13 Marines were killed today when ISIS-K (K is for Korestan which is a Pakistan and Afghanistan) arm of ISIS)had a suicide bomber in the crowd. 18 are injured. They were working on assisting in the airlift of Americans and Afghanis needing to get out of Afghanistan. Children and adults were slaughtered by a suicide bomber lying in a sewage canal. President Biden's remark was that "We will hunt you down !!" 100,000 were airlifted in the past 11 days. 7,000 made it out today despite the bombing. Those preparations have not stopped. 1,000 Americans remain in Afghanistan including 14 students from California that are now stuck in Kabul. Whoever would allow students to be in this part of the world?
Afghanistan had a total population in 2011 of 28,395,716. Then it went up to 34,836, 014. A more recent total was 37,135,000.
Lt. Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr., Director of Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5
General McKenzie of USA gave information. Our Marines are not in control of securing the perimeter. They must rely on the Taliban to do that. The Taliban are discovering that they cannot stop ISIS terrorists or al Qaeda terrorists. These were our first soldiers killed before the August 31st deadline and since February.
Suddof Chaudrey, an investigative journalist, also gave her opinions. Suddaf Chaudry is also a photographer and producer with a focus on conflict, extremism, politics, economic and humanitarian issues. A particular focus for Suddaf has been the relationship between the Middle East and South Asia, the warring factions of Iran, Saudi Arabia, India and Pakistan. She works alone; often undercover and in closed and difficult countries. As a freelancer, Suddaf took great risks to report on a number of investigations, the recruitment of Pakistan Shia militias by Iran to fight in Syria. The Baloch militias going to fight in Iraq under the instruction of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard was a very challenging investigation due to military control and zero access for reporters in Balochistan and Tehran.
Leon Panetta, former CIA Director, was also called on for his opinions. They all agreed to go after ISIS and al Qaeda and al Shebaab, another terrorist militant group linked together. Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen, HSM; more commonly known as al-Shabaab, is a terrorist, jihadist fundamentalist group based in East Africa and Yemen. In 2009 Ahmed Abdi Godane, the leader of Al Shabaab imposed a ban on the UN World Food Programme and Western Agencies in Somalia.
I have a friend in Afghanistan who was a translator for the USA with a family. When the US left, he was left without proper papers to get him out. I tried to find the Sergeant responsible for him but failed. Perhaps he had since been killed. His fear has been that the Taliban will find him and kill him. That's why so many are scrambling for their lives to get out. What will happen to him? I've lost contact. Now, if it's not the Taliban it's ISIS to fear.
