Aged Trump In His Brassy Years

 Nadene Goldfoot

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) ;now 79 years old, soon to reach 80,  is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who is the 47th president of the United States. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021.

We remember him on "The Apprentice."  The first season aired during the winter and spring of 2004, executive-produced by Mark Burnett, Jay Bienstock, and Trump, who also hosts the show. The show led Trump to become known for his fateful catch phrase "You're Fired!".  He was the rich man without a heart who enjoyed firing people, and did it in every show.  I could not stand watching it as I couldn't bare seeing people cry after being fired for seemingly no good reasons.

Well, people shouldn't be surprised at all with what we now see in Trump's behaviors.  He hasn't changed at all.  He doesn't flinch while firing people we thought were his best buddies, like his Vice President, Michael R. Pence,  48th Vice President of the United States.  He lasted until that terrible January 6th day of 2021 when he was hunted down in the White House by invaders who wanted to kill him.  An angry mob chanting “hang Mike Pence” came within 40 feet of the vice president. He spent nearly five hours in an underground loading dock. And the president called him a “wimp” and worse.

Mr. Pence’s Secret Service detail had to hustle him to safety and held him for nearly five hours in the bowels of the Capitol. Trump called him these names in a coarse of an abusive call that morning from the Oval Office, Mr. Trump’s daughter and former White House aides testified.

And a confidential witness who traveled to Washington with the Proud Boys, the most prominent of the far-right groups that helped lead the assault on the Capitol, later told investigators the group would have killed Mr. Pence — and Speaker Nancy Pelosi — if they got the chance. The crowd was worked up into such an agitated mood that they were bent on killing, not talking about anything.  Trump seemed to be the agitator by his words and then his action of not doing a thing to protect people on his killing list.  He's gotten away with this crime because he has developed such power, I hate to say.

Back in January 2021, he could not have foreseen himself at age 80 when the Golden Years start turning into the Brassy Years.  By that, you start noticing that you're not 25 anymore.  You're aching in new spots, having a harder time understanding news, perhaps, but not realizing it which is due to mental facilities weakening, along with hearing.  I don't care if you're pushing a pencil or a broom, it happens to all of us somehow.  We're not robots programed for AI.  Our judgement starts to falter.  Watch out!  80 is just an average number.  For some it's earlier or later, but not too much later.  Memory seems to be the first affected at all ages to some degree.

Donald Trump's father was Frederick Christ Trump Sr. (October 11, 1905 – June 25, 1999).   He died at age 93 after falling ill with pneumonia..

He was an American real-estate developer and businessman   In 1998, a year before Fred's death, while he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and his son Robert had power of attorney, the notes were transferred to limited liability companies connected to Trump Organization subsidiaries.

Donald Trump's mother was Mary Ann Trump (née MacLeodScottish GaelicMàiri Anna Nic Leòid Trump ( May 10, 1912 – August 7, 2000) was a Scottish-American socialite and philanthropist.  She died at age 88.  As she grew older, Trump suffered from severe osteoporosis. On October 31, 1991, at 79, she was mugged while shopping on Union Turnpike in Long Island near her home. She resisted the mugger's attempt to steal her purse, which contained $14, and was then knocked to the ground and beaten. She sustained broken ribs, facial bruises, several fractures, a brain hemorrhage, and permanent damage to her sight and hearing. A bread-truck driver named Lawrence Herbert apprehended her 16-year-old assailant, for which Herbert was later rewarded by Donald Trump with a check that kept him from losing his home to foreclosure.   This was a big mitzvah on Donald's part.  Her assailant later pleaded guilty to robbery and assault, and was sentenced to three to nine years in prison, such a light sentence for ruining this elderly lady's life!
