Hamas Lovers Chanting a Call to Destroy Israel By Using a Phrase From the Bible

 Nadene Goldfoot

Hamas lovers are chanting a phrase, from the river to the sea, saying that they will inhabit the land of Israel.  Do they realize they have stolen the phrase from the Torah, a Jewish book-also found in Old Testament?-Jewish/Christian bible?

Hashem: And He said to 99 year old Abram in a vision....and I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojourns----the whole of the land of Canaan-----as an everlasting possession;  and I shall be a g-d to them."
Canaan was known as the coast of the land.  Prior to Joshua's entering and conquest, the land was divided into small city-states.  the Israelites called the land "Eretz Yisrael" (the Land of Israel-Jacob's new name.  The northern part was called Aram (Syria).  Syria had this name up to the 15th-13th centuries BCE.  The Canaanites, descended from Canaan, son of Ham, were divided into 11 peoples who lived in the area between the Nile River and the Euphrates River.

And who are the Palestinians?  They are mostly comprised of Muslims with a few Christians.  They are not a people since there never has been a country of Palestine,  but people from all around Israel and beyond.  They came looking for jobs from the Jews who had returned in 1881 in large groups called Aliyote from eastern Europe-like Russia.  (read From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters).  Up until 1948 when Israel was created a 2nd time, this time by the League of Nations and the United Nations with Great Britain's holding their 30 year mandate), both Arabs and Jews were called Palestinians with Arab Palestinians referring to themselves as the Syrian Palestinians;   because the land had been renamed by the Romans in 135 CE to irk the Jews who had irked them by fighting a 3 year battle -a getting Jerusalem back after losing it in 70 CE when the Romans burned it down with the Temple.

"Know with certainty that your offspring shall be aliens in a land not their own---and they will serve them, and they will oppress them---400 years.  (This is the time Israelites spent as slaves in Egypt).  "But also the nation that they will serve, I shall judge, and afterwards they will leave with great wealth.  As for you:  you shall come to your ancestors in peace;  you shall be buried in a good old age.  And the 4th generation shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite shall not yet be full until then.
On that day Hashem made a covenant with Abram, saying,  "To your descendants have I given this land, from the river of Egypt (Nile) River to the great river the  (Euphrates) River:  the Kennite, the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite;  the Hittite, the Perizzite, and the Rephaim;  the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.    None of these tribes exist today.

One interesting point is that Jacob had been given Goshen (the Nile Delta) by the pharaoh  to live in at the time of the drought when Joseph was 2nd in command in Egypt. They  raised their sheep. It was later under the next pharaoh or two who became frightened that the Israelites had multiplied so fast and took them as slaves the next 400 years.

.The Torah's subsequent Book of Exodus gives verses on how to treat the prior occupants and marks the borders in terms of the Red Sea, the "Sea of the Philistines", and the "River", which a modern English Bible translates to:

"I shall set your border from the Sea of Reeds to the sea of the Philistines (the Mediterranean Sea) and from the Wilderness until the River (Euphrates) , for I shall deliver the inhabitants of the Land into your hands and you shall drive them away from before you.  you shall not seal a covenant with them or their gods.  they shall not dwell in your Land lest they cause you to sin against Me, that you will worship their gods, for it will be a trap for you." (Exodus  23:31) Tanakh, Stone Edition.

This is from the Torah, the first 5 books of the "Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy as it is called by some; which we Jews say was written by Moses.

The Torah is very old, and is traced back to its beginnings to Moses (1391 BCE to 1271 BCE) who started on the Exodus at age 80 in 1351 BCE and kept on writing for the next 40 years when he died at age 120.  So the Torah was finished in 1271, which was 3,294 years ago.

Mohammad was a more recent prophet for the Muslims.  He was born in 570 and died in 632, living for 62 years.  He was illiterate, not able to read or write.  He dictated the Koran to a scribe. He included this information.  It's in the Koran for those who read.

A Political commentator on Fox news, Marc Lamont Hill, was fired from his position at CNN after remarks before the United Nations on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict that were alleged to be antisemitic. On November 28, 2018, while speaking in a meeting at the UN marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Hill said: "We have an opportunity to not just offer solidarity in words but to commit to political action, grass-roots action, local action and international action that will give us what justice requires and that is a free Palestine from the river to the sea."

"The Anti-Defamation League alleged that the phrase "river to the sea" is code, often used by Hamas, for the destruction of Israel."  He was inciting people to attack Israel.

Over the weekend, scholar and social justice activist Marc Lamont Hill apologized for ending his recent remarks at United Nations by calling for “a free Palestine from the river to the sea.” His apology came after three days of furious online attacks and criticism from many people who felt deeply hurt by his remarks.  Critics have pointed to Hamas’s use of this phrase to claim that Hill was either deliberately parroting a Hamas line that calls for Israel’s elimination, or at the very least ignorantly repeating a deeply offensive and triggering phrase.  Said at the UN and now being copied by all the Palestine groups throughout the USA, and they have no idea where the phrase came from originally; the Torah, the words of G-d speaking to Moses.
