Who Are Israel's Greatest USA Presidential Friends?

 Nadene Goldfoot

Going to war was the U.S. president’s decision, for which he alone is responsible.  Nobody can tell Trump to do something he doesn't want to do.

There is the Problem With the Idea That Netanyahu Made Trump Attack Iran floating around in the US.  So they blame higher gas prices and food prices on Israel now.  Jews have been blamed for every bad thing that has ever happened;  especially the Arabs.  I know that Syrians blamed even bad weather on Jews.  Well, indirectly, maybe I can say that it's the way Jews have been treated that brings on the bad things,  you know, Karma !  (Thank you, India for that one.)  All I believe is that something is watching up high.  Something knows who's good and who's bad and it isn't just Santa Claus.  (Thank you American children).  G-d knows.  Broad antisemitic tropes and theories regarding Jewish influence on war are significant:

  • Global Views on War Responsibility: A 2025 Anti-Defamation League (ADL) poll found that 40% of people under age 35 and 29% of those over 50 worldwide believe "Jews are responsible for most of the world's wars".
  • Manipulation Tropes: Approximately one-third of Americans at least "somewhat agree" with the trope that Israeli operatives manipulate U.S. national policy.
  • Antisemitic Tropes in the U.S.: As of 2024, nearly 24% of the U.S. population agrees with six or more traditional anti-Jewish tropes, an increase from 20% in 2022.  So that's during  October 7, 2023;  blaming the victim.
Truman was the first to recognize Israel as a state; here with Weisman, and he was adamant about doing so.  His surrounding friends were against it.  Here he is with Chaim Weizmann.  Israel will be 78 years old on May 14, 2026.  It's called Yom Ha' atzmaut in Hebrew.
  •
                             Truman and David Ben Gurion
    David Ben-Gurion (born October 16, 1886, Płońsk, Poland, Russian Empire [now in Poland]—died December 1, 1973, Tel Aviv–Yafo, Israel) was a Zionist statesman and political leader, the first prime minister (1948–53, 1955–63) and defense minister (1948–53;
  • 1955–63) of Israel. It was Ben-Gurion who, on May 14, 1948, at Tel Aviv, delivered Israel’s declaration of independence. His charismatic personality won him the adoration of the masses, and, after his retirement from the government and, later, from the Knesset (the Israeli house of representatives), he was revered as the “Father of the Nation.”
  • Is there a problem in that Trump and Netanyahu have become friends as well as making their country's a friend?  It seems that way.  My goodness, it's true that Trump is the second real friend out of the 50 Presidents of the 50 states.  Trump has gone that extra mile that the others didn't.  However, 3 other U.S. presidents have been close allies of Israel, with Lyndon B. Johnson, George W. Bush, and Richard Nixon frequently cited as strong supporters alongside Truman and Trump. These leaders strengthened strategic, military, and diplomatic ties, with LBJ often regarded as the most emotionally committed, supporting Israel during the 1967 war

  •  By the way, Jews happen to live in the states as well as having returned to their native land they have re-named Israel.  It's interesting that Jews make up only 2%  of the USA, yet many people  distrust them.  Where do they get such ideas?
Israel has been at war with Iran at least since 1967.  Every day they have had the knowledge hanging over their heads that their neighbors cannot bear a Jewish state among the Muslims surrounding them.  Trump led the motion of the Abrahamic Accords in which 4 countries now belong including the USA and Israel, of course.
This is likely the oldest photo Dusky ever posted. It's from 1855, and it shows a group of Jewish laborers in Kerem Avraham, a neighborhood in Jerusalem.
These Jews belonged to what is called the Old Yishuv, those Jews who were already living in the Land of Israel before the First Aliyah, which began in 1882.

Here's a photo of agricultural workers in Ein Ganim in 1923. Ein Ganim was a moshav established in 1908. It was later absorbed into the city of Petah Tikva and is today a neighborhood there.
Photo credit: Oded Yarkoni Petah Tikva Archive

Yet Jews had ventured back in the 1880's and even earlier to their native land of Judah, then called Palestine with the Ottoman Empire at the head of it and all the others surrounding it.  It had become unbearable in Russia and those surrounding states creating Pogroms for Jews to live, always being 2nd class people used to vent all their problems on, then...as now, taking it out on them physically.  Jews started to return after being  chased out in 70 CE by the Roman attack that contained threats of not to return or face death.

Why are the Jews always blamed for everything--the scapegoat of the world?  It started in the Greek days and have never stopped with Hellenism.  Christianity picked it up and added polish and spit.  This new religion did not help any Jews even though  Jesus was said to be Jewish.  As they saw it in those days, reason enough to kill Jews.

It's taken over 2,000 years for people of this age to accept Jews, and now they have created anti-Semitism again even as bad as Germany had it before WWII.   In this new land of United States which is only 250 years old to finally accept Jews and secure them as 1st class citizens in 2026 is the greatest blessing  for our USA celebration.  It's been a struggle, but this land has been unique in many ways.  Thanks,  oh young USA.

Maddening Sunday Morning With CNN News

 Nadene Goldfoot

I started off the morning listing to a discussion about Trump's Tariff program and how he should have done what he did with them.  It turned into a debate between two of those at the table which developed into a shouting match.  The others got a big kick out of it.  One thing, we as the viewer,  can't understand one word said in a shouting match, so I had nothing to laugh at.  I'd say that this half hour was a comedy of errors.

Fareed Zakaria is someone I look forward to listening to.  Usually I'm in disagreement with him but not this time.  He was discussing the Armada of ships waiting, waiting and what was Trump deciding to do with them.Politics.  Trump warns Iran an ‘armada’ is heading its way and to agree a nuclear deal, or else.

             Iranians Rebelling in a Revolution

He went through a list of reasons why others told Trump not to attack.  His guest verified these facts telling more and who and why Trump shouldn't attack;  too  much wasted money, Arab countries that didn't want it to take place like Saudi Arabia and UAE, and then Fareed, still unsatisfied, brought in by the discussion a far away person with a long long surname, I take to be an Iranian newsperson, who gave more particulars on the discussion.

TEHRAN, IRAN - JANUARY 8: Fires are lit as protesters rally on January 8, 2026 in Tehran, Iran. Demonstrations have been ongoing since December, triggered by soaring inflation and the collapse of the rial, and have expanded into broader demands for political change. (Photo by Anonymous/Getty Images)

NOT ONE PERSON MENTIONED THE IRANIAN DISSONANTS WHO ARE IN THE REVOLUTION AND HAVE DIED ALREADY FOR THE CAUSE WHICH TO MY KNOWLEDGE HAVE BEEN COUNTED NOW FAR MORE THEN THE ORIGINAL 40,000, RISING TO 80,000 AND POSSIBLY BY NOW 120,000 DEATHS.

Has Fareed forgotten that Trump helped to start all this by claiming that IF THE AYATOLLAH'S GOVERNMENT STARTING KILLING THEM, HE WOULD COME TO HELP?  Trump has been encouraging unrest in Iran and recently said, "HELP IS ON ITS WAY," as the death toll reportedly surpassed 2,000.  Now it could be 120,000.

Then the ships sat in the water like now, only they did nothing but sit.  Thus more and more were killed.  The killers even went into hospitals and killed those there who had been in the streets demonstrating by being a part of the crowd and were injured.

These demonstrators are for Jerusalem Day in Samaria

I remember when Israel was recently faced with demonstrators in the streets.  They demonstrated.  Period.

The Ayatollah of Iran had their Revolutionary Guards-a deadly group, shoot the demonstrators to kill.  They did it, but I hear that since then, it has bothered them to kill their own family members in the streets and have decided to go over to the demonstrators side.  Those still demonstrating see this time as I do, a window of opportunity with the Crown Prince directing them from the USA successfully, knowing they will probably be killed but for a good reason;  to free their beloved country from this madness.

Mahyar Tousi is a political YouTuber running the UK’s most watched online news show. Born in Iran, he came to this country as a child following his mother’s escape from the Iranian regime that resulted in her becoming a political refugee in Britain. I watch it too, on youtube.

Revolution's flag showing the old flag with lion in the middle.

I know that from this that I have viewed on tousi.tv; watching what our major stations dare not enter to film, will continue and more will be killed.  The USA will never know the pain they are under nor have been under for the past 40 plus years in the first place and what they are enduring now.  Of all the impulsive acts lately of Trump;  buying Greenland, taking  over Venezuela, buying Canada, buying Denmark, HELPING THE IRANIAN YOUTH WHO ARE REBELLING AND HAVING A REVOLUTION IN THEIR COUNTRY TO TAKE IT BACK FROM THE AYATOLLAH'S WAYS was the only sane idea he has had and hasn't fulfilled.

                      Harry S. Truman in 1946

Trump,  when it was decided to back Israel to become a state in 1948, President Truman went against his staff of nay-sayers, telling him all sorts of reasons why he shouldn't, but he did!  He knew only his partner in his haberdashery store was a Jewish man, and they had a great rapport.  That is the greatest gift that Truman could give to the USA as far as I and others are concerned.  Because of Truman, Israel was born.

Americans getting news;  opinions come from cell phones

There are probably 80% of the people of the USA that think differently and wish it hadn't happened, but they do not understand.  I say that things happen for a reason, and someday, they or their descendants will understand.  It was for a good reason;  saving lives.  I could take on several articles full of reasons why and the the good this brought out that benefited the USA, oh in so many ways.  Maybe it will be like that, too for Iran.  Good things will happen in the world if Iran has a Democratic government.

I had to turn off the TV at 7:30am, so if they suddenly thought of the people, I missed it.  I hope they ended on a good note.

Trump's Mar-a-Lago Finished Ballroom Compared to White House Unfinished Ballroom

 Nadene Goldfoot

                                                   The Trump Gilded Ballroom

At US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likely assumed that he was at the front of his host’s mind, or at least the issues he had come to discuss were: Gaza, Iran, Lebanon and a pardon. Mar-a-Lago ballroom is elegant.

By all accounts, the two leaders enjoyed a friendly and productive meeting, and also spent New Year’s Eve together at the resort’s black tie ball.

The East Wing of the White House was demolished in late 2025 to build a large ballroom, a project initiated by President Trump, sparking controversy and lawsuits from preservationists who argued it lacked proper federal review and congressional approval.  Demolition began in October 2025, with the structure largely gone by late 2025.

The new, expansive ballroom, intended for large events is still in the air, not replacing the historic East Wing, which had served as offices for the First Lady and her staff, a visitor entrance, and housed the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden.

The full East Wing of the White House is being torn down to make way for President Trump's new ballroom, contradicting his pledge that the project would not interfere with the existing U.S. landmark.  1/19]25 The demolition of the East Wing of the White House, the location of President Trump's proposed ballroom, is seen from an elevated position on the North side of the White House, October 23. The Wing was demolished, leaving the walls open to the public. It is to be paid for by: Claims by the administration to be privately funded, with major corporations and individuals donating.  No money showing up;  no building going on.  Controversy: Preservation groups sued, alleging violations of federal laws requiring environmental and design reviews, and congressional authorization for such significant changes to a historic site.  Historical Context: While controversial, additions and changes to the White House campus, including the East Wing itself (built in the 1940s), have occurred throughout history.

                  Nope, not like this?

There wasn't a "demolition crew" for the entire East Wing; rather, construction firm Clark Construction led recent work under the Trump administration (Oct. 2025) to renovate/rebuild parts of it, particularly for a new ballroom, working with McCrery Architects, following plans that involved removing existing structures and adding new. Finishing the East Wing into a new, larger ballroom at the White House involves a projected cost of around $300 million, funded by private donors, with demolition of the existing East Wing occurring to build a 90,000 sq ft structure for large events. The project, championed by President Trump, is the most significant physical change to the White House in decades, sparking controversy despite assurances of no taxpayer expense, according to news reports from late 2025.

Truman and Churchill at Blair House

The East Wing's core structure has seen major internal gutting during the Truman renovation (1948-1952) and additions in 1902 and 1942. From 1948 to 1952, the entire White House, including the East Wing's structure, underwent President Harry Truman's massive "gut renovation" to address severe structural issues, involving dismantling the interiors, preserving only outer walls, and rebuilding with modern steel and concrete, making it safe but also drawing criticism for losing historic interiors, notes NPR. Structural Collapse Fear: The aging structure was declared unsafe, with floors sinking, requiring the Trumans to move to Blair House for years.

Harry S. Truman was President from April 12, 1945 to January 20, 1953, a total of 8 years or 2 terms.

The Trouble With On-The-Job News Reporting

 Nadene Goldfoot

Christiane   Amanpour was born in the West London suburb of Ealing on January 12, 1958, the daughter of Mohammad Taghi Amanpour (Iranian) and Anne Patricia Hill (British). Her father was Shia Muslim and her mother Roman Catholic.  Christiane Maria Heideh Amanpouris a British-Iranian journalist and television host. Amanpour is the Chief International Anchor for CNN and host of CNN International's nightly interview program Amanpour, CNN's The Amanpour Hour on Saturdays and Amanpour & Company on PBS. She also hosts Christiane Amanpour Presents The Ex-Files with her ex-husband James Rubin on Global.

There's negativity to report about on-the-job news reporting such as Christiane Amanpour spoke about this morning when talking about a newscast experience she had in Bosnia.  She just reported about what she saw.  Christiane Amanpour's reporting on the Bosnian War (1992–1995) was pivotal in bringing the conflict's atrocities to a global audience. Her work as CNN's chief international correspondent from the besieged city of Sarajevo helped shape public perception and triggered a debate over journalistic objectivity during genocide.

  • Amanpour reported on the brutal shelling of Sarajevo by the Bosnian Serb army and the suffering of civilians trapped by the siege.

This morning she included what she observed (only) in Gaza withIsraelis not allowing reporters inside Gaza. This has become a bigcomplaint.

What if the following happened and reporters simply reported what they saw.  How would they have reported the act?  Wouldthe why part of the act be included if they didn't bother to findout?

The U.S. dropped the world's first atomic bomb, codenamed "Little Boy," on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, a U.S.

B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, carried out the bombing. A second bomb, "Fat Man," was dropped on Nagasaki three days later, resulting in Japan's surrender and the end of World War II.

Estimates of Japanese deaths from the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki vary, but it is generally accepted that the bombings resulted in at least 200,000 to 250,000 deaths, with a range of specific figures like 140,000 for Hiroshima and 74,000 for Nagasaki cited by the BBC, and official records suggesting 66,000-150,000 deaths. The exact death toll is impossible to determine due to extensive destruction, the confusion of wartime records, and ongoing deaths from radiation-related illnesses over the following weeks, months, and decades.

If Christiane only saw this happening, she would have had a scalding report about the USA, not knowing what prompted the USA to do such an outlandish thing !

The primary reason for the U.S. dropping atomic bombs on Japan was to force a swift surrender, thereby avoiding a costly U.S. invasion that was anticipated to result in hundreds of thousands of American and Japanese casualties.

Other contributing factors included a desire to demonstrate the bomb's power to Japan and potentially to the Soviet Union, to secure U.S. post-war dominance, and to use the bombs before the Soviets could enter the war against Japan..That's AI's reasoning.

The primary reason President Harry Truman used the atomic bomb on Japan was to force a swift and unconditional surrender, avoiding a costly ground invasion. The American military feared that an invasion of the Japanese mainland would result in a massive loss of life for both American and Japanese soldiers and civilians. It could be that they had no idea of the power of one of these bombsand didn't expect the loss of life by dropping one.

  • Avoiding a deadly invasion: Military planners had developed Operation Downfall, a large-scale invasion of Japan. Estimates for American casualties ranged from 100,000 to over a million, with millions more Japanese military and civilian deaths expected. The recent bloody battles on Iwo Jima and Okinawa, where Japanese soldiers fought to the last man, demonstrated the high cost of each island conquest.
  • Saving lives: Truman believed that an unconditional surrender, brought about by the atomic bomb, would ultimately save lives by preventing the prolonged bloodshed of a conventional land invasion. As he later wrote, his "object is to save as many American lives as possible".
  • Swift end to the war: Four years of intense, worldwide conflict had exhausted the American public. An end to the fighting was a national priority, and the atomic bomb offered a way to achieve a final victory as quickly as possible.
  • Japan's refusal to surrender: By mid-1945, Japan's military position was hopeless. However, many Japanese leaders were still determined to fight to the death and resisted calls for unconditional surrender, even after repeated conventional bombings devastated their cities. The bombs were intended to demonstrate a new level of destructive power that would break this resolve.
  • Incidently, President Truman learned about the Manhattan Project and the atomic bomb immediately after becoming president on April 12, 1945, through briefings by the Secretary of War and the project's general. He was informed that the bomb was incredibly powerful, capable of causing massive destruction and civilian casualties, but he believed it was a necessary tool to end the war and save Allied lives. While some scientists suggested a demonstration, Truman's advisors recommended using the bomb, and he agreed to drop it on Japanese cities to force surrender and end the conflict.
  • This sounds so familiar with Hamas who won't surrender butkeep on fighting by hiding behind their own people, shootingthem if they try to leave the area, steal their food from trucksbrought in, hide in hospitals;; even wanting to die as martyrs forrewards in a future life.
  • Journalistic appointments: Journalists have reported that when the Gaza war began, newsroom leadership often assigned the story to a specific reporter, often a white male with little regional expertise. In some cases, reporters with Palestinian, Arab, or Muslim heritage were reportedly perceived as biased and sidelined.  Al Jazeera is an example.
  • Official interference: Some outlets have been accused of allowing external entities to influence their reporting. It was reported that CNN journalists covering the conflict must submit their work for review by the network's Jerusalem bureau and that some of the Israeli military's conditions for international journalists on the ground included pre-broadcast reviews. This response must have led to deciding to keep out reportersperiod if they couldn't understand what had been going on.
  • Christiane Amanpour did not produce a specific documentary report on President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb in Japan. However, her program Amanpour and Company and other CNN broadcasts have covered the topic in depth, especially around the 80th anniversary of the bombings in August 2025.
