IDF air and ground forces struck over 130 Hamas targets throughout Gaza over the past day. Sgt. Asaf Zamir, 19, from Dimona and a member of the 53rd Armored Battalion of the 188th Brigade, was killed on Friday during combat in the Khan Younis area. Four other soldiers were wounded in the incident. That's 6 young men killed in one day.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is meeting President Trump today at the White House. The President is optimistic that a ceasefire and hostage release deal can be reached within the week.
Hamas terrorists to be in QatarIsrael sent a high level delegation to Qatar to take part in proximity talks with Hamas.
Netanyahu said that Israel's goals in Gaza were:
1. “The release and return of all the hostages, the living and the fallen;
2. the destruction of Hamas’s capabilities – to kick it out of there, and
3. to ensure that Gaza will no longer constitute a threat to Israel.”
A Hamas member claims that 95 percent of Hamas leaders have been killed. “There’s barely anything left of the security structure.” Yet Hamas continues to hold around 35-40 percent of Gaza and rule over 2 million people? Hamas also claimed it could deliver the hostages, according to reports of a possible deal. How can both things be true, that Hamas has no control, but controls 2 million people and the hostages? “Criminal gangs are everywhere. Society is collapsing,” the source claimed. "About the security situation, let me be clear: it has completely collapsed. Totally gone. There's no control anywhere," he said.
A new figure in the equasion is Abu Shabab. Abu Shabab as a new face of the resistance against Hamas in Gaza. It portrays Shabab as linked to Egypt, the PA, and Dahlan. Via Dahlan, one could then extrapolate that he is potentially backed by Gulf countries. However, at the same time, Hamas leaders in Doha are in talks about a ceasefire. How can both things be true at the same time? How can Hamas be collapsing but also in talks?
October 2023 bombardment, has emerged as commander of the Israeli-supported
"Popular Forces" militia in Gaza. In an interview with Israel's KAN broadcaster, Abu
Shabab admitted his group coordinates with the Israeli military (IDF) and operates
freely in Rafah under IDF protection.
The man is Yasser Abu Shabab, who says he commands hundreds of armed
men known as the Popular Forces to offer protection to international
organizations working in southern Gaza.
In his early thirties, Abu Shabab is from a prominent Bedouin family in
southern Gaza. On October 7, 2023, he was languishing in a Hamas-run jail
in Gaza, accused of drug trafficking, before being released after the conflict
started.
The militia, armed with aging AK-47 rifles provided by Netanyahu's government,
has raised suspicions of external support after deputy commander Ghassan Duhine
shared footage of a vehicle with UAE (Sharjah) plates.
Though disavowed by his own Tarabin clan, Abu Shabab claims limited
administrative coordination with the Palestinian Authority (PA) - which has firmly
denied any involvement with the armed group.
Hamas doesn’t appear under pressure in the talks. It seems to know that Israel won’t go into the remaining 35 percent of Gaza that Hamas controls. These are the central camps, Gaza City, and Mawasi areas. Israel has never entered these areas during the war for fear of harming hostages, which gives Hamas an area to recuperate.
Also, the rumor is that the sheiks of Hebron wants to join the Abraham Accords,
that means throwing out the yoke of Hamas ! It's on JNS with the Quad.
