Arabs In American Politics: No Endorsement For Harris Or Trump and Why

 Nadene Goldfoot

Hezbollah of Lebanon, ready to follow Iran's wishes

Hamas in Gaza who have ruled this piece of land since they had their first election instigated by Obama. They are the terrorists, the arm of Fatah, through Arafat.

The Arab American Political Action Committee announced that it will not endorse Kamala Harris or Donald Trump for president because of their support for the "criminal" Israeli government and because, "Both candidates have endorsed genocide in Gaza and war in Lebanon."

Just what do they think that Hamas and Hezbollah have been doing to Israel?  Making friends?  They are terror organizations that have been backed and financed by Iran, whose intentions are also theirs.

Their line this Michigan-based group was unwilling to choose between-- “the lesser of two evils” who have both “endorsed genocide in Gaza and war in Lebanon, ” is exactly what their leaders are doing to Israel, trying to destroy the country for their take-over.  It's the method I have noticed that they use; turning around what's said about them that they are truly doing and blaming Israel for doing it to them.  Do they simply forget who has started the confrontation?

Michigan has a large Arab American population, and is home to the largest Arab American population density in the United States:  In 2020, 310,087 Michigan residents had Middle Eastern or North African ancestry, which is 3.1% of the state's population. The three core counties of Detroit have at least 205,000 Arabic speakers. This is about 13% of all Arabic speakers in the United States. Dearborn, Michigan became the first Arab-majority city in the United States in 2023, with about 55% of the city's residents identifying as having Middle Eastern or North African ancestry. The Detroit metropolitan area has one of the largest concentrations of people of Middle Eastern origin in the United States. Dearborn's Arab community includes Lebanese people who immigrated for auto industry jobs in the 1920s, as well as more recent immigrants from Yemen and Iraq.

In the United States, a political action committee (PAC) is a tax-exempt 527 organization that pools campaign contributions from members and donates those funds to campaigns for or against candidates, ballot initiatives, or legislation.

Hezbollah  was founded in 1982 by Lebanese clerics in response to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. Inspired by the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's model of Islamic governance, Hezbollah established strong ties with Iran.

HAMAS emerged in 1987 during the first Palestinian uprising, or intifada, as an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestinian branch. HAMAS has been the de facto governing body in the Gaza Strip since 2007, when it ousted the Palestinian Authority  (PA) from power.

The Palestinian Authority  is the Fatah-controlled government body that exercises partial civil control over the Palestinian enclaves in the Israeli-occupied West Bank (original Judea and Samaria-part of the original 12 tribes of Jacob) as a consequence of the 1993–1995 Oslo Accords.

The Oslo Accords were a pivotal milestone in Israeli-Palestinian relations, aimed at propelling the peace process forward and providing for the expansion of Palestinian self-rule throughout most of the West Bank.

                                       Yitzhak Rabin, PM
                             Abbas at UN

On September 13, 1993, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Negotiator Mahmoud Abbas signed a Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government Arrangements, commonly referred to as the “Oslo Accord,” at the White House.

                      Arafat of the PLO

Israel accepted the PLO as the representative of the Palestinians, and the PLO renounced terrorism and recognized Israel’s right to exist in peace.

Both sides agreed that a Palestinian Authority (PA) would be established and assume governing responsibilities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over a five-year period.

Then, permanent status talks on the issues of borders, refugees, and Jerusalem would be held.

While President Bill Clinton’s administration played a limited role in bringing the Oslo Accord into being, it would invest vast amounts of time and resources in order to help Israel and the Palestinians implement the agreement.

By the time Clinton left office, however, the peace process had run aground, and a new round of Israeli-Palestinian violence had begun.

We see here how individual Arabs might be feeling about the 2 candidates, so the question is, how do we Jews plan to vote?  We only make up 2% of the US population at best.  The percentage of Arab Americans in the United States is estimated to be between 0.639% and 3.8% of the population, depending on the source:

Fighting BDS For 20 Years and How It All Started

 Nadene Goldfoot

President William J. Clinton, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat on July 25, 2000. Ehud Barak is an Israeli general and politician who served as the tenth Prime Minister from 1999 to 2001. He was leader of the Labor Party until January 2011. Labor is a leftist Political party.  Netanyahu is from the Likud party, from the right.

Chairman Arafat used America as a platform to promote the dividing of Israel, and President Clinton warmly received him in March 1997.  Clinton had no horse in this race, so he had no emotional feelings upon hearing Arafat dream on. What happened to Clinton's Arkansas then was it was hit by tornadoes, and the nation was ravaged by storms and floods soon thereafter. The New York Times on March 4, 1997 front- page headlines reported, "In storm's wake, grief and shock" adjacent to a photo of Clinton with Arafat saying, "President Clinton rebukes Israel."

Ehud Barak, General The team fighting Black September in 1972 was led by Ehud Barak, the joint-highest decorated officer in Israeli history who has had an extraordinary career that took him from special forces commander to IDF chief of staff and later prime minister. He was also part of the team trying to talk about peace to Arafat.

What is BDS?  The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement is a Palestinian-led movement promoting boycotts, divestments and sanctions against Israel. They intend to put Israel out of business without the typical war, which they then invest in as Intifadas.  Not only businesses are hit upon, but universities are as well.

Between 11 and 24 July,2000,  under the auspices of President Clinton, Prime Minister Barak and Chairman Arafat met at Camp David in an effort to reach an agreement on permanent status. While they were not able to bridge the gaps and reach an agreement, their negotiations were unprecedented in both scope and detail. Building on the progress achieved at Camp David, the two leaders agreed on the following principles to guide their negotiations:

  1. The two sides agreed that the aim of their negotiations is to put an end to decades of conflict and achieve a just and lasting peace.
  2. The two sides commit themselves to continue their efforts to conclude an agreement on all permanent status issues as soon as possible.
  3. Both sides agree that negotiations based on UN Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 are the only way to achieve such an agreement and they undertake to create an environment for negotiations free from pressure, intimidation and threats of violence.
  4. The two sides understand the importance of avoiding unilateral actions that prejudge the outcome of negotiations and that their differences will be resolved only by good faith negotiations.
  5. Both sides agree that the United States remains a vital partner in the search for peace and will continue to consult closely with President Clinton and Secretary Albright in the period ahead.

Accordingly, these 5 statements were reached at a final conclusion of the meeting.  On 11 July, the Camp David 2000 Summit convened, although the Palestinians considered the summit premature. They even saw it as a trap. The summit ended on 25 July, without an agreement being reached. At its conclusion, a Trilateral Statement was issued defining the agreed principles to guide future negotiations.  The negotiations were based on an all-or-nothing approach, such that "nothing was considered agreed and binding until everything was agreed." The proposals were, for the most part, verbal. As no agreement was reached and there is no official written record of the proposals, some ambiguity remains over details of the positions of the parties on specific issues.

One big unsolved issue was the Palestinian right of return, since Israel has the right of return for Jews.  Due to the first Arab-Israeli war, a significant number of Palestinian Arabs fled or were expelled from their homes inside what is now Israel. These refugees numbered approximately 711,000 to 725,000 at the time. Today, they and their descendants number about four million, comprising about half the Palestinian people. Since that time, the Palestinians have demanded full implementation of the right of return, meaning that each refugee would be granted the option of returning to his or her home, with property restored, and receive compensation. Israelis asserted that allowing a right of return to Israel proper, rather than to the newly created Palestinian state, would mean an influx of Palestinians that would fundamentally alter the demographics of Israel, jeopardizing Israel's Jewish character and its existence as a whole. What has happened to Lebanon would be worse for Israel.  There would be no more Jews in the Jewish State.

There happens to be at least 48 states that are of Muslim Majority; of which about 24 are in the Middle East.  There is only one Jewish country in the world, Israel.  The Palestinians were not native to the soil; they came in to get jobs from the Jews.  The Jews had been natives to the soil since the ancient biblical days as well as a population who never left. This is why the Jewish leaders created Israel, as a refuge for Jews, homeless since 70 CE when Rome burned down Jerusalem and the 2nd Temple.  Jews have been treated as a pariah in every country.  It's taken 2,000 years of patiently waiting for this time to regain their own land once again.  The land means everything; part of their historical creation as Jews.  They were told to live there by G-d!

At Camp David, the Palestinians maintained their traditional demand that the right of return be implemented. They demanded that Israel recognize the right of all refugees who so wished to settle in Israel, but to address Israel's demographic concerns, they promised that the right of return would be implemented via a mechanism agreed upon by both sides, which would try to channel a majority of refugees away from the option of returning to Israel. According to U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, some of the Palestinian negotiators were willing to privately discuss a limit on the number of refugees who would be allowed to return to Israel. Palestinians who chose to return to Israel would do so gradually, with Israel absorbing 150,000 refugees every year.

The Israeli negotiators denied that Israel was responsible for the refugee problem, and were concerned that any right of return would pose a threat to Israel's Jewish character. In the Israeli proposal, a maximum of 100,000 refugees would be allowed to return to Israel on the basis of humanitarian considerations or family reunification. All other people classified as Palestinian refugees would be settled in their present place of inhabitance, the Palestinian state, or third-party countries. Israel would help fund their resettlement and absorption. An international fund of $30 billion would be set up, which Israel would help contribute to, along with other countries, that would register claims for compensation of property lost by Palestinian refugees and make payments within the limits of its resources.  (Because Arafat didn't get his own way totally, which he should have known would be turned down, he lost the chance to have his own state.  Jewish leaders didn't get their Jewish Homeland as first promised either.  They had to sit back and see 80% of it go to Jordan and then what is left is supposed to cut in half now for the Palestinians?) Heaven help us!

The BDS Movement against Israel grew out of the UN's World Conference against Racism in Durban, South Africa on August 31-September 8, 2001, which turned into a notorious hate-fest against Jews and their State of Israel. Two delegations, the United States and Israel, withdrew from the conference over objections to a draft document equating Zionism with racism. The final Declaration and Programme of Action did not contain the text that the U.S. and Israel had objected to, that text having been voted out by delegates in the days after the U.S. and Israel withdrew.

BDS was conceived one year after Prime Minister Ehud Barak of Israel at that time, had offered  historic concessions to PLO head Yasser Arafat. This happened in 2000 at the Camp David Summit.   Arafat shockingly turned down his over-generous offer and launched the 2nd intifada-a brutal uprising that included suicide bombings and other attacks against Israeli civilians.  Marked on September 29, the day after Yom Kippur, this 2nd Intifada took place during a period that somewhat resembles the days of the exploding buses. The current terrible stretch, too, is characterized by a general malaise, great personal concerns and questions about when everything will be over. (This was written in October 2020).

The prevailing narrative is that whenever Israel withdraws from land, either unilaterally or as part of an agreement, the territory evacuated becomes a launching pad for more attacks (the West Bank cities under Oslo, the withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the Gaza pullout).

The goal of the BDS movement, funded largely by European governments through a variety of participating NGOs, is to enfranchise Palestinians by turning their oppressors into a global pariah.  BDS activists hold Israel alone responsible for the lack of peace between Israelis and Palestinians and seek to coerce the Jewish state into making more and more unilateral and unreciprocated concessions through an unrelenting global campaign of political, economic and cultural isolation.  (By supporting BDS, one is cheering on the destruction of Israel.)

What is disgusting is that a myriad of perennial human-rights violators do not face any meaningful protests, much less a global boycott which Israel has been facing for 20 years, and why?  Because a group of Arabs, calling themselves Palestinians, as if the Jews of Palestine before 1948 were called something else-like Jews-happened to also be called Palestinians, wanted to take over all of Israel and Israel wasn't letting them.  They were trying to take the land away from the Jews without actually going to an official war as they needed the help of other surrounding Muslim countries.  The UN has continually picked on Israel wrongly for the accusations the Palestinians throw at them, as wild as they are from the truth.   Burma, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Libya,

                                North Korea's Kim Jong un

North Korea and Sudan are at the top of the global list for countries that are among the worst abusers of human rights, but you'd never know it at the UN.

Clinton blamed Arafat after the failure of the talks, stating, "I regret that in 2000 Arafat missed the opportunity to bring that nation into being and pray for the day when the dreams of the Palestinian people for a state and a better life will be realized in a just and lasting peace." The failure to come to an agreement was widely attributed to Yasser Arafat,as he walked away from the table without making a concrete counter-offer and because Arafat did little to quell the series of Palestinian riots that began shortly after the summit.  Arafat was also accused of scuttling the talks by Nabil Amr, a former minister in the Palestinian Authority. In My Life, Clinton wrote that Arafat once complimented Clinton by telling him, "You are a great man." Clinton responded, "I am not a great man. I am a failure, and you made me one."

In 2001 Robert Malley (Robert Malley (born 1963) is an American lawyer, political scientist and specialist in conflict resolution whose father, Simon Malley, was an Egyptian-born Jewish journalist who grew up in Egypt and worked as a foreign correspondent for Al Gomhuria.), present at the summit, noted three "myths" that had arisen regarding the failure of the negotiations. Those were "Camp David was an ideal test of Mr. Arafat's intentions", "Israel's offer met most if not all of the Palestinians' legitimate aspirations", and "The Palestinians made no concession of their own" and wrote that "If peace is to be achieved, the parties cannot afford to tolerate the growing acceptance of these myths as reality."

Jews rounded up in Lithuania ...living there since 1321;  wearing the Jewish badge in 1566; WWI-100,000 Jews expelled or emigrated to the Russian interior;  received national autonomy in 1918;25,000 deported by Russians from Lithuania and Latvia in July 1940;  remaining Jews massacred by Germans and Lithuanians by 1943.. Holocaust

What gets me riled up is that Jews have not been given human rights in this world since 70 CE.  Life was bad in Europe where Jews were not given citizen status but looked upon as something much less;  and life was much better in the Middle East for them even though they were 2nd class Dhimmis-2nd class and were forced to pay and pay and pay more for their lives, (Although dhimmis were allowed to perform their religious rituals, they were obliged to do so in a manner not conspicuous to Muslims. Loud prayers were forbidden, as were the ringing of church bells and the blowing of the shofar. They were also not allowed to build or repair churches without Muslim consent.) until Israel was created.   The one thing Jews decided to do was not to treat others like this; for it was one of the Jews who wrote the Golden Rule-don't do to others that which you don't want to have happen to you... , taken from the Torah.  Israel has tried every which way to treat Palestinians fairly.  And what do they get?  From a people conditioned to kill when they hear the word, Jew?  Burning kites to destroy Jewish fields; rocks thrown at their heads to kill;  tunnels to leap out and kidnap civilians; and a few ready to live in peace but can't out of fear of their own leaders.  And then the world's most religious citizens, the Methodists, Presbyterians and Episcopalians,  join their BDS movement to force Israel to disband.

kite fires in Jewish wheat fields

One thing I understand;  Palestinians are not interested yet in peace with Israel.  They keep passing up great opportunities.  Maybe the Abrahamic Accords with other Muslim countries will help them to see the light.

The Last Palestinian Refusal of Offers From Arafat To Clinton

 Nadene Goldfoot

Prime Minister of Israel Barak, USA President Clinton, PA's Arafat    Barak was born February 12, 1942 (Abraham Lincoln's birthday).

In 2000, PA Chairman Arafat rebuffed President Clinton's most generous offer and initiated a harsh intifada against Israel in his refusal.  Israel's Prime Minister Barak, hoping to end the protracted conflict with the Arabs, accepted the offer despite the fact that it would have forced Israel to make extremely painful concessions.  Clinton had offered, at least in his own mind,  a viable contiguous Palestinian state plan and the resolution of the refugees problem as well.

The Palestinian negotiators indicated they wanted full Palestinian sovereignty over the entire West Bank and the Gaza Strip, although they would consider a one-to-one land swap with Israel. Their historic position was that Palestinians had already made a territorial compromise with Israel by accepting Israel's right to 78% of "historic Palestine", and accepting their state on the remaining 22% of such land. This consensus was expressed by Faisal Husseini when he remarked:'There can be no compromise on the compromise'.  They maintained that Resolution 242 calls for full Israeli withdrawal from these territories, which were captured in the Six-Day War, as part of a final peace settlement

Most Israeli village, towns and cities in Judea and Samaria are legal and violate no international laws or relevant UN resolutions.  Most do not involve stealing of any Palestinian land.  In fact, Jews had paid ungodly prices for any land, and really, it's value is high, artificially raised only to Jews being they've been the only buyers.

The movement of settling in the land has provided much benefit to the Arabs of those area and fueled a tripling of the Arab populations and a skyrocketing economy for the areas which were doing so well until the onset of Arafat's rules.

Neither villages or towns and cities create stumbling blocks to peace or hinder peace negotiations.  They can and have been dismantled in the context of negotiations with an honest peace partner.  Concessions about homes already built or apartment houses should be made only in the context of negotiations, which can begin only after Palestinian leadership stops the violence, ends the terror war, and ends the hate speech and the hate preaching and the hate teaching that has permeated the Palestine society since 1994.

There is no rational justification for a one-sided Jewish community of any size  being compromised when the other side maintains a state of war against them.

Unilateral withdrawal enhances the ability of terrorists to wage  terror and war. We saw this in Gaza.

Mahmoud Abbas has been President of PA since  January 15, 2005.  He was born November 15, 1935, so is now 85 years old.

Camp David II failed in large part due to Arafat's strategy of pocketing Barak's concessions, making no substantive concessions, and then demanding more from Barak.  Arafat never intended to negotiate.  He always intended to perpetrate his long-dreamed final solution of the total destruction of Israel.  In light of the unrelenting commitment of terror groups of Fatah like Hamas and others from Lebanon and Mahmoud Abbas' frequent public statements commending the terror groups, defining their casualties as martyrs and vowing to never use force against them, it is irrational to suggest that further Israeli concessions will generate a Palestinian willingness to reciprocate.  The opposite has happened.

In his 90-minute cell-phone speech to a Lebanese PLO radio station on April 14, 2002, made from his bedroom in his headquarters in Ramallah which Israel had surrounded and partially destroyed in Operation Defensive Shield, he outlined his strategy.  The terror armies and their allies were using  Judea-Samaria as a launching pad for the great final Jihad against Israel.  Arafat died on November 4, 2004 in France.

President Trump's plan for a Palestine is that: Palestinians would be given parts of the Negev Desert, connected through small land corridors to Gaza. The Trump plan gives Palestinians less territory than previous proposals.

The plan recognizes an Israeli right to the entire Jordan Valley.

Remembering Our Former President: George H.W. Bush

Parents of President George Herbert Walker Bush
Prescott Shelton Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush
Dorothy was born in 1901 and died in 1992.
  Nadene Goldfoot
Today is a Federal Holiday, the day George Herbert Walker Bush, our 41st President is being buried. The mail is not being delivered.  Many can be watching the people showing how much they thought of this past president on their TV sets today and learn a bit about our history.   TV's NBC has been carrying the goings on all day.  It shows you never appreciate someone until they die and you learn just how outstanding they may have been.  Bush is one of those, who set the pattern of how to be an honorable president, husband and parent.

Our country is only 242 years old.  George Washington, our 1st president didn't take office until 1789 and he served until 1797, the sum of 8 years.  George Washington was leader of our War of Independence, crossing the Delaware River, etc. and George Herbert Walker Bush was leader of Desert Storm of the Gulf War. "The Gulf War, codenamed Operation Desert Shield for operations leading to the buildup of troops and defense of Saudi Arabia and Operation Desert Storm in its combat phase, was a war waged by coalition forces from 35 nations led by the United States against Iraq in response to Iraq's invasion and annexation of Kuwait." George faced much in his 4 years in office.

I thought of ancient Israel as the read their eulogy about President Bush, reading words by Elijah, I believe it was,  to give aid and comfort to his own people in their time of need, and I thought that this was so nice, giving value to words of one of our major prophets, words that comfort all people. Did Episcopalians realize that this came from the Jews so long ago?  Elijah was prophet during the reign of Ahab and Ahaziah (876-853 BCE) David was our  king after King Saul.  David built Jerusalem as his capital and ruled from 1010 to 970 BCE; over 3,000 years ago.  Jerusalem is referred to as THE CITY OF DAVID.  I believe it was George Bush 43 who commented that Israel's size was so small, that it wasn't as big as his ranch in Texas.  "The U.N. passed six resolutions against Israel on Friday, November 30th,  preserving its reputation of being obsessed with attacking the Jewish State and rejecting Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem."

Netanyahu hated George H.W. Bush’s peace plan. Now it’s his policy.  His opposition to the US-led Madrid peace process as deputy foreign minister made him persona non grata at the State Department.  So says the Times of Israel.  The fact was that despite the tense relationship with Israel that was a hallmark of Bush’s single term,  Netanyahu could praise him for things he had then opposed.

“What we envision is a process of direct negotiations proceeding along two tracks — one between Israel and the Arab states, the other between Israel and the Palestinians,” Bush said at the opening of the Madrid peace parley on Oct. 30, 1991. “This conference cannot impose a settlement on the participants or veto agreements.”

"Bush’s secretary of state, James Baker, was so frustrated with what he perceived to be Netanyahu’s obstructionism that he banned him from the State Department."

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent “heartfelt condolences… on my behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Israel.

“The people of Israel will always remember his commitment to the security of Israel, his important contribution to the liberation of Soviet Jewry and his efforts to promote peace in the Middle East.”

I note that George HW Bush had been Vice President of Ronald Reagan, our 40th president through both his terms, from 1981 to 1989. Many presidents have been vice presidents first.  It was the case with Thomas Jefferson, Martin Van Buren, John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Lindon Johnson, and Gerald Ford,  There were Vice Presidents who ran for the Presidency and lost, too.

Jeb Bush, Governor
John Ellis "Jeb" Bush, Bush 41's son,   served as the 43rd Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007.
Not many were like George H.W. Bush who was the father of a Governor and a father of a President.

Prescott Sheldon Bush b: May 15, 1895 in Columbus, Ohio
d: Oct 8, 1972 in New York,
Republican Senator from Connecticut Nov 4, 1952-1963.

Wife was Dorothy Walker.
His parents were Samuel P. Bush and Flora Sheldon.

He was George Bush 41's father.
He himself was the son of a Senator, so no wonder he was so fitted for the job.

Therefore, we had a George Herbert Walker Bush
and his son, George  Walker Bush, our 43rd president.  The son had previously served as the 46th Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000. They've all had lots of experience in politics.

It's not uncommon to have had 2 different presidents out of our 45 to have the same surnames.  We've had John Adams 2, AND John Quincy Adams 5;  Andrew Johnson 17 and Lyndon Baines Johnson 36;  Theodore Roosevelt 26 and Franklin Delano Roosevelt 32;

Our 42nd, William Jefferson Clinton (Bill) was not the first Clinton in our history.  George Clinton was a vice president for Thomas Jefferson 3 and James Madison 4.  Bill had been the governor of
Arkansas from 1979 to 1981, and again from 1983 to 1992.

Bill Clinton 42

George W. Bush 43

Donald Trump 45

An interesting fact is that Bill Clinton 42, George Walker Bush 43 and our present President, Donald John Trump 45, were all born in 1946.  Donald was born in June(6-14)a Gemini, George in July (7-6) Cancer and Bill in August(8-19) Leo.   Another surprise was that though Clinton, a Democrat,  was president from 1993 to 2001 and George Walker Bush, a Republican,  was President from 2001 to 2009, they became good friends.  George learned from his father to care for people.  Bill Clinton was the President in between both the father and the son, George HW and George W.

George W. Bush 43 has a lot to live up to following such a famous and
outstanding father as George H. W. Bush.  One of the best things seen on
TV this morning was the warm handshakes he gave to President Donald
Trump.  They got together last night also before the funeral today.  It's sad
that it takes a death to bring people a little closer and nicer to each other in
realization that we're only here on loan and someday have to be taken back, so we must not waste our time here on earth.  We know now that George H.W. Bush certainly spent his whole time in good deeds as much as he could.  He was a great example to us all.

Peace In Our Times With The Palestinians? What Are The Odds?

Nadene Goldfoot

Vice President Pence is trying again for the umpteenth time to expect to bring a peace deal about with Palestinians and Israelis.  My reaction is that we are beating the horse to death by not realizing that the Arabs are not of the mindset to want peace.

Seventy-Six years ago, my neighbor, Mimi Padow, told her daughter and I about how her family had owned an orange orchard in "Palestine" and the Arabs worked for them and were peaceful.  She had playmates to play with from the Arab workers.  Then came 1929, the Crash in America, and Palestine was affected as well, but in a different way.  The Arab Sherif of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, also called the Grand Mufti, feared he was about to lose his powers awarded to him by the British Jew from the League of Nations, and he caused riots of Arabs attacking Jews there and in other towns.  The British had occupied Jerusalem in December 1917 with General Allenby at the head.   Husseini had also instigated riots in 1922 because  the British now held the mandate for 30 years and were going to allow Jews to enter.  By 1946 the  population was 165,000 of whom 100,000 were Jews.   Arabs didn't want Palestine to become the Jewish Homeland.

This went on and changed the calm attitude of the Arabs so much that Dr Padrow, a dentist and pharmacist, packed up his wife Mimi, and they headed to the United States.  Mimi had been born in Tel Aviv, founded in 1909 as the suburb of Jaffa.  1948 came about with Israel being formed out of a small piece of Palestine, when all of Palestine had been planned through the League of Nations to be the Homeland for the Jews, people who had waited over 2,000 years to regain their homeland, homeless themselves for that length of time.  They had lived in many countries, thinking they had had a home and were part of it, only to be expulsed over and over again because they weren't Christians and were becoming successful.

At first Jews were able to enter the land that was held by the British until they became wise about the oil found in places like Saudi Arabia and realized that England needed oil more and more for cars that were developing rapidly.  Suddenly, as WWII approached, Jews were kept from entering while Arabs were allowed and were coming through with the British blessing, illegally or not.

Khaled Meshal, head Hamas terrorist and government leader, wants EU to release them from the terrorist list.
He doesn't want to give up his terrorism acts, though.
Peace with the Arabs?  It sounds easy, doesn't it?  Who wouldn't want peace?  The Israelis certainly do.  They haven't experienced peace in their time since the creation of Israel May 14, 1948.

Ever since that day, the Palestinian Arabs have been tools used by their leaders, who have wanted the land because the Jews have it.  Their coveting leaders saw to it that these Arabs were to live in refugee camps in order to gain sympathy from the rest of the world.  There were Arab families who weren't duped by these leaders and who remained.  They're the Arab citizens of today, 20% of the population.   Let it be understood.  Israel is not just a state for all.  It was created for the purpose of being the Jewish Homeland.  It's the only state in the world that is a refuge for Jews in a world of Gentiles.  That balance is not to be changed as happened in Lebanon.  That was once a refuge for Christians, ruled by Christians who were slaughtered and have been taken over by the terrorists for many years now.

Take  25 year old Palestinian parents with a year old child in 1948.  That baby today is 70 years old.  The 25 year olds were born in 1923, and have long died  Their descendants have been educated with a historical fiction of a past made with stories of an ownership of land that never existed.  There never was a country of Palestine that was lost to the West.  It was land, originally mostly ancient Israel, taken originally by Roman soldiers who had burned the 2nd Temple down and had taken Jerusalem.  Then later in 132, they named the land Palestine.  It has been occupied by a number of Middle East Caliphates through the ages, but never had become a country of its own  It was in dire shape by the 1920's, swampy-filled and turned to desert, weeds and mosquitoes  living there with marauding Bedouins racing through on their donkeys or camels  on the way to somewhere else.  Poor Jews lived there, many depending on aid from fellow Jews in their temporary homes.  Turkish soldiers patrolled, keeping order and taking baksheesh.   It was the pits, as far as other Arabs were concerned, the dregs of land no one wanted to be sent to, the Siberia of the Middle East.

Arabs were not interested in becoming responsible for creating a country UNTIL the Jews wanted it back and received it.  That old commandment of "Thou shall not covet your neighbors things" never fell on these Arabs' ears.  Instead, Thou Shall covet your neighbor's land  had become the law of the land and all Arabs seemed to follow this opposing belief.  One by one, leading countries came from all corners of the Middle East, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Turkey it was as the Ottoman Empire for the last 400 years occupied the land until they miscalculated by joining Germany in WWI.

The Palestinian Arabs are the mixture of many people who can never be peaceful because they haven't been so ever since their creation which was AFTER Israel's birth.  Before that, they told people they were Syrians.

In my opinion, they have become the closest you can get to find living robots.  That's because they have been programmed to have one goal in life, to take ALL of Israel and to kill Jews.  No other goal has mattered.  They have been told no other teaching other than their religion of Islam.  Many Arab countries have been sending them vast amounts of money.  The United States has been doing this, and they haven't used it for the basic needs of anything, even  of electricity.  It's been Israel who supplies the electricity and they've never paid their bill for it.  They are not using it to better the life of their people.  Do that and they'll forget to hate Jews!

No, they've used the money to buy weapons and the raw materials to make them with as well as to dig walkable tunnels in which to attack Israelis from.

Oslo Accords September 13, 1993 signed
There have been moments when the West thought they held peace in the palm of their hand.  When Bill Clinton was president from 1993 to 2001, Arafat made out like he wanted peace, but it never came about.  He even was awarded a peace prize along with Clinton and Rabin, but it was given out  without testing the waters.  They should have waited to see if it would hold more than a week.

"In August 1993, the delegations had reached an agreement, which was signed in secrecy by Peres while visiting Oslo. In the Letters of Mutual Recognition, the PLO acknowledged the State of Israel and pledged to reject violence, and Israel recognized the PLO as the representative of the Palestinian people and as partner in negotiations. Yasser Arafat was allowed to return to the Occupied Palestinian Territories. In 1995, the Oslo I Accord was followed by Oslo II. Neither promised Palestinian statehood."  And on and on.  Nothing has been reached except attacks on Israel with Israel being forced to retaliate.

It's worse than the shape we're in today with Democrats and Republicans.  We're only dividing more and more with all sorts of tricks being played in the disappointment of today's president for the other side.  Hatred has developed far more than understanding and patience.  These same people cannot get their act together to get along and they expect the Palestinians and Arabs to make peace today!  At least Pence has a better realistic awareness of the problem than previous people.

Bill Clinton and aide, Monica Lewinsky
Maybe we've all been programmed in our genes to see two sides of a coin, to see the glass being half filled or half empty  The trick of civilization is to be aware of 2 opinions and live with it anyway in the best possible ways.  We're still emotionally in the stone age in an era of being capable of inter-universe travel.  Technically we're brilliant, while our men are still sexually ready to grab women by the hair and drag them into their dens.

La dee da.  I wonder if other planets are having the same problems?  Well, we've reached  a point of being able to destroy ours.  This is the time for the Moshiach to arrive, isn't it?  Life is getting out of our hands.

We're not living up to our requirements as people on this earth.  I think the biggest shock to me is that there were men on earth a few thousand years ago who were prophets telling others that this very point in time would happen.  Gee whiz!  That's more mind-blowing than flying to the moon!  The 2nd shock is that all 3 major religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam also believe this, but with their own versions, of course.  Yet they still continue on as nutty as ever.  Talk about stubbornness!

The Hamas Covenant or Hamas Charter, formally known in English as the Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement, was originally issued on 18 August 1988 and outlines the founding identity, stand, and aims of Hamas (the Islamic Resistance Movement).A new charter was issued by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal on 1 May 2017 in Doha.

Hamas reenactment of kidnapping Israeli soldiers

The 2017 charter accepted for the first time the idea of a Palestinian state within the borders that existed before 1967 and rejects recognition of Israel which it terms as the "Zionist enemy". It advocates such a state as transitional but also advocates "liberation of all of Palestine". The new document also states that the group doesn't seek war with the Jewish people but only against Zionism which it holds responsible for "occupation of Palestine". Mashal also stated that Hamas was ending its association with the Muslim Brotherhood.

That's nothing.  Mashal and Abbas can't even get along for any long period  It's an off and on relationship at best.  This seems to be typical.  The Middle East is a very competitive land, even more than Europe was.  What does Pence think of the new Hamas Charter?

  • The Tragedy of Mahmoud Abbas - Grant Rumley
  • "PA President Mahmoud Abbas, 82, the president of the Palestinian Authority, addressed the PLO's Central Council on Jan. 14. Over two rambling hours, he deployed anti-Semitic tropes, undercut the Jewish connection to Israel, and blamed everyone from Oliver Cromwell to Napoleon to Winston Churchill for Israel's creation.
He repeatedly cursed President Donald Trump ("may your house fall into ruin"); he has also said he will boycott Vice President Mike Pence's upcoming visit. He issued indirect rebukes of Arab leaders after days of reportedly confrontational meetings with other Gulf officials." and more
