Tel Aviv is a cacophonous mixture of heritage that offers an exciting melting pot of cuisines, cultural traits, accents and world-views. It is often called ‘The City That Never Stops’ and we can promise it will amaze, delight, and have you begging for more with its variety of high-end restaurants, trendy cafes, cool bars, wild nightlife, amazing architecture, white sand beaches and crystal blue water. Founded by Jews in 1909 as suburb of Jaffa; named after title of the Hebrew translation of Herzl's novel, Altneuland  taken from (Ezek.3:15).  Jaffa mentioned in 16th century BCE Egyptian records and Assyrian documents;  marked boundary of the Philistines  and within the tribal area of Judah;  Turks exiled population during WWI. Then Arabs rioted in 1936 (Germany attacking Jews)  forcing Jews to abandon Jaffa.  Israel created May 14, 1948. Tel Aviv-Jaffa amalgamated in 1949 population in 1990 being 317,000 with most from Tel Aviv. Tel=hill;  Aviv=Spring. 

Jerusalem:                       

   Israelis; living through War of Independence 1947-1949;  Sinai War 29 October to 5 November 1956;  Six-Day War of 5 to 11 June 1967, War of Attrition from 1968 to cease-fire on 7-8 August 1979; and Yom Kippur War of October 6-25 1973. followed up by many outbursts of war.  These young men were born nd raised in war times.  Jews are returning from throughout the world.  It had been prophesized that this would happen.  It's continuing.  This is the time of the RETURN.  

In May 2012, Jerusalem was 64% Jewish. The data show that in 2011 Jerusalem's population was estimated at 801,000, of which 64 percent were Jews and other non-Arabs and 36 percent were Arabs.  Jewish population in 2022 of Jerusalem is 956,849.  a 1,55,149 increase in the 10 years.  

There were 497,000 Jews in Jerusalem in 2011, 281,000 Muslims, 14,000 Christians and 9,000 with no stated religious affiliation. In total, since 1967 and until the end of 2011 the city's population grew by 200 percent: the Jewish population increased by 157 percent and the Arab population increased by 327 percent.

 1. There are 6,930,000 Jews living in Israel as of the year 2022.

Abraham arrived from Ur with family after during 2nd millennium:1948 BCE. Moses arrived with over 6 million Israelites from Egypt by 1,271 BCE, set up government with King Saul before 1020 BCE, David 1010-970 BCE, Solomon 961-920 BCE, etc, till 70 CE when Romans ended Jerusalem, Temple. Life continued there, near there;  group returnees in 1st Aliyah in 1800s, Rebirth of Israel May 14, 1948.  Jews massacred in Jerusalem by Crusaders in 1099.  

2. There are 6,000,000 Jews in the USA.

First few Jews arrived in 1621.  First community of 23 Sephardic Jews in 1654 in New Amsterdam (New York) 1900s saw big influx of immigrants from Eastern Europe/Russia.  1924, door closed mainly to Jews.  

The killings in January 2015 of Yohan Cohen, 20; Yoav Hattab, 21; Philippe Braham, 45; and François-Michel Saada, 64, on Friday at the Hyper Cacher market in Paris by an Islamist militant shook France’s half-million-strong Jewish community, the largest in Europe.   A few mourners held signs with photographs of the victims and the words “Je suis mort parce que juif,” meaning “I died because I am Jewish.”

3. There are  446,000 Jews in France.

Jews living here before 70 CE. during period of Roman Empire.  lived there since 8thth century under protection of Charlemagne, in Rhone Valle and Champagne. Jews expulsed in 1306.  In 1420 was annihilation of Jewish community in Toulouse,, France.  

4. There are 393,500 Jews in Canada.

Jews lived in Montreal after British conquest, and in1768 established a congregation of Sephardim Jews; 1832 Jews of Quebec gave Jews full civil rights.

5. There are 292,000 Jews in the United Kingdom.

England: Norman Conquest of 1066, slaughtered in 1st 2 Crusades, 3rd of 1189 attacked,, expulsed from 1290 to 1655 (365 years), better  by 19th century. By 1990, population with Northern Ireland was  about 330,000.  

Scotland: Jews entered in 17th century in Edinburgh and Glasgow, a few at Medical school in 18th, Russian immigrants entered  with Edinburgh having 600.  population by 1990 was 12,000.  

Ireland: Jews lived here in 12th and 13th centuries.  None survived 1290.  A few Marranos settled in Dublin after 1660, then 1689 revolution.  Ashkenazim Jews replaced Sephardim, by 1816 only 3 Jewish families in Dublin and few in other parts.  More by 1822, 400 Jews in 1880. My grandfather and his relatives were here before 1900.  Chief rabbinate founded in 1918.   of Yitzhak Halevi  Herzog.  By 1990, 1,600 in Republic of Ireland in Dublin; and Northern Ireland 400 in Belfast.  

Wales: A few Jews here by 13th century under England.  German Jews arrived in 1731-1741;  1840 in Cardiff;   and after 1882 by Russian Jews.  Cardiff had 1,700 but has shrunk to 3/4 of total Jewish population..

6. There are 175,000 Jews in Argentina.

Marranos arrived in 16th century.  By 19th century, Jewish traders came west, central Europe.  Buenos Aires in 1862 was home. 1880 brought more.  After WWI 1918, Spanish speaking Sephardi immigration from Mediterranean lands with 240,000 immigrants from 1881-1951.  in 1889, 136 Jewish families arrived from Ukraine needing to settle. . By 1891,, Baron de Hirsch had plan for the mass-settlement of Jews on farmland; not successful.  1940 there were 25 Jewish colonies with 28,000 settlers.  Many moved to towns  Had largest Sephardi in Latin America with 35,000.  By 1990, population was 228,000 in Buenos Aires with 15,000 in Rosario and 10,000 in Cordova. Nazi escapees also settled in Argentina. Jews were not willing to become farmers nor living with possible Nazis.  

7. There are 150,000 Jews in Russia.

Jews lived in Russia since classical times; Crimea, Caucasus, Khazars, Lithuania, Turkestan, Ukraine, history, etc. By 986 involved seeing conversion to Christianity of Duke Vladimir;  Kiev had a Jewish gate in 12th  century;  a Jewish quarter in 1113.  1563, Jews were drowned at Polotsk and Vitchsk -refused baptism; 1648-1656 saw 100,000 Jews murdered in the Chmielnicki massacres in Poland;  1727 and 1747, Jews were expelled from Russia;  1871-Anati-Jewish pogroms held in towns of Russia;   1882-1890-750,000 Jews forced to re-settle in the Pale of Settlement. and by 1891-Jews were expelled from Moscow and St. Petersburg.  Many people are now leaving Russia due to the attack on Ukraine and the population turning on Putin now.  Jews of Ukraine have gone to Israel and many Ukrainians went to Poland.      

8. There are 118,000 Jews in Germany

321 CE: Roman Emperor Constantine issued regulations about Jews at Cologne and on Rhineland against them.  8th and 9th century found Jews  living in Caolingian royal house government that was pro-Jewish encouraging Jewish settlement for developing trade for them; living in Augsburg, Metz; by 10th century in Worms, Mainz, Magdeburg, Ratisbon, etc.  with densest in Rhineland of Mainz, Speyer, Worms, Cologne, etc, by 11th century-conditions not favorable;  Persecution in 1012; 1096 Crusaders massacred Jews in Rhineland and nearby.  From then on, moral attitude changed. and Jews continued to be attacked.  1298 attacks from Rindfleisch knight, 1336 attacks led by fanatics of Armleder and 1348 and 1349 during Black Death.  Over 350 Jewish communities suffered from attacks and 200 communities entirely wiped out.  During 2nd half of 14th century, Jewish survivors kept hungry by canceling debts owed to them cancelled.  17th century was 30 Years War, many using Jews who became Court Jews who loaned money.  1096 saw the German Crusade massacre Jews in many European towns.   By 1421 Jews were expelled from Austria.  From 1939 to 1945, the Holocaust murder of 6 million Jews by German Nazis and their European collaborators.  In 1938, the Jewish population was 540,000.  By September 1939, the number had been halved, and by 1942 none remained as they had killed those that had remained.  In 1965, diplomatic relations were established between Israel and West Germany.  

9. There are   91,500 Jews in Brazil.

1st possible Jew, Fernando de Noronha in 1503, a Marrano; later Marranos from Portugal came,-deported in Spanish Inquisition, growing sugar, tobacco, rice, cotton; 1591 inquisitional visits causing emigration going to Bahia from Holland in Dutch rule (1624-1625).  Marranos reverted quickly to their Judaism in 1631 from Holland.  Other Jews arrived in Brazil though the centuries.  Jews living in Dutch Brazil after a Portuguese re-conquest from Dutch India Company with grant right to live and trade in New Netherlands on  April 26, 1655.                      

The Jewish Agency said the past year saw the largest number of Jews make aliyah — the Hebrew term for immigrating to Israel — in 20 years, with some 60,000 immigrants arriving from 93 countries. Ethiopians are one of the latest immigrants.
