Flynn, Mueller and Trump : Investigating Treason in Washington DC

Nadene Goldfoot

Young General Michael Thomas Flynn, a Democrat,  is a former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.  Obama appointed him to this post as the 18th director which he started in July 2012 to his retirement from the Army in August 2014.   He's a retired US Army Lieutenant General who served in the Army for 33 years.  Trump asked him to be his National Security Advisor.    Born in December of 1958 in Rhode Island, he'll be 59 years old this month.

Right now Flynn's in trouble with the FBI for lying to them about information that can incriminate him concerning contact with Russia.  This in turn can harm President Trump somehow, which seems to be the main goal of an investigation being headed by Special Counsel Robert  Swan Mueller.  A lawyer and civil servant,Mueller was the former  6th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2001 to 2013.  Mueller is officially the head of the Special Counsel investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 USA elections.  Before becoming the FBI Director, he was a US Attorney, and assistant attorney general for the Criminal Division and an acting deputy attorney general.  Our Justice Department appointed him as special counsel in May of this year.

What has General Flynn done that is so questionable?  What does a general do with himself upon retirement?  When Flynn left the military in 2014, he started the Flynn Intel Group which provides intelligence services for businesses and governments, including ones in Turkey.  Turkey was once the seat of the Ottoman Empire which was on the Axis side in WWI.  They lost their empire to the Allies which included Great Britain who through the United Nations of the day, were given the mandate to rule over Palestine for 30 years.  At the end of this period, as designated by world decision, it was to go to Jewish hands who were creating Israel.  Today, Turkey has been on the side of the Allies.  "Flynn Intel Group is a lobbying group established by Michael Flynn. Flynn registered the company from the home of his friend Stanley A. McChrystal, a "fellow general-turned-consultant." (Rolling Stone's Michael Hastings caused McChrystal to resign.).*

Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Kamil Ekim Alptekin, a Turkish businessman close to Recep Tayyip ErdoğanTurkey's leader, is a client of Flynn Intel Group. Inovo, a company owned by Alptekin, paid the Flynn Intel Group $530,000 to investigate Fethullah Gulen, a U.S.-resident cleric who is wanted by the Turkish government.

Flynn was asked to serve as an adviser to the Trump campaign in February 2016.  Trump is a former Democrat but wasn't choosing only Republicans. Flynn felt as he did about Obama.  Trump had changed parties possibly because he saw he couldn't run against Hillary in the primary.   He saw that Flynn had many assets and chose to have him on his team.   Flynn became one of the keynote speakers during the first night of the 2016 Republican National Convention.  He said, "We are tired of Obama's empty speeches and his misguided rhetoric.  This has caused the world to have no respect for America's word, nor does it fear our might."  It seems that Trump has picked this up as the theme in his service as President.

Flynn went on to accuse Obama of choosing to not speak of Osama bin Laden's actions nor the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.  He criticized political correctness that was going on.

They saw eye to eye about the conditions in the Middle East over Islam's creation of an Islamic State-ISIS.  At first he was supportive to ban Muslims from entering the USA until vetted, but told Al Jazeera that a blanket ban wouldn't work and called to vetting of people from countries like Syria.  The only problem with this is that many people have lost their papers in all the bombing.  Records have been destroyed.  Flynn wanted the US to extradite Fethllah Gullen to Turkey and he wanted to work constructively with Russia over Syria.  In 2016 he said that he had personally seen photos of signs in the SW border area that were in Arabic to help Muslims enter the USA illegally.  The National Border Patrol's officer wasn't aware of Muslims getting through there.  It might be hard to tell who's who if they are in a mixed group of Mexicans coming through.  Just like during the Crusades at the beginning of the millennium, Crusaders killed both Muslims and Jews.  They couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Flynn had to resign from this position after only 24 days of service after information came out that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about his communications with the Russian Ambassador to the USA, Sergey Kislyak.

Already Mueller's investigation was shaking up Trump's new selection.  His probe on April 27, 2017 was investigating whether Flynn had accepted money from foreign governments without the required approval.  Flynn didn't want to hand over subpoenaed documents to the Senate Intelligence Committee and used the 5th amendment that protects us against self incrimination.  They worked out a compromise.  By today, December 1st, the news is that Flynn accepted their compromise with Mueller and will plead guilty to one count, that of lying to the FBI.  This is a felony.

Pressured to resign on Valentine's Day, President Trump had to meet with FBI Director James Comey in the Oval Office and said to him, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go.  He's  good guy."

Flynn said he was asked by Trump's son in law, Jerad Kushner, to intercede to defend Israel in the US on the last day of Obama's term, when he went against former American presidents being Israel's friend in the UN.  By the USA's actions under Obama, it was the worst thing that he could have done to Israel.  Evidently Kushner thought Flynn could get Russia to give a less damning vote for Israel.

Kushner had to undergo being investigated last year in December 2016 by the Mueller team.  What did he do?  " President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had a previous undisclosed meeting with the Russian ambassador in December at Trump Tower in New York, officials confirmed Thursday to Fox News." This came out in March.  This was a brief courtesy meeting that lasted for 20 minutes.

Is lying to Congress a felony like lying to the FBI?

So much of the wire service is filled with this drama of the Democrats trying to  get Trump out of office through his appointees that everyone is forgetting how close Hillary Clinton has been in being the star of breaking the law in politics.  Didn't she accept money from people other than Americans for her Clinton Foundation?  How about all the e-mails she has been in hot water about because of wanting her own way?  How about the Benghazi Slaughter?  "The administration was quick to blame the video, which did trigger protests in Egypt and elsewhere, and slow to acknowledge that the incident was a terrorist attack."  Not acknowledging that a problem exists among our Muslim neighbors was the Obama way, and now Trump has taken the opposite path.

"
The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump’s connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

Flynn was held in high regard by Trump.  "Flynn was a crucial member of Trump's presidential campaign and was even vetted as a vice presidential candidate. Trump finds it unfair to have treated him like he has been.  Flynn spoke to Russians during the transition between presidents.  This was his mistake.  Should a general know better?  He must have felt it was important.

Did Trump use Flynn to collude with the Russians to fix our elections?  I think not.  Personally, I feel Hillary made enough mistakes already and voters were not going to reward her with their vote.  That's what Mueller is supposedly looking into.

Flynn’s conversations to the Russian ambassador were not a crime.

Not disclosing this information to the corrupt FBI was his crime.
General Flynn: “It has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of ‘treason.’”
