RACISM: HOW IT GOT STARTED AND THE HOLOCAUST IT LEFT BEHIND

"Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers Party, which he led, placed a lot of importance on their ideas of racial hygiene. They believed that it was possible to create a pure race of supreme German people using selective breeding techniques applied in agriculture. They wished to eliminate certain groups of people, who were seen as racially impure, from Germany. These included: Jewish people; the Roma (Gypsies) ; certain groups of people from Poland and Russia; Jehovah's Witnesses (a religous group) ; disabled persons; homosexuals; and Communists.   Today we say this is a racist ideology.  

The term racial hygiene was used to describe an approach to eugenics in the early 20th century, which found its most extensive implementation in Nazi Germany (Nazi eugenics). It was marked by efforts to avoid miscegenation (the mixing of different races, such as Black and White children; Semitic and Caucasian) , analogous to an animal breeder seeking purebred animals. This was often motivated by the belief in the existence of a racial hierarchy and the related fear that "lower races" would "contaminate" a "higher" one. As with most eugenicists at the time, racial hygienists believed that the lack of eugenics would lead to rapid social degeneration, the decline of civilization by the spread of inferior characteristics.

The German eugenicist Alfred Ploetz introduced the term "racial hygiene" (Rassenhygiene} in 1895 in his Racial Hygiene Basics (Grundlinien einer Rassenhygiene). He discussed the importance of avoiding "counterselective forces" such as war, inbreeding, free healthcare for the poor, alcohol and venereal disease. 

 In its earliest incarnation it was more concerned by the declining birthrate of the German state and the increasing number of mentally-ill and disabled people in state-run institutions (and their costs to the state) than it was by the "Jewish question" and the "degeneration of the Nordic race" (Entnordung) which would come to dominate its philosophy in Germany from the 1920s to the Second World War.     The Nordic race is one of the putative sub-races into which some late-19th to mid-20th century anthropologists divided the Caucasian race, attributing them to Northwestern and Northern Europe, particularly .

During the last years of the 19th century, the German racial hygienists Alfred Ploetz and Wilhelm Schallmayer regarded certain people as inferior, and they opposed their ability to procreate. These theorists believed that all human behaviors, including crime, alcoholism and divorce, were caused by genetics.  

                                                

The removal of Jewish people from German society was particularly well-planned and was referred to as the "Final Solution to the Jewish Question". About 11 million people, of whom about six million were Jewish, died mainly in death and concentration camps.  Jews were forced to wear the yellow star of David for identification.  

It was in Vienna that Hitler first became exposed to racist rhetoric. Populists such as mayor Karl Lueger exploited the climate of virulent anti-Semitism and occasionally espoused German nationalist notions for political effect. German nationalism had a particularly widespread following in the Mariahilf district, where Hitler lived.   Georg Ritter von Schönerer became a major influence on Hitler. He also developed an admiration for Martin Luther. Hitler read local newspapers such as Deutsches Volksblatt [de] that fanned prejudice and played on Christian fears of being swamped by an influx of Eastern European Jews. He read newspapers and pamphlets that published the thoughts of philosophers and theoreticians such as Houston Stewart Chamberlain, Charles Darwin, Friedrich Nietzsche, Gustave Le Bon and Arthur Schopenhauer.

The Nazis started eliminating Jews in 1933.  Jews were thought of as being inferior beings and the German people went along with this statement.  They were a small population, even in 1933 and Germany was also under the spell of anti-Semitism.  Jews were not involved in any crimes, alcoholism or divorce rates in Germany, nor have they ever been in any country, though we did have but a few involved with the American Mafia in the 20's-30s.  

At the same time, Jews also held the belief that they were a religion, not a race, as they had found Jews existing in many parts of the world.  We came with blond hair and black hair, fair skin and olive complexions, brown eyes and blue eyes; in fact-King David was said to have been a gingy;  with red hair.  

                                                             

Upon studying our history, we started off as a family;  the 12 sons of Jacob in the "Old Testament," which grew into the 12 tribes of which 10 became lost with the kidnapping of those by the Assyrians in 721 BCE.  We Jews are from the tribe of Judah and maybe a few of us from Benjamin who was very close by and living in Judah, too.  However, some Jews have married Gentiles, so that line is mixed in certain cases.  Those that married into our family converted to Judaism in most cases.              

Here it is, 2021, and genetics has improved after being discovered and used in  my lifetime.  DNA was discovered in 1869 by Swiss researcher Friedrich Miescher, who was originally trying to study the composition of lymphoid cells (white blood cells). Instead, he isolated a new molecule he called nuclein (DNA with associated proteins) from a cell nucleus.

Through DNA we are finding through autosomal testing that we Jews have intermarried throughout the generations with each other unknowingly, which means we are an endogamous people, probably from living in ghettos and such.   We are now finding that we have not only possible 1st cousins unknown to us, but 2nd, 3, 4th, 5th and higher cousins;  people sharing but a few genes with us.  

We have found that our intelligence rates high on tests, certainly not low as the Nazis had tried to make out.  In fact, they were afraid of Jews because during their times of financial downfalls, the Jews were standing firm and not closing their shops.   They had great heads for business and the average German wasn't doing well at all.  

It all comes from past history and the behaviors of people towards Jews.  Anti-Semitism has existed since Abraham.  Jews have been isolated; 

allowed only certain professions in different countries.  One profession allowed to them was that of the peddler that grew into a business such as traveling on the Silk Road and finding goods to trade.  Christianity did not allow their people to deal with charging interest for borrowing money as it was considered as lowly and disgusting-but they left that an open field for the Jews.  Banking became a profession for a few.  Math became a subject that was easier for Jews than for others, evidently, having used it so much in their line of occupations.  

                                                    

           Albert Einstein and his Theory of Relativity.  In April 1933, Einstein discovered that the new German government had passed laws barring Jews from holding any official positions, including teaching at universities. Historian Gerald Holton describes how, with "virtually no audible protest being raised by their colleagues", thousands of Jewish scientists were suddenly forced to give up their university positions and their names were removed from the rolls of institutions where they were employed.

Music and Math help develop both skills, and Jews had many musicians included in their people, an interesting observation.  Alfred Einstein (December 30, 1880 – February 13, 1952) was a German-American musicologist and music editor. He was born in Munich and fled Nazi Germany after Hitler's Machtergreifung, arriving in the United States by 1939. He is best known for being the editor of the first major revision of the Köchel catalogue, which was published in the year 1936. The Köchel catalogue is the extensive catalogue of the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  While one source (1980) lists Alfred as a cousin of the scientist Albert Einstein, another claims (1993) that no relationship has been verified. Some websites claim they were both descended from a Moyses Einstein seven generations back, hence they were sixth cousins. In 1991, Alfred's daughter Eva stated that they were not related. On the other hand, she wrote in 2003 that they were fifth cousins on one side, and fifth cousins once removed on the other, according to research by George Arnstein. They were photographed together in 1947 when Albert Einstein received an honorary doctorate from Princeton, but they did not know that they were distantly related. 

 It sounds to me that the Einsteins have taken a DNA test to establish 5th or 6th cousin relationships.  It's so easy to do today.  Albert was a great mathematician, of course.  He had an IQ of 180.  Most people have one of 100 which is considered "normal."  Albert was offered the position of President of Israel, but he turned it down.  His thing was science. 

I find I am related to a male Einstein as 5th cousin, and we share 51cms with the longest segment being 8 cMs.  I'm going to write to him but will most likely will never find our common ancestor.   My brother matches as a 3rd to 5th cousin to the same person and a female with more DNA!  This is interesting!  It does help when all siblings take the same test.  You get more information that way.

The Treaty of Versailles stipulated that Germany had to relinquish several of its territories and de-militarise the Rhineland. The treaty imposed economic sanctions and levied heavy reparations on the country. Many Germans saw the treaty as an unjust humiliation–they especially objected to Article 231, which they interpreted as declaring Germany responsible for the war, when they were guilty.  It was they who started it off by the invasion of Poland!    The Versailles Treaty and the economic, social, and political conditions in Germany after the war were later exploited by Hitler for political gain.

Racial hygienists played key roles in the Holocaust, the German National Socialist effort to purge Europe of Jews, Romani people, Poles, Serbs (along with the majority of the other Slavs), Blacks, mixed race people, and physically or intellectually disabled people. 

In the Aktion T4 program, Hitler ordered the execution of mentally-ill patients by euthanasia under the cover of deaths from strokes and illnesses. The methods and equipment that had been used in the murder of thousands of mentally ill were then transferred to concentration camps because the materials and resources needed to efficiently kill large numbers of people existed and had been proven successful. The nurses and the staff who had assisted and performed the killings were then moved along with the gas chambers to the concentration camps, which were being built in order to be able to replicate the mass murders repeatedly.

Today countries have programs to help the poor to raise their status; such as pre-schools, healthcare, etc.  They are finding this much more cost-effective.  Today, all humans are classified as belonging to the species Homo sapiens. However, this is not the first species of homininae: the first species of genus Homo, Homo habilis, evolved in East Africa at least 2 million years ago, and members of this species populated different parts of Africa in a relatively short time.

Though many countries around the globe have passed laws related to race and discrimination, the first significant international human rights instrument developed by the United Nations (UN) was the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The UDHR recognizes that if people are to be treated with dignity, they require economic rights, social rights including education, and the rights to cultural and political participation and civil liberty. It further states that everyone is entitled to these rights "without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status".

The UN does not define "racism"; however, it does define "racial discrimination".

Hypocrisy In Dublin, Ireland Shown As Ripe For BDS

Hypocrisy has been alive and well in Dublin, Ireland's capitol, for me to see that BDS beliefs  exist in some citizens.  Dublin was the home for my  Grandfather, Nathan Abraham Goldfus/foot for a short while after entering England for a quick trial.  He was a Jewish immigrant from Telz, Lithuania, a place many Jews had left in the late 1800s that wound up in Dublin.  I don't think they chose Dublin for their Guinness, but for possible opportunities and to escape from anti-Semitism in Lithuania. 

A self-styled Sacha Baron Cohen film-maker, also Jewish, went to Dublin for a test, like Cohen has done so often.  It reminds me of the Prophet Elijah going to people's homes during Passover to test their reactions to his presence. He comes to redeem us.  I hope we are worthy.  We're ready for Elijah with a glass of wine just for him.   Sacha isn't there to redeem, but certainly to expose them for what they are.  

                                        

Only this time it was Ami Horovitz, a Jewish American New York film-maker  who also writes satirical-style like Cohen to play the part of Elijah visiting and talking with people.  His mission was to see for himself what local supporters of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement were doing in Europe involving  the anti-Israel campaign whose goal is to isolate Israel politically, economically and culturally.  

Ami Horowitz is an American documentary filmmaker.   He is the writer, producer, and director of Ami on the Streets, a satirical short film series made for Fox News. Horowitz co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in the 2009 documentary U.N. Me, a critical examination of the United Nations.   A native of Los Angeles, Horowitz graduated from the University of Southern California with majors in political science and philosophy.   Horowitz's mother is from Israel.   He is a Modern Orthodox Jew, Democrat, and spent a year at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel.  

He pretended to be a sales-agent for such places as Iran, Sudan and North Korea, countries that have terrible reputations in the human-rights areas. Dublin citizens didn't bat an eye.  These countries didn't bother them at all, but when he mentioned Israel-Oy Vey!  Then he immediately heard loud boos from them.  So he even highlighted the horrors from the 3 countries he said he represented and it still didn't matter.  These Irish hypocrites didn't care;  they'd do business with them, but not from Israel.

It reminds me of a response I've seen in children when I taught K through grade 2.  One child would fall out of his seat on purpose to get attention most likely, and then all the children copied him and also fell out of their seats.  We humans seem to have a sheep-like quality similar to antelopes in a herd.  They all react together, even if running to the edge of the cliff.  Leaders of any sub-group- exposed to BDS without any education about Israel react, and everyone reacts together.  They could be the parents in a family, the leader in the neighborhood;  all are sheep.  No one is a leader away from the cliff or stops to do research on just what BDS is.  Anti-Semitism is strong in Dublin.

How sad.  It was quite a center of refuge for Jews such as my grandfather.  I have found many of our Goldfus-Goldfoot ancestors living there and in a few other Irish cities.  Jews had a good reputation there, too, I thought.    Why has this changed?  I have the book, Jewish Ireland-a social history  by Ray Rivlin that tells about life there.  It starts with the 1880s when Orthodox Russian Jews, forced to flee Tsarist persecution, began arriving in Ireland without any means of support, little secular education, and  no understanding of English.  They started life as peddlers and grew to become professionals and entrepreneurs  and took active parts in Irish life; their civil war and other major conflicts.

• In 1956, Robert Briscoe became the first Jewish Lord Mayor of Dublin, although he was not the first Jewish Mayor in Ireland. That title belongs to William Annyas, who was elected Mayor of Youghal, County Cork in 1555.  This could be because England had expulsed all Jews from 1290 to 1655;  365 years.  So Jews found refuge in Ireland.

• Daniel Day-Lewis, actor.  

Anti-Semitism existed in Dublin as well in the early 1880s.  Placards in 1886 urged people to have no truck with the foreign Jews of recent arrival.  Letters following screamed against the Jewish presence.  Social justice was non existent.  

There are no protests today against human-rights violators;  not even a global boycott such as people of North Korea, Iran or Sudan.  Only Israel ticks so many off because of this movement of BDS propaganda, something the Nazis were so good at.  They have learned a new mantra:  Palestinians are good;  Israelis are evil.

The BDS movement was modeled on the African National Congress-led boycott of apartheid-era South Africa.  The BDS movement grew out of the UN's World Conference Against Racism in Durham, South Africa in 2001.  This turned into a notorious hate-fest against Jews and their state of Israel.  

BDS was conceived  only one year after Prime Minister Ehud Barak had offered historic concessions making me grimace in pain at the thought of it,  to the PLO head terrorist, Yasser Arafat.  Arafat, thank G-d, turned the offer down as he wanted ALL of Israel, and launched the 2nd Intifada instead.  It was a brutal uprising that included many suicide bombings and other attacks against Israeli citizens.  I guess with all that planning of his, he couldn't resist the chance.  

"The BDS movement is funded largely by European governments through a variety of participating NGOs and is  to enfranchise Palestinians by turning their oppressors into a global pariah."  

BDS activists insist that Israel alone is responsible for the lack of peace between Israelis and Palestinians and seek to coerce the Jewish state into making more and more unilateral and unreciprocated concessions through an unreciprocated global campaign of political, economic and cultural isolation.  

Just how long did the war go on in Ireland between the Catholics and the Protestants?  Or between England and Ireland?    As I see it, the people are of the same religion with a few differences.  The differences between Jews and Muslims may be slight to Christians, as we both believe in the ONE G-d viewpoint, but we have vast differences otherwise, that is just beginning to break down in the areas of culture and education and what's right and what's wrong.  Wikipaedia points out that "The Troubles (Irish: Na Trioblóidí) were an ethno-nationalist period of conflict in Northern Ireland that lasted about 30 years from the late 1960s to the late 1990s.  I think it's lasted much longer, especially between problems between England and Ireland.  Great neighbors, what?  Is this what Israel has to look forward to?  

Nicholas Dyrenforth, a Jewish-Australian academic, who is a co-author of "Boycotting Israel is Wrong," with Philip Mendes, said, "BDS is a war on Israel by means other than violence with the same aim of ending Israel's existence and reversing the wars of 1948 and 1967."  I guess I'm not being paranoid.  It's obvious to many of us about the lying propaganda BDS spews forth.  I'm sick of viewing  a deaf ear from many about its evil intentions.  

                                                  

Omar Barghouti, the leading light of BDS, was born in Qatar where hatred comes from their radio to all the Arab countries through their religious leader, Yusuf al-Qaradawi.   Omar was a founder of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel.  He has the chutzpa of calling Israel a racist "apartheid" state, yet, ironically, is happy to be a PhD student at Tel Aviv University.  How 2-faced can you get?   He received the Gandhi Peace Award in 2017. Oy,oy vey!!   He has made no secret of the BDS campaign's ultimate goal to turn Israeli Jews into a tolerated minority in their new Arab state of Palestine.  In other words, he envisions the same fate for Israeli Jews that he accuses them of having perpetrated on Palestinians.  

Shame on the Gandhi Peace Award people.  They should see through this veil of pretense of human rights and see for what it is-propaganda to destroy Israel.  And I thought I was a gullible person!  They are no better than the Dublin hypocrites.  It's a pandemic!

The Verbal Enemy Israel Fights Against: BDS

The demonstrations are set to take place in Chicago, San Diego, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as in Toronto, Madrid and Valencia. Among the groups organizing the events are Students for Justice in Palestine, Jewish Voice for Peace, and American Muslims for Palestine..  The leadership is all part of BDS.  This event was called because Israel saw the need to vote on an extension of Israeli sovereignty to parts of the West Bank (Judea Samaria). Do they realize that this area is divided legally through the UN into parts A,B, and C and that Jews do live in C?  

Just what is this BDS, the “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” movement against Israel?  What do these 3 words mean and how is it hurting Israel?    First, it's  THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS from a group:  The  BDS “National Committee” includes the Council of National and Islamic Forces in Palestine. This council includes several groups designated by much of the world as terrorist organizations: including Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. So the group of terrorists against Israel's existence have teamed up to run Israeli's out of their country for their own take-over.

Definitely most definitely we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine.  No Palestinian, a rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, would ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.

Where is Palestine?  There has only been the land the Israelites held that was lost to the Romans.  The Romans took Jerusalem in 70 CE by burning their 2nd Temple, originally built by King Solomon.  The Jewish general, Bar Kokhba, had regained Jerusalem in 132 CE and held it for 3 years before being killed in battle, and the Romans were so angry with their slip in allowing it to happen, that they-in their anger, renamed the land Palaestinia, named for the biggest enemy the Jews had had, the Philistines.  There has never been a state or country of Palestine.  The land had been Israel, and after Solomon died, it divided into Israel and Judah.  2,000 years have gone by and the Jews have managed to regain their ancient land when World War I ended in 1918 by having many meetings and conferences with the League of Nations, the first UN. Then the UN also sanctified Israel.   Though Jews were living on the land ever since the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE, they now had enough people there to make a state.  The League of Nations told England that they could have a 30 year mandate with the direction to help the Jews to create a Jewish Homeland-feeling that they deserved to have this wasteland as they showed they wanted it so badly.  Jews had to wait from the end of that horrible war to May 14, 1948 to announce the birth of Israel-a renewed Israel with so many wonderful goals in mind.  The first, of course, was to have as a haven for all Jews in the world suffering from anti-Semitism such as they had been.  

Yet the enemies of Israel in the BDS movement thought differently:

I think the BDS movement will gain strength from forthrightly explaining why Israel has no right to exist…

They have refused to acknowledge  the validity, the rules and regulations that Jewish leadership had gone through to make their very existence legal and acceptable to the world.  They had had it up to you know where with encountering anti-Semitism everywhere.  England itself had forced Jews to leave their land in 1290 and didn't let them back in till people had changed their views a little by 1655--a total of 365 YEARS!   And they were holding the Jew's chance to create a Jewish Homeland, a haven for Jews-after over 2,000 years!  

Why were Arabs so adamant against having Jews on the land?  It wasn't as if they were invading THEIR cities or country.  They were creating their own out of their own ancient land that was veritably empty?

The answer to that might be the $64 dollar question.  A very well-educated, well-spoken and a leader of the Arab people was all for the Jews' return.  Emir Faisal was all for it.  He felt this way for months until his people, uneducated, prone to hysterics, violated his well-meaning motives.  Feisal of course expected something in return for all he had done with the League of Nations and the British, and he became king of 2 surrounding countries to Israel.  One was mandated by the French that didn't work out, Syria.  Then he was king of Iraq.    Faisal I bin Hussein bin Ali al-Hashemi was King of the Arab Kingdom of Syria or Greater Syria in 1920, and was King of Iraq from 23 August 1921 to 1933. He was the third son of Hussein bin Ali, the Grand Sharif of Mecca, who had proclaimed himself King of the Arab lands in October 1916.

Jews have been fighting anti-Semitism ever since Abram became Abraham and believe in ONE UNSEEN GOD while in a world of people who believed in many gods and made statues of them to help their belief along.  Moses, former adopted Prince of Egypt,  verified this belief by freeing them from slavery in Egypt and giving them laws to live by.  Other people had laws to live by as well, but never as well-defined as these.  They had 613 to follow.  Though the number was huge, they were not that difficult to follow to the Israelites who were so grateful to be freed after 400 years of being in Egypt where slavery was their only existence that they knew.

BDS singles out Israel, and only Israel, for a campaign to put an end to its existence as the world’s only Jewish state and uses it as the reason for all their own social ills. This is how they get the world to stop doing business with Israel, hoping to ruin the country economically instead of the usual rockets, mortars and missiles that they had been using-and using unsuccessfully. 

 To boycott means to stop using that store.  

To divest means to deprive a business, to strip of equipment,  to take away from this business-business or country of Israel....to deprive Israel of customers, people, communication-anything that helps them...to stop using... as Ireland is divesting from fossil fuels.  Here it means pretty much the same way we use to boycott...to stay away from....

To have sanctions means to  use this method to force Israel to desist or yield whatever is helping it to be successful.  For instance we have sanctions on Iran to slow down their uranium manufacturing need to put in warheads of missiles to attack the USA and Israel for starters.  The Arab countries are included, so 4 now have made peace with Israel-a result not foreseen by Iran.  There are no sanctions on Israel except through BDS-people listening to gossip and lies to warp their attitudes towards the Jewish country and not understanding the situation they are presented with from the Palestinians-many of which have become the terrorist groups fighting against Israel-Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.. 

                                             

   Samaria, name of the former capital,  was originally Israel which included Judah.  Assyrians attacked and took away the best of the population-10 northern tribes-10 of the 12 sons of Jacob.  Judah, the largest tribe,  was left along with some Benjaminites; home of Jerusalem.                              

               Fatah and Hamas political party members, former terrorists  who compete with each  other for power, still vying for it.  

 Hamas is not only a terrorist group, it is the political party the Arabs voted for in Gaza.  Gaza is being ruled by terrorists. Just this year of 2-21, 3 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza. Last year in 2020 on December 26 to November 14th, 2 rockets were shot over Ashkelon, another fired toward the city and 2 fired toward Ashdod and Kibbutz Palmachim.  

Today, Hebron is the largest city in the West Bank, and the second largest in the Palestinian territories after Gaza.  It has a population of 215,452 Palestinians (2016), and between 500 and 850 Jewish settlers concentrated on the outskirts of the Old City of Hebron.  If and when Judea and Samaria becomes "Palestine" which is an aim of the Palestinian Authority run by Abbas, Hebron, which is in Judah, will be lost to Jews.  The Palestinians say they will not allow any Jews in their state, even though there are 20% of Israelis who are Arabs.  I doubt if even tourism would be open for Jews in order to visit the tomb.   In 2018, hundreds of rockets were fired at Israel during the Gaza-Israel clashes of November 2018. As of 13 November 2018 at least one civilian fatality has been reported in Ashkelon, with 70 reported as wounded. The man who was killed was a Palestinian who had moved to Israel from occupied Hebron.  Hebron, a historic Jewish city 18 miles south of Jerusalem, has been taken over by the Palestinian Arabs.  Jews do live there in the Kiryat Arba quarter east of the city.  This is the cite where Abraham had bought land which was the Cave of Machpelah so that he could bury Sarah, his wife and niece. Since Jews and Arabs both came from Abraham, being distant cousins, it's held holy to both.  It has always been one of the 4 sacred cities to Jews;  the others being Jerusalem, Tiberias and Safed. To think that in 1890, 1,500 Jews lived in Hebron and had a yeshivot and religious schools here.
