I just watched Rabbi Golub and Alan Dershowitz discuss Peter Beinart's bombshell of an article in New York Times presenting his Final Solution for Israel. This was on JBS, Jewish Broadcasting Service during Rabbi Golub's program . I was in total shock!! Jewish Broadcasting Service is an American Jewish television network. JBS programming includes daily news reports from Israel, live event coverage and analysis, and cultural programming of interest to the North American Jewish community. The network is a full-time HD and SD channel. It's on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N0vAltKsoI. It came on after this program automatically for me.
Alan Dershowitz is an EMERITUS PROFESSOR OF LAW, HARVARD LAW SCHOOL, AND A TOP LAWYER FOR MANY WELL-KNOWN PEOPLE. hE IS known for his work in U.S. constitutional law and American criminal law. He taught at Harvard Law School from 1964 through 2013, where he was appointed as the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law in 1993. Dershowitz was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on September 1, 1938, the son of Claire (née Ringel) and Harry Dershowitz, an Orthodox Jewish couple. He was raised in Borough Park. He and Rabbi Golub were discussing the coming out of Peter Beinart 's article and his feelings about Israel. We concluded he didn't love Israel at all!. No feelings for her, klum כלום and shoom daVAR שום דבר. nada, nil. It's sad.
He's young, Alan, not as well read as you and me. He went to the right schools, but they weren't teaching much of our history; or he was just thinking about girls at the time. He doesn't know about the beginning before 1918 when countries were being discussed to Jews to build a country and live in peace, and Africa and all its places were brought up. That was debated and with lots of pro and con, our leaders bantered about and nobody would move there as the bible stated that our home was in Israel, and the ancient Israel was now in Palestine, belonging to the Ottoman Empire, and that already some Jews had started to return there. That's the only place for us! Did we not pray 3 times a day for the return to our homeland for the past years ever since 70 CE? For us, Israel is Judaism as much as Tikun Olam ! Judaism is not just a religion like others; we are a part of it. It's our blood. Had we not had this dream of RETURN, we would have ended up like other religions; about to turn atheistic, with a pocket of Jews in Brooklyn and that's it.
Peter Alexander Beinart is an American columnist, journalist, and political commentator. Beinart was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His parents were Jewish immigrants from South Africa (his maternal grandfather was from Russia, and his maternal grandmother, who was Sephardic, was from Egypt). His father's parents were from Lithuania. He then studied history and political science at Yale University, where he was a member of the Yale Political Union and graduated in 1993 with the Alpheus Henry Snow Prize. He was a Rhodes Scholar at University College, Oxford University, where he earned an M.Phil. in international relations in 1995. Out of one of the most brilliant men comes the worst idea since the creation of the Corona virus! It hits me in the same shocking manner.
A former editor of The New Republic, he has written for Time, The New York Times, and The New York Review of Books among other periodicals. He is also the author of three books. He's an orthodox Jew who wants to see the end of Israel as it exists and instead dreams of seeing it as among all the Palestinians in an Israel-Palestine state that he has dreamed up in his mind. One finds this out by reading their article in the New York Times.
Yesterday's article came out with: I No Longer Believe in a Jewish State. For decades
I argued for separation between Israelis and Palestinians. Now, I can imagine a

How and why this is an affront to me is that it is an affront to historic facts. Before he got into his reasoning, I was also thinking that Beinart's ideas were pie in the sky, that he was a Lufmentch, a dreamer without any facts or knowledge of the reasons that Israel was created a 2nd time in our generation. What was wrong with him were my thoughts, and I was pleased to find that Alan and I were thinking the same, since I had left the Democratic Party and he's assisting Hillary for the next round; only his emotions were even stronger and he was furious! Alan said that the article was of willful deception in that facts that are crucial were not there, and such as man as Peter should have known them in the first place. Alan also said that Peter was erasing history! He was much faster in analyzing Peter's article than I.
Having more knowledge and being much brighter, Alan had reason to be outraged. I believe he must have a photographic memory, as he came up with facts on the spot without hesitating. He loves to debate ! No wonder. He wouldn't have to stop and read a card or two. I thought Alan and I were not in agreement since he's always been for a 2 state solution and I have not; but then this idea of Beinart is worse than the 2 state and would never in a thousand years work. Thank goodness Peter stayed in the USA and has no authority in Israel! Newsweek has done an article about Dershowitz's rebuttal.
