USA and Israel: Divided Political Party Contenders

When they first met, Biden was a junior senator in his early 40s; Netanyahu was a fledgling diplomat nearly a decade younger. Now with their first phone call expected imminently, the two must decide how their relationship will evolve, at the height of their careers and the peak of their powers.                                                           

Right now Israel is being divided between Labor/Kadima (breakaway party of Labor, also on left, a very liberal political party, and Likud, which Netanyahu has belonged.  Olmert, former PM and Kadima member is the spokesman interviewed on CNN.  It's so much like the USA's division.                                   Past experience

 Countdown to the debate: Vice President Kamala Harris(of the LEFT party) and former President Donald Trump (of the RIGHT party )  are gearing up for Tuesday’s presidential debate. A CNN Poll of Polls finds a tight race with no clear leader ahead of the televised showdown.

In July, Trump’s voters were far more likely than Biden’s voters to characterize their support for their candidate as “strong” (63% vs. 43%). But that gap is no longer present in the Harris-Trump matchup.

Today, 62% of Harris voters say they strongly support her, while about a third (32%) say they moderately support her. Trump’s voters are just about as likely to say they strongly back him today as they were in July (64% today, 63% then).

Kennedy’s voters make up a smaller share of voters today than a month ago – and just 18% of his voters say they strongly support him, similar to the 15% who said the same in July.

  Harris is the current vice president and the highest-ranking female political official in US history. She previously served as a US senator, California attorney general and the San Francisco district attorney.
  Key policy issues
  Harris’ initial campaign speeches offer some insights into her priorities, though she’s mainly voiced general talking points and not more nuanced plans. Like Biden, she intends to contrast her vision for America with Trump’s. She said the path forward will focus on lifting up working and middle-class Americans,enabling them to join unions, retire with dignity,live without the fear of gun violence and obtain affordable health care.

• Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Before launching his successful 2016 presidential bid, Trump was a real estate developer, businessman and a reality television star as host of “The Apprentice.”

  Key policy issues

  If he wins another term, Trump has said he would overhaul key factions of the federal government and slash social safety net programs. He has also vowed retribution against his political opponents and has said he would appoint a special prosecutor to “go after” Biden and his family.
