Benjamin Netanyahu Defending His Past Prime Minister Position

 Nadene Goldfoot

Benjamin Netanyahu, born 21 October 1949 in Israel, 10 years older than Benny Gantz, will be 73 years old in October.

Who wasn't proud of Benjamin Netanyahu when he spoke to the world?  Who has ever been more articulate, speaking from his heart, and in his 2nd language?  Netanyahu has the reputation of being an outstanding leader for the tiny-most often disliked newly formed state of Israel from April 14,1948, so disliked by the UN, the body that originally, as the League of Nations, had decided to back the Jewish Homeland and had put that responsibility in the hands of Great Britain for the next 30 years to do so.  Netanyahu spoke and made me proud! His first language was Hebrew, yet he could teach Americans the art of oration.   His brilliance shone over Obama's statements, even.

Obama and Netanyahu were at odds over the 1967 border line which Obama wanted Israel to return to, and Netanyahu had to explain why this was a terrible idea.

In October 2014, author Jeffrey Goldberg related a conversation in which Goldberg said that a senior official of the Obama administration called Netanyahu a "chickenshit" after Netanyahu accused U.S. President Barack Obama of "acting contrary to American values". Goldberg went on to say that Netanyahu and his cabinet were largely to blame for the tensions between the Netanyahu and Obama governments.

Secretary of State John Kerry phoned Netanyahu to clarify that "such statements are disgraceful, unacceptable and damaging" and "do not reflect the position of the United States."  (Needless to say, the feelings between Obama and Netanyahu were greatly strained.  Obama was the USA's speaker who wowed the country with his words, thus winning the presidential position. These 2 speakers were like bulls taking on each other at a rodeo.)

"2015: In the end, Netanyahu’s speech did not prevent the implementation of the nuclear deal with Iran; Obama won that fight. But it did help him recover in the polls and, against all odds, win another term as Israel’s prime minister—a victory that ensured Netanyahu’s political career would outlive that of his American rival."

Netanyahu has other politicians who have wanted his position.  Like animals of the jungle, they have been merciless.  We heard he was in deep waters for accepting a box of cigars.  His wife is another pressure, no doubt, for needing things.  What has taken place?

Sara Ben-Artzi b: November 5, 1948,  (later Netanyahu) was born in the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Tiv'on, near Haifa. Her father, Shmuel Ben-Artzi, was a Polish-born Israeli Jewish educator, author, poet and biblical scholar, who died in 2011 at the age of 96. Her mother, Chava (née Paritzky; 1922–2003), was a sixth-generation Jerusalemite.

Klein has been testifying as part of the public corruption trial in Case 1000, the “Illegal Gifts Affair,” against the former prime minister. Klein’s testimony marks a transition away from media bribery in Case 4000, the “Bezeq-Walla Affair, which has dominated the trial since witnesses started testifying a year ago.  “Mr. Netanyahu called me from his office,” said Klein. “I said to him that I had been [unfairly] hit with threatening screams [by Sara Netanyahu], and that I had received a very difficult call over something where I had done nothing wrong. He said to me that I just did not understand,” and that Klein should give Sara all of the cigars and champagne she wanted because they had gotten it approved by a legal adviser.

                               1997 with Sara and Bibi

Sara Netanyahu (Hebrewשרה נתניהוnée Ben-Artzi; born 5 November 1958) is the wife of former Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu. By profession, she is an educational and career psychologist.

Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu (/ˌnɛtɑːnˈjɑːh/; Hebrewבִּנְיָמִין נְתַנְיָהוּ ; born 21 October 1949) is an Israeli politician who served as the ninth prime minister of Israel from 1996 to 1999 and from 2009 to 2021. Netanyahu currently serves as Leader of the Opposition and as the chairman of the Likud – National Liberal Movement. He served in office for a total of 15 years, making him the longest-serving Israeli prime minister in history. He was also the first prime minister to be born in Israel after its Declaration of Independence.

According to Efraim Zuroff of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, during the visit of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Jerusalem, Netanyahu failed to publicly address Ukraine's official policy of rehabilitating local Nazi collaborators like UPA leader Roman Shukhevych, who had participated in the murder of Jews. (I would remind all that he is a politician and had a guest he didn't want to publically offend.  What they spoke about in private was their business. This is a situational problem for many Israelis as the Ukrainians have a bad reputation  as to what they had happen to Jews during WWII.  Zuroff shouldn't had been so shocked !!

Netanyahu has developed a close relationship with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro following Bolsonaro's election in 2018.

Netanyahu and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have tense relations. In March 2019, after being denounced by Turkey as a racist for saying that Israel was the nation-state of the Jewish people only, Netanyahu called Erdoğan a dictator and mocked him for imprisoning journalists in a tweet. In response, Erdoğan called Netanyahu as "the thief who heads Israel", referencing the ongoing corruption scandals against Netanyahu. In the same speech, Erdoğan further escalated the spat by addressing to Netanyahu directly, saying, "you are a tyrant. You are a tyrant who slaughters 7-year-old Palestinian kids", and further in April 2018, calling Israel "terror state" and Netanyahu "terrorist". Netanyahu tweeted that "Erdoğan is among Hamas's biggest supporters and there is no doubt that he well understands terrorism and slaughter." Netanyahu condemned the 2019 Turkish offensive into north-eastern Syria and warned against ethnic cleansing of Kurds by Turkey and its proxies.  Right now, Israel and Turkey are friendly, but they have a long history of being enemies.  Remember the ship carrying weapons for Israel's enemies?  On 31 May 2010, Israeli Shayetet 13 naval commandos boarded the ships from speedboats and helicopters in order to force the ships to the Israeli port of Ashdod for inspection. On the Turkish ship MV Mavi Marmara, according to the Israel's own Turkel Commission, the Israeli Navy faced resistance from about 40 of the 590 passengers, including IHH activists – described in the commission's report as a separate "hardcore group" – who were said to be armed with iron bars and knives.

Netanyahu may know Donald Trump's family better than any American.  "Netanyahu and former U.S. President Donald Trump have known each other for many years. Netanyahu had been a friend of Donald Trump's father, Fred, when Netanyahu lived in New York during the 1980s, serving as UN ambassador. "During the 1980s, Fred Trump became friends with future prime minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, who at the time was the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations." Fred was a man who had gone out of his way to impress Jewish people, feeling guilty about his German ancestry, his 1st language.  He had a lot of Jewish rentals he didn't want to scare away.  Fred suffered in the end from  Alzheimer's disease.

]In 2013, Trump made a video endorsing Netanyahu during the Israeli elections saying, "vote for Benjamin – terrific guy, terrific leader, great for Israel". In June 2019, Netanyahu officially renamed a settlement in the disputed Golan Heights after Donald Trump."
