography, in which he followed the spread of genetic variations to track how humans populated the world.

“Luca was one of the first scientists to use genetic information to understand the relationships between different human populations at the level of the DNA,” said Marcus Feldman, PhD, professor of biology at Stanford. “He was always ahead of the game. Luca wasn’t a follower; he was a pioneer in the true sense of the word. If other people were doing it, he didn’t want to touch it.”

Bryan Clifford Sykes was a British geneticist and science writer who was a Fellow of Wolfson College and Emeritus Professor of human genetics at the University of Oxford. Sykes published the first report on retrieving DNA from ancient bone.

Now I see that AI is referring to another Luca.  Around 4 billion years ago there lived a microbe called LUCA — the Last Universal Common Ancestor. There is evidence that it could have lived a somewhat ‘alien’ lifestyle, hidden away deep underground in iron-sulfur rich hydrothermal vents. Anaerobic and autotrophic, it didn’t breath air and made its own food from the dark, metal-rich environment around it. Its metabolism depended upon hydrogen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen, turning them into organic compounds such as ammonia. Most remarkable of all, this little microbe was the beginning of a long lineage that encapsulates all life on Earth.

If we trace the tree of life far enough back in time, we come to find that we’re all related to LUCA. If the war cry for our exploration of Mars is ‘follow the water’, then in the search for LUCA it’s ‘follow the genes’. The study of the genetic tree of life, which reveals the genetic relationships and evolutionary history of organisms, is called phylogenetics. Over the last 20 years our technological ability to fully sequence genomes and build up vast genetic libraries has enabled phylogenetics to truly come of age and has taught us some profound lessons about life’s early history.

They have created astro-biology at NASA and look for life in the universe.

Sir Isaac Newton and the End of Times--Year of 2060

 Nadene Goldfoot

Isaac Newton, the scientist at age 46 in England, born December 25th on one calendar or January 4, 1643 on another;, died March 31, 1727.  dying at 83.  in fact, he's looked upon as the most important scientist we've ever had.

Sir Isaac Newton PRS was an English mathematician, physicist, astronomer, alchemist, theologian, and author, widely recognized as one of the greatest mathematicians and physicists of all time and among the most influential scientists. He was a key figure in the philosophical revolution known as the Enlightenment.  Religiously, he did not believe in the three-some of Catholicism;  the father, the son and the Holy Ghost, though he saw himself as a true Christian.

Newton believed that the doctrine of the Trinity, in which the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost were given equal status, was the result of centuries of corruption of the original Christian message and therefore false. Trinity College's most famous fellow was, in fact, an anti-Trinitarian.

He was the son of Isaac Newton, Sr. and Hannah Ayscough, born  at Woolsthorpe Manor in Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth, a hamlet in the county of Lincolnshire.  He was left in the care of his  maternal grandmother, Margery Ayscough (née Blythe) when he was 3, and he hated that experience and his grandparents.  His mother had remarried being his father had died.  His father, also named Isaac Newton, had died three months before. Born prematurely, Newton was a small child; his mother, Hannah Ayscough reportedly said that he could have fit inside a quart mug.

In Anglo-Jewish history the county of Lincolnshire was important in two eras. First, in the Middle Ages the town of Lincoln had a significant Jewish settlement and was particularly notorious for the long-lived blood-libel and myth of Little Hugh of Lincoln. (1246 – 27 August 1255) Hugh of Lincoln was an English boy whose death in Lincoln was falsely attributed to Jews.

Jews were expulsed from England right after this false accusation in 1290.   Hugh became one of the best known of the blood libel 'saints'; generally children whose deaths were interpreted as Jewish human sacrifices. That shows how little people who are quick to judge against Jews know nothing about them.  Jews do not believe in sacrificing people.  That stopped with Abraham's son, Isaac.  They don't eat the blood of a cow or bull as blood is taboo.  They don't even eat that part of a proper animal where blood was hard to clean away, so they are limited in the kind of animal and it's parts.  it's called the laws of Kashrut  (keeping kosher).

It is believed by some historians that the church authorities of Lincoln steered events in order to establish a profitable flow of pilgrims to the shrine of a martyr and saint. Hugh's death is significant because it was the first time that the Crown gave credence to ritual child murder allegations, through the direct intervention of King Henry III. As a result, in contrast to other English blood libels, the story entered the historical record, medieval literature and in ballads that circulated until the twentieth century.

Dying A bachelor, Isaac the scientist  had divested much of his estate to relatives during his last years, and died intestate. His papers went to John Conduitt and Catherine Barton.

He lived from 1643 to 1727.  Jews were allowed back into England in 1655 when he was already 12 years old.  That must have been acknowledged by as bright a person as he was.  The end of his life dwelled in Jerusalem and the return of Jews at the end of times.

After his death, Newton's hair was examined and found to contain mercury, probably resulting from his alchemical pursuits. Mercury poisoning could explain Newton's eccentricity in late life.  Although it was claimed that he was once engaged, Newton never married. The French writer and philosopher Voltaire, who was in London at the time of Newton's funeral, said that he "was never sensible to any passion, was not subject to the common frailties of mankind, nor had any commerce with women—a circumstance which was assured me by the physician and surgeon who attended him in his last moments". This now-widespread belief that he died a virgin has been commented on by writers as diverse as mathematician Charles Hutton, economist John Maynard Keynes, and physicist Carl Sagan.

Newton had a close friendship with the Swiss mathematician Nicolas Fatio de Duillier, whom he met in London around 1689—some of their correspondence has survived. Their relationship came to an abrupt and unexplained end in 1693, and at the same time Newton suffered a nervous breakdown, which included sending wild accusatory letters to his friends Samuel Pepys and John Locke. His note to the latter included the charge that Locke "endeavoured to embroil me with woemen".

Consuming his interests had to do with the Biblical section of

Daniel in the  Old Testament, and the Book of Revelation in the  New Testament.  Putting  the two together, he came up with a    t formula for discovering the end of the  world,  and it was the

year of 2060.

That's only 38 years from now, and the description of what

could be happening and what is happening in Jerusalem is

the same.  He even prophesized the return of the Jews from

all corners of the world, and that's been happening with the

latest coming from Ukraine.  He also said that the 3rd Temple

would be rebuilt in 2060, the cause of the end of times..

Abraham Yehuda of Palestine had manuscripts of Isaac

Newton and gave them to the Israeli government where they

are now in Israel's National Library in 1936.  .

They didn't give them a close look until the 1980s to 1990s.

In 1936, on what was probably a rainy day in London, Sotheby’s held an auction for those papers. One would think such artifacts would draw a considerable crowd. One might not think, however, that down the street, Christie’s was holding an auction of their own for Impressionist art. In the end, only two people came for Newton’s papers. One of them happened to be the noted economist John Maynard Keynes. The other: a Jewish expert in Middle Eastern affairs named Abraham Shalom Yahuda. The two split the pot: Keynes took the alchemy writings, Yehuda the theology.

Following The Path of the Ark

Nadene Goldfoot

Moses, while on the Exodus, had written during those 40 years, the Law, which he wanted the Israelites to follow for the rest of their days, including all their descendants.  It had to be kept in something secure.  Security sometime before 1291 BCE in  the Middle East called for limited resources.  That was about 3,322 years ago.

A chest was devised, in which the 2 tablets would fit into.  The description of the ark is found in Exod. 25:10-22.  It was made of acacia wood, which was inlaid and covered with gold. There is a tree from Africa called the Acacia nilotica most likely  used.

It was 2.5 cubits in length., which was about the length of a man's forearm, and to us today about 18 inches or 44cm. That means it was 45 inches or 1 yard 9 inches long.  It was 1.5 cubits in breadth or wide, or 27 inches--2 feet 3 inches wide, and 1.5 cubits in height or 2 feet 3 inches in height.

Moses was on the right track about acacia wood.  Because it can capture and store carbon and nitrogen emissions, this is considered eco-friendly.  It’s more durable and harder than most wood.  Registering at 2,300 psi on the Janka scale, acacia is 55% harder than European white oak, 23% harder than hickory, and 90% harder than carbonized bamboo, making it one of the most durable floors on the market. Because of its hardness, acacia wood is an excellent material for building furniture, decor, flooring, and more.

Moses had a molding of gold go around it and 4 gold over-laid wooden staves were placed through 4 rings on its sides.  A cover of gold was placed over it, 2 golden cherubim with outstretched wings screening the ark cover.

The golden cover and cherubim symbolized the place where the Shekhinah or Divine presence dwelt.  The ark itself, containing the 2 tablets of the Law, stood for the Covenant between G-d and His people.

It was said by Moses that G-d  gave detailed instructions for the design and construction of the Ark to ;himself and he in turn relayed the instructions to the Israelites that constructed it, principally Bezalel. It was made at the same time as the tent tabernacle along with all of the many items used therein.

Inside the Holy of Holies with ark on ground.

The sacredness of the ark was such that even the high priest (Aaron at that time) could behold it but once a year and even then, only under a cloud of incense (Lev 16: 1-6).

Leviticus 10 describes the death of Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron, brother of Moses. This occurred on the eighth day of the dedication of the Tabernacle, when Nadab and Abihu each took a censer full of incense and offered before the Lord alien fire, which He had not enjoined upon them (Lev. 10:1). As a consequence of this act, a fire came forth from the Lord and consumed them (Lev. 10:2). However, they were not completely consumed, their bodies remained and had to be removed (Lev. 10:4-5). TB Sanhedrin 52a understands that the fire that came from God only consumed their insides, leaving their body and clothing intact.

Scientifically, their deaths were caused by the Ark functioning as a “Leyden jar,” which acted as a security device for the Ark.  The understanding that the Ark of the Covenant was an electrical device was introduced soon after the invention of the Leyden (or Leiden) jar in 1745. This was a crude battery, the first device made that could store electric charge, and was made of very simple materials.  A few years later, one of the founders of electrical science, Georg Wilhelm Lichtenberg (1743-1799) noted that the structure of the Ark of the Covenant is similar to the Leyden jar.

According to an article that appeared in the March 5th, 1933 edition of the Chicago Daily Tribune, Frederick Rogers, the Dean of the Department of Engineering at the Lewis Institute of Technology, conducted a careful study of the construction of the Ark as described in the Bible, and concluded that its design matched a perfectly constructed simple electric condenser: He Said The Ark Of The Covenant Was A Giant Capacitor.  But the Ark of the Covenant was a much larger condenser….The divine directions called for the creation of two cherubim of pure gold to be placed on a gold slab or "mercy seat" overtop the Ark. These cherubim, Prof. Rogers explained, made up what he believes to have been the positive pole of the circuit.

He explained…that it is known among physicists that a "difference of potential" exists between the earth and the air which may be collected in electrical charges under certain favorable conditions…It was explained that even slight movements of heat rising in smoke—such as from burning sacrifices or even incense—would distribute lesser charges of static electricity….This, Prof. Rogers explained, may have accounted for the collecting of bolts powerful enough to cause death.  (https://gizmodo.com/the-engineer-who-said-the-ark-of-the-covenant-was-a-gia-1598583115)

Know this:  at 2022 prices for a troy ounce of gold, it costs  about $1,851.05 .  I don't think anyone can afford to do an experiment on a model ark to see if it is creating any electricity.  I'm sure Fred Rogers knew what he was talking about.

Fred joined Lewis Institute in 1896 as an Instructor in Math and an Assistant in Physics. He worked there for over 40 years eventually becoming a Professor of Physics and Electrical Engineering and then the Dean-Emeritus of Engineering and finally the Co-Director of Lewis Institute. Rogers retired in 1940 but was brought back by the newly created Illinois Institute of Technology (a combination of Lewis Institute and Armour Institute) to be the Director of their newly created War Training Program. Rogers then retired from that position at the end of WWII in 1945.

The story of Uzzah and the Ark of the Covenant is found in 2 Samuel 6:1-7 and 1 Chronicles 13:9-12. As the ark was being transported, the oxen pulling the cart stumbled, and a man named Uzzah took hold of the ark. God’s anger burned against Uzzah and He struck him down and he died. Uzzah’s punishment does appear to be extreme for what we might consider to be a good deed. However, there are the reasons why God took such severe action.

From the time of Moses until the construction of Solomon's Temple, the ark was taken out from the Holy of Holies in case of national need to lead the people on the journey and help them in battle.  During the period of the 1st Temple, the ark found a permanent place in the Holy of Holies and was never removed.

There is no mention of the ark among the vessels carried away and later returned from Babylon from 597-538 BCE when the Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE.

Talmudic tradition held that it had been hidden "in its place" by King Josiah.

"It vanished. Much of Jewish tradition holds that it disappeared before or while the Babylonians sacked the temple in Jerusalem in 586 B.C".

But through the centuries, Ethiopian Christians have claimed that the ark rests in a chapel in the small town of Aksum, in their country's northern highlands. It arrived nearly 3,000 years ago, they say, and has been guarded by a succession of virgin monks who, once anointed, are forbidden to set foot outside the chapel grounds until they die.

Tudor Parfitt-The British version of Indiana Jones, born in Wales--British historian, writer, broadcaster, traveller and adventurer. He specialises in the study of Jewish communities around the world, particularly in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Some of these communities have been recognized only since the late 20th century as having ancient Jewish origins.

Parfitt is emeritus professor of modern Jewish studies in the University of London at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), where he was the founding director of the Centre for Jewish Studies.

This doesn't look like acacia wood to me.

Tudor Parfitt thought he found the ark in southern Africa with the Lemba Tribe, but it doesn't look like the bible's description at all, even after over 3,000 years.

Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark

The miraculous qualities of the ark and the incidents connected with it inspired many poetical utterances in the Talmud and Midrash.

Today, it inspired the movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark and such people as Vendyl Jones, a Texan whose life is so much like the imaginary Indiana Jones in his quest for the ark.  He even went to Israel and learned Hebrew, helped the IDF, worked on the Caves of Qumran in Jordan that held the Copper Scroll, waiting for the translation in hoping to find what happened to the ark.  He died at age 80 in 2010, but had been interviewed by Gerard Robins in Houston, Texas, who wrote a lengthy article in UFO magazine about him and his finds.

Ronald Eldon Wyatt (June 2, 1933 – August 4, 1999) was an American adventurer noted for

advocating the Durupınar site in Turkey as the location of Noah's Ark's landing place, along with almost 100 other alleged biblically-related discoveries.  Ron Wyatt’s 1982 discovery of the Ark of the Covenant has sadly been a topic littered with skepticism and nay-sayers throughout the years — even amongst fellow Believers! He banks his theory on the book,  Lives of the Prophets.

A doubtful Irish tradition maintains that the Ark is buried under the Hill of Tara in Ireland. Some scholars believe that this is the source of the Irish “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow” legend. It  is a hill and ancient ceremonial and burial site near Skryne in County Meath, Ireland. Tradition identifies the hill as the inauguration place and seat of the High Kings of Ireland; it also appears in Irish mythology.

Even less believable are the claims of Ron Wyatt and Tom Crotser, Wyatt claiming to actually have seen the lost Ark of the Covenant buried under Mt. Calvary and Crotser claiming to have seen it on Mt. Pisgah near Mt. Nebo. Both of these men are held in low esteem by the archaeological community, and neither has been able to substantiate the wild claims with any evidence.

Could it be that the battery of the ark's makeup finally died after over 3,000 years?  It could no longer protect itself with its electrical charge, so strong that it killed?  As I think about it, Moses could not have known by himself, 3,000 years till the Leyden jar would be invented,  what he was creating with the tools he used, unless all Egyptians knew this scientific law, and they never did any such creation that we have heard about.  Truly, G-d was in Moses's creative mind, guiding him along in his acts.  HaShem was part of Moses's creative thinking process."  And that's my belief.
