New York Times Sued by Israel's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

 Nadene Goldfoot

Ramy Abdu, Hamas Affiliated Deviously Ramy Abdu is a Palestinian financial expert and human rights advocate who was born in the Gaza Strip. He is the founder and chairman of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, established in 2011.   There are very few males in Gaza who don't belong to Hamas, if you want to know.  Children grow up with the goals of Hamas.  They will never admit this to an outsider;  they're not stupid. AI said: Estimates of Hamas's armed wing (the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades) in Gaza generally range between 20,000 and 40,000 fighters as of 2024-2025, according to various intelligence and media reports. While total population exceeds 2 million, the vast majority of males in Gaza are not combatants or official members of Hamas.  Sure.  It's like believing that China just wants to be USA's friend and would love to help us with the Strait of Hormuz.

Netanyahu, Sa’ar to sue New York Times over ‘one of

most distorted lies’ against Israel

Prime minister and foreign minister say Israel will sue the American newspaper over what they call one of the most horrifying lies ever published against the country, after Pulitzer winner Nicholas Kristof alleged systematic sexual violence of Palestinians by Israeli soldiers and prison guards.

The decision follows an opinion column by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof, who accused IDF soldiers and Israeli prison guards of systematic and brutal sexual abuse of Palestinian detainees.  Many of these detainees were Security Prisoners or those convicted or suspected of planning or carrying out attacks against Israelis.  There are another type;  Administrative Detainees who are held without charges, often for an undetermined time, so far. It may be that in  the USA, they would be held for 24 hours and released, but here in Israel, where the state is dodging bomb attacks by such terrorists  that the USA never experience, it's a different proposition.  If people would stop stabbing and bombing Israelis there would be no Administrative detainees.

Among the claims cited in the column were allegations of rape using dogs, metal rods and other forms of sexual violenceKristof is accusing them of defaming Israeli soldiers and “perpetuating a blood libel about rape.” “They tried to create a false symmetry between the genocidal terrorists of Hamas and Israel’s valiant soldiers,” Netanyahu wrote. “Under my leadership, Israel will not be silent. We will fight these lies in the court of public opinion and in the court of law. Truth will prevail.”
Hamas, a terrorist organization
The move came a day after Israel’s Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Ministry published a report saying one of the key sources used in Kristof’s column was Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva-based organization headed by Ramy Abdu, whom Israel has linked to Hamas.

"One of the NGO’s primary figures, founder and chairman Ramy Abdu, was the subject of an Israeli administrative detention order issued in 2020 under Israel’s Counter-Terrorism Law due to his alleged activities with “IPalestine,” an organization designated by Israel as affiliated with Hamas, according to the report published on May 13.

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, while registered in Switzerland as a regional human rights organization, focuses overwhelmingly on anti-Israel advocacy, including documentation efforts, legal submissions to international bodies and media campaigns accusing Israel of war crimes and genocide, the report states.

The ministry said the organization provided “evidentiary infrastructure” to South Africa’s case against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, including allegations related to mass graves and damage to Gaza’s healthcare system."

According to the ministry, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor presents itself as a regional human rights organization focused on the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, but in practice concentrates much of its work on harming Israel and its interests. The ministry said Abdu, Euro-Med’s founder and chairman, was the subject of an Israeli administrative seizure order signed in 2020 by then-Defense Minister Benny Gantz under counterterrorism legislation. The order, which expired in August 2022, was issued over Abdu’s role as a board member of IPalestine, which Israel designated as a Hamas-affiliated terrorist organization.

Kristof’s column, published under the headline “The Silence That Meets the Rape of Palestinians,” alleged that sexual abuse had become a “standard operating procedure.” The column included graphic accounts of Palestinians whose genitals were allegedly pulled or beaten, men who allegedly underwent testicle amputations because of violence inflicted on them, and claims that detainees were raped with metal batons. Kristof said the column was based on interviews with 14 alleged victims.

I've been following all this since 2004. This is the usual attack by using what they have done to Israel by turning the story against themselves as the victim later. They found that victims get more empathy from the news. So much of what they cite happened to Israel on October 7, 2023 by such horrid attackers as Hamas. I'll never forget this one: (A girl was raped over and over in front of her family and it was so bad they broke her hips separating her legs, finally. )

Available on google is: In 2011 Abdu founded and became the chairman of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor.

Abdu was the assistant director and Palestine Office Manager for Council for European Palestinian Relations, and was on the board of trustees of the International platform of NGOs working for Palestine. In 2011 he was the media coordinator for the Freedom Flotilla II. He is a policy analyst with the Al-Shabaka, a Palestinian policy network. meaning in their words,

We’re building a network
for liberation.

Now, they didn't come out and say they were a Hamas organization, but if you know history, 1967 was a turning point, and the meeting in Africa decided the 3 No's.  Hamas wants to crush Israel and take over.  It took a while.  Hamas was founded in December 1987 in the Gaza Strip during the beginning of the first Palestinian Intifada (uprising). It emerged as an offshoot of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, established by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and other activists.

Hamas Ideology: Combines Palestinian nationalism with Islamic fundamentalism, aiming to

establish an Islamic state in

place of Israel.

Abdu sponsored the establishment of We Are Not Numbers in early 2015. Conceived by American journalist Pam Bailey and co-founded by journalist Ahmed Alnaouq under the umbrella of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, the project was launched for young adults in the Gaza Strip and designed both to help them share their narratives (and those of their people) in their own words with the Western (English-speaking) world to counter stereotypes about Palestinians.

It is truly a modern day blood libel. The saddest, and scariest, part of this is that millions of people around the world actually belief these lies.
