immigration into US Surge Causing Breaking Point For Border Patrol

 Nadene Goldfoot

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) continue to deal

with a migration surge that has seen the agency encounter

north of 164,000 people in the southwest over the past 10

months, local police are being forced to pick up some of the

slack. "The Border Patrol agents and the sheriffs are beyond

a breaking point," Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales,

who represents the district, told Newsweek.Across Texas'

expansive 23rd congressional district, which runs about 800

miles from south of El Paso to north of Laredo, responding to

migrants trespassing through ranches and apprehending

smugglers has become a normal part of the job for police,

 Gonzales told Newsweek.

Right now, migrants fleeing “failing” Communist regimes in Latin America are overwhelming Border Patrol agents in southern Texas, according to new federal data.

Migrants from Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua “are driving a new wave of migration across the Western Hemisphere, including the recent increase in encounters at the southwest U.S. border,” said U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus this week. “[T]]hose fleeing repressive regimes pose significant challenges for processing and removal.”

More than 203,000 migrants were stopped along the length of the US southern border with Mexico in August, according to CBP statistics released earlier this week. Of that number, 55,333 were from Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua — a 175% surge in migrants from those countries compared to the previous year, CBP data shows.

The influence of Iran, and its proxy Hezbollah, which allegedly operates narco-money laundering activities in parts of Latin America, continues to pose an ever-present threat to Jewish communities as these entities have a long record of plotting violence against global Jewish targets

While historically Hezbollah activity  was largely centered in the Triple Frontier between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil, it  is now  alleged by some analysts that such operations  have expanded to other countries, such as Venezuela.

ADL has long supported efforts to pressure Latin American governments to prevent Islamist extremists from operating in their borders and to fully designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. 2021 proved to be a year that many governments, including Argentina, ParaguayColombiaGuatemala and Honduras  designated Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and so has the Organization of American States.

G.O.P. Governors Cause Havoc by Busing Migrants to East Coast

Thousands of migrants have been arriving on buses sent by the governors of Texas and Arizona. Many have ended up in homeless shelters and on the streets.

The entrance in Texas where immigrants enter

New photos released Monday by a Texas House Democrat show crowded conditions inside a U.S. Customs and Border Protection overflow facility in Donna, Texas, where migrants, including families with children, are being held for processing before their transfer to facilities operated by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Taken over the weekend, the photos show migrants, with their faces obscured by Rep. Henry Cuellar's office, sitting in crowded, makeshift quarters assembled by the U.S. Border Patrol to handle the increasing number of migrants crossing the southwest border and straining the Biden administration's existing facilities and resources.

Jewish communities in Latin America are ardently Zionist, with strong loyalty to their home countries along with an affinity for the State of Israel. Issues surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and broader issues in the Middle East directly impact local Jewish communities in the region, with noticeable spikes in antisemitic incidents when tensions rise as was the case in May 2021 during the conflict  between Israel and Hamas.  Guatemala and Honduras are the only countries in the region to have their embassies in Jerusalem. Paraguay briefly moved its embassy in May 2018 under the presidency of Horacio Cartes, but the move was reversed a few months later by President Mario Abdo Benitez. Brazil has signaled its willingness to move its embassy but has yet to fully implement the decision.   Venezuela and Cuba do not have diplomatic relations with Israel.

There is a vociferous anti-Israel group led by the Chilean Palestinian Federation that employs a systematic campaign to delegitimize the State of Israel, such as proposing a bill that seeks to strip away the Chilean citizenship of any adult who volunteers to serve in the Israeli army.  In addition, there is a pending bill in Congress to penalize individuals and companies who do business in “Illegal Settlements in Occupied Territories” - referring to Palestinian Territories. Unfortunately, the newly elected President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, supports such bill, and has made problematic statements in the past claiming Israel is a genocidal state and putting the onus on the local Jewish community to demand from Israel the return of Palestinian lands. We hope that the Boric administration will understand that such statements and actions may lead to expressions of antisemitism and put the local Jewish community at peril.

Aluf  "General" Bar Kokhba [Simeon ben Kosiba], nephew of Rabbi Eleaezar of Modiin and of Davidic descent.  Rabbi Akiva thought he was the Messiah.

The fact is that there are no Palestinian lands for Israel to return!  These countries obviously have false information spread by Palestinians or their sympathizers.  That's because "Palestine" was a a huge stretch of land named by the Romans after the Jewish Aluf "general" Bar Kokhba lost the 3 year  battle  in 135 and the Romans did that out of anger.  The Romans had named the Jewish land after the worst enemy the Jews had had.  Though the Romans had destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple there in 70, Bar Kokhba, had tried to regain it in 132's battle.  So Palestine wasn't a country with a king or President, it was the Roman name of land they had taken in battle through occupation and having the strongest army in the world.
