Jerusalem on Temple Mount, Western Wall or Kotel ha Ma aravi
This is the outer retaining wall on the west side of the Temple Mount that was all that remained after 70 CE when the Romans destroyed our 2nd Temple of Solomon.  It became Judaism's holiest site, and for centuries, Jews worshipped at the Kotel and put their prayers, written on scraps of paper, into its crevices.
From 1948 to 1967, Jordan held control here and would not allow Jews on the site.  After 1967's miracle of Israel's winning the war, they again could come here.
ISRAEL'S SIZE COMPARED TO ARAB WORLD

Israel's land mas is about 1/625 or 1/6 of 1% the size of the Arab World.  Israel's territory is 8,019 square miles.  It is smaller than New Jersey 's 8,729 sq.mi.; California's 158, 302 sq.mi.

Israel is made up of 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Middle Eastern Arabs and Muslims.  Population today is 8,497,214.

Israel is the only Middle Eastern country where the Christian population is thriving instead of disappearing.  Between 1948 and 1998, Israel's Christians grew fourfold from 34,000 to 130,000.
