Dubai A City in UAE and How They Fare With Balistic Missiles From Iran

Find United Arab Emirates on the lower right,  and above that is Dubai on the piece of pointed land near the Strait. The map-makers jumped the gun here on the map, placing Palestine on it which isn't happening;  especially after their behavior on 7th of October, 2023.

Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai It is on a creek on the southeastern coast of the Persian Gulf. As of 2025, its population stands at 4 million, 92% of whom are expatriates. 

 In Dubai, . Native Emirati citizens make up only about 8% of the city's total population, creating one of the highest ratios of foreign residents in the world. 

 Dubai's economy centres on trade, tourism, aviation, financial services, and real estate. The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is one of the world's major financial centres. In 2024, Dubai was the seventh most-visited city globally.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the world's busiest airport for international passenger traffic, handling over 92 million passengers in 2024.

The United Arab Emirates (including Dubai) has suspended all trade with Iran following recent ballistic missile intercepts, while Israel faces major flight and baggage disruptions at Ben Gurion Airport that have left numerous travelers stranded, including connections through Dubai.

Statewide and Regional Arab Population: Broad U.S. Census estimates indicate that upwards of 31,000 Arab Americans live across Oregon, with roughly 10,000 residing in Multnomah County alone. A few are from Dubai.  National Origins: The majority of the Arab and Middle Eastern population in the Portland metro area traces its roots to countries like Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine, rather than the UAE, who belong to the Abrahamic Accords.  Lebanon and Syria are taken over by Hezbollah terrorists who are in their government.  Expat Community Visibility: While the wider Portland metro area (including suburbs like Beaverton) is home to diverse international communities, an organized or distinct community specifically from Dubai is statically untracked  and minimal. 

Portland, Oregon is home to a growing Arab American population of roughly 32,000 statewide, with nearly 10,000 residents in Multnomah County.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will be heading to Washington to attend the funeral of the late Senator Lyndsey Graham on Tuesday,July 28, 2026 after which he will meet with President Trump in the White House.

Mamdani says "New York City can't arrest Netanyahu," with a change in his tune to " but the federal government should."  "It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant," he said in a video posted on X. "The federal government however does and I call on them to join the ICC and execute this warrant," he added, referring to the International Criminal Court." 

One of the reasons given for the pause in strikes by the U.S. against Iran is a shortage of interceptor missiles.

Patriot (PAC-3): Land-based system targeting short-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft. 

THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense): Mobile land-based batteries designed to destroy short- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles during their final descent using kinetic force.

Stockpile Constraints: Heavy utilization in active conflicts across the Middle East and Europe has heavily depleted existing Pentagon inventories. 

Cost Reduction Efforts: Manufacturers like Lockheed Martin are developing lower-cost alternatives, such as the PAC-3 ACE, to increase missile depth and lower per-intercept costs.

Defense officials,  Minister of Defense Israel Katz, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (who leads the Security Cabinet), and Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir,  say that they do not expect an imminent missile attack from Iran, although the situation could deteriorate quickly  Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and Israel Katz remain on high alert. 

 Former Israeli foreign minister and longtime ally of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, here Israel Katz was sworn in as defence minister on Thursday in 2025. Netanyahu had abruptly fired Katz's predecessor, Yoav Gallant, on Tuesday over persistent disagreements during Israel's war in Gaza – a decision largely derided by Netanyahu's opposition.

A fire destroyed 13 homes in the settlement of Havat Gilad in Samaria on Saturday. Two Palestinians were arrested today on suspicion of involvement in setting the fire. Jerusalem is in Judea.  Havat Gilad (Hebrew: חַוַּת גִּלְעָד, lit. 'Gilad Farm') is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Located about 1km from the Israeli settlement of Kedumim, Havat Gilad was established as an unauthorized outpost in 2002, after which it was dismantled by official forces and rebuilt by settlers several times until it was granted legal status by the Israeli government in February 2018.

Israeli troops poised to continue Gaza offensive on June 29, 2006, so this is old hat by today's standard of 2026.  

Thousands of Israelis gathered near the Gaza border in a rally this 2026  calling for the reestablishment of Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip. Among those attending were Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich—who also serves as a minister in the Defense Ministry, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Economy Minister Nir Barkat, Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli, Social Equality Minister May Golan, Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu and Deputy Minister Almog Cohen.The rally, held under the slogan "Returning home after 21 years," featured speeches from prominent government officials, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Activists originally planned to march closer to the border to overlook the ruins of former settlements evacuated in 2005, but they were stopped by the Israeli military, which declared parts of the western Negev a closed military zone

 Last month Smotrich said, "We are ready to establish three communities in northern Gaza immediately, as soon as the prime minister gives the green light."

                                          

      Hezbollah shooting missiles at Aqaba

 Iran fired 4 missiles at the Jordanian port city of Aqaba, adjacent to Eilat, on Sunday, all of which were intercepted.

 Iron Dome interceptors were launched to intercept debris from the missiles that were going to fall on Israeli territory.

 Meanwhile, U.S. aerial refueling aircraft continue arriving in Israel at a rate of five to eight aircraft a day, according to Israeli defense officials.

They said a record number of American tankers are expected to be stationed in Israel this week, exceeding even the deployments seen during Israel's most recent direct military confrontation with Iran.
