The Ninety Degree Turn of the Democrat Party

Does anyone remember the following Democratic Senators ?  
                                                     

                                b: February 4, 1942 in Connecticut       

                                       Known as Joe Lieberman
 Joseph Isador Lieberman was senator from 1989 to 2013, so you should
remember him.  He was also a vice president nominee.  "In 1994, Lieberman made history by winning by the largest landslide ever in a Connecticut Senate race, drawing 67 percent of the vote and beating his opponent by more than 350,000 votes. Like Bill Clinton and Dick Gephardt, Lieberman served as chair of the Democratic Leadership Council from 1995–2001. In 1998, Lieberman was the first prominent Democrat to publicly challenge Clinton for the judgment exercised in his affair with Monica Lewinsky.However, he voted against removing Clinton from office by impeachment."  He's also the first Jewish candidate for vice president, and happens to be of the modern Orthodox persuasion.                                      
                                                      
Today, many Democrats are for impeaching President Trump and for what?  What has he done to deserve such animosity but win the race against Hillary Clinton who Democrats thought was a shoe-in?  He's modern enough to communicate with tweeting.  That's not reason for impeachment.

Samuel Augustus Nunn Jr. was an Eagle Scout.  "Overall, Nunn was a moderate-to-conservative Democrat who often broke with his party on a host of social and economic issues. He opposed the budget bill of 1993, which included provisions to raise taxes in order to reduce the budget deficit. He neither supported nor opposed Hillary Clinton's attempt to establish universal health care, though he spoke out very strongly against the proposed insurance mandate."

remembered for his National Environmental Policy Act, higher military spending,
against Russia, civil rights, etc. etc.

Daniel Patrick Moynihan who was in politics from the 50s to the 70s?  He is remembered for his "War on Poverty."  

They were as different as can be in their issues in running the Democrat Party from today's 23 want-to-be presidential candidates .  Today's positions support the following issues;

1  Illegal immigrants receiving  expanding government-run insurance healthcare
2.  Border system changed to be open with Mexico and Canada, entering freely
3. College tuition dropped;  to be free like grade, junior high and high school 
4. Student debt forgiveness, of course

5. Reparations to Blacks for slavery  
      ....personal comment:
 One could think of the Civil War as making reparations that President Abraham Lincoln took, a horrid war where we lost more. "The Civil War was America's bloodiest and most divisive conflict, pitting the Union Army against the Confederate States of America. The war resulted in the deaths of more than 620,000 people, with millions more injured and the South left in ruins."  This occurred in days when the world had been accepting slavery as a way of economic life.   It took a bloody war to stop the process.   

6. Income redistribution increased
7. Monthly incomes guaranteed.  

Some even were promoting the idea that the holding facilities for these Mexican illegal immigrants were just like past Nazi concentration camps.  That went too far for Larry Penner of Great Neck, NY and myself as well as it should have for other American Jews.  The present USA government is not
planning on killing these immigrants as the Nazis were doing.  6 million Jews, some of which were our ancestors, certainly didn't voluntarily enter those Nazi concentration camps, either.  They didn't offer to dress themselves in rags, be starved to death, perform voluntary slave labor, and agree to be gassed to death in crematoriums.   
                                                          

The Mexican immigrants illegally forcing themselves upon our borders know they were coming in illegally and most likely were fed a lot of directions on how to do it from some source;  maybe the Russians.  What better way to cause havoc on this country than a Russian invasion?  Or maybe it's China causing them to enter like the Genghis Khan invaders so long ago?  The violent and murderous gangs of Mexico who deal in drugs certainly will profit from the Mexicans leaving;  they can take over their villages and plant more poppies.  

Most illegals entering all speak Spanish, but may also be speaking  Zapotec, Nahuati, Arabic, Mixtec, Purepecha, English, Tzeltal, German, French, Chinese, Italian and other dialects spoken depending on the regions they are coming from in Mexico.  Chances are that very few speak English, though.  That's why colleges have a department to teach English to immigrants.  

They've been entering  illegally for some time now, but not on this grand scale of thousands at a crack.  I know, I've been an English teacher in a college and have been confronted, back in the early 90s with the question from one of my students, "What would you do if you could not find work and support your family?"  Most of my students were family oriented, wonderful people in eastern Oregon.  They were making the change from being field workers in the potato and beets industry to being truck drivers and cattle feeders using company computers.  Women were also shifting away from field work and into other positions as well, but not to the depth that men were doing.  That's when they were entering in dribs and drabs.  

Like Egypt with President Morsi who allowed so many immigrants in from Syria in hoping they would be future voters for him, you can be sure that these immigrants would be voters for the Democrats and not Republicans.  It's a way of tipping the scale.

What were these many Democrat candidates not discussing that they should?

1. The $22 trillion dollar national debt-the whys and hows of reducing it
2. Social Security's Medicare and Medicaid's future and its facing insolvency
3. Defense and NATO allies'need to pay up their fair share for our mutual defense and not be the only ones paying the bill-a stand taken by Trump.
4. China's religious persecution using indoctrination camps for people of unapproved religion and Muslim countries persecution of other religions by such leaders as Qaradawi in Qatar and others with fatwas on Jews.  
5. Life, all life matters in the USA, not just Democrats. All races matter.  We do not give homage to one over the other.  To Life!!!  Is this being taught in homes and in schools?  

There were so many running that they had to hold two" separate debates"-

 "President Donald Trump (R) filed for re-election on January 20, 2017, the day of his inauguration. Sixteen U.S. presidents—approximately one-third—have won two consecutive elections. George H.W. Bush (R) was the last president to lose his re-election campaign in 1992."  President Donald Trump is our 45th president, following the two terms of Barack Hussein Obama II who presided from 2009 to 2016.  This means that less than half of our presidents have served two terms.  

The 23 Democrat candidates are running against President Donald Trump and Bill Weld a former governor of Massachusetts.

Democrats today are not being led by the issues and values of these four previous Democratic leaders.  They've changed.  They've weakened following juniors with radical ideas or not standing up to them. They don't even seem to be the proud Americans anymore, doting on past errors instead of working on values that made America.   They haven't taken on Republican values, either.  I don't recognize them anymore. 

 I used to be one of them, leading my students into the flag salute every single day and singing our national anthem and in the 4th grade, teaching our Oregon history as well.  This is the country that by hook or by crook, did take Jews in when they had nowhere else to go, refused for lack of baptismal papers and  because of being Jewish.  Though strings were attached in 1939, some Jews were able to make it out of Europe and find freedom here.

Dennis Prager Agrees With My Position About Trump

Dennis Prager is an Orthodox Jew who spent time worrying about the Soviet Jews.  "In 1969, while he was studying in England, he was recruited by a Jewish group to travel to the Soviet Union to interview Jews about their life there. When he returned the next year, he was in demand as a speaker on repression of Soviet Jews; he earned enough from lectures to travel, and visited around sixty countries. He became the national spokesman for the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry."  

 He teaches with his own videos, the PragerU videos.  One such is titled, 
"The Charlottesville Lie"   that proves that Trump never said the Nazis were fine 
people.  

I am so happy to report that I have found someone else, this  well-known man who is in agreement with me to be defending our present president, Donald Trump.  I come from a family quite similar to a few others of this historic period; father was Jewish and mother was Protestant.  My mother converted to Judaism and I was raised Jewish in Oregon, but that means that I had relatives of both persuasions and loved them all dearly.  They were all Democrats, so they had that in common.  Most Jews then were because of WWII and Franklin Delano Roosevelt being a Democrat.  They acknowledged Roosevelt as their savior in letting us be admitted into the USA at a perilous time.

 Fast forward to 1948 when Israel was finally reestablished after praying for the day after 2,000 years, and I was 13 years old then.  I spent my high school years feeling a little bit of prejudice for being Jewish.  Time marches on and here I am, fully aware and even more so by making aliyah to Israel in 1980  with my Brooklyn-born Floridian Jewish husband and finally really leaving our Conservative-Jewish life and stepping into the Orthodox in Safed, Israel.  We stayed over 5 years, and I learned much there. 

Needless to say, I had become very sensitive to remarks about Israel that were inflammatory.  I had come to the point of even starting my "Israel" blog, the first of 3, and  tried to make my family aware of what was happening there.  This led to my 2nd one, jewishfactsfromportland and finally my 3rd, jewishbubba.  At my more elderly age, I had lots to say and after a life of teaching, wanted to teach people about what was going on.  The facts were involving the stand Republicans and Democrats had been taking, and with Obama a president who had strings attached to the Muslim persuasion of family,  friends, and decisions.   I was really paying attention all the time.  I was in the position to do this, like many were not; too busy with other things.  I was devoted to it and still am.
                                                      

I would not be surprised if the Jewish population of the USA, which is about 2%, is at least 85% Democrats.  So my position is that of someone in the 2% category being outside of the political agreement of them and have joined the 15% of 2% of the people.   We have followed what the country has been using to attack Trump, who won the election like all other previous presidents have done.  The difference of late was that he was not an insider politician.  He came from the business force of New York as a builder of hotels with an angst against Obama, feeling that he may not even had been a proper citizen of the USA being his mother had been outside the country.  Her husband was not an American citizen.

Sounds like he was hard to handle even then.  

He hadn't really looked into it to find that an American citizen living outside the USA and gave birth to a child still has produced another American citizen.  Her citizenship does this for the baby.  Being a well known gadabout in nightclubs and such being one of the very wealthy Americans, he gained a lot of publicity about his stand, even paying someone to find his birth certificate.  So he had established a poor reputation when he stepped into the political arena.  But being in business, he had sharpened skills that most politicians hadn't, though he didn't have those political skills now and was in an arena where he needed them. One of those skills was in keeping his mouth and his fingers still.  We all know what Donald is thinking about things moment by moment  with his twittering.  He's the most open of all our presidents, too open for those who are politicians, as they haven't been.  They have tried to create a facade for themselves that is electable.  
                                                     
Democrats have been taken by such surprise, that they suffered a depression that manifested itself into such hatred that is quite shocking as they have tried to bump Trump out of office. and continue to try, even after several years of being in office.   In the meantime, ever since the very moment Trump was deemed president, he has been a slave to the job and has produced outstanding work.  Since the audio-visual world has stuck by the Democrats, he was only receiving negative reports, so he has had to toot his own horn about his work, and that too, has been damned by the press who are suffering in a climate of TV news and being faced with losing readers.  
                                                         

Along comes one of the radio hosts who is on Trump's side, and to my surprise, comes from an Orthodox Jewish home.  Dennis Prager, born August 2, 1948 on my brother's birthday, is also a writer, a far better one than I,  6'4" tall, is in total agreement with me or I with him, and that is most pleasing.  He's one that has been paying attention, not only to Israel but to events in politics.  He's on the radio and TV.  

His background is superior, educated in a New York Yeshiva in Flatbush, Brooklyn and continuing in England.  He even majored in history of the Middle East.  Like me, he originally was a solid Democrat.  We both supported Jimmy Carter in 1976, and I have lived to regret it after reading what he has written since then about Israel, which in a way has turned me against a certain lack of Democratic values.  To me, he was a real disappointment.

What caught my eye today was Dennis Prager's article published in The Jewish Press Friday, August 9, 2019, entitled, AMERICA IS DROWNING IN LIES ABOUT TRUMP and I agree with it all.

Dennis has chutzpa where I am lacking.  He can tell it like it is.  For instance, his first line starts with,
"The president of the United States, Donald Trump, never said there were "fine" Nazis or Klu Klux Klansmen."  That is a preposterous assumption!   What happens is that in the press's frantic search for ammunition, they can mis-quote and mis-understand on purpose to lead readers into a position of feelings against this man, and they do it very skillfully.  I have argued with people about this very thing.  In watching a newscast on TV, I see and hear one thing, then read later where it was all misconstrued, thinking, how can they do this?   Dennis felt that this one report was one of the two worst against him.

The other was that he was a racist.  Both of us feel this is ridiculous.  The man's daughter, whom he loves most dearly, has married a modern Orthodox man and has converted.  Their children are Jewish.  Trump loves them all.  He's not about to put them along with other Jews in jeopardy because of their religion.  He now has a connection to Jewish values.  I just hope that the Jews of the USA haven't forgotten them!  Too many are in the news for terrible reasons lately, a time of growing anti-Semitism again in the USA.  It's happening all over the world again, not just the USA.  It's been happening big time in England, for one example.

Trump will go down in history being the president who not only said he would move the American embassy to Jerusalem, actually did it against all the static.  Remember that Truman also went against the popular static of not recognizing Israel in 1948!  Obama had promised and didn't follow through.  So did the George W. Bush.  So did Bill Clinton.  This goes back to promises made and broken since 1993 by Bush.  Trump kept his promise in a climate even worse than the previous presidents were in.

Palestine Authority Initiated Clashes on Temple Mount : Denying Jewish History

"A guide to the Temple Mount published in 1925 by the Supreme Moslem Council of Mandate Palestine declares that its "identity with Solomon's Temple is beyond dispute." This senior Muslim authority repeated this confirmation of Jewish and Christian traditions in 1950 in a new guide, when Jerusalem and the Temple Mount were then under Jordanian rule. Despite these repeated affirmations by the top Muslim authority of the land, the Palestinian Authority is constantly attempting to rewrite even Muslim tradition, by denying the Jewish nature of the Temple Mount.  Accordingly, it refers to visits by Jews to this holy site as "invasions" and calls on Palestinians and the International community to defend the site and prevent its "Judaization." The PA deceptively refers to the entire Temple Mount as the "Al Aqsa Mosque", even though the actual mosque sits on a relatively small area in the south-western corner of the mount."

After Romans burned down Our 2nd Temple in 70 CE, they
built a Roman Temple on the site.  Since the Muslim Period,
a mosque has stood there.

"On Sunday, Israel marked the 9th day of the Jewish month of Av. According to Jewish tradition, on that day both the first and second Temples were destroyed. The same day marked the start of the Moslem Eid Al-Adha [Feast of the Sacrifice]" 

                                                        

The Jewish remembrance is called Tisha B'Av.  A number of disasters in Jewish history occurred, primarily the destruction of both Solomon's Temple by the Neo-Babylonian Empire and the Second Temple by the Roman Empire in Jerusalem.  It is the saddest day to remember in our extended history.  

"While some sources have blamed the Sunday clashes on the Jordanians, Palestinian Media Watch can show that it was the PA who was most instrumental in instigating the clashes and ensuing violence."  The Palestinian Authority manages to back up Hamas, their fighting unit, in more subtle ways other that out and out clashes by supplying the arms to do it and such.  

They actually prevented Jews from entering the Mount on a Jewish holiday.  Clashes happened, of course.

A Look Into Egypt's Anti-Semitic TV Shows-Using 10th Century Beliefs

Hard to believe, but Egypt has an actual anti-Semitic TV show going on that is using the ancient belief system of the Christian Europeans about Jews.  Evidently they haven't advanced in their thinking along with the centuries.  
                                                                       

Their Dr. Fouad M. AbdelWahed, an Egyptian professor of Hebrew at King Saud University,  broadcasted that that some Jews eat matzah on Passover that contain human blood .  This was said in an episode of "Blue Line," an anti-Semitic TV show.  The only update on what he said was that in earlier centuries anti-Semites included it was blood of Christian children that Jews used.  However, he said that certain Jews eat matzos with donated blood, a language professor now babbling false accusations of ancient Christians.   

He added that " and that the practice, which he said is today limited to “extremist” haredi Jews, was once widespread among Jews. Abdel Wahed also said that the consumption of this matzah has negative effects on one’s health. (heh, heh, Wahed, that's why we also eat charoses during Passover.  It's a mixture of apples, nuts and honey mixed with a tablespoon of red kosher wine.  It's very healthy and is the fiber we need when eating matzos.  )  

The show aired on Channel 2 TV (Egypt).  As an aside, the name of this show is so much like one out of England, The Thin Blue Line, which looks like a humorous program. One can even watch this one in the USA.   It is not humorous to accuse Jews of putting blood in their matzos!  Can't Egyptian anti-Semites think of anything original?

No matzo has ever had blood in it, nor any other foods eaten by Jews.  

Such a villainous libelous Christian accusation started in medieval Europe who still believe that Jews caused Jesus to be crucified, ignoring that this was a Roman execution method used on thousands and thousands of young Jewish men of that period.  In their fury during Easter, which coincides with Passover, the Jewish holiday of Jews being saved from their 400 year servitude in Egypt by Moses and are preparing to leave Egypt, they accuse yearly that Jews must have Christian blood in their matzos, the flat bread made hastily by the Jews leaving Egypt.  

Such an accusation started with the writing of General Josephus, the Jewish Roman prisoner who kept his life by pleasing the Romans with his writing of their history.  "In the polemic of Josephus against the Alexandrian grammarian Apion ("Contra Ap.," ed. Niese, ii. 8, § 95), the latter is charged with having accused the Jews of annually fattening a Greek in the Temple, killing him, offering his body as a sacrifice, eating of his internal organs, and swearing an oath of enmity against all Greeks (according to the ancient Latin translation."

The first case in which Jews were actually accused of having killed a Christian child for ritual purposes was that of St. William of Norwich in 1144.  According to present information, the blood accusation against the Jews dates from the middle of the thirteenth century. The first literary reference to it is made about this time in the following passage from the writing, "Bonum Universale de Apibus," ii. 29, § 23, by Thomas of Cantimpré (a monastery near Cambray): "It is quite certain that the Jews of every province annually decide by lot which congregation or city is to send Christian blood to the other congregations." 
                                                      

What is so infuriating to Jews is that if anyone had half a mind, they would realize or know that Jews do not eat or drink blood.  In Deuteronomy 12:23 it says:  Only be strong not to eat the blood-for the blood, it is the life-and you shall not eat the life with the meat.  The life with the meat, ie,you may not eat meat that was torn from a living animal, either.  
                                                    
 It's a no-no in their religion to the extent that they do not eat any of the popular cuts of any meat such as T-Bone steaks for fear of getting any blood in their bodies.  They are only allowed certain cuts of meat-away from arteries carrying the blood, the tough cuts.  They salt the meat in water that they are about to eat to remove blood.  This goes for any of the animals they are allowed by Moses to eat, so they are finicky about the animal, the one that must kill the animal as well, and about the blood they must not consume.  Then to think that people would believe they would drain blood from a human to put in their holy matzos is unthinkable!  

During Passover, for 8 days Jews do not eat bread, but matzos instead to remember the flight from Egypt and why they were leaving.  They are careful to eat only Pasadik foods, certified by the laws of Kashrut. and that means giving up some everyday foods as well. Just remember, we do not eat blood, for we believe that blood contains the soul of the human or animal.  
                                                       

 You won't find many Jews eating raw hamburger -steak tartare, like some of the general public of many countries, because they would be consuming blood.
Steak tartare is a meat dish made from raw ground beef or horsemeat. It is usually served with onions, capers, pepper and Worcestershire sauce, and other seasonings, often presented to the diner separately, to be added to taste.  Who would eat such food that is revolting to me? 

  Haredi Jews, the ones the professor says eats blood in matzos, are the Jews who would die first before ever doing such a thing.  They are the ones most into following the letter of the law of Moses, and especially in the food area.  These are the ultimate of the orthodox Jew.  In fact, they of all the Jews of the world found it hard to accept the creation of Israel in 1948, thinking that G-d had to do it, not man.  Now many made aliyah and do live in Israel, but not all have joined the IDF yet.  Egypt has a way of picking on the very ones they can find a point of agreement with.                                        
                                                          

Haredi Jews:
Haredi Judaism (Hebrew: חֲרֵדִי Ḥaredi, ; also spelled Charedi, plural Haredim or Charedim) consists of groups within Orthodox Judaism characterized by a strict adherence to their interpretation of Jewish law and values as opposed to modern values and practices.  Here they are
on a  typical Saturday morning reading from the Torah. They have their
prayer shawls over their head and wear their kippah all the time, something
all Jewish men do in a synagogue, except maybe some reform groups.  

Egypt is allowing outrageous anti-Semitic shows even though they have signed a peace treaty with Israel.  Sadat would never have stood for such a thing to happen, and a Democratic country is stuck in allowing it if they can't find a loophole against such a thing that could start a war.  Are they also bringing in education to explain such outrageous accusations?  What are their lawyers doing about it?  England is being led by an outrageous anti-Semite as well.  Now we know we have 4 in our own House in Washington DC.  Once a mind is warped, it accepts all kinds of stimulation to keep that warpedness.  

Evidently we still have many Middle Easterners who hate Jews- and have never even met one at that!  It's become a way of life, a social cue of belonging to a group, as if man needs something to hate, for if they didn't hate a people, they themselves would have to improve their own ways.  We Jews have been scapegoats for the world to kick around for a mighty long time, and we've come to the Muslims using the Christians' old game.

The Dance Between Germany, Jews and Christianity

My Essay, an attempt to answer this question with history.  
                                                                           
"There was nothing unique about the German people of the 1930s."  Then what was happening at this time in Germany?  Something had to start the Nazi movement and of selecting Jews to be extinguished.  

Are people really all alike?  No.  We have had different experiences.

  "Caesar described the cultural differences between the Germanic tribesmen, the Romans, and the Gauls in his book Commentarii de Bello Gallico, where he recalls his defeat of the Suebi tribes at the Battle of Vosges. He describes them at length at the beginning of Book IV and the middle of Book VI. He states that the Gauls, although warlike, had a functional society and could be civilized, but that the Germanic tribesmen were far more savage and were a threat to Roman Gaul and Rome itself. Caesar said the Germanic tribes were nomadic, with no notable settlements and a primitive culture. He used this as one of his justifications for why they had to be conquered. His accounts of barbaric northern tribes could be described as an expression of the superiority of Rome, including Roman Gaul."

"So I suppose it might come as a surprise when I tell you that there was once a point where Germania was a Roman province. And that they welcomed the empire with open arms into their forests and lands. They fought in the Roman armies. And they accepted Roman learning and culture, at least for a time. 

Germania "was used more as a catchall for the collectives of people who lived beyond the Roman borders on the Rhine, the Germani cisrhenani– literally “this side of the Rhine.” These peoples included the Teutonics, the Cherusci, the Seubi, the Chatti, the Goths, and a bunch of other colorful names, and possessed their own diverse culture. They were often considered by the Romans to be relations to the Gauls who emigrated into Rome, but over time assumed a sense of “othering” that would set them apart from the Empire to their east and south.

Starting as early as 12 BC, Augustus began a series of campaigns to defeat the tribes and unite all of Germania into a single province, Germania Magna, much as his uncle had desired to do. So one by one, the armies of Rome began to defeat the tribes and bring them to heel."

                                                                                

When Rome burned down the 2nd Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE, events started falling in place.  Jews were starved, killed in this burning, and some managed to get to Iberia (Spain) where they had previously started trading.  Jews had been under occupation by the Romans and many were taken into their army as evidence of this has turned up Jewish soldiers being in Roman garrisons, , and brought to Europe's Rhineland (Germany) where they had also taken over.  Romans also took a majority to Rome as slaves where at least one of our ancestors were brought, facing the ultimate death of being in the Roman circus, eaten by lions, slaughtered in one to one combat, etc.  We have genes from the famous Jewish-Italian Kalonymus family of which many entered into eastern Europe much later. 

 Then Jews were barred from entering Jerusalem by the Roman edict.  They had to find other places to live.  However, General Bar Kakhba took back Jerusalem from the Romans and held it for 3 years from 132 to 135 CE, fighting them harder than any other people had previously.  He was slaughtered in the attempt.  The Romans were so furious with the Jews at this point that they renamed the land-Palestine-named for the worst enemy Jews had had up till then, the Philistines.  
                                                           

From Italy to Germany was the flow of Jews.  Some 200 years later in 321 CE, the emperor Constantine issued regulations on Jews which acknowledged that Jews had made it to Cologne.  Jews also had settled in other spots along the Rhineland.   

People of all sorts were taken in by the Romans and had become soldiers with promises from the Romans of land.  Why was there a problem with the Jews, a people of the empire of Israel, who had their own religion, language and royal house until the Roman destruction.  The problem was with the newly found religion of Christianity,   and emperor Constantine who held a meeting of all the new Christians who decided that Jews were their competitor and how to undermine them and end their religion to make not only room but the only religion at that time.

In the beginning, Jews were admired and needed in lands for their trading acumen.  Jewish communities appears in Germany.  By the 9th century, they were living in Augsburg and Metz, and by the 10th at Worms, a very important center then for Jews and later for Christians, Mainz, Magdeburg, Ratisbon, etc.   The largest population of Jews was in the Rhineland of Mainz, Speyer, Worms, Cologne, etc where an intense intellectual life developed in the Jewish communities and went on into the 11th century under Franco-Jewish influence.  
                                                     

Persecution of Jews commenced and were recorded in 1012.  Then the worst thing happened in history.  The year 1096 brought out the Crusaders of Europe who embarked on the trek to Palestine with horses to drive out the Moslems from Jerusalem, where Queen Helena had visited looking for pieces of anything connected to Jesus.  The Europeans thought they had spotlighted Jerusalem as their land being it was where Jesus had his Last Supper and was killed by the Romans outside of it.    They had just changed over from a polytheistic religion to believing in a new way, a powerful way since Queen Helena had converted and talked her son into also converting to Christianity. 

It was in 1096 that the Crusaders massacred the Jews throughout the Rhineland and adjacent area on their way to the Holy land where they would spill the blood of both Muslims and Jews.  After 9 Crusades and 200 years, they ended their trying takeover of the land that spit them out.  

Now Jews are being chased out of the trades and forced into money lending since Christians found it a distasteful profession.  It was now the only one open for Jews among any populated area.  There were massacres happening.  The 1298 one was started by a knight by the name of Rindfleisch of Germany.  Notice that knights were from many countries of Europe by now, not just from England.

The stage is set against Judaism.  The people are marked first by the Romans and then by Constantine, who set the attitude towards Jews and the need to put them down.  
                                                           

We come to the 1930s CE in Germany and the country was going through an economic disaster.  They suffered after WWI-the war they themselves started.  Who did one enterprising man blame who had a big and loud mouth but Hitler, who accused the Jews for their problems.  His demeanor and voice and words mesmerized the people who were very oriented towards male dominance in their culture, and found themselves dominated intellectually as well by this evil representation of human existence.  Somehow people kowtowed to him, giving in as they thought he made sense.  They could not break out of this line of thought, and bent their minds to accept his attitude towards the unwanted Jews that they obviously heard about and their evil ways in their Lutheran churches.  

There,  there you have it.  A country who had a large population of Jews, and Jews, who had already gone through a massacre in many European towns back in 1096 in the Christian Crusade, who suffered massacres by these same Crusaders in 1099, who had gone through expulsions from England, France, Spain, Hungary, Austria, being forced into Christianity, who had these events burned into their DNA, hung their heads in shame or in pride of who they were, and stayed until they felt the warning to leave, like Einstein did.  

Our own uncle must have been the last Jew to leave in May of 1939 on a ship.  His father had fought for Germany in WWI and then made to scrub the streets in a showing against Jews.  He showed them.  He wore his WWI uniform.  Germany had started 2 World Wars.  This shows how aggressive a country they have become.  

For Germany, with Hitler at the helm, had become an aggressive country to relieve their stagnant economic  woes, and they were automatically slaughtering off the very people who could have helped them:  the Jews.  Hitler had decided to kill them all, all who lived in this whole world, and he managed to slaughter 6 million.  Today we now have about 14 million Jews in the world, less than 1% of the world population.   The Germans had allowed an evil mind to dominate theirs.  They were used to being dominated in their homes by the father.  Hadn't they already been used to such a structure early on by being a part of the Roman army and it's structures?  For centuries they did not develop a reason to question life-to question their father's dominance.  
                                                     

On the other hand, as I look at Israel today and its 6 million Jews, 80% of its population, a country created by Jews seeking shelter in its own homeland after being the "wandering Jews of 2,000 years"

Who is creating the most businesses?  Israelis are.  6 million Jews now live in Israel, able to be surviving the indignities of a world of racists-who have turned against us again by calling Israel a racist state;  our refuge, our origin.  They have to be creative to handle such a stress.  Israelis have to think outside the box.  

I'm so proud to be one of a handful of people who have survived.  May

Israel and its Israelis  continue to live on.

PS:  My husband belonged to a baseball group made up of various religions.  The Lutheran minister was his friend, and invited me to make a presentation about Israel to his congregation.  He loaned me information and slides, as I believe he had also visited.  That was the push I needed to make Aliyah to Israel and teach English.  He was a wonderful friend.  Luckily, we weren't living in Germany then.
