The Deal of the Century: It Stinks A Few Hostages For a Lot of Palestinians

 Nadene Goldfoot

Inside of the hospital in Gaza, loaded with ammunition to use against Israelis.   Hamas has been shooting rockets at Israel's  Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon for about the past 20 years.  Our little country knows just how Hamas works.

From (israel AM) comes the news about a deal for exchanges of hostages for civilian Palestinians.

"Regarding the hostage negotiations, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said today, "The Qatari mediation is in its final stage and at the closest point to reaching a cease-fire. We do not have a final agreement yet, but will announce the details as soon as we do." Hamas released details of what they say that they have agreed to, which include a five day truce and the release of 50 woman and children hostages, 10 per day. Israel would release 300 Palestinian woman and children security prisoners. The deal would also include the delivery of 300 trucks of humanitarian aid. Israel has not confirmed or denied any details. The government will meet later today to discuss the potential deal."

They consider this a fair deal to Israel?  50:300?  Israel gets 1/6th  of the deal which are women and children to 300 Palestinian women and children?  There are about 240 hostages Hamas is holding.  This leaves almost 200 that will still be held.  And they call this a deal after weeks of bartering?

This includes the 5 day truce that Hamas is angling to get most of all.  That will allow them to get back on their feet and fight against Israel all the more.

The total number of IDF soldiers killed in the ground war by today  is now 68.  That has been kept to this low minimum because of all the precautions Israel takes to keep their soldiers alive.  For Jews, to lose a life is to lose a world.  Our expression is, "To Life !  L'Chaim !"  We are not a people greeting death happily.  Bringing back the 240 some hostages is the goal of the IDF.

Update: 11/22/23  The government approved an agreement with Hamas for the release of at least 50 hostages, children and mothers, in exchange for a 4 day cease-fire and the release of 150 detainees, also women and minors. Most of the detainees are from east Jerusalem and the West Bank. None of them have been convicted for murder, but many of them were convicted for attempted murder and all were involved in terror attacks. Israel will also permit the entry of 300 trucks with humanitarian supplies daily, including fuel, into Gaza, during the cease-fire.
