Is the Two-State Solution A Solution or a Stall for A Take-Over

                   Palestinian rock throwers on Temple Mount-way before Jerusalem Day 2021

Many arm-chair authorities think that there will be peace when there is are 2 states established, with the Palestinians using East Jerusalem as their capital, which is part of the capital of Israel.  I saw some of the rocks they were throwing over Jerusalem Day.  They were huge like big bricks.  

Has anyone noticed that Israeli Arabs are fighting and trying to kill Israelis on the Temple Mount? Do you think this makes Israelis comfortable with Palestine becoming a state in what was part of their allotted land?  It's been dangerous enough as it has been.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that over 300 Palestinians were wounded during clashes between Palestinians and police near Al-Aqsa Mosque and elsewhere in the Old City Monday morning. According to the Red Crescent, 205 people were hospitalized, and seven were said to be in serious condition. Police said at least 21 officers were wounded.  

Israeli police entered the Temple Mount compound on Monday morning. They said they sought to quell a violent Palestinian riot that included stone-throwing. Palestinians had reportedly stored stones and other weapons in the sanctuary, expecting to attack right-wing religious visitors celebrating Jerusalem Day. But police decided to block Jews from entering the Mount.

The flashpoint area, the holiest place for Jews as the site of the biblical temples and site of the third holiest shrine in Islam, has been at the center of repeated clashes this week, and the broader East Jerusalem area has seen violent nights for the past few weeks. Demonstrators have been protesting over tensions surrounding the Mount as well as the pending eviction of Palestinians from East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, to be replaced by right-wing Israeli nationalists. The Palestinians live in houses built on land that courts have ruled were owned by Jewish religious associations before the establishment of Israel 1948.

In Ramallah, senior officials condemned the “storming of Al-Aqsa” by Israeli police and vowed that they would consider “all options” in response.

To quell the riot and attacks going on, the security forces were called in an 

offense which the Palestinians have twisted into calling it an attack. The 

clashes took place on Jerusalem Day, which celebrates Israel’s unification 

of Jerusalem with the capture of East Jerusalem and the Old City from 

Jordan in the 1967 war, and religious nationalists hold parades and other 

celebrations in the city.

Police entered the Temple Mount compound in the morning after thousands of Palestinians gathered in the compound overnight. According to police, dozens of rioters attacked a police post and started hurling rocks from the Temple Mount toward a road south of the compound, blocking the road but causing no injuries or damage.

That prompted police to enter the Temple Mount area. Officers were attacked and responded with stun grenades, police said.

Young Palestinian men ages 18 and older do not serve in Israel's IDF unless they really want to.  Other Muslim groups do and prefer to do so, being as nationalist as Jews about Israel.  These young Palestinian men cannot fight like the Hamas Palestinians, so now they fight against the Jews of Israel while Hamas is also doing so.  Would this be a matter found in sociology where they want to be a part of a fighting group?  Enjoy the comradery?  There are rewards in Israel as having served in the IDF is good for one's resume.  There is no Palestinian family group encouraging their sons to serve in the IDF;  quite the opposite happens.  It certainly does not happen in Gaza nor the West Bank, I'm afraid.  

The Hamas covenant can be read:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas_Covenant  It  advocates "liberation of all of Palestine". The new document also states that the group doesn't seek war with the Jewish people but only against Zionism which it holds responsible for "occupation of Palestine". Mashal also stated that Hamas was ending its association with the Muslim Brotherhood.

We don't have to read the covenant to see how they feel about Israel with the huge attack of over 1500 rockets and missile as of this morning, something that must have been planned for a long time for Jerusalem Day.  

Do they think that such an attack will hurry the process of having their Palestine and all the trimmings that come with statehood now?  Is  might over right the new rule?  Isn't that how the Nazi's logic ran?

Portland, Oregon's Shavuot Becoming a Kristallnacht of 1938

 This riot was "set off by Germans' anger over the assassination of a German official in Paris at the hands of a Jewish teenager.
Glass from shop windows were all broken and looting took over, similar to what
happened last night in our Portland's Kristallnacht.
One difference was that Jews were killed.  I haven't heard of any
deaths except what triggered this, George Floyd's death.

How Ironic this event that turned into a destructive riot
happened on our Jewish holiday of Shavuot, a time of remembering
the laws of Moses handed down to us.  

On our first night of Shavuot, the Jewish holiday of celebrating the receiving of the Torah (5 books of Moses), we had a pogrom in our beautiful city of Portland happening right downtown, and the ones again who were the target were the shopkeepers, though their religion was not the issue like what happened on November 9, 1938 when a most horrible of all riot happened when Jews were killed and their whole world was destroyed besides their shops.

and the people had no time yet to learn about the kosher law pertaining to eating meat; so the people
had milk products that night.  
We remember this night and our next with the eating of
cheese cake and cheese blintzes, etc besides being
in the synagogue on this illustrious night of Shabbat,
a double mitzva; Shabbat falling on Shavuot.  

What gets into people who act like Nazis with no moral instinct but the need to destroy?  This riot in Portland was born from another Black person being killed by the policeman who was holding him down when he begged for his life.  It's been happening too often, and the Black population has had enough.

I thought, "What a dumb thing to do for this policeman.  Doesn't he know what a sensitive issue this is involving so many of the Black Americans?  Would he treat my son like this?  Hasn't he gone through intense training to be careful with life?   What gets into someone engaged in a hold-down?  I have gone through such training myself and didn't experience any feelings but possible fear for myself while doing it with my peer partner.  I'm a female, so it might be different for men.   

Of course it was a gestapo type of act of the part of the policeman.  But is this act repulsed by the tendencies of the police or army when they are met with a challenge, the need to use what they have been trained to do?  It doesn't soften their feelings for those they are preventing from breaking laws.  More likely it hardens their hearts as well when they are engaged with rioters breaking all the laws including theft.  

The German Kristallnacht, "the "Night of Broken Glass," for the shattered glass from the store windows that littered the streets, was instigated by the German government, and lasted 2 days of rioting where the destruction was of the whole city.  250 synagogues were burned and over 7,000 business were broken into.  Glass covered the streets everywhere, like Portland was attacked last night.

Jewish cemeteries were vandalized as well as hospitals, schools and homes of the Jewish people.  All this went on with the police and fire department just watching and doing nothing to stop it.   They were in on the destruction and hatred of the Jewish people, and for why, the old anti-Semitic feelings against Jews that has been going on ever since the first century and even before.  

It gives me the shivers that such an act as this can happen with such intensity 82 years after the German Kristallnacht which was the beginning of the Holocaust.  It has hurt all the good people who have worked hard to be successful and keep afloat during our  world-wide pandemic where all over businesses have had to close down in order to get rid of a life-killing virus running rampant throughout the world.  This this is how rebels treat the city, killing the way of people making a living for themselves who follow laws and are doing their part to help preserve life.  They are now experiencing a double whammy!  Coronavirus and a pogrom!  

This rioting and stealing will not be forgotten.  Does it help the cause of having better relations between Blacks and Police?  No, I don't think so.  More training may be in the works but that doesn't mend the hearts and minds of those dealing with rioters.  

Like Portland's Mayor stated, "How does this honor  George Floyd?"

Sharia Law Riots in USA

Yesterday, riots were going on because people are rebelling against Sharia Law, which are the laws of Islam,  and others are either for it or think that the people are rioting against Islam.  This was happening in Seattle, Washington, Minneapolis, Minnesota, New York City, New York,  Dallas,Texas,  Atlanta, Georgia and other USA cities.   In Seattle, a comment was ""We are not anti-Muslim. We are anti-radical Islam," by a March Against Sharia speaker outside City Hall, according to the station."  

Here are some facts possibly neither group is aware of about Islam.

22% of the world's population are Muslims.  This amounts to about 1.5 billion people..  The Pew Research Center found 50 Muslim majority countries in the world in 2015.

More than 1/2 of European Muslims live mostly in France, Germany, Italy, Russia and the United Kingdom.   They amount to 28,071,000 Muslims.   Other European countries with at least 5% of their population being made up by Muslims are living in  Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, and Switzerland.

As an example of percentages, Jews make up 2% of the USA population and Blacks make up about 11% of the USA population.   Jews are 0.02% of the world population with a total population of about 15 million compared to Islam's 22% which makes up 1.5 billion.

Muslims in the USA as found in 2015 by the Pew Research Center  make up 1% of the population with a total of 3.3 million.  The USA's population is 322 million.

The 10 countries containing the highest Muslim populations are:

•  Pakistan 178,097,000 (96%)
•  India 172,000,000 (14%) (2016)
•  Bangladesh 145,312,000 (90%)

Sharia Law is described thusly:

Sharia law regulates public behavior, private behavior, and even private beliefs. Of all legal systems in the world today, Sharia law is the most intrusive and restrictive, especially against women.

                                                           

Italy wants the Muslim women to show a little of their face and not be completely veiled.  "Like Britain, Italy does not specifically restrict the wearing of the veil, but it has in the past had laws against covering your face in public for security reasons. France, however, has a law banning “conspicuous symbols” of faith such as Muslim headscarves, Jewish skullcaps and large Christian crosses, from schools. Prodi has angered the centre-right opposition, led by former premier Silvio Berlusconi, with an immigration policy that proposes to halve an application period for Italian citizenship to five years, in exchange for observation of Italian laws."  

                                                                

The less extreme and more fashionable look for Muslim women,
but it depends on the country one lives in.  This might be acceptable
in Pakistan but not in Iraq.  It would be more common in India
which is only 14% Muslim as it is a Sari.  

Sharia Law Examples pertaining to women are:

 A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.
• A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.
• Girls' clitoris should be cut (Muhammad's words, Book 41, Kitab Al-Adab, Hadith 5251).
• A woman can have 1 husband, who can have up to 4 wives; Muhammad can have more.
• A man can beat his wife for insubordination (see Religion of Peace).
• A man can unilaterally divorce his wife; a woman needs her husband's consent to divorce.
• A divorced wife loses custody of all children over 6 years of age or when they exceed it.

• Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.
• A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).
• A woman's testimony in court, allowed in property cases, carries ½ the weight of a man's.
• A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits (see Errors in Quran).
• A woman cannot drive a car, as it leads to fitnah (upheaval).
• A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.

This is the USA, not a Muslim majority country.  We have laws against such laws as Sharia law.  When a person becomes a citizen, they have always had to swear allegiance to this country and forego their former country's rules.  

The USA has established the rule of Freedom of Religion.  As long as you are not pressing anyone to convert to your particular religion, you are okay.  There is a fear going on of being forced into Sharia Law or even allowing it to happen to Muslims living in the USA because it is unAmerican.  

Egypt's military blocked the Muslim Brotherhood's efforts in this direction in 2013,  but 74% of Egypt's Muslims still favor it. Even in Jordan, Indonesia and Malaysia - Muslim countries with progressive images, it's preferred.  That's because " the relatively secular ruling elite sit atop Muslim masses, 71%, 72% and 86% respectively of whom want their countries to be ruled by Sharia."  So it's also a political issue.  These elites don't want to lose their positions.  

As the Muslim populations have grown in Europe, "the number of countries penetrated by Sharia law continues to grow."  This is why we are seeing a push against Sharia Law in the USA.  Many people do not want to see it established here.  The penalty of breaking a Sharia Law often is death.

FARHUD POGROM in Iraq During Holidays-Hanukkah -Jews Without Weapons

Jews remember that horrid night in Germany where rioting went on from November 9th to the 10th in 1938 which was later called "the Night of Broken Glass", Krystallnacht.
                                                                       

Almost all the synagogues in Germany were attacked and destroyed.  Jews where arrested in wholesale numbers, and then the government took the imposition on the Jewish community of a confiscatory levy, which ended pretty much the hope of maintaining an organized Jewish life there.  Even emigration was limited by the outbreak of WWII in September 1939.                                                                                  

 By September 1941, Jews had to wear the "Jewish Badge" which was highly enforced.

Two days on Shavuot on June 1 and June 2 1941, the Jewish festival marking the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai which occurs seven weeks after Passover, Nazi sympathizers in Iraq had their own form of a Krystallnacht upon their Jewish population, for the Arabs had become brothers to the Nazis in philosophy.  It was called the Farhud, which means a breakdown of law and order so that life and property are in peril..

Jews had lived in Iraq (Babylonia) and mainly in the city of Baghdad for over 2,400 years since the time of the first Temple of Solomon's destruction  in 597 and 586 BCE when Nebuchadnezzar attacked and took prisoners.   By the time Islam was created, the Muslims had treated the Jews with more tolerance than the Christians had treated Jews who migrated to Europe.  From time to time there had been occurrences, but nothing like what happened to the Baghdadi Jews who bore the brunt of the Farhud. in 1941.  Active in Muslim groups responsible for the Farhud was Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini, who was the instigator for riots on Jews in Jerusalem.

                                          Jews did not have any weapons. 

 The Arabs came and killed everyone, making mass graves.  The graveside was the size of a house.  The Arabs cut open the stomachs of pregnant women and raped en masse.  If a woman left her house without an abaya (Islamic face covering) they would not be shy and would rape her.  They killed an entire family, a woman, her fiance and his brother.  The information came from a witness who was the neighbor   to all this.  Then the Arabs  cut off the leg of a child and played with the amputated leg."1

Slaughter was not the only commandment they broke during the Farhud.  They stole food such as cheese and jams.  They took clothing from women's closets.  Every bit of belongings they found they took.  Then they burned down the houses and filled up homes with water from the sewers so that they couldn't even live in the burned remains.  The witness had a neighbor who prevented her house from being burned.  Arabs broke the sewers and caused flooding in her home, anyway.  Finally the British came who closed off the sewers and helped to clear out water.  

Is Islam really the religion of peace?  The behavior of these Iraqi Arabs topped the evil from the Nazis during Kristalnacht!  Maybe to Muslims, they think they are peaceful, but riled up in a riot, and they lose all humane control!!  Why did they suddenly become unglued and attack Jews?  Only because their new friends, the Nazis had done this.

  Hanukkah was celebrated in a big way in Iraq, it being a prominent holiday, more so than in Israel or the USA.  People knew how to party.  After the Farhud, Jews still, but with great trepidation, celebrated their favorite holiday.  It was still a time when parents gave children presents, though.                                                                    

They started by lighting their big silver community menorah, 

                                                                           

and then their own, for everyone had a menorah.  Then great food came out.  They served zimgula, something like baklava, lefet which is something like beets but white, not red, which was cooked in wine; potato cooba, a fried dish with potatoes on the outside and meat on the inside; sambusak which is made with potatoes inside that is similar to the Indian dish, Samosa.
                                                                         

Everything served was something sweet and arranged on a large table.

For the 1st night, 50 people came to Salima Shachouda's home.  They did the blessings together and sang songs.  People liked to marry during Hanukkah and of course there were special parties just for the brides where sweets, oranges and other delicacies were served.  The celebrating big-time ended when this Mizrachi community made aliyah to Israel, unfortunately.  I hope they bring it back.  It sounded wonderful.  In the meantime, they should go to the Temple Mount where they light a huge Menorah and have lots of Chanukah treats there.
