Changes In the USA's Politics Affecting Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

In 2012, something most unworthy of the Democratic Party happened. President Obama said in 2008 that he was for change.  I cringed at those words and immediately thought of Israel.

"Several pro-Israel sections of the 2008 Democratic Party platform have been removed from the 2012 platform—on Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees, and Hamas. The new platform represents another shift by the Obama Democrats toward the Palestinian position on key issues in the peace process."

"“Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel” is  in a section that describes Mr. Obama’s policy toward the country. That sentence was in the 2008 platform, but the Democrats removed it in 2012, saying that they wanted to spotlight other elements of Mr. Obama’s policy and that the platform should reflect a sitting president rather than a candidate for office."  Sure.  The USA still has not accepted Jerusalem as Israel's capital.  Since 1967, Jerusalem was freed from the Jordanians who had attacked Israel with the Syrians and Egyptians, and they lost the gamble.  Israel withstood the affront and won the battle.

" Obama administration’s policy of not recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and supporting its division" goes against everything our history tells us about ancient Israel and Judah. "Jerusalem is unmentioned in the 2012 document, whereas the 2008 and 2004 Democratic Party platforms declared “Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel…It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths.” " Jerusalem was the capital after being captured by David in about 1010 BCE.  It's also called the City of David and Zion.  It was David who made it the capital of an empire reaching from the Red Sea to the Euphrates River.  For 2,000 years, since it was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE, Jews have been praying to return to Jerusalem.

It was Harry Truman, a Democrat, who recognized Israel as a state in 1948, and now, the Democrats can't even accept Jerusalem as their capital.

In May of this year of 2016, 3 outspoken critics of Israel were named to the party's platform-drafting committee who most likely never will, either.

Cornel West, b: June 2, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma
1. Cornel West:  Philosopher and professor emeritus at Princeton University.  He backs the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel.  Not only is he  "an American philosopher, academic, social activist, author, public intellectual, and prominent member of the Democratic Socialists of America",  but was "was Professor of African American Studies at Princeton."  He's known for his work on " the role of racegender, and class in American society and the means by which people act and react to their "radical conditionedness."    West draws intellectual contributions from multiple traditions, including Christianitythe black churchMarxismneopragmatism, and transcendentalism." In his youth, he admired "the sincere black militancy of Malcolm X, the defiant rage of the Black Panther Party [...] and the livid black theology of James Cone.  "  "He worked with such public figures as Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton, whose 2004 presidential campaign West advised." "West has described himself as a "non-Marxist socialist" (partly because he cannot reconcile Marxism with Christianity) ]and serves as honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America,"  He supported Bernie Sanders, another Socialist who ran on the Democratic ticket.

James Joseph Zogby b: 1945 in Utica, New York
2. James Zogby:  President of the Arab American Institute:    He backs the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel.  His credentials are that he  is the founder and president of the Arab American Institute (AAI), a Washington, D.C.–based organization which serves as a political and policy research arm of the Arab-American community. He is a Lebanese Arab who is a Christian Catholic.  "Zogby is a lecturer and scholar on Middle East issues and a Visiting Professor of Social Research and Public Policy at New York University Abu Dhabi." He's also a  "member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee. His father was an illegal Lebanese Catholic immigrant who was able to get on Obama's amnesty program.  "In a March 2008 e-mail to a television station which had aired an interview with Zogby,  Patrick Syring, a man who  was a career Foreign Service Officer of the U.S. State Department, accused Zogby and the Arab American Institute of "promoting the interests of HezbollahHamas and Arab terror.  Syring was sentenced July 11, 2008, to one year in prison for civil rights violations. He was released early on January 30, 2009.

Keith Ellison b: August 4, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan
3. Keith Ellison:  Minnesota Congressman since 2007. Ellison has been openly critical of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians, but never vice versa, for it is the Palestinians who are bombing Israel!   "Ellison was the first Muslim to be elected to the U.S. Congress.   He is also the first African American elected to the House from Minnesota. He had been born a Catholic but has converted to Islam. " In late March and early April 2007, Ellison was a member of a congressional delegation on a "fact-finding trip to the Middle East." The group he was in was led by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The delegation visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Western Wall.   Ellison called his visit to Islam's third-holiest site, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as "personally moving".  The group met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and discussed the peace plan devised by the Saudis in 2002.  The delegation also met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas

During the 2006 election Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and James Yee, the former Muslim chaplain at Guantanamo Bay, spoke at an August 25 fundraiser for Ellison.  Awad and Ellison knew each other as they attended the University of Minnesota Law School at the same time.   According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Ellison accepted individual contributions from Nihad Awad and another leader of CAIR[not specific enough to verify]; Ellison responded that he had fully disclosed all contributions and asserted that he had "nothing to hide.".  Ellison stressed that he was supported by individuals, and that the non-profit organization itself did not endorse his candidacy. It is thought that "CAIR was "a group that Democrats say has deep ties to terrorism."  So the Republican, Alan Fine, criticized him for accepting the contribution.  "As a law student in 1989 and 1990, Ellison wrote several columns under the name "Keith E. Hakim" in the student newspaper, the Minnesota Daily. Washington Post Staff Writer Alan Cooperman said that Ellison's articles "defended Farrakhan against accusations of anti-semitism," and that Ellison "called affirmative action a 'sneaky' form of compensation for slavery, suggesting instead that white Americans pay reparations to blacks."

Bernie Sanders b: September 8, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York

Who named these 3 men to be on such a committee?  It was none other than the US Senator, Bernie Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist running on the Democratic ticket who lost out recently to Hillary Clinton.  Bernard "Bernie" Sanders is an American Independent politician, serving as the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2007.   Sanders is the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history.  His connection to Israel was "in 1963, when Sanders and Deborah Shiling, whom he met in college, volunteered for several months on the Israeli kibbutz Sha'ar HaAmakim near Haifa in Northern IsraelThey married in 1964 and bought a summer home in Vermont; they had no children and divorced in 1966."  He's remained in Vermont ever since.

He's not a religious Jew and wasn't brought up as such, but did go through a bar mitzva.   I'm afraid he's like many other American Jews, "Sanders does not regularly attend any synagogue, and he works on Rosh Hashanah, a day when Jews typically take a holiday from work."  He's an assimilated Jew.    After living in Israel for over 5 years, I can honestly say that a 2 month stay on a kibbutz is not enough time to know much about Israel at all.  Bernie's actions show me that he is not one to support Israel.  After picking this threesome, one sees the affects of his assimilation.  The sad thing is that you don't have to be Jewish to support Israel, but you'd expect Jews, who are only 2% of the American population, to support her, in varying degrees, but to support her.  When one goes out of his way, like Noam Chomsky and Norman  Finkelstein to support the Palestinians instead, one has to wonder.  Then, Norman Finkelstein has said that he's through bashing Israel, but did for years.

This is similar to the period after King Solomon died in 920 BCE, and Judah, the southern portion,  split off from Israel, becoming the more religious group of Israelites.  Israel itself had given up Jerusalem as their capital which the Judeans kept.  Today, the 6 million Jews of Israel are far more serious about their history and religious beliefs than the American Jews, who tend to have left orthodoxy to adhere to reform or conservative Judaism.  One cannot help but be serious about establishing a Jewish state and needing it for their religious freedom after 2,000 years of being boxed around by others.  Judah was made up mainly of the tribe of Judeans who today are called Jews.

In my opinion, American Jews are being mesmerized by a group called J Street, started by the infamous George Soros,  It is in competition with AIPAC, an American Jewish group who are strong advocates of Israel.  With all the tremendous slanderous accusation that have been coming from the Middle Easterners about Israel, who most have been trying to drive out since 1948, we need one factual group of defenders at least.

Coming from the Labor Party's newspaper, the Jerusalem Post, (Until 1989, the paper supported the forerunners of the Labor Party who were originally more on the left, and who have swung to the right and now to the center, even they say that J Street is not a pro-Israel group.  "J Street's approach is arrogant and paternalistic. Its leaders have the chutzpah to claim that they know better than Israelis what is good for Israel ..."  Believe me, after really living in Israel, people in the USA have no idea at all about what Israelis know what's best for them.   It's the difference between  a couch potato and an active football player.

The USA's Commitment to the Creation of Israel-Have Backed Down with Obama

Nadene Goldfoot
President Mitterand back in 1982 proposed the Palestinian state, which is not a solution for peace, as so many think.  It is most likely a recipe for the next war, the most cruel which Israel has ever known.  Israelis left Gaza in the name of peace, and what did they get?  Nothing but rockets, missiles and mortars instead hitting their southern land.

Arafat, head of PLO-renamed as Fatah

1. On 22 November 1974, France voted in favour of recognizing the PLO at the United Nations as an observer, reaffirming the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
2. In 1982, François Mitterrand was the first French President to express the goal of creating a Palestinian State before the Knesset.
3.  In 2010, France raised the status of the General Delegation of Palestine in France, which became the Mission of Palestine and is led by an ambassador.
4. In November 2012, it voted in favour of the status of non-member observer State for Palestine at the United Nations.
5.  In September 2015 for the erection of the Palestinian flag at the UN.  Well, now they're getting a taste of what it is like to have so many Arab refugees in France.  How do they like it?

France is made up of 248,573 square miles.   or 210,026 sq miles as of 2013.
Israel has                     10,425  sq. mi. including Judea and Samaria
Israel without.................8.000 square miles

YET, HERE IS WHAT FRANCE ADVOCATED FOR:

Borders based on the 1967 Lines, with agreed equivalent land swaps.  This is what Obama pushed for with Netanyahu having to explain why this is not logical at all for Israel's own safety;
It was not an easy war for Israel.
Egypt had 90,000 men and 900 tanks in the Sinai, and then they demanded the UN Emergency Force to withdraw, stopping to be the barrier between Egypt and Israel.   Led by Egypt, the Arab States formed a war pact against Israel.  Jordan, Iraq and Syrian armies on border.  Israel waited 3 weeks from May 15 for international action to stop the escalation.  On June 5th, war broke out.

In this Six Day War, Israel destroyed the armies massed along the frontiers, threatening vital centers of life.  Cease fire lines were then established along the Suez Canal, Jordan River and Golan Heights.  The Straits of Tiran, closed by Egypt, were opened. Jerusalem was re-united!
Still, France wanted the following to happen:

  • Security arrangements preserving the sovereignty of the Palestinian State and guaranteeing the security of Israel;
  • A fair, equitable and negotiated solution to the refugee problem;
  • An arrangement making Jerusalem the capital of both States.

1920 Mandated Palestine of 120,466 sq km. or 46,512.1826 sq miles.   .

There never has been a nation of Palestine.
Today, Syria has....... 186,000 sq km.or 71,498 sq mi
Iraq has.......             440,000 or         169,235 sq mi..
Iran has.......          1,648,000 or         636,313 sq mi.
Saudi Arabia has... 2,150,000 or         864,869 sq mi.
Egypt has............. 1,000,000 or         386,874 sq mi.
Of the Middle East's 22 Arab-Moslem countries, these 5 states total 5,424,000 sq. km.
Israel has                    27,000 or           10,424.758 sq mi including West Bank-Judea and Samaria

Jordan........................91,000  originally Trans-Jordan (East Bank)
Mandated Palestine  118,000  This is the historic land of Israel

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was awarded this illegitimacy by being fabricated in 1922 by the British colonial power who perfidiously betrayed their mandate from  the League of Nations.  They took away from  the Jewish Nation  77% of its territory.  The League of Nations voted in 1922 unanimously to set up a national home for the Jews in the land of Israel.  They set aside an area of 45,560 square miles for this purpose on both banks of the river Jordan.  Today we know that the West Bank, which in reality is the original home of Israel, which we Jews call Judea and Samaria.  Judea was the southern part of Israel up to the time of King Solomon.  When he died, the southern part became independent by the tribe of Judah, and maintained Jerusalem as their capital.  The tribe of Judah are the only tribe to survive the major attack of Babylon in 597 BCE and again in 586 BCE by Nebuchadnezzar who led Jewish captives away to Babylon.

The mandate was in Britain's hands and they went ahead and lopped off 3/4 of the area of the land, 34,745 square miles which was the entire East Bank of the river Jordan.  They then gave it to Emir Abdullah, son of the Sherif of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.  In this huge chunk of land lived 300,000 Beduin Arabs which he also inherited.

The Jewish people were left with only 10,891 square miles on the West Bank of the river.  What had happened to their future National Home!  They were left with one quarter of it.  At the same time, the British reduced the number of Jewish immigrants needing to come in, and instead allowed Arabs and any non-Arab Moslems from all parts of the Middle East to enter.

They came, being attracted to this land of Falastin's (Palestine) prosperity that occurred because of Jewish settlement.    Their surnames told where they came from:  Today, they say they are "Palestinians."
Masri (Egyptian)
Mugrabi (Moroccan)
Turki (Turkish)
Ajami (Persian-Iran)
Haurani (Syrian)
Halabi (Aleppan-city in Syria originally with large Jewish population)

Hindi (Indian)  are but some examples.
Circassian Moslems and Armenian Christians didn't try to assimilate into the local Palestinian society.

President Warren Gamaliel Harding: Ohio Republican
b: November 2, 1865 d: August 2, 1923
 1921 to 1923,
29th President of USA
Britain was awarded this mandate because in 1917 they came up with the idea of the establishment of a national home in the famous document known as the Balfour Declaration.  The USA Congress endorsed the League's decision on September 21, 1922 in both its Houses and in identical terms.  By doing this, they were also committed to this project which was signed by President Warren Gamliel Harding, making the USA to have its own Balfour Declaration.

Now we know that Jordan took the Judea and Samaria (West Bank) in 1948 when after the UN accepted Israel as a state since the 30 year mandate had finally ended, Israel was attacked by all its neighbors in a War.  It wasn't until Jordan, among many others had attacked again in 1967 and Israel again won the war!  In doing so, they gained back this West Bank of the Jordan River's land that was in the original documents of become the Jewish National Home.  Britain's lie has been that they parted with the land in the name of "peace."  In reality, the peace involved was no more than a ceasefire between one war and the next, between one terrorist outrage and the next."

Jews who were born in the Middle East now make up the majority of the population of the state of Israel.  Some of those born in Israel, called Sabras, are direct descendants of the original Jewish population of the region, which never abandoned the Middle East, and lived here without a break for over 4,000 years.  They have lived in the Middle East longer than any other population group.  They lived here 25 centuries before Islam was created by Mohammad in  about 600 CE, and 20 centuries before Christianity was created.  It was their ancestors who lived here and fashioned a culture here, from which 2 world religions later sprung.

They built up this state along with their brothers who came home to the land of Israel from Europe and countries of the West where they had been waiting since 70 CE to return.  The League of Nations had set aside 45,560 square miles called Palestine for this purpose on both banks of the river Jordan.  Obama offered only 8,000 to be Israel when Britain had left 10,424,758 square miles for the Jews.

Clashes continued along the borders.  Arab terrorist organization, the fidayun, attacked and were supported by their Arab governments, made forays into Israel, engaging in acts of terrorism and sabotage.

One can see that a rose by any other name is still a rose.  Fatah is not as peaceful as they try to make out that they are, and Hamas, who controls all of Gaza now, in the name of peace, is more belligerent than Fatah!  They intend to put an end to Israel as their charter states.  Fatah has teemed up with them to create some sort of government that continues to receive funding from the other Arab states and other leftist organizations.  They have brought nothing but havoc onto Israel since the beginning, and have been used as pawns by the other Arabs to be this way.  They have brain-washed their children so badly against Israel that it will now take that whole generation to die out before it's possible to expect them to live in peace with anyone.  Their children are already a destroyed people, just like ISIS children have been brought up.

All the Arab League countries together have 485 times more territory than Israel including what was "occupied" in 1967.  They have 1.3 times more territory than the entire continent of Europe, and 1.5 times more than the USA.   USA Secretary of State James Baker called Israel's 10,891 sq mi "Greater Israel".  The countries of the Arab League have 5,290,888 sq miles.  It looks like the continued story of David and Goliath, and we're not ever mentioning Iran who is also in the picture arming these people who have attacked Israel.

The world needs to be reminded that the area of the Jewish National Home was GRANTED to the Jewish people by universal law.  Not only that, but it was GRANTED  first through Moses by G-d.  It's the very same land the League of Nations allocated in a decision whose legal validity still stands.  Now nations have reneged by saying that Israel should hand over the territory of Judea and Samaria (West Bank) to Palestinians for another state. Jews are also living in Judea and Samaria, but if it becomes "Palestine," they will be forced out as "Palestine" is to be without any Jews.  Now Jews have been forced out of many countries including England from 1290 to 1655 because they didn't want Jews living in their land.  They were forced out of Spain in 1492, but this land of Judea and Samaria belongs to Israel!  Israel was created as the Jewish National Home for this very reason!

Palestine would be number 22 in the Arab League, and to this group, 1 Jewish state is 1 too many.  The Arabs would control 5,290,888 sq mi, and Israel would control 8,000 sq mi.  We have international terror coming from Iraq  who had 31,234,000 people , Libya  with their 6,173,579 and Syria with 22,505,000, all in 2011, though Syria certainly has had a stream of refugees leaving their country.  All this, though the UN only today gets concerned if Israel builds in their land gained by blood and sweat defending themselves in 1967's war.

This piece being left to the Jews is a mere 1/26th of the size of the state of TEXAS!  7.7 million people are living here now.   Texas, as of 2014, had a population of 26.96 million.

If it comes to this, to have your enemy live right next door to you, I feel they should earn this right.  Let THEM show this by living in peace for the next 30 years without starting any terrorist activities or intefadas or war on Israel.  Let them PROVE they can be good neighbors and not join up with ISIS in any way. Let them prove it by dissolving Hamas and tearing up their charter.  What's Israel expected to deal with; 2 entities of "Palestinian" Arabs?

So far, Egypt has been doing this, and since 1973's Yom Kippur War was over, so has Jordan.  But my gosh, doing hand over all the rights the UN has given them or Mitterand or Obama or the Pope or any organization who have fallen for these sheiks of Araby.  It's giving into the bullies of the world and only acts to egg them onto taking more and more.  AND that includes shutting up about kicking out Jews from Judea and Samaria.  Israel has 1.7 million Arabs in their population.  If Israel has done this, why can't the Arabs following Fatah allow these Jews to stay?

Palestine.  It was the Greeks who coined the term Palestina defining the coastal strip where the Philistines had once lived.  The Romans occupied Judea and used therm after burning Jerusalem and slaughtering much of the population.  They later, in 132, fought against a Jewish general who took it back and held Jerusalem for 3 years by the name of Bar Kochba, but the general was finally killed in 135.  In anger, they renamed the land as they generally did with places won, and named it for the Jews' former enemy.  There was no Palestine nation, or a Jordan nation, either, only the river Jordan.  By the 1st World War, the land had belonged to the Ottoman Empire for the past 400 years, and it was but a province of Syria.

Creating a Palestine, the UN will be sanctioning a state that was named for an Asian Minor and Greek pagan people-the Philistines, who died out 30 centuries ago leaving no heritage whatsoever.  They will be siding against Israel, a nation born of a rich monotheistic culture, who has been there for 4,000 years.

Hillary Clinton
Donald Trump
Now the USA has to make a choice pretty soon as to who they will have as the next president.  How much more will they turn against Israel or will the president be one who will stand with Israel?  Each, Hillary and Donald say they will support Israel.  Actions speak much louder than words.  So does past history.  Will Americans study this issue or do they just pick
favorites like a sports team?

Libya's Relationship With Israel

Nadene Goldfoot

Libya, whose name in Hebrew is ironically "Love-Luv", did not have love for Israel in its beginning or now. The Greek name is based on the ethnonym Libu (Ancient GreekΛίβυες LíbuesLatinLibyes). Later, the name appeared in the Hebrew language, written in the Bible  as Lehabim and Lubim, indicating the ethnic population and the geographic territory as well. In Hebrew, the B and V are the same letter.  To the Egyptians,  "it was the lands of the spirits."    It is mentioned in the Bible in connection with the Egyptian levies who fought against Judah, the southern part of Israel that separated from Israel when King Solomon died in 920 BCE.  Ramesses had fought the Libyans 2 times.  Pharaoh Shishak made an attack on Judah.  The Latin name Libya (from Greek ΛιβύηLibyē) referred to the region west of the Nile generally corresponding to the modern Maghreb. Its people were ancestors of the modern Berbers.   In the Hellenistic period, the Berbers were known as Libyans, a Greek term for the inhabitants of the Maghreb. Their lands were called "Libya" and extended from modern Morocco to the western borders of ancient Egypt. Modern Egypt contains the Siwa Oasis, which was part of ancient Libya. Siwi, a Berber language, is still spoken in the area.

By plane, the distance from Benghazi, Libya on the coast  to Jerusalem is 886.387 miles.  By land it is 1,258.505 miles.

We find it mentioned again in the Talmud because of its agricultural product.

Jews lived in the area of Libya from pre-Roman times from about 300 BCE.  The name, Libya, included Cyrenaica and Tripolitania.   Tripolitania was Ottoman Tripolitania, the coastal region of what is today Libya having been ruled by the Ottoman Empire from 1551 to 1911, as the Eyalet of Tripolitania.  "The Phoenicians were the first to establish trading posts in Libya. By the 5th century BC, the greatest of the Phoenician colonies, Carthage, had extended its hegemony across much of North Africa, where a distinctive civilization, known as Punic, came into being.

In 630 BC, the Ancient Greeks colonized Eastern Libya and founded the city of Cyrene.  Within 200 years, four more important Greek cities were established in the area that became known as Cyrenaica.    In 525 BC the Persian army of Cambyses II overran Cyrenaica, which for the next two centuries remained under Persian or Egyptian rule. Alexander the Great, beloved by Jews,  was greeted by the Greeks when he entered Cyrenaica in 331 BC, and Eastern Libya again fell under the control of the Greeks, this time as part of the Ptolemaic Kingdom."  Cyrenaica was overcome by the Muslims in 647 CE as Mohammad died in 632 and Islam spread throughout the world.

"After a successful invasion of Tripoli by Habsburg Spain in 1510,  and its handover to the Knights of St. John, the Ottoman admiral Sinan Pasha took control of Libya in 1551.  The Siege of Tripoli in 1551 allowed the Ottomans to capture the city from the Knights of St. John, so it went from Christian to Muslim hands.  After the Italo-Turkish War (1911–1912), Italy simultaneously turned the three regions into colonies. From 1912 to 1927, the territory of Libya was known as Italian North Africa. From 1927 to 1934, the territory was split into two colonies, Italian Cyrenaica andItalian Tripolitania, run by Italian governors. Some 150,000 Italians settled in Libya, constituting roughly 20% of the total population."

Muammar Gadddafi, born June 7, 1942, was the youngest child
born into a peasant family and grew up in the desert region of Sirte.
 He
died October 20, 2011
shot in head and stomach at age 69.

In skipping to 1951, when Libya became independent and had a king, "Muammar Gaddafi gained power in a 1969 coup and was "leader of the revolution" until his overthrow in 2011.  He was a madman.  However, "A gathering of more than 200 African kings and traditional rulers, meeting on 27 August 2008 in the Libyan town of Benghazi, conferred on Colonel Gaddafi the title "King of Kings of Africa". France was the first to recognize these rebels.  "Gaddafi was known for backing a number of leaders viewed as anathema to Westernization and political liberalism, including Ugandan President Idi Amin, Central African Emperor Jean-Bédel Bokassa, Ethiopian strongman Haile Mariam Mengistu,  Liberian President Charles Taylor,  and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević."

"When Col. Qaddafi came to power in 1969, all Jewish property was confiscated and all debts to Jews cancelled. In 1999, the synagogue in Tripoli was was renovated, however, it was not reopened.
The last Jew living in Libya, Esmeralda Meghnagi, died in February 2002. This marked the end of one of the world's oldest Jewish communities, which traced its origins to the 3rd century B.C.E."

And all the time he was cruel to the Jews, he knew he had a Jewish mother! " Nouri Mismari, an official in Libya who served Ghaddafi at his side,  portrayed his former boss as a sadistic, ruthless and power-hungry leader.   Gaddafi  would have anyone killed if they revealed this secret.  Mismari said that all who knew the truth about the leader’s mother were liquidated." Salih Bu Farwa, a loyal officer in the army,  had received information from the Libyan ambassador to Italy, Ammar Dhu, documenting Gaddafi’s mother’s Jewishness.  Dhu himself was subsequently assassinated in Italy, along with the embassy’s press secretary."  Salih's death was masked as a hunting accident.  "Nuri al-Samara told the daily Al-Hayat that Gaddafi’s mother was Jewish,  and the Israeli daily Maariv reported on its NRG news website.  At 18 she married a Muslim man and converted, according to reports."
" In 1942, the Italian Fascist authorities set up forced labor camps south of Tripoli for the Jews, including Giado (about 3,000 Jews) and Gharyan, Jeren, and Tigrinna. In Giado some 500 Jews died of weakness, hunger, and disease. In 1942, Jews who were not in the concentration camps were heavily restricted in
their economic activity and all men between 18 and 45 years were drafted for forced labor. In August 1942, Jews from Tripolitania were interned in a concentration camp at Sidi Azaz. "A savage pogrom in Tripoli on November 5, 1945, killed more than 140 Jews and wounded hundreds more. Almost every synagogue was looted. In June 1948, rioters murdered another 12 Jews and destroyed 280 Jewish homes.."    In the three years after November 1945, more than 140 Jews were murdered, and hundreds more wounded, in a series of pogroms.  By 1948, about 38,000 Jews remained in the country. Upon Libya's independence in 1951, most of the Jewish community emigrated and went to Israel."   What Gaddafi had said about Israel was, "Israel is a colonialist-imperialist phenomenon. There is no such thing as an Israeli people. Before 1948, world geography knew of no state such as Israel. Israel is the result of an invasion, of aggression.”

Today Tripoli is the capital and has the largest population of 1,250,000.  The 2nd largest populated city is Benghazi with 700,000, the city in 2012 that the USA lost its ambassador and aides,  "US Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and Sean Smith; CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty; and approx. 100 Libyan attackers.  4 Americans and 7 Libyans  were injured.     The population today is 6,202 million Arabs. "About 97% of the population in Libya are Muslims, most of whom belong to the Sunni branch.   Small numbers of Ibadi MuslimsSufis and Ahmadis also live in the country."   Israel has 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Arabs.

End of 1967 War and accidentally gaining back Jerusalem, dancing the Hora in joy!
The 6 Day War occurred in 1967 when all the neighboring countries attacked Israel.  Of course, Libyans had to demonstrate against the 6,000 Jews living in with them who had remained.  These Jews left shortly thereafter, as soon as possible with this reminder of hatred, so different from "Love.".

"Gaddafi also became a strong supporter of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which ultimately harmed Libya's relations with Egypt when in 1979 Egypt pursued a peace agreement with Israel. As Libya's relations with Egypt worsened, Gaddafi sought closer relations with the Soviet Union. Libya became the first country outside the Soviet bloc to receive the supersonic MiG-25 combat fighters, but Soviet-Libyan relations remained relatively distant. Gaddafi also sought to increase Libyan influence, especially in states with an Islamic population, by calling for the creation of a Saharan Islamic state and supporting anti-government forces in sub-Saharan Africa."  This was a very close plan similar to ISIS in creating a caliphate. " By the mid-1980s, he was widely regarded in the West as the principal financier of international terrorism. Reportedly, Gaddafi was a major financier of the “Black September Movement” which perpetrated the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics."

Lt. Col Yonatan Netanyahu
born: March 13, 1946, died:  July 4, 1976 at age 30 in Entebbe.
We can't forget Israel's Operation Entebbe when a jet plane left Tel Aviv's airport for Paris with a stop in Athens.  What happened was it was diverted to Benghazi, Libya by the highjackers, no doubt with Gaddafi's knowledge and blessing.  " The highjackers were two Palestinians from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – External Operations (PFLP-EO), and by two Germans, Wilfried Böse and Brigitte Kuhlmann, from the German Revolutionary Cells. The hijackers diverted the flight to Benghazi, Libya. There it was held on the ground for seven hours for refuelling.  During that time the hijackers released British-born Israeli citizen Patricia Martell who pretended to have a miscarriage.  The plane left Benghazi, and at 3:15 pm on the 28th, more than 24 hours after the flight's original departure, it arrived at Entebbe Airportin Uganda.  and then went on to the Entebbe, Uganda airport where the dictator, Idi Amin reigned, a man as nutty as Gaddafi.  " After moving all hostages from the aircraft to a disused airport building, the hijackers separated all Israelis and several non-Israeli Jews from the larger group and forced them into a separate room.   Over the following two days, 148 non-Israeli hostages were released and flown out to Paris.   94, mainly Israeli, passengers along with the 12-member Air France crew, remained as hostages and were threatened with death."  Mossad heard about it.  "The hijackers threatened to kill the hostages if their prisoner release demands were not met. This threat led to the planning of the rescue operation. These plans included preparation for armed resistance from Ugandan military troops.  The operation took place at night. Israeli transport planes carried 100 commandos over 2,500 miles (4,000 km) to Uganda for the rescue operation. The operation, which took a week of planning, lasted 90 minutes. 102 hostages were rescued. Five Israeli commandos were wounded and one, the unit commander, Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu, was killed, brother of today's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Now, the USA is striking sites from the air in Libya who are harboring and protecting ISIS.  The coastal city hit was Sirte.  Tripoli and Benghazi also lie on the coast as well.  "The U.S. airstrikes came at the request of the Libyan Government of National Accord, or GNA, to support forces trying to quash ISIS in its primary stronghold in Libya, Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said. The GNA is Libya's U.N.-backed unity government."

Evidently NATO took out Gaddafi as found in Hillary's email.  "One of the over 3,000 new Hillary Clinton emails released by the State Department on New Year’s Eve, contain damning evidence of Western nations using NATO as a tool to topple Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi.

Ezekiel 30: 5:  Cush, Put, Lud and all the people of mixed blood, and Cub and the inhabitants of Egypt's allied lands will fall with them by the sword.  Or "Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.  Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia.—Ethiopia and Egypt were closely connected, and during much of their history were often under one government. Ethiopian soldiers served in great numbers in the Egyptian armies. Libya and Lydia are an unfortunate substitution for the original terms, Phut and Lud, which are preserved in Ezekiel 27:10, where see Note. They are there mentioned as furnishing mercenaries to the Tyrian army; and it is known historically that they supplied them to a still greater extent to the Egyptian army."
