A Glimpse Into October 7, 2023 For The Brave

 Nadene Goldfoot

Arbel Yehoud Kidnapping In Oct 7, 2023 Horror, from David Harris on facebook and Wikipedia

You and I can't imagine really what the Israelis endured on October 7th, already almost 3 years ago.  Israel did a 180 in so many areas!!!The following is about Arbel Yehoud, a survivor of the most gruesome experience a person ever had to endure.  Born 21 June 1995) now 31,  is an Israeli woman who was abducted from Nir Oz during the October 7 attacks when she was 28. Yehoud was held in captivity for 482 days by Palestinian Islamic Jihad until she was released as part of the January 2025 Gaza war ceasefire. She was the last living female Israeli hostage to be freed.

Keep reading. She was a woman who had served or was serving

her country by being in the IDF.  Many women belong.

This is a true story that needs to be shared with everyone. 🇮🇱🫡
During her 482 days of captivity in Gaza, Hamas terrorists sexually abused her almost every day.
They broke her ribs and starved her.
While held hostage in Gaza, she attempted suicide three times simply because she was Jewish.
Arbel says, "I tried to take my own life three times. I felt I couldn't go on. There were moments when I felt it was the only way out."
This is the harrowing experience of Arbel Yehud, an Israeli woman who was held hostage.
She is truly an extraordinarily brave woman. After surviving 482 days of hell, she asked how long it would take before she could fight again.

She, along with a few others, were released 30th of January 2025. Their release, which CNN and AP News described as "chaotic", took place at the ruins of the house of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, and the hostages were led through a crowd of thousands before being transferred to the Red Cross.

As a result, Israel delayed the release of 110 Palestinian detainees until guarantees were made that such a release ceremony would not be held again.
"I want to fight for Israel. I want to repay my debt to Israel.

Danny Danon Speaks With Dr. Phil About Hamas

Nadene Goldfoot

What happens when the world’s watching and judging… your every move? So far, 25 countries are judging Israel with their thumbs down.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, sits down with Dr. Phil to break down Israel’s war objectives, the moral tightrope of civilian protection, and the global firestorm of criticism. From accusations of genocide to the rise of antisemitism on college campuses, Danon doesn’t hold back. He shares what it takes to lead under pressure, why media narratives matter, and how international aid can fuel the very terror it’s meant to stop.

This is the map presented to the Jews after Britain's Letter; plans for the Jewish Homeland.  This included Judea and Samaria, original homeland of Jews from Bible days of Moses leading the Israelites back to their homeland. Palestine, coined after 135 CE, was the name given by the angry Romans because Bar Kokhba held Jerusalem for 3 years for the Israelites.  It had been referring to Judah, changed in Latin to Judaea from 70 CE's Roman attack.

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, speaks with Dr. Phil about the war within the war–the battle against misinformation about Israel that is spreading throughout the world.

Dr. Phil as a psychologist:

In the past few days, Israelis in the Gaza envelope have experienced the deadliest attack in the country’s history and the deadliest attack in Jewish history since the Holocaust.

Rescue teams led by Zaka — the Israeli non-profit dedicated to responding to mass casualty incidents — have uncovered evidence of brutal attacks on civilians.

The unconscionable attack on Israeli civilians by Hamas gunmen on October 7 was marked by murder, rape, torture, and kidnapping. Women, the elderly, and even little babies were targeted. On the bloodiest day in the country’s 75-year history, an estimated 1300 were killed, over 3300 wounded and approximately 150 Israelis were taken hostage. Karys Rhea, a fellow with the Jewish Leadership Project stated, “. . . This is the greatest loss of Jewish life in a single day since the Holocaust.”

The Hamas invaders were not soldiers; they were assassins. This was not an act of war. It was a well-thought-out, well-financed massacre of Jewish civilians. The Hamas charter calls for the ultimate annihilation of all Israeli Jews, followed by the annihilation of Jews around the world. Sound familiar?

Sadly, some people, including some right here in America, actually celebrated the slaughter and blamed those being murdered, raped and kidnapped. The reason WHY would be very difficult to explain, certainly to the mother of a reportedly beheaded innocent baby. It would be especially difficult to explain why many of America’s most respected, elite universities are not only indulging, but actually endorsing sanctioned student organizations holding celebrations for the murder of her baby, friends and neighbors and those who massacred them.

Yet that is sadly what many of our top colleges and universities are doing concerning the attack on Israel. Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, UCLA and Stanford are high-profile examples who have reacted to the October 7 attack in a manner that should raise concern, if not outrage. For years, too many of these schools have allowed pure hate-based groups to exist on campus, creating real fear among fellow students, especially Jewish students due to anti-Semitic intimidation.

These student organizations’ reaction to the Hamas attack on Israeli Jews was so appalling that it put the institution’s policies and standards on full transparent display and revealed a disturbing degree of ivy-covered “intellectual rot.”  Americans nationwide have been appalled and shocked.

The leadership of these supposedly highly sophisticated schools are so busy “virtue signaling” and coddling students who think that words are violence, but violence—horrific, inhuman violence—is social justice, that they have forgotten it is their job to teach their students to think and to test reality. Instead of training tomorrow’s leaders, these “great” learning centers are instead profoundly demagnetizing our culture’s moral compass among the college population.

A population for whom there is largely no longer a “true north,” no clarity of right and wrong.

Senator Cory Booker commented on Tuesday that there was a time we took pride in calling out bad behavior and bad actors, calling evil – evil and hatred-hatred. Martin Luther King, Jr. said we suffer not just from the vitriol and violence of our enemies but from “the appalling silence and inaction of the good people!” This is a critical moment in time, a critical opportunity to stand up, step up and speak up against evil and not be appallingly silent.

I am no expert in geopolitics. But I don’t need to be to immediately denounce the actions of Hamas as utterly sick, twisted, disgusting and inexcusable.

Staying fully in my lane of analyzing human behavior, I will amplify some things I know for sure:

I know for sure the atrocities and ensuing celebrations committed by Hamas are inexcusable and unjustifiable. Murdering, raping and torturing civilians, is just plain sick. I don’t care how much someone feels victimized, no matter how right or “anointed” they feel; the kind of brutality we witnessed is wrong on every level. These are not the acts of honorable soldiers, freedom fighters, or militants; these are the acts of out of control, misguided monsters.

From a psychological standpoint, I can’t help but wonder what these assassins say to themselves, alone, in the middle of the night after burning or beheading a terrified and defenseless little baby boy or girl, whichever evil act they may have perpetrated.

Have they bothered to think about how many of their own children they have destined to be sacrificed in the retaliation that is certain to follow. Retaliation they have brought down on the Gazans/Palestinians (62% of Gazans supported maintaining a cease-fire? 50% believe Hamas should stop calling for the destruction of Israel and accept a permanent two-state proposal.)

I know for sure that allowing the university-sanctioned student organizations to celebrate the sadistic acts of terror without consequence confirms these “enlightened/woke” universities are failing miserably in shaping, educating, maturing the minds of those students. Even if you hold the student solely accountable for choosing their positions, evidence suggests university faculty are not challenging the students’ thinking, instead hiding behind first Amendment arguments. Ironic since the Ivy league schools have abysmal records on free speech!

We can’t control a terror group like Hamas doing such a thing as this, but we can control how we respond. It is here in the United States that the universities are failing miserably. Instead of hiding behind a weak free speech argument, it is the educator’s job to teach critical thinking that will lead to a rational response. Critical thinking is an essential mindset for combating violence, intolerance and wrong-headed conclusions, a skill set in short supply in today’s world.

A Ballistic Missile War : A Very Dangerous Moment During Hanukkah 2024

 Nadene Goldfoot

Israel has had to face 10,000 Hamas fighters in Gaza

Hamas fighters breached the Gaza–Israel barrier, attacking military bases and massacring civilians in 21 communities, including Be'eri, Kfar Aza, Nir Oz, Netiv Haasara, and Alumim. According to an IDF report that revised the estimate on the number of attackers, 6,000 Gazans breached the border in 119 locations into Israel, including 3,800 from the "elite Nukhba forces" and 2,200 civilians and other militants. Additionally, the IDF report estimated 1,000 Gazans fired rockets from the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of participants on Hamas's side to 7,000.  from Wikipedia on October 7th 2023 Hamas led attack

On October 7, 2023, Israel was attacked by Hamas and several other Palestinian militant groups, on their last day of a Jewish holiday, Succot and Simchat Torah, in the goriest, bloodiest, most disgusting slaughter man has ever created along the border towns in Israel of Gaza.  Hundreds of dancers were slaughtered outright and a few hundred were taken as hostages, who faced being slaughtered  later. Those remaining are unknown and still held as hostages by this date of 12/24/2024.  The attackers were launched, coordinated and armed incursions from the Gaza Strip into the Gaza Envelope of southern Israel.  This was the 1st invasion of Israeli territory since the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, nastily held on a Jewish holiday celebrating life.  I don't think the outside world will ever understand the meaning of all this;  the horror!  We've heard it was 3 years in the planning, and then carried out on trusting young people who saw some of the attackers as people who had been in their own homes working for their parents, now high on the glee of bloodying the Jews.

Hassan Nasrallah, secretary general of Hezbollah (31 Aug 1960-27 Sept 2024 of Lebanon; died at age 64: Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah declared in 2021 that the group had 100,000 fighters (100 thousand) .  Israel's population in 2023 was  9,757 million.

Under Nasrallah's leadership, Hezbollah acquired rockets with a longer range, which allowed them to strike at northern Israel.   On 3 August 2006, Hassan Nasrallah vowed to strike Tel Aviv in retaliation for Israel's bombardment of Lebanon's capital. "If you hit Beirut, the Islamic resistance will hit Tel Aviv and is able to do that with God's help," Nasrallah said in a televised address. He added that Hezbollah forces were inflicting heavy casualties on Israeli ground troops.

Iranian media reported that Tehran used a new missile, the Fattah-1,

in  attacks on Israel. Tehran describes the Fattah-1 as a “hypersonic”

missile – meaning it travels at Mach 5, or five times the speed of

sound (about 3,800 miles per hour, 6,100 kilometers per hour).

But analysts point out that almost all ballistic missiles reach

hypersonic speed during their flights, especially as they dive towards

 their targets. (updated)

Hezbollah is reportedly now focusing on "internal reorganization" and rebuilding its political and organizational structure after losing dozens of prominent military, political and administrative figures during the war. It is also investigating the pager explosions and deciding where to bury Nasrallah.

Hanukkah menorah on coins found in digs in Israel 12/23/24

Hanukkah begins tomorrow night. For 8 days and nights we kindle lights and celebrate the miracles of the oil, the military victory of the Maccabees over the Hellenist Syrian empire and the victory of Judaism over Hellenism. After the tragedy and horrors of October 7, the nation of Israel seemed to be in existential danger, facing off against a powerful axis of evil led by Iran, tens of thousands of Hamas terrorists to the south and over 150k Hezbollah missiles and tens of thousands of experienced terrorist soldiers capable of destroying large parts of the country to the north. Today, thanks to the sacrifice of hundreds of soldiers who paid the ultimate price and hundreds of thousands others who fought, and continue to fight, Hamas stands in ruins, Hezbollah has been severely degraded and push back from our borders, Syria's military capabilities has been destroyed and Syria is no longer a base for Iranian soldiers and weaponry, and Iran has been crippled and its axis rendered impotent. Our hostages remain in captivity, but we hope that current negotiations will succeed in releasing them very soon.

                                     Potato latkas fried in oil

On this Hanukkah, as we look at where we stand today as opposed to where we were 14 months ago, we can be thankful for the miracles that have brought us to this day, pay tribute to the many who gave their lives to ensure our safety, and pray for the immediate release of all of our hostages, for comfort to the widows and orphans of our brave soldiers, and for true and lasting peace.

May we all merit to see miracles in our own lives, for the nation of Israel and for the entire world. Happy Hanukkah!

To Remember:  A 14-month-long conflict between the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah and Israel began on 8 October 2023, when Hezbollah launched rockets and artillery at Israeli positions following the 7 October Hamas-led attack on Israel.

On 8 October 2023, a day after Hamas launched its 7 October 2023 attacks on Israel and Israel began its bombing of Gaza, Hezbollah joined the conflict in "solidarity with the Palestinians", initially firing on Israeli military outposts in Shebaa Farms and the Golan Heights — both territories under Israel.

Since then, Hezbollah and Israel have been involved in cross-border military exchanges that have displaced entire communities in Israel and Lebanon, with significant damage to buildings and land along the border.

USA mock 5 missile: traveling more than 5 X the speed of sound...How did Iran get such missiles?  From Who?  To confront, it's like hitting a bullet with a bullet, they say.

It's grown into an intercontinental missile war from Iran to Israel, where Iran brags about their missiles going at mock 5 speed, reaching Israel in 11 minutes; which means more like mock 6 speed.  These missiles each are huge, as big as a bus, and when hit scatter the pieces on the ground in large sections, doing the job of injuring anyone under these pieces.  Tel Aviv has already been a target.

From 7 October 2023 to 20 September 2024, there were 10,200 cross border attacks, of which Israel launched 8,300. Over 96,000 people in Israel and over 111,000 in Lebanon have been displaced during this period. Israel and Hezbollah have maintained their attacks at a level that causes harm without escalating into a full-scale war.

On 6 April 2023, in response to the 2023 Al-Aqsa clashes, dozens of rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel, injuring three Israeli civilians. The Israel Defense Forces said that it intercepted 25 rockets fired from Lebanon, which it said were fired by Palestinian factions Hamas and PIJ with Hezbollah's approval.

The attacks were the largest escalation between the two countries since the 2006 Lebanon War. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) described the situation as "extremely serious" and urged restraint.

On April 13, 2024, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with the Popular Mobilization Forces, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, launched attacks on Israel and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Iran named it as Operation True Promise (in Persian: وعده صادق;"va'de-ye sadeq").  That was an attack by Iran's IRGC and 3 of its assistants attacking Israel.

It was the first direct military clash between Iran and Israel in their ongoing conflict. Iran's envoy to the United Nations stated on April 14 that the attacks can be thought as "finished". The United States, United Kingdom, and Jordan helped Israel by using their air forces to intercept Iranian missiles. One person was injured by part of a missile, and 31 others suffered minor injuries. Israeli Forces claimed they intercepted most of the Iranian projectiles.

Ismail Haniyeh was Hamas's overall leader until the group confirmed his death in Tehran, Iran in July.

On 15 July, the IDF fired warning shots and used riot dispersal munitions on 18 people, including journalists and parliamentarians that crossed the border from Lebanon and walked 80 meters into Israeli-occupied territory.

Israel  hit the Hezbollah Headquarters located in Beirut, Lebanon on September 27th, 2024. The biggest blast to hit the Lebanese capital in the past year appeared likely to push the escalating conflict closer to full-fledged war. This attack is also because Israel got Ismael Haniyeh, their leader, the Lebanese reported.   At least two people were killed and dozens were wounded, Lebanon's health ministry said.  Israeli army spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the strikes targeted the main Hezbollah headquarters, saying it was  located underground beneath residential buildings.

This past week, Tel Aviv has been hit by Yemen's missiles, supplied by Iran, no  doubt.

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired another ballistic missile at Israel early Tuesday morning, triggering sirens across the center of the country as well as in southern Israel, for the third time in less than a week. The Israel Defense Forces said it managed to intercept the missile before it entered Israeli airspace.  According to a military source, the projectile was shot down using the long-range Arrow air defense system, which is designed to take out ballistic missiles outside of the atmosphere.
