Critical Race Theory Teaching Against Zionism in California

This new Critical Race Theory Unit introduced all over the USA, is 

supposed to help students be more tolerant of each other, I was led 

to believe, but it is now just creating more anti-

Semitism in California.                   

"Under the guise of a new law mandating ethnic studies “training” in 

California, a group dedicated to the tenets of critical race theory—

and especially its most vile component, antisemitic opposition to 

the Jewish state—are marketing a curriculum that viciously 

maligns Israel and attacks Israel’s very reason for 

being."

                                           

This statement comes from FLAME.  FLAME (Facts and Logic 

About the Middle East) has for over 25 years brought the 

truth about Israel and the Middle East conflict to the attention 

of an American public that is mostly uninformed and 

misinformed about these matters. The media — both print and 

broadcast — are with few exceptions biased against Israel.

                                                

Theodor Herzl was an Austro-Hungarian Jewish lawyer, journalist, playwright, political activist, and writer who was the father of modern political Zionism. Herzl formed the Zionist Organization and promoted Jewish immigration to Palestine in an effort to form a Jewish state.

The law raises a fundamental question as to whether Zionism—a 

belief supporting the self-determination of the Jewish people to a 

state in their indigenous homeland—is protected by the laws of our 

land.                                      

Wikipedia says about FLAME:  Facts and Logic About the 

Middle East (FLAME) is a non-profit pro-Israel organization 

based in San Francisco, California. It was founded by Gerardo 

Joffe and began as a local chapter of the pro-Israel media 

watchdog group CAMERA. By 1987 the ads, which had 

appeared using the CAMERA name were now sponsored 

by FLAME, an independent organization. Its stated purpose 

is "the research and publication of the facts regarding 

developments in the Middle East and exposing false 

propaganda that might harm the interests of the United States 

and its allies in that area of the world." CAMERA specialized 

in monitoring and attaining corrections. Its 

stated purpose is "the research and publication of the facts 

regarding developments in the Middle East and exposing false 

propaganda that might harm the interests of the United States 

and its allies in that area of the world."  

California recently passed AB 101, a statute requiring that graduates 

of high school must have taken a class in ethnic studies.

After years of wrangling between citizen groups, teachers’ unions 

and legislators aimed at eliminating racial bias in any such ethnic 

studies curriculum, the bill was passed, which included a model 

ethnic studies curriculum that assuaged most of the interest groups.

Unfortunately, the model was only offered as an example of an 

acceptable curriculum—not mandated.

                                               

Unfortunately, too, one of the leading developers of ethnic 

studies curricula in California—Liberated Ethnic Studies 

Model Curriculum Consortium (LESMCC)—

believes the proposed model is woefully unacceptable and is 

marketing a curriculum steeped in racially biased principles, 

including utter disdain for Zionism and 

the modern state of Israel.

An attack on Jewish diners outside a Beverly Grove restaurant by members of a pro-Palestinian caravan Tuesday night is being investigated by police as a possible hate crime.  The incident, which Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Nicolas Prange said was originally reported as a large group fight, occurred shortly before 10 p.m. outside the Sushi Fumi restaurant in the 300 block of North La Cienega Boulevard.  The incident was captured on video and shared with KTLA by a viewer who wished to remain anonymous.  I'm using a Jewish restaurant picture.

3% of California are Jewish with 1,187,993 Jews in 2020. California has had an 82% increase of attacks on Jews according to ADL.

                                       

New York  Jewish victim: 9.1% Jewish population with 1,772,420.

An Orthodox Jewish man, Josef Neumann of New York City,  hacked viciously by a machete-swinging anti-Semite will likely remain brain-damaged and paralyzed for life — even if he somehow regains consciousness, his heartbroken family said Wednesday. New York is at an all time high in Jews being attacked.           

Conspicuously absent from this list are Jewish 

Americans and Middle Eastern Jews living in 

California, especially since Jews are the targets 

of more hate crimes than any other ethnic group in 

California.  

Even more telling, Palestinian Arabs have been—against all 

geographic logic—squeezed into the AA/PI category, (Asian/Pacific American or Asian/Pacific Islander or Asian American and Pacific Islanders or Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander is a term sometimes used in the United States when including both Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.)

while Jews, the indigenous people of the same Middle 

East region, are excluded.

Most egregiously, according to LESMCC’s website, its model 

curriculum shamelessly asserts that “Zionism is a nationalist, 

colonial ideology.”  (LIBERATED ETHNIC STUDIES MODEL CURRICULUM CONSORTIUM - LESMCC)

But LESMCC’s vision is not just anti-Zionist. It is fundamentally 

based in critical race theory—CRT—

which holds that race and ethnicity should be the primary distinctions in social organization and that the focus of all political action 

should be on power struggles among racial, ethnic 

and “marginalized” groups.

Somebody should inform LESMCC that they are 

hurting Jews, who are the very people who first 

helped Blacks in their rights as citizens.
