Mike Huckabee Chosen For The Promised Land As Ambassador

 Nadene Goldfoot

Donald Trump has chosen Mike Huckabee to be the United Nation's representative.  Michael Dale Huckabee  born August 24, 1955) is an American political commentator, Baptist minister, and former politician who served as the 44th governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007. He was a candidate for the Republican Party presidential nomination in both 2008 and 2016.

On November 12, 2024, it was announced that President-elect Donald Trump would be nominating Huckabee as United States Ambassador to Israel. In a statement, Trump stated that Huckabee would "bring peace to the Middle East."  Before this announcement, we heard that it was Donald who would do this.

Mike  is the host of the talk show Huckabee, which ran on the Fox News Channel from 2008 to 2015, and has run on TBN since October 2017. He paused the show in January 2015 in order to explore a potential bid for the presidency. From April 2012 through December 2013, he hosted a daily radio program, The Mike Huckabee Show, on weekday afternoons for Cumulus Media Networks. Huckabee is an ordained Southern Baptist Pastor noted for his evangelical views, a musician, and a public speaker. He has written several books, and was previously a political commentator on The Huckabee Report.

The four core beliefs that distinguish evangelical Christians from other Protestants are:

1. The Bible is the true word of God. (OKay)

2. Jesus Christ died for the sins of humanity,

3.  and those who believe in Him can have eternal life.

4. Conversion and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ are essential for salvation.

Israelis do not accept Jesus as Christians do.  In fact, there are no independent Jewish sources for the life of Jesus of Nazareth.  There is a reference  in "Josephus"  that is in part a Christian interpolation:  allusion in the Talmud and the post-talmudic TOLEDOT YESHU that are of value only as an indication of later Jewish attitudes.  The only source of information about Jesus is thus the NEW TESTAMENT Gospels.  In fact, the Gospels were written later after the fact during dates that vary with the references. The four gospels were written over a period of almost a century after Jesus' death, likely between 65–110 AD:

  • Mark: Written around 70 CE
  • Matthew: Written around 85 CE
  • Luke: Written between 85 and 95 CE
  • John: Written between 90 and 100 CE
Most scholars believe that the gospels were written by unknown Christians and that none were written by eyewitnesses. Instead, the gospels are thought to present the theologies of their communities.

The gospels were written in Greek, like the rest of the New Testament. They were written decades after Jesus' death because most people in his day were illiterate.

Mike Huckabee will find it harder to not convert to Judaism than any Jew converting to Christianity in Israel, as I see it, if he starts debating.

Huckabee is a strong supporter of Israel, opposing Palestinian statehood, encouraging West Bank settlements which are illegal under international law, and going so far as to deny Israel's existing military occupation in the region. In 2017, at an event in the West Bank, he stated: "There is no such thing as a West Bank - it's Judea and Samaria. There's no such thing as a settlement. They're communities. They're neighborhoods. They're cities. There's no such thing as an occupation." (Finally, someone that knows real facts.)

While I was living in Israel, a man from my home town in eastern Oregon was busy trying to convert Holocaust Jews who had lost their faith in G-d to Christianity.  They had to go through terrible times as survivors from that horrid experience, and now they were facing the pressures from this man who wrote back, telling the readers of the town's newspaper all about it.  Being I was part of the only Jewish family in town, I had read all about it and was slowly burning up myself.

Mike will  be living in Israel as the Ambassador from the USA.  Is he going to proselytize, evangelize or work at his government job, anyway?  Evangelization is the act of sharing the gospel with others, while proselytizing is the act of trying to convince someone to share your beliefs:  Neither would be acceptable in Israel, if you ask me.  I wonder how Israel's religious party members will handle this hot potato?  Why did Trump pick Mike Huckabee for the job over other candidates?

Huckabee is the father of Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the governor of Arkansas since 2023 and a former White House press secretary.  Does this have anything to do with it? Being who he is, an evangelical Christian, it's going to be hard for him not to try to expose his personal feelings.

Mike and I are on the same page.  It must be why Donald Trump  and his son in law, Jerad Kushner, have selected him for the job.

Nikki Haley was the best UN Representative that I've ever seen, and was  the 29th U.S. ambassador to the United Nations from January 2017 to December 2018, chosen by Trump.

Mike has her as an example of excellence to live up to, and I

have a feeling that he's up to it, though the jobs are a little different.  A knowledge of

Israel's history is important in both positions.
