Trump was almost the youngest child, with an older brother Fred Jr who became an alcoholic and has passed away in 1981 and 2 sisters, Maryanne who is now a judge, Elizabeth and a younger brother, Robert.
"At age 13 in 1959, Trump’s parents sent him to the New York Military Academy, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner. He did well at the academy, both socially and academically, rising to become a star athlete and student leader by the time he graduated in 1964" at age 18.
As a retired teacher, I can see him being a very rambuncious boy who was hard to handle, possibly with hyper tendencies and a dislike for sitting where neither parent could tame him. They had the money to send him off, something they do more frequently in Great Britain.
Trump had been a Democrat but ran for president on the Republican ticket. By winning the 2017 race, he became hated by the Democrats and disliked by the Republicans with their old guard. Trump has been liked by people who were looking for someone who would act outside the box of the usual thinking; someone who was not a politician, and being a businessman makes him most favorable.
In his 1997 book Trump: The Art of the Comeback, Trump says he decided to buy the Miss Universe pageant because "it’s about fun; and it’s about beauty, the ultimate beauty — that of a woman." He loves beautiful women. He's not unlike many men.

He has broken the mold by backing Israel in several ways. The last act of Obama was to not put forth any backing on a UN resolution against Israel, and this was an act thought to be followed up by Hillary if she won the presidential seat of power as she was his Secretary of State. It is already showing favoritism with Joe Biden who will follow no doubt in Obama's shoes. Trump has moved the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, an important step for Israelis and was something promised by many presidents who failed to do so. He also recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, another failed move by US presidents. Netanyahu also was happy with Trump's vowing to fix or scrap the Iran nuclear deal.
In doing so, the Israeli leader likened Trump to Harry Truman, Lord Balfour — and Cyrus the Great.
"I want to tell you that the Jewish people have a long memory, so we remember the proclamation of the great king, Cyrus the Great, the Persian king 2,500 years ago. He proclaimed that the Jewish exiles in Babylon could come back and rebuild our Temple in Jerusalem. We remember a hundred years ago, Lord Balfour, who issued the Balfour Proclamation that recognized the rights of the Jewish people in our ancestral homeland. We remember 70 years ago, President Harry S. Truman was the first leader to recognize the Jewish state. And we remember how a few weeks ago, President Donald J. Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Mr. President, this will be remembered by our people through the ages."
Trump's Christian base comments with " Mike Evans told the Christian Broadcasting Network that Cyrus “was used as an instrument of God for deliverance in the Bible, and God has used this imperfect vessel, this flawed human being like you or I, this imperfect vessel, and he’s using him in an incredible, amazing way to fulfill his plans and purposes.”
Here's the world's attitude about his help, something I've had to adjust to:On December 6, shortly after Trump's statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the announcement was a "historic landmark" and praised the decision as "courageous and just". During his remarks Netanyahu said there is "no peace that doesn't include Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel", adding that Jerusalem has "been the capital of Israel for nearly 70 years". He later said that he has heard condemnation about the announcement but has "not heard any condemnation for the rocket firing against Israel that has come and the awful incitement against us" Trump's move was a sane one, moral, fair, just and noble. Firing rockets at civilians is not, but look who gets chastised.
