TV news this morning exposed Ocasio Cortez as being very much against Israel by talking about Palestine, which hasn't been created as yet, and how Israel harms Palestine. She was asked to support her views but couldn't. Such a politician has just grabbed what she thinks is a popular view, and among her friends no doubt is, but she hasn't bothered to check her facts. She ran against Joseph Crowley and won.

Among her friends and supporters is Bernie Sanders, another socialist, and though Jewish, was turned off by Israel after trying to live on a kibbutz when much younger and at a down-point of his life. I have a feeling that he went there not to help Israel but to gain help for himself and didn't find it.
Israel is not a popular state among the world institutions, but is a friend of the United States. Our president Trump is far more supportive of her than the former president, Obama, who went against her in his last days in office by giving her no support at all in the UN, unlike other presidents The best thing our present president has done is to give us a great UN Ambassador of Nikki Haley, a former governor, who does defend Israel at the UN, not only defending her but giving the rest of the members at the UN holy heck for ganging up on Israel exclusively. She's a knowledgeable lady!
By the way, Israel had the backing of the whole League of Nations and the United Nations at one time, but with the addition of more countries to the UN, they soon turned tail and followed the prevailing crowd in their anti-Semitic value system. Then as before, Israel became the scape-goat of the world, the only country who they found time to criticize and denounce.
With the assistance of the UN, this little country of about 10,000 sq miles and only 7.7 million population (6 million Jews; 1.7 million Arabs) is surrounded by people who have not liked the idea of former Jewish residents returning to their ancient homeland being their part of the world is now populated by Muslims. Religious open-mindedness has not been their thing. Surprisingly, Saudi Arabia is now changing their opinion with the idea of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" in their alarm over their resistance against Iran's take-over plans. In this they may just conclude that Jews aren't the evil ones they were led to believe so long ago, and that evil ones are already in their back yard.
And again, for the benefit of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's education, there never has been a country of Palestine. It was the name the Romans gave to Jewish land they had taken in 70 CE in getting even with them for fighting for 3 years and gaining Jerusalem back from 132-135 when Bar Kokhba led the Jews in a return fight. They named the land as such for Israel's worst enemy, the Philistines-and out of this was Palaestina.
There hasn't been a Palestine created as yet today, though they have the staff all picked out. It seems that Fatah and Hamas, the 2 terrorist groups they have sided as, cannot get along and cannot agree to much, and they can't follow the expectations of any country wanting recognition of being peaceful. They just keep on slugging away at Israel, ignoring this proper expectation. Those Palestinians (before 1948 Jews and Arabs were all Palestinians) that live in Gaza are Muslims and are ruled by Hamas-the worst of terrorists. Those in our ancient Judah-Samaria are Arafat's old terrorist group, now calling themselves Fatah. Those Arabs living in Israel are citizens numbering 1.7 million. They're the ones whose ancestors didn't leave or follow the call of their own leaders. They're the wiser of these people; at least their ancestors were by staying.
Israel is the ONLY Jewish country in the world among 48 Muslim majority countries with the 10 largest being: Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Sudan, Algeria and Morocco. There are only about 14 million Jews in the world. We are 0.02% of the world population. Hitler tried to wipe us all out, and it weren't for the USA, may have succeeded. When the League of Nations decided to give England the mandate over Palestine, they were to help us create our Jewish Homeland. Instead they almost immediately gave away 80% of our promise to Abdulah of Saudi Arabia who created Jordan. We've faced disappointments for 2,000 years. The so called Palestinian Arab came from all the surrounding lands to get jobs from the Jews who were busy building in the Ottoman Empire when Russian Jewish immigration started in the 1880s with the horrible attacks in Russia on Jews of pogroms. To have Israel reach their 70th birthday, we've had to have the determination of a people not about to be wiped out of this world, and the absolute partnership of our one and only G-d above to do so. Without this, we wouldn't have made it. I think of our ancestors praying 3 times a day for help in returning, and the time has finally come. There is always some sort of Ocasio Cortez, or even a Bernie Sanders, who acts as a stone in the road.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a 28 year old college MA in the art of a community organizer similar to former president Obama. She's a political activist, who also lists herself as an educator. I do not see a degree in education, however. What kind of educator is she? She certainly doesn't know a thing about Israel, so history is not her thing, though she is spreading lies about Israel and Palestine.
She's never run for office and she's still paying off her student loans.
Ocasio-Cortez is going for the jugular. She advertises being for "Medicare for all, women’s rights, and, most innocuous of all, “support seniors.” That sounds terrific, doesn't it? Is that medicare for everyone, regardless of age? Very socialistic right here, though our programs do help children under other names, I'm sure. Women have rights here today, and seniors can find help. I have a whole sheet of listings for myself to find help. With this inducement, "New York congressional hopeful Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pulled off her shocking upset primary victory against Rep. Joe Crowley in NY-14. She's now crowing about it.
I'm not for socialism at all for the USA. It's too close to communism. I'm totally shocked that socialism is gaining a foothold in our younger citizens. The Floridians, many who fled socialistic countries like Cuba, realize that this is not for them; it doesn't work. They are tried and true realists who recognize democracy as being the best of ways to live. A democracy brings out the best of all people; ambitious and lazy. Socialism equalizes everyone to being the same; it squashes creativeness and ambition. It lacks incentives. Israel has used a bit of socialism, especially on a kibbutz, but is also very democratic, and can be everything in such a small country that is only as big as our smallest state. They are a very creative people who are one of the biggest if not THE biggest as a start-up nation for businesses. You don't find this in socialistic countries. Here are the top 10 Socialistic counties of today: I note that China was in a complete morass, so socialism is a step up for them. I bet they're dying to be democratic, though.

In Alexandria's zeal to get votes, she's simply ripe for the picking by people who are Pro Palestinians and anti-Semitic. As I am writing this, a tape from one of the articles listed below is boasting that what she is saying about Israel is so true. NO! It's all propaganda coming from the Palestinians. I say it's anti-Semitic because Israel is a Jewish state, and that's most of the problem that people are having. If it was a Buddhist country in the middle of a Muslim area, I guarantee you it would be more tolerated (probably with the thought of future conversion to Islam). She's not informed or educated about the Middle East and is easily swayed. Her constituents -to -be feel she doesn't have to be educated about this; only in their needs. It makes her a potential weapon against Israel or any other important decisions. Ignorance is not bliss in the hands of leaders.

that poor young woman ought to have some long talks with nikki haley and be brought up to speed regarding israel's history (and "palestine") . would do her her a world of good (and forget about anything bernie sanders has to say-another jewish many who has no roots evidently or he'd know better). so she is like many people her age. way out of touch with what makes the world go 'round. unreality is the rule of the day for many--the league of nations and the un at one time were smarter than they are now--by a long shot!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I wish she would get in touch with Nikki Haley and learn from her. She won't. She'll go with whatever gets her the most votes and keeps her in office. We won't give up trying to educate people, though.
